I would never look at you. as anything other than my dad. >> And when I would see kids and their. parents would be at the games and I. remember when I was in college and their. parents would come to the game and I'm. in the league and I see their dad and I. was like, man, I wish my dad could be. here to see this. >> Yeah. Absolutely. >> No matter what, no matter if my dad My.

daddy would have had to do nothing in my. life. I made it. He got a house. He got. a car. He got everything. >> Yes, sir. And I think sometimes it's. hard. because a lot of times we view our. parents as our heroes. >> and then they want to be our heroes but. they didn't get an opportunity. They. don't they're not a hero. >> Yeah. Yeah. My that that's crazy. My. only my only goal for my kids is to. don't lie to them like being at those.

football games and he telling me come. and he don't come. >> Anytime I tell my kids I'm going to do. something, I make sure I do it. >> You going to be there? Yeah, I'm gonna. be there. Because that that's that's the. most hurtful thing in the world to tell. your kids you're gonna do something for. him and then you don't do it. >> Like we would sit out, me and my sister. would sit outside in front of that that. that house right there on on 7 mileing. grass and wait on that man to come and. he he never came. It was like waiting on. the ice cream truck. >> He just didn't come down our block, >> you know. So anytime my kids say, "Dad, can you do this?" If I can't do it, no,

watching dad all day. It it made me. proud to know that I did something that. >> my kids can. >> and they're proud of it. >> They proud of That's what Yeah. That's. some piece of advice that you would give. them? >> I would tell them, don't give up on. yourself. You know, that's why I started. my company, no self-doubt. Never doubt. yourself. Don't let nobody tell you what. you can't do. Right. >> Cuz it was it was a time my mom was. telling me like it ain't going to work. I was getting packages to my mama house. that said how David. Obviously, you know, having kids and having, you.

I tell I tell the people. around me all the time this when I even. outside my me want to meet my brother. I. was living with my granddad. I was 18. years old and I just graduated from high. school and I asked my grandad for $100. to buy some shoes and that man told me, "Stop begging. I have not asked a man.

for a dime since that day.". [laughter] He told you got to stop all. that begging, son. I ain't asked a man for a dollar, Shannon, since that day.
