Trump calls for UPRISING in Iran as US military obliterates IRGC assets
Meanwhile, the 7 minutes after the top. of the hour, US military launching new. retaliatory strikes on Iran as President. Trump says the Islamic regime is playing. out the inevitable. Chief foreign. correspondent Trey Yingst is live from. Tel Aviv with the details. Good morning, Trey. >> Yeah, hey guys, good morning. The United. States unleashing a series of air. strikes against southwestern Iran. overnight. According to CENTCOM, a. variety of IRGC targets were hit. including air defense sites, radar. systems, maritime assets, mine-laying.
capabilities, and communication sites. President Trump told Fox News overnight, "If they do respond, they'll be hit much. harder. This is a very big hit today. If. it goes a third time, they're going to. be totally wiped out as a country." The. Iranians did end up responding with the. US coming under fire in multiple. different countries. They launched 13. ballistic missiles at US forces in. Jordan. They also targeted the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq with missiles. and drones. >> You know, my military. >> The offensive operations against the.
Americans will continue in a decisive. manner until they regret their crimes. We warn that continued American. provocations in the region will be met. with heavier, broader, and more. destructive responses. >> The president posting to Truth Social. after the exchange of fire saying, "I'm. not trying to force Iran to the. bargaining table. I like our position. now much better with almost total. control of the Strait of Hormuz Strait. and their economy totally collapsing.". The president goes on to say, "They are. just playing out the inevitable. When. are the Iranian people going to rise up.
and fight?" These comments come as US. sanctions continue to pressure Iran. The. Iranian rial is continuing to devalue. with it now standing at more than 2.1. million rial to a single US dollar. The. US naval blockade of Iranian ports is. also adding to the economic strain. >> What Secretary Bass is doing is. unprecedented and he's attempting. to isolate from Iran all of their. revenue sources. to cause true economic peril to them on.
a scale that we've never seen. They're. isolate a country financially and. economically and all of their networks. and just shut them down in that sense. And I love the objective that he's. trying to achieve here. It's economic. collapse of the nation. >> The region now waits to see if and how. the United States will respond to the. Iranian attacks on US forces overnight. Guys, >> Wow, very fluid situation. Thanks so. much, Trey. >> Appreciate it. >> Scott Bessent described it in an.
interview with Larry Cudlow yesterday. that it's like when you cut the head of. a snake off, but the snake still thinks it's alive, but they really aren't and eventually. they will. the tail will stop going and they will. realize that they're completely done. He. goes, "It's a slow process, but Iran is. officially done. They just don't they're. not aware of it yet.". >> I'm just so glad we're stopped with this. for the the ridiculous talks because. there's nothing to be believed by what. they say or agree to. So, that's why I. just salute the president for his.
patience in doing this. >> All right, the US military launching. large-scale retaliatory strikes on. Iranian targets after IRGC attacks in. the Strait of Hormuz and against US. allied bases. So, I spoke with Secretary. of State Marco Rubio just after those. strikes were announced. >> That ship in many ways has sailed, no. pun intended with regards to the strikes. because if you think about it as a. moment I mean at the at the core issue. here is they're never going to have a. nuclear weapon. I have to remind people. that continuously. This is all about the.
fact that they want to possess a nuclear. weapon and threaten the world with it. and we'll never allow that to happen. >> And I mentioned the fact that the. president of Iran came out and said, "We'd like to get the. MOU back intact." And he said, "Forget. that." The Secretary of State did. Meanwhile, President Trump now sending a. stark warning to Iran posting on Truth. Social this in part, "If the failed. nation of Iran retaliates for the very. justified attack, they will be hit again. and at a much harder and higher level, there'll be very little left of the. Islamic Republic of Iran. Let's bring in.
retired four-star general, Fox News. senior strategic analyst General Jack. Keane. General, I know you've always. said there were 20% of targets we didn't. hit on that on Epic Fury 1. Are you. happy with uh. Operation Epic Economic Fury 2 perhaps? Are you happy with this tactic? >> Yeah, very much so. I mean, what. Secretary Mnuchin is doing is. unprecedented. He's attempting. to isolate from Iran all of their. revenue sources.
to cause true economic peril to them on. a scale that we've never seen. They're. isolate a country financially and. economically and all of their networks. and just shut them down in that sense. And I love the objective that he's. trying to achieve here. It's economic. collapse of the nation. What's not stated is what the objectives. have been in the past to obtain a good. negotiating position with the Iranians. That's not the objective here. And I. think there's a realization here and.
likely after what Senator Rubio just. said reinforces it because it was the. MOU where there was a deal in it. Open. the Strait of Hormuz, we removed our. blockade accordingly and the Iranians. four or five days later violated it and. began to disrupt the Strait of Hormuz. again. I think there's a realization that. even if you do negotiate with this. regime and they make a deal, which they. did in the MOU, both presidents signed. it, they're not going to comply with it. So, if that's the end state, a.
negotiated settlement, and we refinance. the regime as a result of it, they would never sign anything and. unless we remove sanctions and remove. frozen assets and give them money to. recover, what does that really get us? It gets us passing. passing the Iranian regime to the next. administration to cope with it. That's. not where President Trump is. And it's. not where he started, and I don't. believe it's where he's going to finish. And I think Secretary Besson has put us. on a path here.
to attempt to achieve their economic. collapse. And if we have to use military. capability in addition to that, I. believe that President will come to that. decision. He will not pass this problem. on. to the next administration to solve it. as it was passed on to him after 47. years to solve the problem. That is the. path we're on, and I think Secretary. Besson has got a excellent vehicle to. move us in the right direction. >> So, I see we're slowly opening up the. strait. We're getting about 30 to 35.
tankers through. We got to get up to. over 100. I get it. Yesterday, for the. first time in one of our in two of our. strikes, we hit their tankers. Instead. of just turning around the oil tankers, we actually struck them. So, I think. that's significant. The question is. who's helping them. So, I asked. Secretary Rubio. The fact that Vladimir. Putin yesterday told Iran, "I'm here to. help you." What's our response? Listen. >> Nothing that anyone is providing Iran is. in any way impeding our ability to act. as necessary to protect the United. States. That said, it is clear that.
within the case of what Iran is doing, we are not necessarily fully aligned. with the Russian position on it. But but. Russia's got, you know, and Putin's got. his own set of problems that I I I think. take up the majority of his time and. focus, which is, you know, the the the. war in in with Ukraine, and and frankly, the impacts of these Ukrainian strikes. are having on the Russian economy in. combination with sanctions. >> General, should we be doing more. to push back on Putin, who arrogantly. says he's helping Iran?
>> Oh, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Putin is under pressure now in a way. that he hasn't been. He's in his fifth. year of war, and he has [clears throat] not been able. to make any sizable tactical gains in a. year. Just incremental gains. The Iranians. have actually taken some territory back. And their strategic targeting of Russia, deep into Russia, their oil refineries. and their missile bases, etc., are. clearly taking an economic toll as well.
as a military toll. What Putin has and. what he is using is ballistic missiles. to attack the Ukrainian people. And he's. producing those casualties daily. Anything that we can do to help to. intercept those ballistic missiles. They're knocking down 90 to 95% of the. drones and taking out the cruise. missiles. It is the ballistic missile. problem that the Ukrainians have because. of the lack of PAC-3 the Patriot. interceptors. Anything that we can do to.
help them. And there are some things. that we can do. Give them a less capable. Patriot system. Also, accelerate the. development of other systems that can. deal with that problem. Putin is trying. to break the will of the Ukrainian. people and force the government to. capitulate. It is not going to happen. The Ukrainian people are steadfast. They. know they're fighting for their entire. livelihood here. And also, the pressure. of sanctions on Putin and taking.
everything away from him economically. and financially at this time is. significant. For the first time, Putin. cannot replace the people that he's. losing on the battlefield. as a. result of voluntary recruitment. He's. like likely have to go to some kind of. mobilization to do that. Gives you a. sense of the challenges that he's. facing. Remember, in his mind, this was going to be over. in 2 to 3 weeks. We're in the fifth year. and the tide is turning in favor of.
Ukraine. Quite a stunning achievement on. the part of the Ukrainian people, their. military, their capability, the United. States and the Europeans, all of whom. we've been assisting them in this. endeavor. >> Absolutely. And according to the ISW, which you run, 42,020 casualties in 1. month. Stunning. That's what the. Russians have suffered. General, thanks. so much. Truly appreciate it. Truly. admire the president's patience on all. this. Great to talk to you.
President Trump ordering fresh strikes. against the Iranians. The escalation. comes as Secretary of Treasury Scott. Bessent threatens more crushing. sanctions, warning the terror regime's. economy could collapse within months or. even weeks. Let's bring in Secretary. Bessent right now. Mr. Secretary, what. makes you think, because you see things. that we'll never see. What makes you. think that you're making a dent in their. wallets? >> Well, good morning, Brian. Good to be. good to be with you and the Fox and.
Friends team from beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. Look, you know, we we can see publicly. what the regime is saying. The the. president, the speaker of the. parliament, and the head of the central. bank have been making public. pronouncements that the economy's in. trouble. In a way, they're speaking both. to the public, but to the hardliners in. the IRGC to let them know that all all. is not well in the economy. We're seeing. three or four hour gas lines. And how is. this possible in a country that has the.
third or fourth highest energy resources. in the world? Currency's collapsed. Inflation's over 100%. They're not able. to pay their troops. So, you know, Brian, it is a powerful combination. We. had these 6 weeks of successful kinetic. strikes. Then we have imposed the. blockade, which is quarantining and. isolating the country. And now we are. applying sanctions like have never been. seen before that are going to asphyxiate. the regime. And we are telling our.
friends and foes, do not deal with this. evil regime. We know who you are, you. know who you are, and if we have to, uh, we will, uh, put you out of business. >> I I'm sure you saw that Vladimir Putin. yesterday appeared with the Iranian. officials and basically said, "We got. your back. We're going to help you out.". What's your message to the Russians? >> Uh, look, my my message to everyone is,
uh, stay away. We all want this conflict to end, and. the fastest way for the conflict to end. is the uh, for no one to provide any. support to this regime. We are going to. sever every tie that they have from the. outside world. For instance, last. Friday, we sanctioned the Dubai branches. of a an Egyptian bank, and they had. provided more than 1.8 billion dollars. to the regime since 2025. And we are.
going to systemically go through and. take every bad actor like that out. We've created new authorities for. Treasury to be able to sanction the. under, uh, aero- airlines, maritime, digital. assets. So, uh, this is all hands on deck. Uh, teams. from Treasury, State Department, and uh, DOW have gone out of the world, and we. are having very fulsome talks with.
anyone supporting the regime. >> China did not sign on with other the. other G20 members did sign on, agreed to. the statement, uh, that the Strait of. Hormuz should be open and should be. free. Does that concern you at all as we. get set to have President Xi come here. and meet with President Trump? >> Uh, no, look, it it it it doesn't. concern me. Uh, it was very unfortunate. what happened yesterday uh, for the G20. to have 19 members reach a consensus, and there there was more than the. straight burn. There there were things.
on critical minerals which China has. choked off from the world. There. there were provisions in overcapacity. and dumping that that and um. centrally planned economies that the. Chinese didn't want to sign on to. So, to get anything to get 19 countries to. agree on anything and they had agreed on. important matters. It's unfortunate that. the Chinese didn't want to come along, but you know, I I think they had that's. their choice.
>> So, Chevron announced they're on board. They're going to expand operations in. Venezuela after historic announcement. last week that we're going to be taking. a stake in their oil division and maybe. bringing more and more Venezuelan oil to. be refined on our shores. How. significant is it that Chevron's off the. sidelines? >> Look, I I I think Chevron has a long. history of operating in Venezuela. Mike. Mike Wirth, the CEO, has done a. fantastic job of navigating the regime.
of keeping a hold of Chevron's assets. during the kleptocracy of Maduro and now. they're coming out on the other side. So, no American firm knows how to. operate in Venezuela better than Chevron. and again, this is what President Trump. is doing. He is creating assets for the. American people. It is going to push. down oil prices, push up production and. it. Secretary Wright, the energy secretary,
said yesterday that he thinks that. Venezuela's production could double in. short order. That's good for the. American people, but importantly, it is. good for the Venezuelan people. They can. start reclaiming their assets from this. Maduro and Chavez kleptocracy that has. burdened them for the past 25 years. >> Yep, 47% of the country says the cost of. living is too high. What can the. Secretary of Treasury do about that. knowing too you got the Canadian deal. that they have walked away that was just.
about done and ready to go over the goal. line two Fridays ago. >> Well, Brian, let's let's let's walk. backwards from them. First of all, the. the Canadian deal has virtually no. impact on American prices. No impact. So, you know and Prime Minister Carney. has made a political decision uh that. the deal was on the one one yard line. He blew it up at the last minute. President Trump offered our northern. neighbors the most favorable deal and.
you know, he will have to come back and. I'm not sure. that the deal will be that good again. And look, prices are too high. The. American consumer got blown away under. Joe Biden. 21.5%. stated inflation, probably much higher. for working Americans. And they have we. are going through an energy shock right. now due to both the war. in Ukraine. because you know, Ukraine has decided. that they want to blow up Russian energy.
assets and refined products. So, that is. creating. upward price pressure on a global basis. and then the conflict in Iran and the. conflict in Iran you know, will will end. and prices will come down. Overall, prices are coming down. Core inflation. is very under control. But Brian, what. is important here is now under President. Trump, we are seeing real wage. increases. So, the. bottom 25% of wage earners wages went up.
4.7%. Inflation, headline inflation was about. 3.5. So, we are helping Americans slowly. get back on their feet. The. Iran conflict will end, but the wage the. wage gains will stay because the wage. gains are what Americans did not have in. the Biden administration. >> Well, continue success at the G20. Thanks so much, Mr. Secretary. Uh enjoy. North Carolina. >> Be sure to like and subscribe for all. the Fox News latest on YouTube and catch. full shows streaming now on Fox 1.
