link in the description below. >> Hi, my name is Scarlet. I'm 30 years. old. >> I'm Grant. I'm 31. We live in San. Antonio, Texas. [music]. >> And this is Financial Audit. >> Hey, thanks for coming up to Austin. Scarlet, what do you do for a living in. San Antonio? >> I am a stay-at-home mom. >> Cool. What kids? How many kids? What. ages? >> I love kids. >> We've got a 2 and a halfyear-old and a. 13-month-old. >> Okay. Okay. So, are we married? >> We are. >> We are married. >> Very good. How long have we been.
married? >> Uh 10 years. >> Oh, okay. And Okay. Well, deciding to. make kids now. That's fine. That works. Are there What? Yeah, we decided to wait a little bit. Make sure things worked out first. >> Well, that's okay. That's okay. I don't. know what the joke was, but that's good. And are there any more coming? >> Yes, I am currently pregnant. >> Oh, okay. Well, how how much? Cuz Yeah, just barely. That's what I was thinking. >> Yeah, just good for you. I wouldn't. honestly I didn't even know. Well, Greg,
you you better make some money, dude. Listen, San Antonio is definitely as far. as the metros go, large metros in Texas. the cheapest by far. But please bring in. some money. I'm doing doing my doing. everything I can on that. >> Are you probably not? >> Well, we'll see. I don't know. Um I. mean, I literally stayed up till like. 12:30. two days ago painting a wall. What the Okay. Oh, he stayed up to. midnight. Every gamer ever. What? Come. on. >> Well, I do kind of think about it that.
way sometimes. I'm like, well, I, you. know, sit on a video game for 14 hours. grinding for some piece of. gear. I might as well just be in real. life painting a wall or doing shower. tile or something. >> So, you're a contractor? >> Uh, pretty much. Yeah, I do anything. that somebody will pay me money to do, generally real estate related. Yeah. >> What is your job? >> Uh, well, I'm self-employed, but the. primary way I'm making money right now. is between real estate wholesaling and. uh and general contracting, basically.
>> How often are you busy? >> How busy am I? >> Yeah. How often are you getting work? I. mean, I'm pretty busy. I u working in. real estate. I kind of ended up running. into a rental management company and. they manage like 700 doors and so I can. be working. >> Okay. So, you help them. >> Uh yeah, basically they. >> you fix the that's wrong with their. rentals that they are managing, >> right? Yeah. >> Very good. How many hours a week are you. working? >> Um when I'm not sleeping, I'm working.
>> Well, that's good, right? Isn't it? I. mean, if there's only one worker and. there's another kid coming. Okay. So, give me what you're making. >> Um, it look I don't the the the short. answer is I have Look, the short answer. is I actually don't know. Uh, it's. somewhere in between. >> 10 and 15. >> Um, I've been busy for like 6 months, but I've been doing uh. >> What are you laughing about? >> I'm sorry. Yes, he has been busy for six. months. >> No. What are you laughing about? >> Well, a lot of it has been busy for free.
>> sometimes. >> Why? Um, well, >> are you just repairing? Are you like. mowing the grass, doing the hedges? >> No, I mean, I'll do like drywall, tile, flooring, you know, siding. Anything. that is on a house, I can pretty much. handle. U, don't tell the city, but I. can also do plumbing and electric and. all that sort of stuff, too. So, >> yeah. Well, you just did, but. >> yeah, fair enough. But no, >> what what was the issue? Well, he was. doing it for free. What? >> Yes. Well, it does take. >> Okay, so so part of my story is part of.
some one of my buddies stories. So, I uh. you know, I sell houses and so I was. like, "Hey, you know, >> as a realtor?" Well, you said wholesale. >> Yeah, I wholesale. What are you doing? >> Well, I'm a licensed realtor, but I also. pretty much primarily wholesale. I don't. do like traditional buyer agent, listing. agent sort of transactions. I do. >> wholesale transactions. So, >> put a house under contract. And. >> what are your thoughts of his career? >> Uh, I actually I I enjoy what he's. doing. I. >> You enjoy cuz you never have to see him. >> Oh. Oh, no. Absolutely not. Um,
no. I I think that he loves what he is. getting into doing, so I like. >> Yeah, I asked your opinion, not his. >> Yeah, that's fair. [snorts] H No, I I. think it takes up a lot of his time, but. um but I think I think he's doing what. uh Yeah. what he needs to do. >> right now. >> Is it working? I mean, it sounds like. it's been working for a few months. >> Yes, it's starting to work. I think it's. starting to work. How long was it not. working before it started to work?
>> Six months. >> Well, so it's been working for six. months. >> Probably a year and a half. >> A whole year and a half. No, actually. since he started it hasn't been working. >> Who manages the money? >> Mostly her on the personal finance. >> Okay. So, how much money is coming in. then? Actually, are you setting aside. money for taxes as he's a contractor? Why? >> Well, then you I hope you don't get a. refund for your kids. >> Oh, we probably won't. We we've never. gotten a refund in years. So, >> we haven't gotten a refund ever.
>> Yeah. I don't know why that always. happens, but. >> Okay. Well, you haven't taxes for last. year. So, [sighs and gasps]. >> look, I'm going to pay the taxes. Okay. >> Did you file an extension? >> No. >> Okay. >> Why? >> Look, because I was like, I'm going to. file a an extension. And then I didn't. uh because I was busy. I don't know. Cuz. >> Busy doing what? Clearly not shaving. your head when you need to. >> Damn. That's That's probably fair. Yeah, I get. >> Oh, it is. Look behind you. That is a. man who has committed and now he looks. better.
>> See, so I've told her that look, it's. going away. It's going to happen. Might. as well just don't. >> I don't care. Why are you not filing. your taxes? >> He handles the taxes. >> I thought you were the one who handled. the personal finances. >> I handled the personal finances. >> That is personal finances. You're a. self-employed person. >> No, he has handled the taxes. >> That is the personal finances. >> Yes. No. Well, yes. Yes. >> But I handle the day-to-day stuff. He. handles the bigger stuff. like the. taxes. I do not do the taxes. >> Look, the short answer of why we didn't. file the taxes is because we didn't have.
the money to pay who whatever amount. they would want. >> Why didn't you set aside money for. taxes? You should be doing estimated. quarterlys just typically based on last. year's taxes. >> I'm I'm vaguely. >> and you're doing better this year than. last year. So, the quarterly shouldn't. even be hard to hit. >> Yeah, I'm vaguely aware of the rules. I. don't know exactly how to do that. >> It's all pretty basic. I mean, is this. on the website on the IRS website? When. you do file, there's only or when you. click pay taxes personal, there's like. four categories. It's very easy. >> I use literally takes five minutes. No,
>> I hit the Turbo Tax, bro. >> That's even more complicated. >> That's what I'm saying. >> Maybe than not doing a return. It might. be better for a return obviously, but. Well, clearly you need a CPA, but more. than that, doing estimated payment is so. easy. >> Yeah. I mean, really, if I was to be. like, >> why would you not manage that if you. manage the household finances? That. makes no sense to me. Why your. household? >> Um, well, I don't think of it as my. household. >> Well, you stay home all day, so maybe go. on a computer. >> Whoa. All right.
>> What? >> I understand you do not have children. That's fine. >> Okay. You know what every uh dad has. ever said that goes from full-time work. to stay at home dad? >> Oh, it's the easiest thing ever. >> Yes. >> Oh, I know. >> That's what they all say. That's what. they literally all say when they go from. a workplace where they actually have to. manage and do real then they. come home and take care of kids. I'm not. saying kids are the easiest park in the. road, but they do find it to be a. vacation compared to actual work. >> Yeah,
>> that sounds about similar to some. conversations we've had, but uh that's. not wellreceived. So, >> okay, I'm sorry. It's not literally. every minute of every day. >> What do you mean my job? >> Having to micromanage them. You have. time. >> Yeah. to clean the house. >> I think filing taxes is actually more. important than cleaning the house for at. least like a few days. >> once a year. >> Again, whenever we got together, he has. always done the taxes. How's. >> that him? >> Yeah, that's you want to manage the.
personal finances. >> No, I don't want to manage the personal. finances. I want us to uh talk about the. personal finances together. >> Do we? >> Not often. >> Why? Um. >> what's the dynamic? what's going on. >> Basically, ever since we got into this, we kind of have just been um. unfortunately hands off with the. financial talks. Um because I'm too. difficult to talk to. >> Yeah. Basically, Fit hits the Shane and. then we were like, >> what? hits the fan and we were just like,
"Okay, we're going to focus on the fire. right here, right now." And uh you know, so basically whenever there's money to. spend or there's money that I'm bringing. in, I'm you know, I just I'm like, "Honey, how are we doing on bills?" I. know what I've got to spend on my. business related expenses. She knows. what we have to spend on our personal. related expenses. I'm like, "Okay, well. then I need to book that many dollars. worth of jobs and however much I have to. work to make that amount of money. That's what I'm going to be doing.". >> Okay. Well, you manage personal finances.
and you guys, I guess, don't really talk. about it very much. Tell me how much. debt you have then. Oh, >> like the. general general ballpark. >> Dude, how much debt do you have? What? >> Um, if I was to. >> First of all, I was asking her go ahead. >> Personally, I don't know a number. >> How can you say you manage the personal. finances of the house? >> Because in the day-to-day, I just pay. the bills with the money that comes in.
That is how I just manage it right now. >> That doesn't make any sense. Shouldn't. you know your number? How can you manage. it without knowing the number and where. things are going? >> When it comes to. >> make that make sense to me. >> So when it comes to the debts, we have. both of us have just decided we don't. pay those right now. We are paying just. what keeps the four walls open or up. Basically pay the utilities [sighs] and. >> you guys make too much just to be four. wall focused. So, you'd like to think. that, but the. >> Oh, I would like to think that based on.
the number you told me you make, unless. there's a different number of which I. can then change my opinion, but I'm. going based on the information you gave. me. >> Okay. Well, let me let me kind of paint. the picture for you here. So, uh we've. got a couple of uh what were intended to. be flips that are kind of not going the. the way that we planned. Um, our. personal finances come in in the. ballpark of like five a month, $5,000 of. outgo. And then we've got another. basically five for one of the three.
houses that we've got to spend to just. keep the mortgage paid. And then I've. got, you know, I've got a a guy that. I've got to pay to help me with the. contracting business. And we've got, you. know, MLS dues. And, you know, >> is this answer? >> What's the question? What are you. telling me? I. >> You're like You're like, "Why can't I. pay my bills?" It's because the the the. outgo is an immense is a large amount of. money. So, here recently, we've been. making enough to scratch by, but there.
was a pretty good period there where we. were not we were like two months behind. on the mortgage, two months behind on. the electric cuz we were just focused on. getting these houses finished and. getting these projects done. And that. wasn't necessarily income generating. activity. So, I've kind of put the. income generating activity on the. forefront now. And now that I'm put the. pedal to the to the metal, we're. actually making. >> you you I don't understand why you are. the one answering the question of she's.
the one managing the finances. Why is. she four-wall focused with this much. money coming in? >> That's what um Okay. So, he gives me the. money for. >> And you said none aside for taxes even. though you manage the finances. Sure, he. might file, but isn't managing setting. aside money for taxes? >> Um, I mean, I we didn't ever discuss that. exactly. So, when it comes to that, I actually I. guess I just assumed that that would be.
part of the business side. >> I'm I'm just Okay, let let me just cut. you off. What is I want to understand. more so the dynamic. >> The dynamic is confusing. Well, unconfuse it to me. I need to. understand how this household operates, how you guys actually communicate more. >> He tells me what goes on in the. business. >> Okay. So, you're understanding what's. going on in the business, >> right? >> Yes. >> Okay. I don't need I don't even know why. you would need to know that. specifically. I'm just talking about. your your household finances. But go on,
continue. >> Again, he just gives me the money. We. put the money. >> and I'm asking how you communicate. Please answer the question. How do we. communicate? We have We don't. >> Yeah. I mean, we kind of haven't been. doing a whole lot of finance talks here. recently because it's just been. >> recently. >> I mean, >> since when then? >> Well, I got into real estate probably. >> Yeah. Since I got into real estate, things have just been so. >> which was six months. >> Well, I've been I was doing in like I. was working for. >> So, things have gotten harder. Why does.
that mean we communicate less? >> Good question. >> Well, the. >> Okay, let's try to have an answer. You're on a podcast. >> Well, fair enough. I mean, the re the. reason why is because basically I'm. like, she wants to know where are we. going? What's the plan? How are we. getting out of this? I'm saying, "Honey, I don't I don't know right now. Right. now, we're focused on getting these. projects done cuz they are. >> That's you in the business, dude. I. don't give a about that. I'm asking. your personal finances." Why do you You. keep answering a question that wasn't. asked. >> He does.
>> How How does things getting more. complicated mean you guys do not talk. about the money in the house? Oh, man. projects going on. your projects. I. DON'T GIVE A WHY AREN'T you guys talking. about the money IN THE HOUSE? THAT'S A. PROJECT. >> It sure is. It sure is. >> So, let's try to answer that question. >> Well, I think the the short answer to. that question is I've basically been. putting business related uh. >> Cool. Good for you. But why isn't she. then?
>> When I bring it up, it's nagging. >> There we go. something an actual answer. >> You guys are like, it's. >> I could use a different word, but I'm. not going to. >> Well, what's the other word? >> Bitching. Okay. Yeah. Real controversial. word. No one uses that. >> Okay. >> Well, h. >> No, no. I get it. It's just like, why. you can't say it? [laughter]. >> It's a trigger word. She hates She hates. when I say that, which to be fair, I. don't hate that.
>> I get it. You shouldn't say it. I'm just. surprised that she could she couldn't. say it. >> I I'll trigger myself. Okay. So, what. happens? He call He says, "You're. bitching." Well, what is that? What's. going on? >> Um, if I bring something up, it's too. difficult for him to talk about. Um, because I'm too difficult to talk to. about it. >> Bald. >> So, >> damn. >> What's the issue? >> Why is he being such a pathetic little. >> You can't handle a dynamic in a. marriage. Can't handle being a husband. >> Shit's hard, bro.
>> No. >> Are you married? I am with a long-term. lady. Go for it. >> We don't have babies, but I run a. business that is much more stressful and. complicated than yours. >> Fair enough. Yeah, but you also have a. lot more help. But to be fair, the. business as well, but trust me, managing. people is much more stressful than doing. it myself. >> Cutting tile and running jackhammer. >> Yeah, that's physical labor. Have you. ever managed people? They're drama. Oh. my goodness. It's 10 times. >> Yeah, I've done a little bit of that. But yeah, it is.
>> I hate everyone. [laughter]. I love him. But I hate it. >> Yeah. >> But I love it. But I hate it. >> That's life. >> So. my poor widow wife is So you can't talk. to your wife. Doesn't that make it. harder? >> Um it you know, in some ways it does. In. some ways it doesn't. >> It does. Where where's the doesn't? >> It doesn't have to deal with it. >> Well, >> is that true? Doesn't it just build? >> It does. >> Yeah, >> it does. >> Kind of has seemed to be that way. I.
mean, here's look, here's my here's my. thoughts. I was like, "Honey, you tell. me what I need to make and I'm going to. go do that, but I also know that I've. got to make X amount for my other. business related stuff and so I need to. work as much as that requires, which, you know, I don't have a I'm blue. collar, you know, I don't have a degree. or whatever.". >> Look, so if I'm going to if I'm going to. make all this money and pay all these. bills, I'm going to have to work an. exorbitant amount of time to do that. >> No one's saying you don't. You're. answering a different question. You can.
still talk to her. You see how this guy. just like [laughter]. >> tell me about it. >> Well, I do get that. I do. I do get that. comment fairly regularly. All I'm saying. is that whenever I'm busting my ass all. day and I come home, I'm like, "Hey, can. we deal with this?" Yeah, that's. >> But you got to deal with it at some. point. >> That's fair. >> You have kids. It's not a joke anymore. We're not just having fun. It's not just about you. Yes, you have. to take care of the business, but you. chose to do that. You could also be.
doing a 9to-5. So, am I having sympathy. for someone who chose to be. entrepreneur? No. You made that choice. >> Well, that's that's fair. It just feels. like we we look, we you best laid plans, mice and men, and whatever. We had a. good idea going into it and then it's. turned into an absolutely. >> You chose to do this. You could go get a. job, dude. You can work for another. contractor. Be the employee. That's. annoying. One of these days that would. be nice, but if I tried to just change. do that now. Listen, you're nagging. What is it like though? Because maybe it is bad. Maybe it is bad.
cuz dude's tired. He's coming home. >> Fair enough. >> I don't have a sympathy for his job. But. if you're like a then yeah, I. mean that's going to be annoying. >> Yeah, that is annoying. Um, no. So, I. don't do that. >> Does she do that? >> She kind of does that. >> Oh, [laughter]. all right. Okay. I don't do that. >> I do try to bring things up in a manner. that will not trigger him. But no matter. what. >> trigger him. >> Yeah. Okay. Yeah. >> What does trigger him? >> What does trigger? What is he beat the.
wife and kids? >> No, just the wall. Um. >> really are you wall punching? >> Not often, >> buddy. That's why I did as a teenager. But who the is punching walls at. 31? >> That's fair. I agree. >> Yes, that's fair. I'm glad you say. everything that is fair, but yet you are. the one who does it. How often is he. punching the wall? I'll define. >> once every 6 months, I'd say. >> That's crazy. Well, >> that's crazy. What led him to do it last. time? What was the conversation? >> It's a good question.
>> Hold on. I'm glad it's a good question. >> I bet it was about. [laughter]. >> I bet it was about It wasn't about. finances. I can tell you that. Probably. because I'm working too much and our. relationship is stressed because I'm. working too much. >> You said you had no issue. You said you. had no issue. What you Why are you. fighting about working so much? >> Um, >> okay. Then I am going to be on bro's. side. If he's like working a lot and. then his wife is like, "Why are you. working so much?" But he has to work. that much to pay the bills.
>> Cuz taking care of the kids is hard and. I'm not helping her enough. >> That's all you do. Stop being a crybaby. >> I have um I have asked for help. Uh, I. have asked to feel like. >> Rose is trying to pay the bills. >> I understand. But, uh, if I do bring up, hey, um, I would like some support as as. a teammate. I would like to feel like. we're on the same team. That's usually. how I bring up conversations. >> He explain his position by making sure. the roof is over your head. >> I understand. >> Not if he punches the wall that many. times. >> Well, okay. I've said that I don't.
really feel like Yeah. that we. communicate that well about everything. >> Why Why else does he feel like a. partner? Um, I've I've asked him to be able to. just talk to me about what the plan is. here and there. Um, just to just to feel. safe that we're going in the right. direction. >> In what way? >> I mean, I mainly bring up like. relationally. Um, >> what's going on? It's like pulling teeth. with you. I swear, dude. >> Oh, man. >> I'll answer a question for you cuz you. guys can answer questions. He punched a.

Because of some relational issue. that I can't define. >> No. Um I. it a lot of the time again when I just I. just try to bring up that I don't feel. like I'm included in Yeah. I no I know. in our relationship I don't. >> in a way.
>> um I feel like I'm replacing my. question. I am literally like I do not. know what the question is. >> Okay. So you can't answer questions cuz. you go around them. You answer a. different question. You can't answer. questions cuz you just can't talk. I. have tried to address problems. >> Well, I've tried to address it now. >> Okay. Yes. >> Give me something. >> I have tried to address problems in our. relationship. >> Wonderful. Give me something. >> Okay. I don't like when he brings up. that I feel that he feels that I'm a. terrible teammate. >> Oh my gosh. Again, can we define what.
the that is? I have the most. generic thing being thrown out, please. Why is someone not a good teammate? What. are they doing besides throwing coffee? >> Bro, these are the my exact questions. Good. Congratulations. Shut the up. and answer it then. >> I'm like, what the is. >> good? Answer the question. >> I don't know. You want to know what it. means to be a good teammate? >> No, she said you say she's not a good. teammate. >> Oh, well, for me, I'm like, honey, I'm. out here trying to play quarterback and. you're trying to play receiver and. you're saying I don't feel included in. your business. I don't feel included in.
your life. I say, >> okay, so your issue is not being. included in the business. >> Not necessarily the business. In my. life, in in our life. Oh my god. How are is he not a good teammate is. what you you said he is not a good. teammate. How so? >> He has told me that I'm not a good. teammate. >> What is your issue you have with him? Not just something he has an issue with. you. What is the issues that you What. made you throw out the coffee? >> Probably something about how I don't. include her enough in my life or. something. And I'm like. >> you don't incl Okay. So, is that true?
He doesn't include you enough in his. life. >> I don't feel very included in his life. >> Okay. >> Yes. because he's working out with him. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, the solution is. >> So, the solution was that he brought up. to me when we went into this entire. venture that we would be doing this. together. >> Doing the business together. >> Yeah. So, >> how would you be participating? >> Um, I mean, I've done I've done. QuickBooks before. I've been in. >> Bro, you can't do the QuickBooks at your.
own house. >> I don't get the Okay. Yeah. I don't. really get the money for that. But. >> what? You just said he gives you the. money. Yes. Now, now he does. >> Okay. >> Now he gives me the money. >> Okay. So, you've been included then. Now, >> this is my exact. >> but not to but not to what the extent. you want. You want more. >> So, the initial just I feel like we're. missing a a critical piece of the puzzle. here. >> Give me that piece. >> You Yeah. You you you're kind of reading. this as like all I do is contracting. We.
have three flips and two of them have. absolutely gone terribly. >> Yeah. But you chose to do that. So, >> right. So, so the the goal was. initially, okay, honey, here's going to. be the great story. We're going to we're. going to buy these houses. We're going. to make this money. We're going to. you're going to help me work on the. houses and whatever. >> I did. >> Yes. So, I'm like, okay, we're going to. go into this. >> What the I mean, your biggest complaint. to the producers is how you don't feel. heard. How can you not feel heard if. honestly one of the biggest business. decisions? You were very much heard,
bro. Thank you. >> You're welcome for now. >> Yes. >> Okay. In the business. Great. In the. relationship. >> Didn't she just say she her biggest. complaint is not being included in the. business? >> No. No. >> Yes. What? >> I don't feel very included in his life. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Because he's working all the time. >> Yes. So the solution is. >> So the solution was that he brought up. to me when we went into this entire. venture that we would be doing this.
together. >> Okay. Well, okay then. >> Yes. Stay on story. You your story. changes. So Okay. Go on. Go on. Sure. Where's the issue? >> Okay. I would like for us to be able to. do both together, the relationship and. the business together as a family. >> That's a horrible idea. >> Is it? Yes. >> Oh, okay. >> I mean, the business, it's a horrendous. idea. >> Okay. >> Keep your relationship separate from the. business. Why would you want to.
integrate that? >> I've had that exact question before. I'm. like, honey, what do you want to know. about it? I'm happy to tell you whatever. you want to know about the business, but. it's not like you're involved in the. doing. Like, >> yeah, but she wants to be. We have a. clear disagreement. And I want you to be. however you can, but it's not like you. these people, >> but you don't have Look, no, I want you. to be involved as much as you can. But. look, you hardly have time to take care. of the kids or or take care of the. house, much less be involved in. >> I don't Yeah, that's between her and. God. But uh you know, I I want you to be.
involved as much as you can be, but it. seems like you're having a hard enough. time with just the day-to-day life. operations that I don't feel like. there's any room for you to be stretched. any further to help me on my side. That's why I've got to do it all myself. It just the crazy thing is this gets. pushed to such an extreme where she's. throwing a coffee, you punch a wall, and. she says the next time she's going to. drive into the ditch. Like that was her. words. But what caused that?
>> I feel like I'm barely scratching the. surface of something you are not. allowing either not allowing to be said. or just can't I like I don't know guys. what the is happening. I mean, um, >> she has the face of a literal murderer. right now. What is it? What is it? >> What are you not saying? Why would you drive into the ditch next. time? >> Oh, well, I mean, we'll sit there and. we're going to be on a road trip and. arguing about something or other and.
then she. >> about something or other. What's the. something or other? Probably. >> is it just her interaction in the. business? Is that really the only issue? It. >> It's She feels She feels disconnected. and that makes her feel insecure. >> Why are you disconnected? And why are. you insecure? >> Why do you feel disconnected? >> This is my exact question. I'm like, honey, I'm trying to do everything I can. to. >> See, you're doing no offense. Uh, and. not to just, you know, take the man. inside, but like you're kind of doing. the classic annoying woman thing or you.
like have a problem. Yeah. Touch it like. that's really going to help. Or you have. a problem and then you can't express it. >> Wow. So it's impossible to solve cuz. it's just feelings, >> right? So when it comes to a woman's. intuition, we do very [laughter]. >> Can we just talk like real world and not. just like a feeling though? >> But go ahead. Go ahead. Women's. tradition. Let me hear.
>> They can pick up when they've been lied. to. And uh and yeah, he has lied to me a. lot. Uh he lies by omission. He lies by. um he forgot this, he forgot that. A lot of details get left out. So, a lot. of trust has been broken in our. relationship, especially over the past. 10 years. >> Can I get some examples? Tell me. >> I mean, I guess. >> I want to be on your side. I'm a girl's. girl, but you're so far horrible at.
defining anything and answering. questions. But here's a good chance to. give me these examples. >> Okay. So once he got into real estate, he he kind of I guess got it into his. head that he doesn't really have to. consider his wife at home. He gets to go. and like go to the bar and drink and not. tell me and and business Okay. With a stay-at-home mom at home, there. was one day I was pregnant. I had a very.
hard day with my one-year-old. He choked. on a blueberry and I also had to get an. oil change. >> I think he deserves to die at that. point. If you're if you're if you if. you're almost losing life on a. blueberry, I think that's his natural. selection. >> Yeah. I mean, he. >> I'm glad he didn't to be clear. But if. someone's losing it on like the softest. berry you can get, I think that's like. nature saying, "Okay, you're not meant. to be here.". >> He was one. >> Yeah. >> I mean, he handled that blueberry like a. champ. That's all I'm saying. Eject. >> Clearly not. If he weren't even choking. on him, he's he's alive.
>> I want to be very clear. I'm glad he's. alive. I'm just saying a blueberry out. of all things. >> All right. >> Okay. Yeah. Have kids. You just You make. sure you squish it. Don't. It was a. squished up blueberry. >> You deserve that. >> See you on the other side. >> Babies choke on water, bro. These things. are just trying to die. I choke on. water, but I'm. >> Well, I feel that. >> Go on. >> So, >> I mean, I I actually I will pause. Yeah. What the are like I was on your side. If. you're working to pay for the roof over. the head, sure. But if you're dude, if.
you're just going to the bar when she's. struggling, she's pregnant, she's trying. to take care of the kids, like what the. is wrong with you, you know? >> Another. >> Yeah. And he came home drunk and um he. he wanted me to be he just wanted me to. be like the gracious wife that just. accepts him home. Uh I'm sorry you drank. so much or something. Let him sleep it. off and then we would talk about it in. the morning. Um I'm not that type of. person. I get really angry really fast. >> Yeah. I mean, it's probably not the most. productive time to have a conversation.
is when the dude's, you know, bastard, but. >> yeah, that was that was a bad idea, too. >> How many holes were punched into the. wall that evening? >> None. >> Oh, he missed. Okay. >> Yeah, we [snorts] that was diffused, thankfully. And then there was another. time that I was sick, also pregnant with. my one-year-old at home. He was like, "Um, you're going to have to. figure it out." Well, >> why? What was being done that day? What was what. >> what was he doing that day where he was.
like, "You have to figure it out." Was. it a job that he had to do or was he. going to the bar with the boys? >> Well, he didn't go to the bar with the. boys. >> Okay. Okay. Well, >> he did go to work. >> Well, okay. Well, I mean, that makes. sense then. >> Again, it's not I don't it Oh, well, we. could talk about the night. You have to. go deeper than that. It's not that. >> Go deeper. That's the point of a. conversation. I've been waiting. >> Okay, great. Well, listen, it's the. pattern underneath to where he's like, "No, I took you into full consideration. I knew he'd be mad and I did it anyway. That is his logic. Logic when it comes.
to our relationship. >> Well, I mean, you still up in that. moment. >> Yeah, definitely move. But also, uh, one time ever, you know, I never do. anything. All I do is work. I literally. do nothing. >> I mean, you kind of hurt with words. I. mean, you told her just like a week ago. or something that you feel trapped by. having another kid. >> Like, what the is that? That's crazy to. tell your pregnant wife. What are we. doing? Well, kids are home like, "Yeah, I think that would stick in the back of. my mind probably for half as long as a. woman, but even still, it would it would.
stick there for a second at least.". >> Yeah. I mean, it's been a little. >> That's crazy. How'd that make you feel? >> Um, pretty terrified. Pretty terrified. that the baby would just be born. And. >> I don't know. And. >> why do you Why What the was happening? Why was that said? Why was that brought. up? >> Why was that brought up? I probably just. told him. Um, I usually just bring up my. feelings. I will just bring up my. feelings, but that's bitching. >> So, >> yeah, it is really annoying when they.
bring up their feelings. >> All right. Well, you know, >> I just I have to be honest. It is like, why are we bringing up feelings when. it's just like I wish like cuz I want to. solve issues, but if it's just something. that's purely emotional based and. there's not anything like real world. logical about it, it is actually quite. difficult. I'll be honest. But. >> when it comes to a relationship, that's. how you. >> It is something you have to deal with. I. I know. >> All right. I literally have no idea what. that means in real life. I have a very. like problem. Solve it. Tell me what I. need to do. I'll go do that. How can I.
help? >> The problem would be you feel trapped by. her having another baby. Like that is. like what the that's crazy. That's the. problem. >> Yeah. Well, again, you got to take the. context into consideration cuz our. relationship has been a little. touchandgo for the past probably six. months to a year. >> Why? In what way? >> Well, I mean, >> what does that mean? We're pregnant. We. have two kids. What does that mean? >> Yeah. Well, the the pregnancy was kind. of uh I mean, it's not like we were. doing everything we could to avoid that. obviously. I mean, I know how it.
happens, but uh you know, it wasn't. really part of the plan. And you know, we were kind of you know, it seems like. every other day, you know, she's like, "Well, get the out." Or I'm you know, or. you know, or I'm like, "Well, then. leave." You know, and uh. >> what the why blow up, guys? >> Yeah. Look, I'm not proud of it, but. it's just one of those things right now. Things are extremely hard and all I get. is I'm I'm busting my ass working all. day long and that. >> this is clearly not the lifestyle that. is okay.
>> No, this is for her though. >> Neither of us. >> She's not going to vibe with it. Then. what are we doing? Go get a job, dude. >> Okay, look. How am I supposed to quit. everything I'm doing right now? I would. be happy. >> You apply for a job, get accepted, and. quit. >> Okay, so I have a a family loan on a. house. I have a. >> family loan on the house. >> Yeah. So, I've got. >> Well, you preferably get the other job. to get money. >> Okay. >> Without having to spend money on your. current job, which is kind of your. issue. And I highly doubt you balance. those books very well. >> Yeah. Well, it's all.
>> if at all. >> Yeah. Probably. >> Exactly. So, can you bring 10 to 15 home. a month? Doubt. But the the reality is, I mean, he doesn't give that emotional. support, does he? >> No. >> But I mean, she was looking over your. shoulder the other day. She saw you. giving emotional support to another. woman. >> and that with her. >> Yeah, >> that with her knows that it was a. business deal. But you were telling her, "I hope you feel better. I hope you feel. better." And she saw those messages. She. like she's been stabbed in the chest.
according to her word. And the moment. she confronted you, you just told her. she was being a controlling. >> So like, what the. >> Yeah, that's uh Look, that is pretty up. But, uh, to be fair, again, I'm fair. Let's see. Look, it's it's way easier. for me to have like emotional distance. and like be polite to strangers than it. is to. >> Okay, well, that's weird. >> Comfort your pregnant wife. >> Okay, that's I was I was kind of with. you for a second, but that's weird. >> No, I look I know it's weird. Look, I. don't I don't know. >> No, you might just be a bad partner.
>> Well, I definitely haven't been the best. partner, and I'm working on being. better. But. >> are you not? Is he? >> What's his is working? This just. happened. You literally told her like a. week ago that you feel trapped by her. being pregnant. What the That's working. on being a better partner. Punching a. hole in the wall two months ago is. better than being a part. What the you. talking about? >> It's a roller coaster sometimes. It's a. roller coaster. >> So he's better for like two weeks. Gotcha. Okay, great. What What went. through your head when you saw that? >> Um. he's lucky I didn't break that phone, too. Um but.
>> Oh, so you guys are like violent kind. of. Oh, yeah. That's insane little bit. >> I don't love it. I down. >> Oh, I would think so. What has happened. there? >> Um. >> Oh, that was a long time ago. >> Okay. Yeah, you broke a phone, but he. punches walls. >> and she punches walls and. >> Well, you punch walls, too. This is. going to be This is great for your kids. growing up. >> It was before kids. I have not punched I. have not punched walls since kids. >> You beat the out of the mosqu that mosqu. tree that one time though. >> Yeah, that's. >> blasting a tree. That's crazy.
>> Yeah, it was it was kind of. >> hormonal rage. That was hormonal rage. Absolutely. Mother rage is kind of the. overarching theme of this story, I. think. But uh maybe that's just my. perspective. >> When she was pregnant for the second. time and she was telling us you like. treating like complete your her. second pregnancy and now I know she's. worried now for this third pregnancy. that you're going to treat her like. again. How was he treating you like. >> Cuz that's what you said, but I need to. know how. >> Now or back then? >> No, the second pregnancy. >> The second pregnancy. Yeah, it was it.
was a lot of lack of emotional support. >> What does that mean? So that means. >> to you. No, no. I'm giving you the. chance to tell it. Define it. >> Mom. not coming at me whenever I have a bad. day too. Like I like. >> Why aren't you supporting her? Why are. you supporting random women on the. phone? Not her. >> Cuz his day was harder. >> To his day was harder. He says that. He. says, "I can't support you cuz my day. was harder.". >> He has told me there's no way you're as. tired as I am. Even though I breastfeed.
two children. I take care of a house. which I get it. I know. But I'm on my. feet all day. I do exercise. Uh. >> no, I mean, yes. No, your job's your. job's not easy. I'm just, you know, comparing it. But even still, it doesn't. matter. I mean, uh compared to uh my. girl, of course, I do like a million. times harder, but I emotionally support. her when needed. >> I don't tell her, "Sorry, my day was. harder, bitch.". >> Look, how can we? Especially when she's. pregnant. How can we do that? Okay, because I'll spend I'll spend an hour.
being as sweet as I possibly can. generate being as nice as I possibly can. and then it's like. >> deflection not good enough. >> Say. >> what? >> Because as soon as I say something, it is immediately and just then about. you. >> I think it's immediately about solving. the problem. Help me understand. And. then she's like, I just want to be. heard. What does that mean? Listen.
>> I don't know. >> Just listen. >> I do listen. And I'm like, "Okay, so why. are you telling me this? You want me to. do something about it? Cuz I'm happy to. do whatever that is." And then after. about an hour of going through this. marathon of trying to be sweet and. whatever. >> because it. does become hard. That's exhausting. >> Sometimes it becomes multi-our things. because Yes. Because immediately as soon. as I say something, it just gets shut. down. >> Shut down. I.e. E what can I do to fix. that and I will do that right now and.
it's like I don't want you to fix that. >> Yes. He will say what can I do to fix. and I'm like. >> actually you won't ask what can I do to. fix it. It will just be try to fix it. immediately. >> Well it is difficult to be like here's a. big problem and just like let's let it. just be a problem. >> If you can't fix it then we're just. letting it be a problem. >> No. If if it's just me saying, "Oh, I'm. tired today." Like, I can't bring that. up anymore. >> Oh, okay. >> I can't bring that up anymore because. it's just it's.
>> really. >> Yeah. >> Oh, that's crazy. She can't bring up. that she's tired. >> She is being mother all day. That is. tiring. >> Look, I'm not even sure that's true. I'm. sure that's how it feels and blah blah. blah, but I you're I'm happy to to. provide all the emotional support I can, but if it's if it's just like pouring. water into a bucket with no bottom, it's. just like why what am I doing here? I. got to do something productive now, you. know. >> Well, it's not predictive productive. always calling her a miserable person. You call her miserable constantly. >> There are holes in the bucket cuz you.
shot the bucket. >> Yeah. If you're just sitting there like. it's a trap that you're trying to you're. a miserable person. >> You broke the bucket. >> Yeah, dude. You're just blasting holes. in it. I mean, I think you kind of. caused that. >> Maybe. So, that's entirely possible. I. mean, how how in what way does it make. sense to just sit there and be like, "You're a miserable person.". >> Um, >> what does that solve? If you're a. problem solver, what problem does that. solve? >> I mean, we're kind of eliminating the. eight years of doing everything I can to.
make her happy. >> Did he try for 8 years perfectly, doing. great to make you happy? Not perfectly, but he did. He was just trying, trying, trying. There was no issues. You know, this has been the accumulation of 10. years of the same thing and we are just. now trying to. >> the Yeah. You're a miserable person or. like you're crazy, you're overreacting. >> He sits there just calls you crazy. >> If I bring up feelings Yeah. He'll be. like you're overreacting about that. Whenever I ask for like the emotional.
support that he gave the other woman. >> most recent thing. >> the most recent thing don't believe. there was a most recent thing about him. saying that I was crazy he has been. trying he has been working pretty hard. to listen in the past. >> my therapist told me. >> oh two weeks well that does nothing I. didn't say something for like 3 months. >> and after like 3 months anyone can. change anything for a temporary that. means nothing to me. >> so before that then. >> you yeah you told I was overreacting.
whenever um I don't know. I don't like. it whenever you give your number to to. random. >> Oh, women. Okay. Why are you. [clears throat] giving your. >> No, cuz it's for [laughter] rapport. It's for building rapport. He tells me. >> that is that is. >> who's building rapport with random. women? >> Oh, for real estate. >> All right, let's let's circle back. around. Okay. Whenever I'm going to a. real estate meetup and there's people. who have, you know, listings that need. to have houses worked on, they need to.
have work done on these listings to get. them market ready. You hand out. >> freaks out about this every time. >> Well, what. >> I don't know about it. >> Now, here's the thing is you go and you. say, >> "Well, I mean, I think it's fair to hand. out business cards and stuff.". >> No. Yeah. No. Yeah. I don't issue. >> If a female. has business. >> Yeah. >> that I need to do. >> Yeah. You text them at 4 a.m. >> Why are you texting them at 4:00 a.m.? >> Okay, so there's this is. >> Okay, dude. That's weird. >> I look I get what you're saying here,
>> but look, >> what else is there to say? 4 a.m.'s. weird, >> right? I agree. Okay, so look what I. >> Why do you do it? I'm glad you agree. Thank you. Makes me feel good. Why do. you do it? Because I sell investment. real estate. >> at 4 a.m. >> If the if Okay. The person that I was. >> only the women. Does he text the men at. 4 a.m.? >> I don't know. I don't care. I don't. >> It depends on the person's time zone on. where they're at. >> Sounded like you cared. If we don't. care, we can move on. >> She definitely cares. >> So, what the are we talking about?

was like 300 p.m. for them. If I wait. until my normal business hours. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Well, isn't that fair then? >> Um, >> if I wait until my normal business. hours, they're it's the evening for. them. >> No. Cater to the client side. >> Okay. >> What? >> That was what he was giving emotional. support to. >> Oh, that's weird. >> See, buddy, you win me, you lose me. You. win me, you lose me. >> I win me and I lose me, too. I'm like, look, I'm just trying to. >> You're trying to get a little IDF.
princess. >> Damn. No, I'm trying to sell houses and. so you have to talk to people. >> to an Israeli. >> Oh, I've sold several to Israeli people. There's a lot of Israeli investors in. San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Austin. They they're buying the out of. houses over here. Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. I also text the other Israeli. people at 4 in the morning or at 9:00 at. night, >> saying that you hope that they feel. better. >> Okay. Well, come on. I've texted that to.
many of people, >> right? And and was she sick? >> Yeah, she was sick and there was That's. not that Okay, you you're being a crazy. >> Okay. >> I'm sorry. >> I was sick and pregnant at the same time. and he told me to get over it. He told. me to get over it. >> Okay. Well, that's a dick move. That. doesn't mean he can't also say that to. someone else. That. >> He totally can. But tell you, why would you tell your. parent and wife to just get over it? >> Um, I feel like that's a gross. oversimplification. I'm like, honey, I've got to go to work, so I can't help. you. You're going to have to do it.
You're going to have to figure it out. You're going to have to get over it. I. can't stop. I can't not go to work just. because you're feeling bad. >> But there are words. It's just right. words. It's like say you're sorry and. you feel bad and like yeah don't say. like get over it. >> Let's [laughter]. start from the the hour preceding where. I'm like I'm sorry honey hope you feel. better. What can I do to help? How can I. support you? >> So is that is every conversation a. multi-our conversation? >> Bro. it is literally like. >> Okay. Now how frequently?
>> U okay so since I stopped doing them I. just said I'm not going to do that. >> Okay before that how frequently? Three. or four times a week we'll spend four. years. >> How have you guys stayed together for. that many years? I couldn't do that. >> Yeah, it's very difficult. But we, you. know, we promised forever and we've got. two kids and so there's not really an. option. >> Yeah. Before the kids then like that's. insane. I'm sorry. Three to four times a. week. You do at some point the. conversation is you do need to learn how. to deal with your emotions in a healthy.
way. >> Oh no, I can do that. >> Are you sure? If we're having multi-hour. conversations four to five times a week, that is that does become a on you type. of situation at some point, you need to. take some kind of accountability and. learn how to deal with your And. that's not always someone else's. problem, >> right? So, whenever I do bring up. relationship issues, like things that he. has told me in the past to my face, yes, they are wounds. Um, no, he never says. sorry. He says, I'm sorry you feel that.
way. He doesn't say I'm sorry for the. words you've said or that he said. >> You said some horrible words. Why. haven't you apologized? >> To be I think we're getting. >> I think I've apologized for all of them. at least a thousand times each. >> Oh, we're so disconnected. God, >> bro. Yes. >> If we spend if you spend hundreds of. hours having these marathon argument. conversations about our relationship. There's no way I haven't touched on. every single pain point over the course. of 10 years at least 10 times. >> How do these conversations revolve? Your. apologies are just I'm sorry you feel.
that way. >> How do the Is that true? >> Yes. >> Probably a smile on your wall, That's not going to work. >> How do these conversations resolve? >> They don't holes in the wall. >> Here, here's how the conversation. typically. >> I'm like, "Honey, I have to go to work. It's 9:00 in the morning." And then she. [clears throat] wants to talk until it's. about 1:00 and I'm like, "Honey, I'm. leaving. I'm leaving now.". >> Insane. >> And so I just leave the house. There's. not there's I'm like where is the end of.
this conversation? It's like a roller. coaster of we're we're getting close to. a solution and then it's emotional. tunnel again. >> So she cries a lot. >> She does. And so I'm like. >> I stopped crying in front of you. >> It's difficult. >> And so then I'm like crying in front of. nothing's going to help. I'm just going. to go to work now cuz at least there I. can pay the bills cuz whenever I spend. all this time talking I'm not doing. >> You guys enjoy time around each other? >> I think so. >> Yeah. Wait, look, >> 40 times a week [laughter] and it's. multi-our conversations,
>> bro. Toxic relationships are kind of. fire. I got to be honest with you. >> Oh my god. >> But where's the good time? If you're. working all the time and four times a. week, we're having multi-hour. conversations. Where's the time for the. Where's the good part? Where does it. exist? >> Um, mathematically, >> mathematically, that's a good question. But I will say that the quality, you know, outweighs the quantity. But I. feel like. >> where where's the quality? >> Um I'll be where does it happen? >> She'll call me and tell me about her.
feelings and then we'll talk about it. for a minute and I'm getting better at. making her feel better now. And so then. we have a good 30 minute conversation. >> Okay. Why are you calling him during. work? Let the man work, dude. Like what. what's wrong with you? Come on. >> Um because he won't be home for me to. talk to him, I guess. >> Uh yeah, we do got to solve that issue. You got to just get a job, dude. Clearly. this is not working. This is not. working. I mean, you've strictly and I. don't think you're ever going to be. involved in the business. He he said to. our producer. >> if you're if you're an employee, he.
would fire you. >> Yes, he has said that before as but as a. wife. >> So, you can kind. >> Have we ever talked about divorce? >> Oh, yeah. >> Couple of times this week. >> I've seen a lawyer. >> Really? >> Mhm. >> When? >> Um, couple weeks ago. I have not filed. I do not want to file. not going to file. >> Seeing a lawyer is a big step. >> Yeah, it shows it paints you a picture. of what the reality is. >> How does that make Did you know?
>> No. >> No. >> I lied to him. >> This is your first time hearing about. this? >> No. >> Um, I heard about it the other day in an. argument, but uh. >> and your thoughts. >> I'm like, do whatever you want. I can't. make you feel bad. >> Oh my. You guys are not compatible. How. the did you guys produce a child? >> Three. [laughter]. >> She goes and sees the lawyer for divorce.
and you say do whatever you want. What. the. >> Here's here's my here's my perspective. I'm working my ass off to try and help. her feel better and help and I'm like. honey, how can I make you feel more. connected? How can I love you more? How. can I love you better? I do the 10 20. things that you. >> Was that before or after figuring out. you were pregnant? >> The lawyer. Uh that was before. >> Jeez. What made you go see this lawyer? >> Uh I kind of had to face the reality of. Yeah. What are we looking at with our.
marriage? >> What was the breaking point though? What. was what what triggered. >> I don't know. I had had enough with the. things that he'd said to me. Uh. yeah, a lot of the things that he said. has kind of just like e even if I am. whatever a miserable person to be. around, I feel like if if he feels that. way, he should leave. I don't feel like. like why would you just destroy the. person that you say that you love and. then um and then expect them to stick. around?
>> So what happened? >> I just I I. >> What the conversation? What did you guys. talk about? There was no conversation about. >> You met a lawyer. >> Oh, I'm sorry. You're asking about the. lawyer conversation. >> She told me, she painted a picture. She's like, "Well, if you're going to be. a single mom, you gota, you know, obviously get a job and do this and do. that." And uh. >> So, what prevented you from going. forward was literally just the fear of. what it looked like on the other side. >> No. No. I don't want that for my life. >> Yeah. That.
>> Yeah. just the consequences of it but. not. >> the actual staying with him part isn't. what prevented you. >> I guess no that's not true no I will. >> based on everything you just said the. words you just said the single mom the. struggle that's what you don't want. >> no that's what she told me she didn't. say oh well here's a happy picture of. I'm telling you what she told me. >> exactly and you're afraid of that more. than you want. to actually say. >> no I'm telling you that that that's what. she told me for me yes I I had to weigh.
my options. I had to weigh my options. >> And you would prefer staying him over. the consequences of all that? >> Yes, I would prefer staying with him. over the consequences. >> That's crazy. That doesn't mean you. actually want to stay with him. >> No, I do want to stay with him. >> But you met a divorce lawyer two week. It's over here. This is the good side. And this is. >> Okay. I'm sorry. We usually don't want. to stay with people we made a divorce. lawyer for two weeks ago. >> Yeah, that's. >> I know you just found out you're. pregnant. >> That wouldn't No, that wouldn't. >> Oh, come on. >> That wouldn't keep me. I am staying. because of him.
>> That's crazy. Two weeks ago. Sure. Uh-huh. Guys, what do we think our. combined household financial score is? 0. to 10. Zero being the worst, 10 being. the best. Um, okay. I mean, let's. just let's get a bigger picture of. what's actually going on on the number.
side. I don't know if you guys can't. communicate about really the most simple. things. I don't know how the you're. going to communicate about this. And. this is one of the leading causes for. divorce in this country. You've already. met a divorce lawyer. It's like doom and. gloom is what I'm seeing now. But let's. try to get the the full picture together. with the numbers side of things. Barclay's card. What's going on? >> Closed account. That's all I know. >> Is it? >> It was kind of mine. We both had It's a. shared account. I think we had.
>> four. >> Um, well, initially, who knows? I don't. know why we got it. We We just kept it. for a while. >> What did you spend it on? Cuz you're at. $16,886. >> It's gone down some. >> Oh, yeah. I was about to say that. It. went down. >> Yeah. Uh, well, that's down. >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think we had about. >> You didn't even know like 22 on a. payment plan total. death guys. >> Yeah, basically all that got racked up. on uh like staying in hotels. >> You opened this card for your honeymoon. to Bise. >> Well, we opened it whenever we went on.
our honeymoon to Bise and but we were. just like, "Ah, it. They'll give us. the credit line." Our credit score was. fine, whatever. And then uh all this. real estate started blowing up in. our face. And so uh. >> Okay. So, how's it blowing up? Tell me. >> Um so, we bought our first flip in St. Angelo and uh that one I mean that I. could go into detail as much as you want. but like after the contractor screws us. and after the.
>> Why aren't you doing the flip yourself? >> So I didn't get my contracting license. until after this contractor screwed me. on two houses and then I was like I. can't rely on people to do for me. anymore. >> I'm not buying a house for someone else. to flip it. Okay. I mean, it's a pretty. normal scenario where an investor buys. the house and then you hire a contractor. to do the work. >> Yeah, but you don't have like a big. flipping agency. If you're just starting. off, do the flip yourself. >> Well, that's uh. >> Okay, so the contractor you I guess. >> Yeah. And so um.
>> have the link. Let's see. >> Yeah, that one we ended up having to. spend $8,000 to uh to sell it. So. >> you did sell it, though. >> Yeah, we brought we had to we had. >> Did you break even? Did you lose? How. much did you lose? I mean, it's a nice. little single family. All of those cards. plus the $8,000 is about what we lost on. that house. >> So, tens of thousands. >> Tens of thousands. >> How? >> And yet, you said yes. Let's go do a. second one. >> Uh, we started the second one before. that one was a was a.
>> you can prove the concept. >> Yeah. [laughter]. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. You cop your way through that. >> Yeah. Is right, >> brother. Okay. Well, someone's enjoying. it at a discount and yeah, not not a bad. house. Not a bad job, it looks like. Okay, so what what happened with the. second one then? >> Uh second one was closing. I guess the. second one would be the Fort Worth. house. That one kind of part of the. wholesaling thing. You run into deals, you know, and typically you're trying to. resell them. Well, I brought it to my.
sister and my sister was like that. We're going to flip that one, too. >> This is the Fort Worth house. >> That's the Fort Worth house. >> Okay. Something not even close to you, but. >> Yeah. but she's local to the Fort Worth. market. She's been doing the same kind. of real estate wholesaling stuff for a. long time and she was pretty successful. at it. So, um, she says, "Hey, I've got. a contractor. I've got a lender. We can. get this done. We'll make all this. money." It's. >> a really nice house. >> Yeah. I mean, we bought it. >> pre- remodel. It was actually kind of. nice, but. >> Well, it had a bunch of rod. It had a.
bad roof. We had to redo it pretty. >> That's okay. But, uh, how much did you. put into it? >> Um, we ended up putting in about 200, I. think, after all was said and done. death. Yeah, it's not a cheap house. Estimated value 818,000. >> We had an appraisal for 900. The initial. plan was we would sell it. >> So, break even, lose, gain. What? >> Um, we're probably getting foreclosed on. that one. >> Oh, it's not done. >> Um, it's the sale's not done. >> It's done. It's on market. >> Getting foreclosed then. So, okay. >> Oh, no. But the sale is not done. >> The sale's not done. It hasn't sold.
>> So, it's on market. We've got a hard. >> for what? On market for what? >> Um, it's on market for I think we are at. 8:35. >> Okay. Well, that's it's already. overvalued estimated online. >> Well, >> okay. Well, what did you buy it for? >> We bought it for 515. >> What did you put into it? >> 200. >> Okay. I'm just trying to get it out if it. break even instead of foreclose. >> Right. So, this house it's on a. essentially a private money loan with. deferred payments. So, the the monthly.
payments acrew to the payoff. Dude, you're getting you're getting like. you're like repeating it's not as crazy. as Ramsay, but you're kind of Ramsaying. yourself. >> Um. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I mean I feel like. >> what you're putting down. >> Yeah. I feel like uh. >> So why do you think it's going to be. foreclosed on? Are people seeing it? >> Um so that one very similar to. >> Well, people coming to view the house. saying the work on the house is shitty. So it looks nice on a picture, but the. work is shitty in person. >> Yeah. whenever you go and look at the. details.
>> You didn't do this yourself? >> No, I didn't myself. I did. >> What's the issues? >> I did ref I refinished the floors and I. painted. >> What's the issues? >> Um, >> people are complaining about. >> tile work is bad. The the drywall work. is bad. The windows, the kitchen layout is too small and. doesn't work. Yeah. Yeah. People didn't. like the location of the island, so on. and so forth. Wow. That's unfortunate. >> Yeah. So, you know, basically. >> So, no one's buying it. No offers. >> No. No offers under. >> No. Every showing we've had has been.
like the most dismal feedback. >> Okay. So, foreclosure is coming. >> Yeah, for sure. >> What's your monthly payment on this. thing? >> Um, it's deferred payments, but it comes. out to in the neighborhood of $9,000 a. month. >> Five. >> Yeah. >> Okay, you guys. And then, didn't I You. said there's a third house somewhere in. this equation, right? Didn't I hear. three? >> Yeah. So, >> So, what's the third house? >> We bought the first house in March. We. bought the second house in July and we. bought the third house in August.
>> Why don't you guys go from one to the. other? Just just Okay. So, okay. Go on. >> Wow. So, this all happened. >> This is all just happened. >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. So, go on. Tell me about this. third. >> So, the third one. >> Oh my goodness. It's a then. >> Yeah, it's a It was a definitely a. hole. It looks pretty good right now. Uh. >> Okay. >> Uh it's not on market. How much did you. buy it for? >> We bought that one for 200. Uh, it's. valued at like 228ish. Uh, how much have. you put into it? >> Uh, we're gonna end up putting 176 into.
it. >> Oh my goodness. That's a almost double. >> Yeah. >> Which is kind of crazy. >> Yeah. It's worth like 550. >> Do you even know what worth is? You You. can't sell the house for what you think. it's worth today, your second house. >> Well, this is a good learning. experience. All I'm saying is we have. >> How can you tell me it's worth that? >> Because we have to get an appraisal. before we buy the thing. and the. appraiser says, "Yeah, once it looks. good and it doesn't look like a. hole, then it'll it'll be worth 500, 550.". >> We will see. Okay. Um, good death. So,
how much debt do you currently have that. is just in those three or those two. houses that have not been sold? >> Oh, let's see. >> On these deferred interest. things, >> um, probably the payoff on it's going to. be like 870. >> Jeez. uh pay off on it's going to be so we've. got uh. >> first you allowed this. >> Oh, I'm saying the Yeah, >> this is insane. [laughter] Bro was not. born for this life. Bro was born to work.
for someone else that actually knew what. they were doing. >> Damn. >> What the? Your life is about to be. destroyed. Do you guys own your own. house? >> We do. Good luck keeping it. [sighs]. >> Hey, you can't take it in bankruptcy. court. You. >> have to. buddy. I'm just talking about you paying. for it. >> I just. um I just try again to trust in his. abilities. This has been a. >> trust has been broken. No trust. No. trust. Trust in his abilities. He has no.
abilities. He has literally proved that. >> Might be able to put some sand in and. seal it on a floor, but. he's not a businessman. >> Well, I definitely haven't. uh proven. myself so far, but I feel like I uh have. learned a lot. So. >> listen, I mean at some point this is. again only after changing behavior cuz I. don't advise the credit card transfers. or the debt consolidation or personal. loans until behavior has changed. It's a.
great tool. Same with bankruptcy or else. you end up in the same situation. Once. you guys have changed behavior on. Caleb.com, there's great debt relief. programs. You're paying a. ton of interest. Your minimum.
payment is 374. >> Look, in the grand scheme of things. here, like this is insane. [laughter]. >> Best Buy. What's going on? >> Yeah. Uh, that's. >> Oh, fees. That's good. Oh, interest. That's good. Oh, high balance. That's. great. Oh, wonderful. >> I think it's all I think it's. >> Oh, pass due. >> Why? >> Yeah, we have not paid that. >> WHY? >> Like I say, there was a couple of months. there where we were a little touch and. go on paying the mortgage, and I was.
like, we're going to have to hold. >> Like I said, good luck keeping your. house. >> Yeah. >> Been paying the mortgage. >> Yeah. FOR NOW. FOR NOW. >> I got this. >> No, you don't. You've literally proven. anything but. >> I don't know. I think you brought in a. lot last month. So, >> look, I. >> But guess what? That probably needs to. go to paying last year's taxes cuz you.
guys can't manage. >> Bro can't even take finest ride once a. day. Like, I don't trust him to do. anything. >> Don't ask what that is. I think it's bad for your dick. So, uh. it. >> depends. It's less than 1%. If it is bad. for your dick, then don't take it. But. for majority of people, it's fine. >> Fair enough. >> If it's even a risk, >> you get the broccoli or. >> Yeah, but you learn and you stop taking. it and you're fine. >> So, whatever's going on right now is not. working. $485 a month, I think. No, that's No, cuz you're 3 months. What is.
that? Okay, so 619. I think it's like. 207 a month. >> I just haven't looked at that one at. all. fees, interest, late fees. $200 this year so far, thousand in. interest. This is crazy. >> Holy. >> Yeah, you're you're you've broken your. lives all for the sake of him not being. able to run a business. This is crazy. Like, you guys are just insane. Did you even get a Best Buy? But even. was it? >> I think it was a 72-in TV, a new phone,
and uh and some Bluetooth. bills. >> at your laptop. You always forget about. your laptop. >> Oh, yeah. Fair enough. Oh my goodness, bro. You owe money to your mom for the. first and second property flip. >> Yeah. On uh. >> brother San Antonio house. >> Okay. This is disgusting. What is wrong. with you? This poor mother. Why is she. doing this? Why is she doing this? You've destroy Why? >> It's my mom. >> Oh, it's even worse. [laughter]. >> Really? You guys are going to laugh. about that? What the is wrong with you?
>> I love my mom. >> Do you? I don't think anyone who loves. their mom would do this. This is insane. You should be ashamed to yourself. >> Look, I'm I'm with you. >> How often do you see her? >> Uh, well, >> often enough. Every holiday. >> Often enough. It definitely makes. Thanksgiving turkey taste a little. funny. >> If you or your child spent years growing. up on social media and experienced. serious mental health struggles, you. should hear this. about this uh for a while that uh I feel. like I've got Robert Kiyosaki and Dave. Ramsey just having a boxing m b m b m b. m b m b m b m b m b m b m b match. >> rich dad poor dad like one of the worst. books I've ever read in my life. What. are you talking about? Well, every every. successful real estate investor that. I've talked to, they all say that was. their kind of formative book. And. >> okay, you're not a successful real. estate. Rich Dad Poor Dad is like a few. hundred pages of. >> the poor dad said, "I'm going to go. spend everything on a credit card and.
the rich dad said, "No, I'm going to. invest instead." Oh, crazy. >> What I took out Yeah. What I took out of. there was don't ask if you can afford. it, ask how. >> A real story, by the way. I Yeah. >> Okay. So, how'd this conversation go? Hi, Mom. My failure of a bald husband. needs $30,000. >> How did that conversation go? No. >> And how does it go now with you owing. her? >> No, she she likes the property. She saw.
the vision. She uh she offered. >> Oh, she's too. >> A [laughter]. San Antonio tortoise. >> No, she's in Midland. >> The Midland Torres. Okay. She's not head. Got it. >> Oh, damn. >> You have to be to give 30,000 for this. >> Crazy. >> Well, to be fair. >> And what is she thinking now? >> Uh, probably the same thing I am, which. is we're going to trust in the process.
>> Oh my goodness. You guys are broken. >> You should give up on this and. practically give up on life. But don't. do that in real life. >> When you say I Okay, you got to quit. your you got to quit what you're doing. and go get a job. >> Yes. That right there is the number one. reason why I can't do that. >> You need to go get another job because. you're pathetic with your money and you. need to bring in money right now so you. can start paying her back. >> You failure of a man. >> I need to finish the house in San. Antonio and once we sell it then. hopefully I can pay that back. >> Yeah, good luck. Did it work two times? Good luck with the third. >> Yeah, that seems to be the charm.
>> No, it's not. Are you. paying her back now? Minimums? Anything? >> No, we're not making anything. >> Oh, you suck. You're a horrible. son-in-law. You're the worst son-in-law. You're a. horrible father. You're a bad partner. You're a bad man. You're a failure. You're a joke. PCI. What is this? >> Uh, I think that's for the water. softener that we got a couple years ago. >> Pathetic joke. >> Okay. Yes, that. >> And you listen to David Ramsey.
>> I I do like our water. I don't give a. what you like. >> Well, >> I like you keeping a roof over your head. for you and your kids. Well, I would like for that roof to have. a water softener. >> Okay, which one's more important? >> Well, >> hey, you're past due on the water. softener because you're literally. $1922. a month. You're behind 5 months. Pathetic children. >> It has been about that long. >> Homelessness.
is your future for you and three kids. Yeah. Keep laughing about it. literally on your watch actually because. of your watch. I would say your watch. caused that. >> Well, I I can't argue with you there, but uh. >> No, you can't. You're on financial audit. with this paperwork in this debt. >> Yeah. I mean, again, we had a we had a. grand vision and you know, I bought I. bought my own whenever I'm. selling all these investment houses. I'm. like, "Oh, >> still. >> we're going to make this money.". >> You're still following your vision, dude. >> I don't. >> your late fees. At this point, I don't.
know how to change trajectory without. burning a bunch of people in the in the. process. So, I have to just take it to. the finish line and then I get to have. the luxury of. >> forclosed, bankruptcy, fresh start and. then payback family as we can. Slate. edge. What's going on? >> That was I think both of our slate edges. were the balance transfers for the. Barclays card. >> So, we maxed that out twice. >> Yeah, we maxed that one out twice. Oh, you guys suck. Okay. Yeah, it's maxed.
out. $2,44821. Major minimum of 40 bucks. Proud of you. for that. Oh, there's been a late fee. this year. >> Got that one on auto pay. >> I forgot to take it off. >> Oh, no. There's been a late fee this. year. So, >> a dang it. It was probably overdrafted. or something. It didn't go through. >> A shucks. Our life sucks. That's a. bummer. Oh, no. You guys are weird, man. Inc., what's. happening? Chase $40 fee. That's a late fee. >> Oh, that's your business property flip.
business account. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's yours. I don't know about. that one. >> Max that out on. >> Yeah. >> Jeez. So, not it's not even just like. business loans, mortgages, anything like. that. You're putting them on high. interest shitty credit cards. >> Yeah. >> Now, this is probably interest free for. a moment, it looks like. Or maybe it's. under deferral of some kind because uh. your life sucks. But it is $4,72911. with $475. being the payment. and we've missed every month this year.
so far. >> Oh wow. >> Yeah. Oh. Every year. Yeah. Yep. It is. July. >> and the interest starts acrewing. Oh, two weeks ago. >> Oh man, we were close kind of. >> to what? >> I don't know. To possibly paying that. off before the interest started hitting. >> Nope. We're late every month this year. so far. >> You suck, guys. You are the worst. Oh, we have another slate edge. Why not? Let's just start collecting them. >> Yeah, we. >> You literally saw them open up all these. credit cards and you're like, "Yep, that's the way.".
>> At the time it was. >> personal. No, that's actually never the. way. >> That means the business is not working. Hey, late fee. Who would have thought? >> Okay. >> The initial plan was we had a budget set. aside for the rehab and then the. contractor screwed us on. >> How did you get screwed? Um, I gave him. the $60,000 budget and we were $20,000. short and he basically never came back. And so I had to go to St. Angelo and. live in a hotel and we had to sleep on.
