5 Tips for College Freshmen

Does that. make sense? Questions of advice. We. don't really sound like guys who are. qualified to give advice because you.

freshman? Okay, best advice for a college. freshman. We were both at one time. college freshman at NC State University. Go Wolfpack once. Uh we were dorm mates. We were friends. It was great. Roommates actually. Uh well, we were in a dorm though. First. piece of advice, don't ride a bike. My. friend Will Thomas was riding a bike. across campus trying to get to his. class. He hit a curb, fell on his face, and he's got a scar that you just can't. help but look at every time you see him. He's still a great guy. I mean, uh, he's a he's a good guy. He's.
probably watching. How about ride ride a bike with a face. guard? It's really faded in. I can barely see. it. Two, uh, piece of advice number two, wear flip flops in the shower. I got a. fungal infection uh, from the shower. that lasted years upon years. It was. horrible. You could smell it. They itch. They. Are you going to name names here? Yeah. Uh, no. Just It was other people. in the dorm, you know, other people with. fungal infections that gave it to me. flip-flops in the shower, please. Yeah, I gonna mention Tim. Uh, piece of advice number three, build.
a loft. My biggest request, shoot, I. don't mean to say request, I mean to say. regret. Why did I say request? My. biggest request is for you to give me. advice on how to speak. My biggest. regret in college is not building a. loft. And by loft, I mean like a. glorified bunk bed. I mean, it's pretty obvious why, right? I have no idea why. Well, because it's like a bunk bed, dude. We We We had a bunk bed and freshman.
year. You slept on top. Oh, yeah. Freshman year. That's what. we're talking about. I'm undermining. this whole thing. It would have been no different. But it wasn't a loft. You were a loft. I was, but you were underneath me. I. wanted my desk underneath. in a different in a different bunk. In a different bunk. Here's my advice. This is going piece. number four. Um, who else wants to loft? Who's with me? Every once in a while, McDonald's does a. uh like a special where they sell the. Big Mac for really cheap, like at least.
they did in Raleigh. 59 cents for a Big. Mac. I don't think they do this anymore. I would I would buy a dozen of them, put. them in the freezer, freeze them, and then every day for. lunch, sometimes lunch and dinner, I. would I would thaw them out. And by dor and by freezer, this is what. he means. He means our dorm refrigerator. that you would open the door, it's this. big. You open the door and it has that. little metal thing at the top that's. covered in frost. One day I'll come home. from economics 101. I go back into the.
dorm room. I'm Oh, I'm going to get a. mellow yellow cuz I drink a lot of. those. Our whole bottom of the dorm room. fridge was filled with those. The whole. top was just jammed packed full of. cardboard boxes with frozen Big Macs. inside of them. Yeah, it was awesome. Said Rhett has gone to McDonald's. I. didn't I didn't eat any of those. You. don't They're not microwavable, dude. yet they respond well to the microwave. My fifth and final piece of unexpectedly. awesome advice for you, a college. freshman, or if you know someone, you. should share this with them. Um, first.
day of classes, this is happening right. now. Make up your mind to talk to that. girl who you noticed on the first day. You got to do it in the first week of. classes because after then it gets. awkward. Get, you know, you just start. seeing her from a distance and just kind. of gawking at her and. I can relate to that. Never never talking to her. Uh, Holly. Evans was in my English class. You. remember her? I decided to talk to her. the first day of class because she was. pretty. And she became one of my writing.
partners. And then, lo and behold, she became a. smoking model. And by that, I mean, I found pictures of. her on the internet smoking cigarettes, but as a model, I showed them to you. Remember, she was it was like some kind. of. I I turned them into posters. It was a. Middle Eastern ad for cigarettes that. they had gotten models from the college. I think you should probably retract that. whole piece of advice. I mean, talk to a. girl because she might be a smoking. model. Do we have any other requests for.
advice? Yeah. On Twitter, David MLW says, "I. need some advice on how to enjoy. exercise thoughts.". I got no help for you here. I do. You should eat while exercising. I. mean, if you're on a treadmill and. you're act and you're eating ice cream. at the same time, you're gonna have a. good time. You know, if you go, you. know, if you go drive, everyone around you is going to have a. good time pointing and laughing. If you go go to the gym and you're like. on the treadmill and you got like a. pizza, everybody's going to think you're an. idiot, but you're going to have a good. time. You're going to have a better time. than that dude who's like, I got to burn.
