US Taxpayers Are Her Sugar Daddy | Financial Audit
my name is Abigail I'm 20 years old I'm. based out of Fort Worth Texas and this. is financial audit you're young okay I. don't think we've had someone that young. for a hot second on the show interesting. okay very cool what do you do for a. living currently right now I'm doing. favor delivery so it's like door Dash or. Uber e how is that doing are you doing. with that it's it's good when I'm like. doing it like actually being consistent. so okay I have consistent y problems oh.
okay so why is that what you've chosen. then a job where you can make your own. hours if you have consistency issues I. think I just try to justify it by saying. like oh I'm in school and if I you're in. college mhm yeah I'm full-time right now. so I just think like well if I needed to. study or if I needed to not do this or. that then I could choose that but then. also I struggle with like you know oh. let me go do this instead that like I.
don't need to do like if my family's. like we're going to go see a movie or. something so that's really what I'm how. many hours a week are you. working I mean most you okay you're hand. shaking hard oh really I just want to. make sure you're good I'm okay I'm okay. um whenever I'm like oh the bills are. coming I can work like bills are always. coming I know how many hours a week are. you working um I. average M 20 uh and what do you think.
we're bringing in on average what how. what what's the payout for favorite is. it like a daily payout a weekly payout. weekly payout what are we bringing in on. average I averaged it and for this year. it's been like 480 you mean this year. it's been 3 days last year oh last year. sorry yeah okay so want to make. sure uh you said 480 yeah but then I. have. my a month no yes doesn't make sense why.
think about it well I have my school. loans too but like they're not on there. because like they're gone now but I've. basically been using those to live too. using the student loans to live I mean I. don't that's the thing what part of. living I'm okay if sometimes they pay. for some of the college costs no I don't. need to use them like I use them I know. that oh don't start off my new studio. with. this oh my poor heart this is supposed. to be a happy space a happy happy space.
so I know that I could make what I need. with favor but I I just that's my think. overall my biggest struggle like what's. got me in this situation is like. self-discipline and motivation and so I. think all around like with work and then. also with my spending you're averaging. mhm what I'm sorry where did you say you. lived Fort Worth okay I know you can. make much more than this yeah I can.
you're averaging basically and then and. then and then let's think let's think. maintenance for cars so this is before. maintenance this is before gas which is. going to take a heavy part off of favor. you're averaging. $767 an hour that you are. working um yeah but that that so when I. work and the reason I know I can make. more is because when I work everyone can. make more than that in for yeah it it. tells me like you made like 20 for per. favor 15 per favor and I can do like two.
an hour so it's just the amount it's. just the amount of working that's why. well that doesn't make sense that that. doesn't make sense if you're getting. that per favor then the hours you work. would translate to you getting that $20. per favor how many favors in an hour. that should translate okay so that's $40. an hour yeah in which case if the math. worked how what do you mean I'm just. working more hours why are you not. taking up more favors during that hour. like I'm confused so 40 times the 60. hours a month you work it' be $2,400 mhm.
substantially more so maybe I'm doing a. math wrong maybe well if you do two. favors an hour which is what you say you. can do how is working more hours. bringing in less money that doesn't make. sense because that's what you said you. said I'm not making it cuz I'm working. more hours what I might be missing. something what did I say I think I'm. probably missing something too um why. are you working so many hours of Mak. money and then why are we not. translating it to a better job 15 bucks. an hour maybe I'm not working that many. hours I don't know.
I'm sorry I don't like I don't calculate. the hours I just what do you mean don't. you just know if you look do you know. where your time goes on a weekly basis. my if you look back are you able to tell. me what last week it's hard cuz it's. holidays but are you able to tell me. what an average week looks like in your. life do you keep routines no I don't my. routine is my big bills come out. bills my most of my my bills come out in.
one week of the the month like things. that have to come out like I don't have. a choice like are coming out and so. that's usually like two weeks before. that is when I just work hard like I. should every week and then that gets. taken and then I don't have anything and. then just so you're barely. surviving yeah and you find that to be a. desirable place to be in no it's not. then why are you doing it because I just. don't push myself I just know that I. just why do you think you don't push. yourself.
I don't I think it's a skill that I just. haven't developed and okay so sorry go. ahead I just um doesn't mean it's right. but I don't think I'm n was ever. naturally inclined to have that um. discipline and also I was homeschooled. this is just theories I was homeschooled. so I didn't have that pressure on from. school so I just feel like those things. help build your like sense of. responsibility and selfcontrol and.
things when was your first job 16 okay. well that you think that would translate. to helping a little more in the. discipline side I worked I mean yeah it. does it did but I worked part-time like. there so I who do you live with I live. with my uncle-in-law I don't know okay. do you pay rent okay well that also. helps there's less of a fire under now. you're in school I'm okay with in some. instances not working dur in school I. think for many people they can work more. than they think I'm okay with student l. context it's a it's a not a black and.
white issue there it's a variety of. context that needs to be provided before. we say okay this is good this is bad so. what is disappointing me with what. you're saying is like you know you need. to work more and you're literally. choosing not to other than oh. something's about to happen and I need. to survive so I'm going to go make a. little more money right now so yeah $486. came in for faay for and of course then. there's gas.
then there's the car insurance and. there's a car bill and then there's like. I don't even think you break it even on. this to be honest no no I think that's. also what what about a coffee shop dude. a coffee shop I know I fast food I need. to get a a job where I have to go but I. just worry like this probably may not be. valid worry but I just worry about can I. juggle at all like and I know like you. have to work at favor but I think it's.
just a mental thing like you have to go. but like there's still that choice like. there's not a choice but there's a. choice well there's some places that are. geared towards college students I'll. speak I worked through Jimmy Johns at. Jimmy Johns for like five years geared. toward college students what they do is. per semester basis you fill out on a. slot of the open time positions on a. weekly basis it's a reoccurring schedule. like you sign up for the semester slots. that you want yeah and that's where you. show up every week so you know you can. balance it keeps you organized instead.
of them telling you once a week or once. every two weeks hey you're coming in for. this many hours at this date and you're. like well this thing's happening for. school and there's it's finals week and. this is bad and yeah you know you're. signing up you're committing. yourself what college you at TCC Tex. Taran County College we should be able. to cash flow. this okay um teren Community College. tarant County College TCC let's take a. moment to talk about something close to. our hearts family we all cherish our.

$69 a credit hour per semester like you. know if I took 13 hours it's 69 * 13 are. you sure yeah I mean I just signed up. for my classes recently you know how. insanely cheap that is MHM yeah there is. absolutely no reason we wouldn't be able. to cash flow that 900 bucks a semester. times the four semesters you'd spend. there. $3,600 go to Terren Community College. apparently my gosh shout out to Fort.
Worth in their Community College it's. incredible are you kidding me so what's. happening this is beyond upsetting give. yourself a score 0 to 10 Financial score. zero okay. great why why why are we in a Best Buy. credit card debt not only that why are. we putting purchases on a card that we. cannot afford to pay off because we're. gaining interest you put $140 on there. cool we should be able to pay that off. if we actually worked but you made a $30.
payment which is the minimum monthly. payment doesn't make sense so let's add. $2,000 of purchases $2,000 of purchases. yeah why and then interest to $32 now. and you've brought it to $2,000 on a. card where you only can go up to $2,900. so you're well over like that 30% that. uh you know drastically impacts your. credit now and now we have $53 minimum. monthly payment why are you spending on. this why are you building this up when. Community College is basically in the. world of college in the United States. free in a way why what is happening I.
think just. um probably well really just being lazy. and instead of going to get groceries. and having food for a week and a half. just going out once a day yes so um I. think that was just really the problem. with there what is going to change from. this conversation hopefully well for me. I'm I mean yeah um I want to feel more. of a sense of accountability because.
I've never talked to anybody about my. finances and nobody like really knows. like CU I just live with my with my. uncle and then my other family that like. my closer immediate family like none of. them like really knew that it was like. this for me so I feel who can keep you. accountable I need to keep I mean I. really need I need to keep myself who. can help keep you accountable though um. I was that's kind of why I want to come. here I know you can't talk me every day. but just like having some are there. people in your life like I'm me I'm a.
fat a good way for me to not be a fat is. if I come in every day and my film guy. who is not a he's a fit comes in and. it's like Caleb you're a fat today and. I'm like okay I should go not be a fat. that would help keep me accountable. people in my corner people who can help. me yeah do you have people in your. corner who can help you who could two. people came with you today yeah I think. if anybody it would be those two people. okay okay because yes accountability. you're right that would be a big changer. in your life but how do we go about that. is becomes a you know major.
issue yes we can change some discipline. self- Behavior things help keep yourself. accountable you're also 20 like it's not. excusable to immature to be immature but. if there's a time where it makes sense. okay fine it makes sense that you have. been maybe we can start becoming more. mature adult at this point but it's. always going to be so much easier if. there are accountability buddies who are. able to help us along the way yeah I. think I was just always kind of taught. like no one can help you but yourself so.
that's I think that my. grandmother okay she's like well if you. don't learn she live in like a. Mountaintop where no other human exists. I mean yes strange you are going to be. the one that's going to you take. responsibility you put the action in but. it's okay to lean on others in an. appropriate manner where you're not. taking advantage of them and they're not. enabling you yeah like there the we live. in a world what listen I get saying. saying are cute sing are fun but in. reality like if there's people that care.
about you and you know you're like you. know I've kind ofed up the early part of. my adulthood and I need to get together. so I have some chance of retirement in. the future uh a sense of being able to. exist in a. financial state that is well in the. future please help me please help me. that's an okay thing to do it's okay to. ask for help that's okay as long as. again you're not being enabled and. you're not taking advantage to someone. that's what I don't want to happen I.
don't want that position to be abused. speaking of abuse you abuse the of this. card and spending the money that you do. not have. $600 reminder $600 a month what did we. spend $2,000 on this card we can't even. come close to pain her off where did it. go went to Chick-fil-A getting waxed I. think we're okay with a little bit of. hair in 2024 new year new hair Starbucks. Starbucks Ross Starbucks raising K. Chipotle Starbucks Japanese pal. a Movie Tavern Galleria raisin canes zap.
kitchen getting some coffee Waffle House. Chick-fil-A crumble Chipotle Taco Bell. Chick-fil-A Wing Stop if we have to. borrow for school you know you're. subsidizing you're getting the student. loans to subsidize this lifestyle. student loans you should not have to. borrow no one should have to borrow in. the absolutely do you know how. incredibly blessed you are to have that. Community College that is so affordable. in your area and you're throwing it away. you are barring to pay for it taking. that money the extra money that you. really don't have in your job and.
putting on a credit card and having. interest AC crew this I'm sorry this. actually usually typically I'm not upset. of someone I'm upset at the debt because. okay they've accumulated the debt in the. process let's clean some things up let's. take care of it this is something you're. doing now and you are borrowing you are. borrowing from the government. potentially taxpayers you know depending. you oh this is you're going about this. in such an irresponsible way and it's. just like your actions are showing you.
just don't give a you just don't give a. you're I I don't I don't want to be mean. I don't want to be mean I have like an. ear infection so I'm being I'm being a. little like I can't hear out of this ear. right now I'm trying to give it a couple. days so I'm not thrilled but. um that's still ridiculous $2,000. on bull we bring in $600 a month and. that is it was 600 right or was a 400. it was like 400 was that yeah 480 and.
that's before gas and insurance and car. payments and maintenance and then we're. borrowing for school this makes no sense. you can't afford a single scent of this. a single scent of. this $32 of Interest was a cruit it's. going to get much worse than that it's. going to get much worse than that you're. on at. 31.4914.
I see a big part of M it was around your. age a little younger around your age. when I was in college and I was just. like instead of working at cash flow any. school I just borred what it took and. went to a four year university for. worthless degree still loved it but you. know that's not what it's about and then. I just swiped my credit cards fast food. every day and I was still fit and. looking sexy so you know that fast food. was like I a care it wasn't do anything. then metabolism died whoops but I was.
just swiping that card building up that. debt letting the interest acrw I didn't. care and I'm seeing that right now I'm. seeing the start of that cuz that card. was kind of new I know yeah and the. worst part was I you know I bought it. was maxed out and this summer in August. I had a summer job and I paid it off. completely why are you doing this to. yourself um you doing this to yourself. you're hurting yourself you're making. yourself have to work so much harder in. the future seeing how hard I had to work.
how hard I had to sacrifice to get out. of the debt that I built myself up in. seeing you go down that road is. devastating because I know how much. sacrifice it's going to take I'd rather. you sacrifice just a little now and. prevent yourself from going in that hole. instead of having to sacrifice for so. long and so hard in the future yeah and. I I feel bad cuz I know I'm kind of like. squandering all my these opportunities. that I have like I don't have to pay. rent and I have a cheap college it's. close to my house I don't have to drive.
far and I just so I do feel bad about. that well again I mean I have to ask I'm. trying to just figure some things out. and I know it's hard. to look internally and see but you feel. bad about it why the are you doing it. why are you not care at least when I was. doing it I was just being ignorant I. didn't feel bad I was like I'll take. care of this but I didn't feel bad about. the situation I just thought oh this is. what people do you feel bad about it you. know it's wrong you've paid it off. you've building it up yeah why do you. think. have you just given up have you given up.
probably I mean I'm sorry it's okay it's. a natural reaction seeing things laid. out for you the first time like ever. having someone give you the real talk. that is the most natural reaction to. feel and that's totally okay there's. tissues right there if you need them so. um. sorry don't don't apologize not for a. single second um that has been like my. problem for the like past four years. just kind of like knowing I'm hurting.
myself and just not doing anything about. it so um do you have a trouble do you. have trouble seeing your future I just. think I don't have any like self-esteem. or self-confidence so I don't care when. I think I'm just hurting myself. interesting so I I mean I am starting. therapy this month good so hopefully I. can figure out why it doesn't matter to. me yeah you know you you might not have. any. um you know a lot of people talk about.
mental health issues and you know I I. don't want to like I can't diagnose. anything I can't do anything like that. and I also some people you know. sometimes you have the gut feeling. they're using it as an excus as or as a. crutch some people you definitely have. the feeling that okay very valid you're. not using any mental health as excuses. what you're saying is you want to go see. someone and see what's up and I like. that I appreciate that and I recommend. that for anyone who feels like there. might be anything going on absolutely so. you're taking the actionable step and. that's good that you're seeing a.
therapist for the first time this month. because yes if there are self-esteem. issues if you're having a hard time even. seeing your future you're like what's. the point of even doing this you're. right finances don't matter for a single. second if you don't think anything is. going to have if you're just like what's. the point what's the point not worth. anything so what's I'll just ring up the. card it doesn't matter f it yeah it's. not valid it's understandable though. yeah I know that I'm just acted and it's.
it's frustrating because I've I've done. all of this within the last year or year. and a half so yeah that's why that's. really upsetting to me so it's upsetting. to me is this card yeah I know. $4,460 but we paid the minimum wory. payment congratulations and then we. spent more money on it even though we. can't even come close to paint it off it. was a Walmart trip who knows you can. never really tell what Walmart can be it. can be a Santa hat it can be a groceries.
yeah it was it was groceries I hope so. $78 of Interest was charged $78 that's. crazy now the balance is at. $4,463 and total credit available of. $46 yeah um I. don't I really I think I don't know why. I got such big credit limit on these. cards I'm kind of upset about it I know. I can't can't blame it okay I can't. blame it cuz I know I you spent the.
money yes but you're right for a young. person doesn't make sense no they're a. business trying to make money off you. yeah it it's the reality of the world we. live in we can complain about it we can. say oh this sucks I wish it wasn't the. system doesn't matter you're in the. system I'm going to try to help navigate. help you navigate the system you swiped. take responsibility you're a big girl. $122 minimal Mony payment which sucks. because basically a fourth of what you. bring in Pre any expenses that that you. need to take anyway so you're yourself. with that just the minimum monthly.
payment alone add the other minimum. monthly payment a third of your money is. gone again before any expenses that come. with it total interest charged this year. last year was. $654 it's insane it's insane at least. this one's at 21% woo low interest rate. great saving 10%. there oh okay Chrysler Capital I'm. assuming this is a car yeah me it's it's. half of your payment it's half your.
income I'm sorry what are. you stress resp I don't know stress. respon I'm laughing now instead of. crying so I do this is another not smart. decision because I me and my mom. together we made a down payment of. $112,000 so now I realize I could have. gotten a cash card probably yes with. that yes you could so you could have. well have gotten a cash card when was. this when was the purchase March last. March you could have got you could have.
definitely gotten a car that could have. safely safely gotten you around would. have lasted a while and would have had. air conditioning would have been. luxurious by any means no but doesn't. matter I don't give you're 20 as long as. it's getting you safely around for a few. years with air conditioning in Texas. we're good to go what is this car it's a. 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Santa Fe. okay. you owe $8,000 on this thing yeah the.
minimum of the payment is half the money. that comes in 200 2003 uh $2. 23668 what's the interest on this thing. I have no idea I I tried to look look. you have credit karma in rocket money. does that show you your credit score is. that what you're looking for download. Credit Karma real quick Credit Karma. yeah connect to our guest. Wi-Fi Find You Credit Karma you said. download the app yeah is it right it's. the one called Credit Karma after you.
search credit I'm sorry I just saw this. into it and I was like I don't know if. that's right cuz there's lots of oh okay. how many miles around this car I know 10. and something thousand you really no. goodness where' you get this from oh. well did you get it from Chrysler. Capital no Moritz oh no I know when I. hear something that just sounds like. they swindled you they made money they. made money oh gross for that you're.
going to have to type in your social. security number you know that okay now I. do do you know your social security. number yeah yeah okay I know that it. won't do anything it won't negatively. impact your credit and no one it it's. it's private it just pulls up your. credit if I've frozen my credit on on. the bureaus have you yes cuz I got my. potentially per stolen really yeah. last Christmas that's interesting um. okay let me think how long is when is.
the payoff it's some I when I look on. the website or online it says. 2027 I I'm pretty sure it's yeah I see. 2027 see took a four-year loan. okay it's not the worst of the worst not. great but not the worst of the worst if. you looked online you should have seen. the interest right there as well I I did. I really I tried to look and I was like. I don't know why it's not are you loging. on your phone. on on my Chrysler my Chrysler oh okay I.
think your interest rate might be around. like 7. 8% I don't is your mom cosigned on the. loan my cousin what is this family just. completely financially intertwined I've. been raised by like four or five people. so she's like basically another mom to. me so well that might be why the rate. isn't above 10 as far as I can tell it's. rough. math okay what is this Ally thing oh oh. my gosh it's stupid it was so dumb I.
worked at a um at a dental office for a. little bit and so I was working. full-time for the first time and so I. thought I was. rich and I paid for laser hair removal. so but it's zero I mean I'm not saying. I'm not that it's. 0% and um I have to pay it off by. September of next year and you're still. paying it off while going to the waxing. place anyway so to the oh to that yeah. the different a different.
place okay I don't that's fine oh okay. well are you in yeah I'll take a. look I think uh it's it's about 78 %. so. okay not. great. okay so this is so this is. 0% yeah but there there's a difference. that I need to to pay off like cuz I. made sure that I'm not I see so you have. to to pay off.
1,559 by September. September is eight months from now your. minimum monthly payment is not going to. get there yeah I know that I know. there's a there's um I need you to do. 194 which doesn't make sense you don't. have the money. anymore when was this when did you get. this hair um last year last I'm pretty. sure yeah that's when I was at the. dental office last year but I know I. know it was a mistake and. 109 cuz if you don't do $194 a month all.
of a sudden the interest just hits you. have 2,651 at this point MH you're going. to go up $1,000 no let's put an extra. yeah I know uh 60 bucks towards it on a. monthly basis and not have to pay an. extra. thousand oh my gosh okay oh okay so. here's student loans so this is. interesting you've you borrow some money. you give some back no they take out the. money for a school and give me the. rest the total balance though says.
965 well there's no balance anymore like. I'm sending the statements for them but. like if I look on on my thing it's been. paid for so there's no balance there's. no oh this is your college yeah I don't. give a about this how much have you. borrowed um after I get uh for for this. semester in total would have been. 11,000 what what semester is this um my.
one fourth semester will you be done. with all gen EDS with the end of this. fourth. semester like all my Basics yeah um. should be I have to go I have to go to. school this year to finish my Sciences. to apply to hygiene school so I still. need to take chemistry school I want to. do dental hygiene oh very cool through. TCC so okay yeah yeah I need to do I. need to go to school this year yeah so.
we said it was $900 a semester right. yeah so 2,700 is what you should have. paid so far but you borrowed 11,000. 11,000 what I should have paid that's. what tuition would have cost according. to. you what oh like so yeah I'm borrowing. more than what I need I'm taking more. than what I need yeah bu more a lot yeah. more is a number yeah or a word yeah. $8,300 more. you don't have rent mhm what is.
happening where' the money. go I what are you doing yourself hurting. myself so I was just I think I had this. is not the right mindset but this. mindset of like if I'm being offered. money well I'm I'm doing myself harm by. not taking it what how does that make. sense I'm doing myself harm by not. taking it at least explain it well I. didn't want want to I I I did it but I. was like when I was first first like.
offered loans I was like no I shouldn't. take this out but then my family was. kind of saying like but you have it here. you have this money that they're going. to give you so why not take it go well. and I just gave the average American is. dumb as comes to personal finance we can. we should not listen to the average. American damn it I know you wouldn't. know that you were an impressionable kid. when this was happening you were like 18. right 17. 18.
okay. ah ah. stop stop stop boring you don't have to. how many credit hours are you in right. now. 13 okay 13 credit hours and then it's. full I know you can work an extra. I let's say you make 11 hours an hour an. hour at a coffee place in Fort Worth. which would not be too difficult I could.
make 15 like the. minimum yeah let's get you 15 15 hours a. week 15 hours a week really that's it I. thought you going tell me to work like. 40 hours well I I'm trying to make this. realistic with your 13 hours of school. I'm just I I want to ease you into this. work as many hours as you can absolutely. but let's just start at 15 times that by. 15 * by 52 divide that by 12 give us an. average of. $975 a month you have no no rent you. have no rent now your debt minimum.
monthly payment bills sucks butts I need. yeah I need I know I need more than that. I have a a budget written out but it's. just sitting in my phone there's no. point of making a that's why we're. sending you through our budgeting. program best online seriously at the. most affordable price but it's like. actually go through it it helps you. build the budget that makes sense for. you in your situation as a student. because we do uh applicable to a lot of. different scenarios and it helps you. stick to it because the psychology part. to it is like one of the major aspects.
so seriously go through that please. please okay because this is spank. checking dollar a do I'm sorry I'm sorry. this is why this is me showing you why I. make exactly what I need and then it all. comes out but you don't make what. exactly what you need you don't make. exactly you I spend it on the credit. card yeah well no you spent on your. credit card i' Say What You Need is $900. a semester we can get ,000 a month. pretty. easily so no you do not make what you.
need getting pasta pizza they refunded. me that because I don't know why they. randomly I'd cancel that a long time ago. and then I called them past the pizza. yeah I'd cancel that in your own life. Central Market is an expensive way to. grocery shop for someone in your. position what was that what was the. price on Starbucks as well Central Mark. was n bucks and then you went to. Starbucks I get coffee there I don't. need to get that all the time I just go. get my ground coffee so a standard bag. like I I go pour the beans and pour it. in the grinder and do cuz I have a. French press so I get the just coarse.
ground coffee listen I am a I want you. to have good coffee probably can't. afford it right now I think we're going. to AGB getting a cheap coffee okay. getting some. folders I'm sorry it sucks but like. literally again you can't afford to. survive so then we have $ Z in this cash. app thing but what do we do cash app. payment Chick-fil-A cash at payment cash. at payment cash at payment Chick-fil-A. cash at payment Sushi you have to cut. this out this this all becomes zero at. this point 10 cents in this other. banking why do you have so many.
different banking so what um there's 23. cents in this savings two checkins and. two savings um I keep 10 cents so they. don't close but why who cares if they. close they're not giving you any good. cash back anyway any good interest yeah. I I like to have my well for me I feel. like I like to have my things like very. separated so like but there's nothing I. know there's nothing but like my cash. app card that's supposed to be for. groceries and then my venmo card was.
supposed to be for like separating my. gas money but I don't I don't have any. talking about separating I need to. uh prevent your endless separation from. reality because right now you're. spending 25.2% of your money on going. out to eat of your spending but here's. the fun fact here's the so fun your fun. fact of the day is your total total. spending was $2,394 remember how much. came in I'll remind you.
$486 yeah I know $2,000 is more than. that I know okay yeah good tolls I. wouldn't be taking tolls and I might. have an accident it might have been an. accident can't speak for everywhere in. the country but I know in Texas you. don't absolutely need to yeah makes it. more convenient absolutely your spending. is crazy then the unknown shopping. spending uh that was Oriental Market in. Walmart and if that is groceries then. that's insane cuz you're spending more. than you need to on grocer groceries and. then you're spending even double that. amount on going out to eat so this is.
insane the amount of money you're. spending on food's ridiculous yeah I the. taito's in extra miscellaneous. 6.8% 6.8% that's the going out to movies. blacksmith well that's kind of. reasonable but that was 21% lock. yourself out of something I lost my key. I'm I'm having problems and then it cost. you $100 more than you bring in on a. monthly bases yeah I don't think we can. afford to lose Keys anymore keep that No. I gave one to my cousin and I have. yeah this is wild this is wild this is.
overblown I'd love to give you a budget. I'd love to give you a budget tell you. how to get all but you've created. yourself a budget but doesn't even make. sense you bring. in and gas how much was gas let's. see I we didn't catch we didn't add up. gas why did we not add up gas but car. insurance is. $212. yikes so your rent zero your car you pay. anything towards utilities or Internet. or anything. all right is are you good to stay there.
as long as whatever yep. okay car insurance. $212 my. goodness debt Min monthy. payments of course your student loans. you'll have to pay back at some point. and I don't think you need to take on. another single scent if you're doing. everything through that Community. College including the dental thing you. talked about your. debt. $65 food you can do $300 at the grocery.
store meet all your caloric needs plus. snacks and desserts it's pretty fun. you'll figure that out in the budgeting. program you'll see. and not giving you any money for. subscriptions because you already don't. have enough money doesn't make any. sense gas what 200 bucks a month 100. bucks a month where where you at I mean. that that's what I said because of favor. but if I work yeah no favor yeah if I.
work somewhere else it's like they'll be. like 5 minutes away from my house so I. would 50 bucks a month that would fill. up once um well so it takes 20 minutes. to get to school and back I go four days. a week and then I'd be driving to work. think about 150 bucks a month probably. sucks okay any uh ongoing Medicals just. go at put 10 for. meds you're on your parents health.
insurance I don't got. those they don't have health insurance I. don't have those well I have my I have. my mom. but I I just am with um JPS Connect so I. have my own like I just can only go to. JPS so that's the where I go for all my. stuff JPS is a place you go to it's a. hospital yeah and they have a connect. program so I I qualified so so I can get. my $ Z yeah you can do anything well.
they have my sheet of like what I can do. but my doctor about the upcoming therapy. no yeah that's covered it's just my meds. I my M thing yeah yeah so your parents. don't have health. insurance my mom does Uber so I don't. think she has a she has a insance she. still get health insurance well she. don't have it then I don't think she. does. okay. okay no rent no rent is insurance phone. bill oh.
Mom. okay anything else you have to take care. of that you can think of dog and cat 100. bucks a month 50 bucks a month what do. you. spend I haven't calculated it but what. do you do get them food so I else I buy. food for like me and my cousin buy food. for all the animals so there's six. animals so we buy food for them you. split it 50/50. evenly okay so you go buy food how.
often when it's empty I don't know how. often on average is that kill. [Music]. me month and a half I don't know we bag. we get the big bag cool how much does. that bag cost. $35 24 lbs and you do that once a month. and a half um you told me to tell you. something and I told you something got. once a month I know it's a while it has. to be at least a.
month so you spend. $17.50 person yeah I would but some that. sounds insanely cheap but. whatever oh and they're flea that's I. get them flea meds I get my dog a three. Monon flea pill that's like trust the. dog the then the cat gets her little fle. okay how. much every three months oh for every. three months um it's the total is like. for that is like. $65 for both for the for the dog and the.
cat I have it written down let me just. pull this up yes I would I would have. started there okay the cat flea meds I. that's a four Monon Supply is. $52 3 month supply for the dog. $65. anything else you have to take care of.
what do you have my have my food we got. car insurance debt groceries uh gas. medications uh the animal food then the. cat dog stuff also giving you toil paper. money anything else you really need to. take care of at the household or. survival anything like that of $100. anything else you need that is an. ongoing like major expense let me see my. written stuff so I can make sure. not um. I. do the um the reason I have a Microsoft.
subscription is because some I mean I. haven't figured out a way like I've. looked on the school one how to say what. to say what just why do you need it for. school to save my papers and stuff. they're like important to me and I can't. figure out how much. 757 wonderful so you need on a monthly. basis to survive BAS B Survival. $1,476.
196 yeah so your needs are. 150% wait 300% of your income I know. it's that good no I would say it's not. good yeah that's. a okay so here's what we can do if you. want I'd rather you not borrow a single. scent for school IID just work your ass. off work your work your ass off. I'd probably tackle debt obviously. minimum monthly payments as much as you.
can and then we go hard on paying off. the debt once we're after school and it. sucks the reason why is because the. amount of that we need to work in order. to cash flow is 900 bucks a. semester guys it's a new year and you. need to make your money work for you you. can do exactly what I literally do right. now and put my money in the best high. yield savings account SOI I get a 4.6%. yield on my money and I also took. advantage of the bonus of up to $250. when I signed up you can start 2024 off.
Amazing by doing the same by going to. the link in the description below you do. the summer semesters as well so this so. that's what I was going to try and say. this what's the word this July I'm going. to be taking chemistry so I don't not. sure how much I can work that's just. well it's like it's a beast like you do. a week it's a beast three credit hours. right four you do like a week's worth of. information a day and you take a exam.
your lab and your yeah summer courses. are in TCT but you'll have time have. time for work just T studying so I mean. if you say I'm going to have time I'm. you will have time am I saying you're. going to have infinite hours be able to. work 40 hours a week no but you'll have. time okay we got to get you at 25 so. 20 oh but that's before taxes not that. you would pay many but there's still. going to be it's you're still going to. have some withholdings okay before talk.
about favor you no no no no no. 25 hours a week gets you at your minimum. needs before. any taxes of which again I really don't. think you'd pay much but you'll get some. withholdings and then it'll come as a. refund and you'll think it's like you. got money or something but realistically. we probably got to get you to 30 hours a. week to meet basic survival. and potentially cash flow College while. only paying minimum monthly payments on.
the debts and not going further into. debt for other things and that's you. living your basic survival thing that's. not any fun money yeah and there won't. really be time for fun because you'll. just be college going to college. studying and working which really sucks. but you've gotten yourself in such a. hole where it's really the only option. there is the other option is we continue. putting everything on debt which I'm not. advising by any means and then 22 when. we're done with what you want to.
do every single scent of our income. other than rent and food is going to. paint off the debt as quick as we can. and that's something that's just going. to suck oh I would I would rather work. hard now before cuz once I'm once I'm. accepted to dental hygiene my hours are. going to be limited then twoo because. you go five days a week like like a. full-time job to school for two years. it will be like a full-time job and. you'll work weekends and evenings you'll. take like five classes a semester and so.
yep and you'll work every second you're. not studying it's just the reality it. sucks sucks it's so much easier to say. than do but I mean your reality is. you're doing you're working your ass now. or you're borrowing more money and. putting yourself in a worse situation. later but even you working your off now. only gets to the point where you're. paying minimum monthly payments you're. not making much progress on the high. interest debt but you're at least not. growing the balances to a point that is. going to be much harder in the. future man and the scary thing is I'll.
just be completely honest I mean in your. actions in your language and yes I'm. glad you're taking the step to see. someone of mental health glad you've at. least looked at creating a budget in the. past there's no sense of discipline. anywhere here there's no sense of. maturity here there's no sense of almost. even knowledge of our own situation you. didn't know you don't even know what the. dog food costs that you split uh it's. say. I'm scared man I'm scared I don't want.
to be Mr deie Downer but I'm scared what. what is going to have to be a thing is. you're just going to have to walk out of. here matur multiple years from where you. are and just grind now what can tend to. happen after a conversation like this. and I approach these in the same way. that I would like someone to have a. conversation with me uh you can get a. fire L under your for a month two maybe. even three but this is going to be a. multi-year thing you have the the what.
one more semester gen EDS uh or two more. semesters to gen EDS and two years of. the dental yeah okay so this is a two. and a half year situation can you stay. motivated two and a half years and then. you probably have a year on top of that. of grinding and getting out of the debt. you've already put yourself in and then. call it another year to get a six-month. emergency fund so we're talking what 4. and A2 years can you keep a fire under. your and just Prov event as many as. possible I'm not going to excuse. any what what do you think what can you.
do you think you're going to be able to. stay motivated to grind and restrict. yourself this much for 4 and a half. years. um I mean I want to like you know I said. I want to and I really want to push. myself but I'm that that's why I'm. trying to take steps to kind of help. myself want is great but tell me about. the rest I don't have belief in myself.
confidence but I know I need to do it. why why do you think you have you've. accomplished uh how are your grades. always that's. incredible see you've accomplished that. and guess what I'm better at personal. finance than you you're better at school. than me I'm a I hate it I I got I didn't. care school was not for me yeah you kick. my comes to that you clearly have the. discipline necessary to achieve good. grades go to school do the homework take.
the exams that was my least favorite. part you have the ability to buckle down. with that what you need to find. is the mo what what is going to motivate. you here is it the future is it. envisioning something is is there. something you want to get to what is. your ultimate goal in life what is it do. you have an ultimate goal something you. see your somewhere you see yourself. survive until I die nope incorrect I. mean we just that can't be a go that no.
if if that's the goal then if we're. surviving till we die then your action. of only making a scent necessary to make. your minimum monthly payments is all. you're going to be until you die and. you're never going to live that life of. abundance that you. should so that's just a mindset you have. to change that's why you got to tou to. your mental health person on that. because that's I mean I could say hey. that's a bad mindset change it but what. is that going to do you're going to need. to work with someone on that because. you're not in a healthy place if that's.
your actual future that you envision if. we can have goals and aspirations and. figure out what are the steps necessary. to get to those goals and aspir listen. you just said that and that gives me. zero confidence of you doing this it. makes this conversation pointless in my. mind to be completely honest so what's. the point of any of this if you don't. have a vision of getting out of debt if. you don't have a vision of having a. successful career if you don't have a. vision of having a home someday if you. don't have a vision of being able to. retire and do these different things. that you want to do maybe traveling or.
whatever yeah so I know that um I had I. worked when I my first job was I worked. at Chick-fil-A so you can't be lazy at. Chick-fil-A you work your every day and. I stayed with there for almost three. years so I know if I get back into. another job like walk-in job that if I. know I have no choice I have to go into. work this is what I'm scheduled we know. you could. I can do it so I can earn the money my. biggest problem would be stopping myself.
from not telling myself no about the. stupid stuff yeah yes no school has. proven that you can translate that to a. work schedule as well yeah that's not my. main concern I know you can sign up and. you can do the work what I want for. myself what what's your main concern I'm. sorry I tried to finish your sentence my. main concern is that okay you make a. little more money but that just goes. some more you just continue to build the. debt and you take subsidizing Yourself. by taking out more student loans I don't. even know if the student loans you're. taking out or subsidize or what cuz I.
didn't have the student loan statements. I had your college statements so I don't. I don't even know what kind of student. loans you're taking. out oh they're um unsubsidized. unsubsidized Federal M okay they're at. least Federal so I but that's why I want. to do hygiene cuz I know I'll make good. money with that so like I will have a. house that I the average entrance salary. the average I would say like 45 the most. I've seen is 5 5 an hour oh an hour mhm. yeah pay time off typically probably.
yeah with the dental office but it. depends on your doctor so you could make. in the 90s potentially 90,000. potentially your Buckle Down's going to. be what scares me yeah please you know. you know what this looks to me and I I'm. sorry I'm sorry that this has to addend. negative but there is no point of me. lying or saying anything that's just not. true what this screams to me is a. situation where we have this. conversation and then you come back 6. months from now and things not only.
haven't gotten better but they've gotten. worse and that's where this looks to me. based on your language your no hope for. the future just not caring I hope this. mental health thing works and you're. able to figure something out for. yourself but right now we're in a. position where this is only going to get. worse from here we're just seeing the. we're just seeing the start of something. disastrous and that scares me and that. makes me so. sad you are a human being on on this. planet you deserve to have a good future. unfortunately unfortunately or.
fortunately you know whatever it doesn't. matter um this is the reality that we. live in you do need to live in the. system that you yeah are in unless. you're moving somewhere so it's your. choices from here discipline or not it. is your choice from here to do the. things that are. required to live the life of abundance. or success or peace or security or. whatever it is whatever term you want to. live in your life it's your actions.
unfortunately with the language you've. used and everything you've said and your. lack of knowledge and your lack of. knowledge is just your own numbers I'm. not talking about lack of knowledge in. the financial system we can talk about. that and you're going to learn a lot in. the budgeting program but just not. knowing your own knowledge meaning you. don't even care of your own numbers I. think we're just going to get to a wor. spot and that scares me so please prove. me wrong please prove me wrong please. prove me wrong cuz I want you to have a. great future you deserve it as a fellow. human being on this planet. yeah I do want that for myself so that's. big reason why I'm doing this and just.
want to really like have it in front of. me like that I'm cuz I know I'm down a. bad path and I'd rather fix it now. then it get worse or not saying that I'm. glad anything's happened but at least. I'm more young and moldable you know. mentally mindset it's very true yeah. trust me I was a. many ways your age many ways and that's. okay past doesn't Define you currently.
you're right now absolutely defines you. um but I mean if I just sat and sulked. on every stupid decision on Every Act. thing I did in the past on every piece. of sh ever you know I my past is not. fantastic if I just sat and sulked on it. I'd never do anything in my life what I. do right now and what I do in the future. is what defines me our time is so. limited on on this Earth. so what haven't happened maturity issues. that has happened yeah when you leave.
that door right there that's your future. do with it what you will any final. thoughts um I appreciate your honesty. and I think it will help. me I think it will help me want to push. myself knowing that you're skeptical. other whether I can succeed or not so I. hope that I know I know it's a hope but. I really do want to. change well that's a Beyond obvious.
Hammer Financial score of Zer out of 10. she said it and I mean I couldn't agree. more make sure to check out all the. resources Linked In the description. below they are what I use or would use. in specific situations including the. best budgeting program in the history of. the internet that I wish I had 10 years. ago.
