RESHAPING WARFARE: Russia deploys AI-guided drones in Ukraine #shorts #foxnews #news #us
New developments in the war in Ukraine. Russian forces are now turning to a new. kind of weapon that could reshape. warfare across the globe. They're. deploying drones guided by an. experimental AI system rather than a. human pilot. One of which reportedly. killed three people earlier this summer. Joe Jones is at the big board to break. down how this frightening technology. works. >> Yeah, guys, listen. I just want to tell. you a little bit about where we've come. with drones just maybe over the last. couple years. If you all remember. Secretary of War Hegsth doing that video. where he had a bunch of drones pick up. behind him and fly over his head as he's.
telling everyone, hey, we're going to. start focusing on drones. That was. awesome. And he did as soon as he could. get into office and do it, but we're way. behind the eightball on this and. catching up rapidly. So, we want to tell. you where Russia is with this uh in the. Russian Ukraine war. So, if we think of. drones, most Americans think of these uh. copter drones over here, quadcopters. They they have propellers on them and a. camera and then you got it like a remote. control car using that camera. And we. know that AI is coming a long way in. just about everything. We know that. planes that can land themselves now, but. they still have a pilot sitting in the.
seat. So some of the characteristics of. those original drones, not all of them. are quads, some of them actually look. like this one, but you had a human. select the target if it were an. offensive drone. And it needed a signal. It needed to talk back and forth to a. remote or some sort of command letting. it know what to do. If there's a signal. in the air, that signal can be jammed or. it can be stopped. you can intercept the. drone through that signal that's coming. out of the drone and going into it. That. was its main vulnerability was that. signal uh and it can and it can launch. and guide autonomous drones from one.
that you're piloting. Well, Russia's. decided to try and fix that problem, that signal going in and out in walks. the AI drone. This is a drone and we'll. tell you more about it, but basically. inside of it are these computer chips. It's got a brain. It's got a camera. That brain uses that camera with uh geo. uh tracking and geom mapping data. inside. So terrain features, stuff like. that. And it can actually be launched. and then guide itself to its target and. then acquire its target on its own with. this pre-loaded data uh through these.
Nvidia chips that are in it. And that is. really scary because that takes away. your best way of defeating them, which. is jamming them. And it really gets it.
