Awesome Junk Sculptures

we've been inspired to do something big. real big let's talk about. [Music]. that good mythical morning thank you uh. for making us a part of your daily. routine you're special yeah you don't. need us to tell you that but it can't. hurt for me to tell you that because. it's. true and I said it and it's over let's.

not make it awkward yeah come on uh but. I do thank you for being your mythical. best okay and for being here and me too. I and for inviting your friends please. do that every weekday every time you. done for eternity. oh should have been done all right so as. you know we recently uh went to France. had a great time we did a whole episode. about the different Adventures that we. had there and I want to talk about one. thing that we experienced that I think. could be lifechanging link we didn't.

know if we wanted to share this with you. because it has a lot of personal. components oh really making it a little. too serious too. soon I am going to get serious though. for eternity so uh we did what a lot of. people do when they go to the south of. France and we did the the uh the. touristy thing and and looked in a book. all the places that you're supposed to. go and one of the places that my wife. saw that you're were supposed to go was. on there's you don't pronounce the S if. you're an American you do on and the.

Picasso uh there's a Picasso Museum in a. castle that he stayed in for a while and. I I'll just say that I was equally. fascinated not only by seeing some of. Picasso's work like right there and. accidentally brushing up against some of. it and being. reprimanded yeah like Priceless work and. you like your hoodies brushing up. against lines on the floor but also they. had pictures of him making the artwork. in the castle where The Muse that we.

were. in was yeah so it was cool to see the. documentation of him making the things. that I was seen I found that equally. satisfying and intriguing to me yes so. we were inspired we talked a little bit. about that but one of the things that we. saw as we were exiting Museum was a. sculpture of a bunch of guitars uh put. together uh and we had looked at a book. inside of the the the gift shop by this. guy this sculptor named Arman who was a. guy from niece uh which is right there.

close to where we were staying no he's. not Picasso but his work was in the. Picasso Museum in Picasso Museum's from. nearby and he's got that sculpture. that's going on the way out and we. definitely both took note of this guy. independently we were both drawn I mean. there were a couple of pieces we were. drawn towards him oh it's the same guy. same guy I happen to find the book in. the gift shop and it was just. enthralling and since we have returned. from France I've done a little research. on Arman a little digging if you will. for even more inspiration really yes.

okay and what I have found is that this. guy was actually he was born in N like I. said he was born as Armand with a d. Armand Fernandez and he was a painter. who did some unusual Styles and stuff. but then he became well known for his. accumulations which was him taking a. bunch of the same object whether that. was guitars or whether that was like. drain pipes or uh gas masks or he did. all hammers axes and he would put them. all together in this formation to create. these accumulations and that's what he.

became really popular for and he also. did this thing called like framable. piles of junk is is the way that you. would categorize it if you didn't know. anything he did this one thing that was. the word for trash bin in French it's. like puel or something like that and it. was essentially just plexiglass filled. up with trash he became very popular for. these. plexiglass trash bins now you may think. okay it's like an ant farm if the ants. were really sloppy right.

and and the then in the book we saw and. I've seen this online as I've been. looking at uh this stuff this guy made. he made one called uh long-term parking. yes over 60 feet tall it's a bunch of. cars that he literally put together in. concrete and sent this pillar of cars up. 60 feet it's somewhere uh in France I. would love for that to be in my backyard. I mean I could like I I know this would. probably be defacing the art but it's. I'd love to climb on it well but you. wouldn't have there would not be a lot. of room for anything else in your.

backyard if you had a 65 foot tall. cement car sculpture well vertical I've. got plenty of vertical space but okay so. I've kind of painted the picture uh no. pun intended as to who this guy is as an. artist right and I want to say that we. get to do an incredible thing right we. we make YouTube videos for a living uh. our creative freedom and the amount of. stuff that we get to create uh there is. no um we're not dissatisfied in that at. all this is this is very much a dream. job but you think about these artists.

like uh Arman and you and you read about. this guy and the way that he thought. about things he kind of went off into. his own little world and he was like I'm. going to put trash into plexiglass it's. like something you don't even when we. don't think of YouTube videos that same. way and so I Envision a time this is. where my idea for us comes in right okay. I Envision a time as we get older we. transition out of this and we transition. into sculpting now St with me here I.

have a couple of key things that I want. that I want us to do number. one being inspired by Arman I would like. to well first of all I just want to I I. don't I don't think we should pit this. as when we leave this behind because you. know then they're not going to be for. this let's keep the show going do it on. the side but let's do this and it become. more of we have margin to do both if we. didn't do other things here's the key. thing though we got to drop one letter. from the end of both of our names I'll. still be Rett because I got two T's to. give you'll be. Lyn Rett and Lyn well depending on the.

other ideas you have I'm open to it well. you can still be link we can still be R. and Link on the internet but can we be R. and Lyn in the sculpting world it's key. this is key why can't you just give up. two T's and I get to keep everything re. and Link no we got to do what Armon did. we got to get rid of one letter it's. part of the system we'll get rid of your. first letter so it's het and Lyn okay. that's it het and Lynn I wanted to get. rid of one of the te cuz I got two to. give L hat okay here's the second thing. I want to do this is the gimmick part. cuz so got to have a gimmick got to get.

people interested in this you know how. our logo we face back to back right I. believe that as artists as sculptors we. we should face back to back we can. patent a shirt really it's just like a. shirt with four sleeves in it we we're. back to back so let's do this get back. to back with see okay but it'll be a. shirt that we wear oh in real life we'd. be back to back in real life we would. have a four uh hold sleeve shirt that we. would get into it'd be hey we wear one. shirt you hear about those guys Rhett. and Lyn they're out sculpting Lin linen.

hat whatever we we'll work the details. out and then we people will be like yeah. they're out in the French Countryside. today wearing one shirt you you'll be. able to spot them and they're sculpting. and the way we sculpt is I never know. what you're doing and you never know. what I'm doing no no no no the working. on the same thing so no no so you work. on you work on it for a while oh I'm. working on it you work on it and then we. flip a ro and we flip around and then. you work on what do you think about what. I just did no you can't talk that's part. of the system we don't speak R and Lyn. never talk to each.

other they just pick up where the other. one left off basically Lynette you could. just call us no we got to be two we're. two guys but we wear a one four sleeve. shirt okay that's just kind our name is. Lynette that's the kind of the beginning. hold on we we got to get along better. because we can't talk once the sculp. thing starts we don't have a. conversation every other time we. alternate who starts so you work you. could work for days some spit I'm sorry. I'm excited you can work for days and. I'll just be out there just looking at. the people and then I'll turn around and.

be like oh he went there oh let me see. where I can go with it and then I work. for days I love it I love the idea. Lynette so what we need to do is while. the other person's not sculpting you. could be making the show the internet. videos combine the two okay you think. I'm making this up I do want to sculpt. with. you but first I have to put on a shirt. that you're already in there can be a. pad in between us you don't have to it. doesn't have to be flesh on flesh it can. be there can be like a look be a sheath.

in there I'm fine with the shirt too. what's wrong with Lynn a lot of dudes a. lot of guys who are great giving nothing. in terms of how your name is pronounced. no but it's just one t a lot of guys who. a great artist have a female name I have. an aunt Lynette and ly she great Lyn. Buzzard think about he's a man we know. him it's it's a good name it's not about. not liking my name it's about us equally. giving up things okay I'll give up both. te's I'll be re re and Lynn can we call. us Lynette and then I'll SC anything you.
