Professional Victim Is Pathetic | Financial Audit
I'm very spiritual, if you can't tell. My mom is too. Money comes back to us. Whatever we spend, it comes back in. tenfold, I think. $30,000 a year minimum. Why is that not. gotten back to you? You have to be. patient. I think it's a generational. curse that I'm just. Curse? So, it's inflicted by the world, not by yourself? See, if you immediately. don't What What are we ever going to do. to get out of it? Manifest it away. My name is Tessa. I'm 21. [music] I'm. from Lake Mary, Florida, and this is. Financial Audit. What do you do in Lake Mary for a. living? Um well, I work at home as a sales and.
solutions specialist for Walt Disney. World. work from home. From home, yes. Okay, you don't work Okay. I work from home. As a sales and. solutions. Sales and solutions specialist. Sales. and solutions specialist. fancy term for customer service. Oh, sure. What are What are we making? Uh 19.95 an hour, so. 19.95 I think it puts me at 37,000. Living at home. Wait, working out. Okay, when people say. home, especially when we're talking 21, does that mean we're living with the. parents? I live with my girlfriend's.
parents right now. Oh, okay. So, not your Okay. Mhm. All. right, so 19.95? Yes. What do you think comes in on a monthly. basis on average from that? Hits your. account. About 600 a week, so that times. four, 2,400 after tax. So, I actually had payroll of 3,647. Oh. Okay. [laughter]. I've been doing overtime as well. We do. mandatory overtime. Mandatory overtime? so How many hours? Are you working? Uh it was eight hours.
mandatory for one week, and then 10 for. another. So, 50-hour weeks. Guess it's a. way to make money. What do you think. your average is? Is 3,647 on the high. end? I would say that's pretty high. I'd say my average is more like 2,800. Okay. Mhm. All right. So, what is going on here? Cuz obviously, we. have a mess, as most cases with the. show, so I want to know what is going.
on. Yeah, so my mom kind of is the root of. my relationship with money. I kind of. have like a. idea that it's not real. What? Yeah, like I'm very spiritual if. you can't [clears throat] tell. My mom. is too, and so we're just kind of like. money comes back to us. Whatever we. spend, it comes back in. tenfold. Okay, well that's not how capitalism. works. [laughter]. It's not, but it's been working for me. now. Has it? Has it? I've seen your statements. Um.
It's a mindset. to be an interesting thing. It's a. mindset. Brandon, keep track of that. clip. I think I'm going to have you. bring that one back. And what do you. mean you got it from your mom? So you. mean your mom just taught you that it's. just not important? She Yeah, money to. her it's not a thing. She's overdrafting. her accounts all the time. Yes. Because of me going with her to the ATM, she would tell me, "Oh, if you have a. credit union, you could just take this. out and you'll pay it back on your next. paycheck." So I went into like a whole.
cycle of doing that for a little bit. Um. and she doesn't pay her bills. Um and. And what's her situation right now? She. has no job, and I have younger siblings. as well. How the. Yeah, that's. So how's she living? She's They're. behind on mortgage, behind on cars. So they're going to lose the home, they're going to lose the cars. Yeah, I. We're kind of removed from. up to that. That is what you're like, "Oh, that right there, that's what I. want." I don't I wouldn't say I look up. to it, but I feel like I've been.
accustomed to it and It seems like the. perfect learning lesson though. Yeah. Like. certainly I'm not going to throw anyone. under the bus cuz they're doing well. now, especially, and I'm very happy for. them, but I grew up in a really bad. financial situation, and that gave me. the, you know, really strong desire, always entrepreneurial, always wanting. to, you know, make something for myself. and be successful. And build stuff that are successful. because coming from a place where, you. know, we were raised very much lower. middle class. So, when I was born, if.
that, that's even being lucky. Yeah. So, why you seeing everything go. to. cars get repoed, foreclosure notices on a house, how does that not put a fire under your. be like Yeah. never again, never again. I. I think my problem is I'm so self-aware. of the issue, but I don't know how to. turn it around. I just think. I think it's a generational curse like. that I've. Curse? Curse? So, it's So, it's. inflicted by the world, not by yourself? See, if you immediately don't take.
responsibility for our own situations, what what are we ever going to do to get. out of it? What are what sacrifices are. we ever going to make if we just think. that it's this ordained, you know? Manifested away. Well, obviously, you. know, that's not. It's been working a little bit, so. No, it hasn't. No, it hasn't. I heard. this. Sorry. [laughter]. But, they don't they don't know your. situation. So, they're like, "What are. you freaking out about?" That's the. dumbest thing I've ever heard with any. knowledge going into this, but.
Why don't you manifest a score for me. real quick from zero to 10? Mhm. Zero. being the worst finances, 10 being the. best finances, what do you um. think your situation is? Self-assessed. Self-assess. Probably a four. Explain. Well, I don't think I'm. Stop hitting the table. I think I'm not. bad off for. my age. I don't think I have a lot of. debt. I haven't missed payments until. recently. That's all that matters. I I know. I.
didn't realize how bad it dropped here. you think most people your age do not. pay their credit card bills? No. you think most people their age are. overdrafted on every single account? It's not every account. It's just the one. But, no. Question, do you think every people your. age are taking pay advances? Little micro payday loans. Mhm, no. So, you think you're doing well for your. age? For my situation, yes.
How? How? How? I literally just round of. would just. Yeah, I just gave a big old spoiler. alert of your entire situation, and. that's Yeah, like for how I like grew. up, I mean, it could be worse. I haven't. had any repossessions. Okay. I make it work with what I got, and I'm pretty much alone in everything. I don't have family. said you live with your girlfriend's. parents. Yeah. That's not being alone. It's not alone, and I appreciate them a. lot, but it's not the same as your own. family. Sure, but you also have a. girlfriend, right?
Yeah. Okay. She's not helping much. financially. Now, people that come from poor places, obviously, they do have a a harder time. getting up the ladder. That is. absolutely true. Yeah. Do you think your behavior, though. Do you think self-assess. It's that or your behavior right now. that is playing the primary cause. Yeah, I think I'm a little impulsive. And I reflect on it later. I think it's both. you grew up poor or because.
It is that. And trying to get out of. that mindset, but then. bull spend about a thousand bucks. [sighs and gasps]. Fun fact. Math, additions. Oh my gosh. So, is it because you were. raised poor or is it because of your. behavior? I guess it's a little bit of my. behavior. A little bit. Yes, like 25%. 25% of my debt is from my behavior. The. rest is, I think, situational. That.
Like that is circumstances that happened. to me. Yeah, circumstances that are beyond your. control completely. Completely. Not. completely. you could have ever done. [sighs and gasps]. Listen, I have Mhm. I have. It's not that I don't have sympathy. It's just immediately when people try to. [snorts] say it's everything outside of. me, that immediately makes me concerned. because when I Okay, I know your. situation, so let's go into it so that. they have more context. Yeah. Got to remember it's not just a. conversation between me and you. I have to remember that there are people. right there. There are people right.
there. And thank you for being here. Thank you. for If you watch Hammer Finance School, it's free. Link in the description below. and make sure to check out our investing. and budgeting course while you're there, which we give you access to for free as. well. Great. Um so hopefully that'll. help. Give it to your parents and stuff. as well. It sounds like they need it. Okay. So, let's just start with one. card. Ah. [sighs]. The Capital One card specifically. Yeah. Forgot about that one. What do you mean you forgot about it? It closed, so I just pretended it wasn't.
there. Yeah, it closed cuz they cannot have you. spending more money on it. Cuz fun fact. Fun fact, $300 is the credit limit. What. do you think you're at? [laughter]. I haven't looked. What do you think. you're at? $300 is the credit limit, what do you. think you're at? 375. 413. [sighs]. I don't even know the last time I paid. that. Why? So, my question is why? Why. didn't you at least make the minimum. monthly payments like a semi-responsible.
adult? I. I didn't remember it was there. When I. got. Auto Auto pay. When I got a new phone, all my apps were. deleted and I. Oh, You can't do that. [laughter]. What do you mean you didn't set it you. mean? What do you mean? What phone did. you switch to and from? I switched to. the same phone, but I had to get a. replacement. it? The 13. So, iPhone. Yeah, iPhone. The The apps come automatically. downloaded. you have to like tap it for it to come. back and because I couldn't use the. card, I just didn't.
redownload the app. Why didn't you have it on auto pay? And. also, that's like the worst excuse I've. ever heard in my life. But why don't you. have the auto pay? I literally I don't even know why. I. don't like to have money taken out of my. account. I like to be in control of it. It's not, but I like to be in control of. when I want to spend my money and on. what. And I don't like auto pay coming. know you like to spend your money. Yeah. get there. And yeah, it's closed anyway, so I. didn't see like a benefit and like You.
want to know benefit? Right now you're. getting charged $40 in fees. Mhm. $9.86. in interest. Oh my gosh. I just did not realize that. one was that bad. There is past due fees, 40 bucks. And. you're going to get slammed these every. month and you have 170 this year so far. Oh my gosh. And it's sitting there at a. 30.74% interest rate and you're not. touching it. You refuse to acknowledge. it even exists. Yeah. You're just like if you don't think.
about it, it'll go away. Well, to be very clear, you're not a. credit card person. Never use a credit. card. Yeah. In school? Yes. Okay, then. just use the Fizz card, dude. It's what. I recommend to everyone on the show. So. just if you if you're you know, obsessed. with the credit score thing, it helps. you there. Yeah. But you you need a. charge card that's automatically paid. off. You cannot have access to like full. on credit. It says it is not working for. you. Oh, guess what guys? Spoiler alert, we. have a past due. Second account. Let's. go in. Let's go in, shall we? A little a. little past due. Let's see, late charge.
is $19. Past due amount $832. Oh my god. Total amount due $1,290. First of masters, what what is this? What even is this? My car financer. My. loan. This is your car. You only had a hundred Oh, no, I see it. It was worse. Oh, I read the wrong wrong. line. Kill me now. Yeah. Sorry, I'm. reacting to the debt, not to you you.
specifically. It's bad. But this. is insane. This is crazy. What is this car? What is. this car? 2018 Honda Civic. I bought it used. How many miles? 12 or. 112,000. Okay. Mhm. Guess what? How much do you think you. owe? Cuz you don't seem to know that for. them. So, let's see. What do you think. you owe? For that, I know I think it's. like 19,000. Like it's a lot. which is. I just refinanced, too. It was worse.
You refinanced. Someone let you in your. credit history refinance. Make $33,000 a. year net. We have an $18,745. of $54 car debt. $18,754. I don't know what the regular. minimum monthly payment is. It's 430. And we're not paying it. You're not. paying your bills, dude. You're not paying your damn bills. Why have you chosen not to pay this one? I went on a vacation. See? See? There's.
See? See? The. Play the clip, Brandon. Play the clip. Where she. I think it's a generational curse like. that I'm just. Curse? Curse? So, it's So, it's. inflicted by the world, not by yourself? See, if you immediately Obviously, it's. you. You. That's you. That's not what. the world The world didn't say you must. go on a vacation or we will murder you. and your entire family. That's not what. the world said. You did that. That was the choice you.
did. So, how was a vacation possibly. possibly more important than your car. payment? Let me guess. Well, you work. from home. How often do you use your car? I only use it So, I work at home 3 days. a week and then 2 days in the office. have to go to the office. And how far. away are you from the office? Like 30 to 40 minutes. Okay, so you need this car to have your. job, right? Yeah. And we are choosing a vacation. over this, meaning you could lose your. job after this gets repoed in a few in a. you know, in months down the road, how. many how many how many how many how many.
Where are we in terms of how many. missed? How many missed are we at? It's. only those two, I think. Oh. That's a start. That's a sort of a. That's a. Especially when Shocker, we have no. money in our checking account cuz we. decided to What was the What was the. vacation? What was the vacation? Um a. big group of us went to Puerto Rico in. March. You went to. Puerto Rico? You don't You don't get to. go to Puerto Rico. But it was fun. Oh, that's thrilling. It's going to be fun. when the car is taken from you and then. you can't work. And then your insane. situation that's already terrible gets.
worse because you don't have an income. because you can't drive to work because. our country relies on car infrastructure. in order to be able to get to work. So, that's what you're forced to do. But all. of a sudden you can't do it because. guess what? You don't have a car because. you didn't make your payments and it's. taken by the bank. Then they sell it. What do they sell it. for? Well, they probably get it for. $6,730 cuz that's what the car is worth. and then you you owe the remaining. balance. Yeah, that's right. You're. underwater by $12,000. $12,000 on this. $12,000. So, you can't even sell it and. even try to do any kind of fancy little. maneuvering. And it doesn't work right.
now. No. way. It doesn't work. That's also why I. didn't pay last month cuz it's not been. working. But. First of all, that's not how debts work. know, but. how debts work. Ooh, I lost my credit. card. I don't have to pay it. This is. not working. Ooh, the little the little. chip on it broke. I don't have to pay. it. It's not working. Yeah, it's not. working. It won't start. So, it's. sitting at a mechanic cuz I don't want. to pay for that either. Ooh, what what. broke? The uh ECM, the engine control module. does that cost? What is it quoted? $860.
$860. So, how are you getting to work? I've been using my girlfriend's sister's. car. Uh. Uh. Yeah. live there as well? No, but she had an. extra car. So, we've been using that cuz. my girlfriend just told. are you allowed to use that before. they're like "Uh uh"? Her parents are really lax, so. car. Yeah, but under her parents' name. So, they're pretty much lax about it. But, I really don't like. [gasps]. to use her stuff, you know. But, I can't afford that. And they.
offered to pay that, too, to get my car. fixed. But, Why did you say no? I don't want to be indebted to people. Oh, it was going to be a debt. It wasn't. going to be a gift? Well, I don't know. I didn't ask. further. I just said, "No, I'm good. I'll figure it out.". But, you're not good. Yeah. I like to think I am, but. not. Yeah. Let's do reality here for a second. What the do you even mean when you. said that at the beginning, money just. comes around? Money doesn't come around. Money's not coming around. You're not. making your payments. This is your. second account. This is your second. account that is past due. What money is. coming around cuz it's not coming? Yeah,
well, randomly I got like a $600 check. from my past car financer out of. nowhere. Wow, $600. That's good. But, it helps to pay things, you know, and. get me out of the negatives, at least. So, you think You think all the money. that you've spent is coming back to you. when you've only gotten $600 randomly? That's just one instance, but yes, I. think. a year minimum, minimum, minimum. So, why is that not gotten back to you? Takes time.
You have to be patient. That's investment. I mean, I believe in it and that's. what's going to get me through. Okay. Well, you know that's not how reality. works. Belief isn't I believe this. calculator is going to. fly off, rob a bank, give me all the. money, and then I can retire. And it's. like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, happy day.". That doesn't mean it's going to happen. And I believe harder, it doesn't mean. it's really going to happen. The the the. the So, I have nothing wrong with. beliefs and, you know, especially when. we talk about definitely religions. You. don't believe whatever you want, that's. great. But, when you get so ignorant to.
the reality of the world around you that. you don't do what's necessary to. actually improve your life because your. belief is so delusional that it just. completely you and keeps you in a. position where you're endlessly. then what benefit is it? There's no. benefit. You're not being benefited. There's no benefit. Well, you just You. don't believe in that, so you could say. that. why I don't believe in it? Why? dumb. Okay. Okay. I mean, come on, girl. This is. This is This is money. It's. This is This is money. You work to get.
money. You have to put it towards the. bills. And that's how this works. You. don't dream that the tooth fairy is. going to put money under your pillow. They might. You know, I've gotten out of. a lot of other. from manifesting. I had I had a collection that I didn't. pay a penny. I got it off. You know? What do you mean? I had. Collections fall off. That's what. happens. Well, it hasn't been 7 years. I'm only 21. They may have just given up, or maybe it. was challenged, or you don't you don't. know. I disputed it, and then it got and.
it went. not manifesting. You disputed it. You. pushed the You pushed the button. it, though. They could have denied it. because you manifested it. That's. because that's how the system works. Okay. Okay. That's how that works. Uh it's how it works in my world. Your world is the same world we live in. Okay. No. This is dangerous that you actually. think this way. I know I'm going to get. on someone's belief, but it's dangerous. that you think it that way because. you're literally relying on that belief. to save you. And you know relying on.
that belief to save you has led us to. the two things we're looking at right. now have mispayments. Literally two out. of two documents have mispayments. So, is that philosophy working? Evidence. says no. Reality says no. And having. that is literally dangerous cuz I don't. want to see you under a bridge. I don't. want to see you get this car. repossessed. I don't want to see you. just die in poverty and never being able. to retire. I don't want to see that. You're a human being on this planet. You. matter. But there are realities we must face in. the economic condition of this United. States, the economic structure. Yeah.
You could be against it. Cool. Demonstrate that at the ballot box, but. I'm not going to lead you astray in. terms of. you know, what to actually do and how to. face it and navigate it. Yeah. And guess what? In capitalism, manifesting isn't. one of the tenets of it. It's not one of. the pillars. But it Oh. When I know when I thought it. too much, it just makes me like sad and. feel like a failure, so it's better to. be positive.
well, not exactly. But sometimes, yes. Like I I I will come to a middle ground. with you on that one. Yes, I'm not. saying I want you to get overly. depressed about your debt, cuz that's. also not going to get you out of bed. Yeah. But I don't want you to sit there. and think positive about it, either, because that also prevents you from. getting out of bed and going to. doing the work necessary to get out of. it. So, I don't want you to go to the. extremes of any mean. of either one of those, you know? Yeah. So, it's it's not about sitting there and. crying. It's also not about sitting like. Oh, everything's great. I'm going to, you know, go through a field of flowers.
Uh that's not what this is. And you know. what? I mean, let's be be real about the. world word failure. Like, it's it's a. hard thing. Right now, because of where. you are, the reality is, yes, you are a. personal financial failure. Mhm. But. that isn't a death sentence. It's not a. stamp that stays around forever. You. have the choice to get out of that, and. that's okay. Most people that come on. this show are personal financial. failures. I was a personal financial. failure a decade ago, you know? And it. lasted for quite a few years until I did.
what was necessary to actually get out. of it. You can be a personal financial. success. Right now, you are a failure. Yeah. And that is just the reality of. the situation, cuz we're not going to. coddle. What kind of benefit is going to. do to coddle? Like, I'm not going to. lead you to think you're doing great. when you're not. But take that and do. what is necessary to get out of it, and. we'll talk about that by the end of the. conversation. Yeah. You said you refinanced it. Uh. what's the rate at? The interest rate? Before I refinanced, it was at 27%. I refinanced. Now, I don't even know.
what it's at. I think. 17 or 18. Oh. That's usually the rate people would. want to refinance from. I know. I just I really needed a car at the. time. Yeah. So, I rushed into it and. I mean, you definitely got one way more. expensive than you could afford. I mean, I mean, it was like, when did you get. this? It must have been like $20,000 at. the time. I got it um March last year. My other car I was almost done paying it. off and then I got in accident. Okay. Insurance? Yeah, I got a payout.
obviously and then I used that to get. a dealership car. Oh, this dealership. No. And they told me I I wasn't. comprehending. start an OnlyFans with how often they're. like this is crazy. Essentially, I was paying for two cars. with my previous. loan. So, I got out of that at least, but Yeah. it's not any better. I am considering getting a new car. because I don't want to pay the $860 to. get the one out of the mechanic.
So, a minute. [laughter]. That doesn't take away your minimum. monthly payment from your other car, though. Like, what is it? Voluntary. repossession? Like, just give it it. back? Yeah. Cuz I I mean, I'm under. after that even, like, you're still. going to owe so much. Like, what are. they going to get from it, you know? I haven't thought that far. I just know. that I rushed too fast into that car. and I just want to get out of it and get. a cash car or something to get me out of. that loan.
But, I don't want my Well, my credit's. already but, I don't want it worse. I. mean, you're still going to have to pay. like $13,000 after after the. repossession voluntary. Uh so, like, it's it's not still. helping. Yeah. So, [clears throat]. are you going to do a different strategy. getting this new car? What's Just going. to do cash and I mean, if I at least pay the car in cash, I. could keep.
I guess paying the minimum payments for. the loan if I can't get completely out. of it, but. the car is I'm like putting in so much. money for it. For what? So, what kind of car are you looking at? I mean, this is a terrible idea. Like a Toyota, something more reliable. No more Hondas. I know, but but like my. friend was shopping for one similar. for the same reasons. Um. they're not going for cheap right now. Yeah.
Like it's. So, what are you going to You're going. to take on another 20,000? What's your. What's your. What's your credit score? Uh it went down after the late payments. severely. Severely. I was at 660 before. Now, I'm. at like 515. It dropped. you get if you get qualified for another. car loan, even though you're still going. to have something, it's going to be at. the most predatory interest rate I've. ever seen. Yeah. This doesn't make. sense. That's the dumbest thing I've. ever heard in my life. Please don't do. that. Please don't do that. Put the Put.
the repair in. But, there's a recall on it, and then. it's going to be They don't have the. part. On my car, there's a recall on the. fuel pump. So, it's another 6 months. until that part comes, and I'm just. feeling like. What does the mechanic say about that? The fuel pump's fine right now. Okay. But, I've been showing like signs of it. kind of. Is that what the mechanic said, or is that what you think? That's what. my girlfriend's dad said. But, the. mechanic only said it's electrical right. now, I think. Well, I think I more care. about. [laughter].
And you have gap insurance, you said? Yeah. I Yeah. I mean, I I I I wouldn't. I don't know. Even with a voluntary repossession, I don't know. I don't know. That's That's That's. something I wouldn't do, but let's look. at the full situation before we decide. that officially. I mean, pretty clearly. probably not, but Discover we have a. Discover card. Please don't have missing on this. Oh, you're not missing.
Oh, wait. What is this? Wait a second. $97 minimum monthly payment. I need to. look at the next page. $817. balance on a Oh my gosh, the credit line. is 750. Oh, so you had a you had a. like a negative payment towards you. Oh, cuz you tried to pay it and it was. returned. Probably cuz you didn't have. enough money in your account. Yeah, and. I lock my cards, too, sometimes. Huh? I lock my cards as well. Well, let's see. this. those don't come out. No, like my.
checking account. Oh my gosh, what have. you gotten yourself into? You said you're in school. I am. Tell us studying what? Psychology. Mm, okay. Well, you're going to What do you want to do? I'm assuming it's going to take a. master's. I want to just be a counselor. for school. or like a social worker. I'm in between. So I think it's like a master's. Yeah. So you're thinking more school. Yeah. thinking more time. Social workers are.
making more money these days. Um. which is good to see. But even still, that's more time, more. debt, cuz I'm like. I want to increase this income. I do have a part-time job right now, too. Well, I'll give you a certification. through Course Careers. I love them for. the tech, but you know, that's up to. you, but obviously, I love going down Go. down the path you want to go down. That's great. I mean, it's a It's a good. path. It's a lot of school. It's a lot. of money. And right now, your income. situation, I feel like.
Mhm. Cuz. just an empty account leaving this. balance of $856. getting $19.81. of interest at a 27.24% interest rate, having a return payment cuz there was. not enough money in your checking. account. Is that your girlfriend? No, but it's she is the one who got us. together, me and my girlfriend. Okay. Does your girlfriend know how. absolutely. you are? She's like in the same boat a little. bit, too. [snorts].
So, are you guys enabling each other in. that case? I Are her parents enabling each other in. that case? I would say we kind of are. enabling each other in a way. You know, I'm the one who convinced her. to get her first credit card. And then she hasn't paid it, so. Yeah, you're the person to listen to for. financial advice. Because I wanted her to be better than I. was. And so I. And you having a credit card To start. building her credit and using it the. right way. charge cards, guys, charge cards.
Yeah. Still doesn't help you if you don't have. enough money in your checking account. Are you Did you So, essentially, in. reality, in the end, you manifested her. getting credit cards. It wasn't my intent, no. I really didn't. it. I had her best interest at heart. Doesn't matter. Does that matter? Does that matter if in the end they're. cuz of a thing you recommended?
[sighs and gasps]. It I mean, I feel bad. But I mean, she's her own person. Yeah, but she trusted you, followed your. recommendation. Yeah, and she knew the. And you know her. the sky was in, and. she still. And you know her, though. Yeah. Discipline. That. Obviously quite lacking. Mhm. Okay. It. probably wasn't the best decision. Feel free to manifest yourself going. over to CalebHammer.com/apply if you. want to be on the show, by the way.
All right, let's stop with the. manifestation. We'll see. I don't know. I'll probably meme her out for the rest. of the episode, cuz it is a meme. I. wouldn't want to live like a meme, but. that's your choice. It is your choice. Premier, first premier. Why is the friend here and the. girlfriend? My girlfriend was working. Good. Yeah. Needs to. $559 owed on this one, 23 cents. Woah, what is that? Uh First Premier Bank.
Okay. Credit card of some kind. Mhm. Credit limit $400. We're over it. 459. I'm not really shocked at this point. Oh, there's fees. I wonder what that is. I don't see a minimum monthly payment. being made. Great. Yeah. We're just we're. we're just a selling in it's selling in. every way right now. I'm sorry. I I'm. I'm just I'm honestly I'm disgusted at. the debt. I promise I'm not overly. disgusted at you, more disgusted by the. debt, but it just brings out just the. just the captain me.

You've had $183 this year of fees. on this card alone. This card alone.
[sighs]. Wow. So, like we're already at like $400 in. fees just for a. And we chose to go on a vacation. So, again, is it the world or is it you. because how you were raised or because. of your Because of your life choices? You have rent Are you paying rent to her. parents? Yeah. How much? 250. Okay, that's nothing. Yeah. So, your overhead's nothing. Yeah, we have a car payment. We have. minimum monthly payments, which you. could have paid this. I know. But you chose to go to Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico. Yeah. To be fair, I did.
a flight to get there. the money though at the time. No, you didn't. No, you didn't. Okay. That's not how that works because you. didn't pay your minimum monthly. payments. If you can't pay your required. bills, you do not have the money to do. it. That number sitting there, that's. great, but you have monthly obligations. to take care of. Yeah. I I thought I was taking care of them. Then I went to the trip and it went. downhill. March. Kill me. These are the first late. payments I've ever [clears throat] had. Yeah. now. Mhm.
Screwed me. And your interest on this card was also. $51.98. Yeah. Mhm. failed payment on on. What's What's this? The What is this. Klarna? Yeah, but this payment on Klarna of all. things. Of all things that exist, you have a. missed payment on Klarna. What's even. fully owed? What's the entire balance on. your Klarna? Oh, I don't even know. I think it's only. that. this Airbnb for. Puerto Rico? That was for I went to a.
concert the week after. Where? The week after? And this was just happening? I went to. Atlanta. And I didn't want to pay it in full, so. I put it on the. Well, you're living your life like you. have no debt and make 60 to 70,000. dollars a year. You don't. You're not. entitled to it. And now you're reaping. the consequences of it. Yeah. It wasn't a smart choice cuz I had the. cash at the time, but I just didn't want. to. No, you didn't. Do we not understand.
that you didn't because you had payments. to owe and you're double month late on. your car? This was due in that time. So, you didn't have the money. That's not how math works. That's not how this world works, but. again, your take on this world is so. beyond ridiculous that I'm not. surprised. I don't think it's that crazy, but. It's crazy.
World views are an interesting thing. Mhm. I'll just touch on it for a second. World views. Uh. economic structures, political. structures, they're interesting things. because they get to put in be put into. action. Then you compare them against. other ones that are put into action. You. get to see which ones are successful. Your world view has failed you. We have not had a single payment. What are What are we on? We're on the. fifth account. We've not had a single. successful payment under debt. Your.
world view has failed you. Possibly. No. How is it possibly? How. can you sit against every piece of. evidence right in front of you and say, "Possibly?" What possibly? I just I. still think it could be like worse. give a about what you think what. Yeah, you're right. You're right. You. could be living under a bridge. You. could. Does that make your situation. good? Does that make it tolerable? Just. because there is always worse out there, the earth could blow up tomorrow and. that's worse. Does that mean this is.
good? It doesn't. I'll never understand. that because it can be worse this is. okay. Yeah. This is why I dig so hard into people. because people have that mindset which. is so beyond dangerous. This situation is absolutely. and just because there are some people. who have it worse. does not mean that this is okay and that. this is how you should be living your. life and that this is this is good for. you or your future. You're acting like you don't matter. You're acting like your life doesn't.
matter through your actions. Mhm. What's your future with your girlfriend? Proposal? Marriage? Kids? What do we want? Do we want to live on. our own? Yeah. Well, guess what? None of. that is happening with this. Mhm. If you. care about your future with her. if you care about what you want, whatever you want, whatever goals you. have, you're not getting there with. this. I want you to get to your goals. Goals. are fun. Goals are important. You don't. get there with this. You don't get there.
with your worldview either cuz your. worldview has landed you here. Yeah. Sorry. It's okay. It's a lot. It is a lot. It is a lot and it's not that I want. anyone to cry, but I'm happy to see you. have some emotion behind this because it. means at least for the first time that I. can see in this conversation, you are. actually seeing the weight of this. versus just like, "Oh, it's okay and. money will just come back to me. You see the weight of this and it is a.
totally natural human response. I had. many nights like that when I was in just. as bad of a situation. and had to fix it. There are tissues. right there. Oh, thank you. I'm going to miss you so It's okay. And we can take a moment. But this is totally okay. [snorts]. All right. Okay. I think I'm okay. [snorts]. Well, either way you're okay. I promise.
You're as just like a person feeling. this, it is natural, it is okay. So, don't be embarrassed or ashamed or. whatever that is totally chill. And I think it is important that you. feel the weight. I just try to stay positive and I think. that's what's holding me back honestly. [snorts]. Not seeing for it for what it is. Yeah, again positivity is not a bad. thing but if it blinds us from reality, that's where it starts becoming. dangerous. What are some of those goals?
[snorts]. I would like to marry my girlfriend but. we're both so far in debt like it. wouldn't benefit any of us right now. [snorts]. And so that's kind of put on the back. burner for couple years. [snorts]. And we do want to get our own place this. year. We were looking at buying a house but. my credit really got bad so. This year you're considering buying a. house? I was doing really good but my. school's paid for by my job now.
Yeah, but isn't it a. How many hours a week is school? Cuz it. takes time away and then you still need. to go to grad school for what you want. to do. Yeah, I do online right now. What? Okay. So, it takes maybe like 10. hours a week for me to like study and. And what does she do for a living? She's a um. employee. dispensary associate. The Puerto Rico trip, it was supposed to. be like spring break thing. Me and my girlfriend had an agreement. I.
was going to pay for everything. pre-arrival, so the B&B, the flights. You're financing her B&B? [sighs and gasps]. Well, that was for Atlanta. I did. cover the Airbnb. Sorry, go ahead. And. then she would cover the things once we. got there, like food, excursions. The. week of, she didn't have any money. And so. I like took cash advances out um cuz it. was like too late to cancel, it felt. like. So Mhm. I definitely went a little crazy and it. put me really far behind cuz I actually.
thought I was doing good before. Granted, but now. Okay, so I have been put in a tunnel and. I don't know how to say no to her. She's. my girlfriend. Yeah. Sure. Has she paid you back for. those? Mhm. Has there been conversations around. that? Yeah. And? I just I'm a firm. believer, if you don't have it, I mean, she can't pull it out of her. You know. Well, you didn't have it either. Yeah. I just. And she kind of can if she works more.
hours or gets a second job. How many. hours a week does she work? Like 15 to 20. I know, I feel like I'm I'm. I'm. Yeah, I took a second job to help cover. those things, too. Okay, she can pull it out of It's called. getting her in a. job. Yeah. I just don't want her to. But does she spend the rest of the day. smoking her own product or something?
No, I wouldn't say that, but you know, mental health is real and she. Mental health is real. A lot of people. have mental health issues and they. thrive in this world. I like I It's. okay. So, mental health is real, let's. be very clear, and people should get. help. I There is a big tendency these. days of people to be like just. immediately when it comes to any. responsibilities in life to be mental. health. And then that's just like the. end of the conversation cuz no one's. willing to challenge it. I will accept. it with medical diagnosis. I will accept. it with many things. And if people are.
going and trying to receive help, many. times. Yeah. What mental health things that have been. diagnosed are there that is preventing. her from going and getting a job or even. working from home in a customer service. job? Nothing. There it is. Okay. Yeah, nothing. If anything, I have. mental health and diagnoses. I do too. So, it goes hand in hand, but. no, she's. just gets into slumps, I guess. And so. Slumps are okay. Slumps happen. Yeah, the pressure gets put kind of more.
on me. Well, yeah, she's not taking any. pressure. What pressure does she have? She lives under her parents' roof. She. works 15 hours a week. She has no. pressure. Basically the easiest life that's ever. been lived. Then her girlfriend takes. care of everything. Okay. Obviously, you know, you guys. enjoy each other, love each other, all. that good stuff. Yay. Um [snorts]. Everything being put on you and your. finances and all that sh-. And don't get me wrong, you're not doing. them right, but let's just, you know,
for a second. Um. Her putting that all on you is not. indicative of a long-lasting. relationship, especially a marriage. Yeah. Well, we've been together 6 years. now. Okay. Um. And how long How many times have you. guys been independent together? Uh. I probably I didn't realize the extent. of her spending problems and mine until. we moved together. Which was? I didn't. realize how impulsive we are together. though? Uh. 2 years ago, 2022. I've been living.
there for 2 years. Her mom just started. charging us rent cuz it's been. so long. That's when I realized that we have a a. with each other in spending money and. You two go on trips a lot? We did Vegas last year for my birthday. Yeah, went to Georgia a few times. We're going on a trip this month. sense. She She works for What? Yeah. No, you're not. I'm going to. To where? Hert- DC. [gasps]. No, you're going with your friends?
Listen, I don't know who you are. I. don't know your finances. That's not what this conversation was. about. Yeah. I usually I tell them that they. need to say this to their friend, but. since you're sitting right over there, she can't afford it. She can't go. She. can't What's been paid so far? I just paid the Airbnb. It's coming out. of my checking tomorrow. The rest of it. Try. The rest of it? What do you mean the. rest of it? They had like a pay a. deposit and then you pay the rest. tomorrow. Okay, you might lose your deposit. She can't go. She literally has no money.
in her checking account and she has not. made a single payment. She's behind on. her last Airbnb and she's trying to get. an Airbnb now. She She can't go. This is. just being an adult for the first time. ever. It's for a friend's birthday. give a They'll have more. Do they have a birthday next year? As of now, yes, but you never know. Well, if they don't, guess what? They. won't know that you're not at their. birthday because they're dead. So. Like It doesn't matter. They won't know. Oh my god. [laughter]. It'll be sad for you, but like Yeah, I.
guess. what would your What would your friend. care about more? Like, selfishly making. her friend go more into debt to see her. or her friend actually starting to live. a decent life for the first time in. their entire life and changing like. their literal entire family tree because. they come from a place of complete. failure financials. Financially. speaking, this is only finances. I don't. know the rest of her life. Financial. failures to her self being a financial. failure, but she's starting to run for. the first time. What would she rather. see, your friend? A lot of them don't even know my. situation, but.
What would they rather see? Probably just me to be stable, happy. Yeah. She can't go. You can't go. I have. If. I may as well end this conversation now. if you're not willing to literally. sacrifice one thing. Okay. You you you need to not go. Lose. your security deposit. Cancel the payment. Shut your checking. account down like you do. If you need to, if that's what needs to. be done. Yeah.
Okay. It's the hard ask. I'm sorry. It is a. hard ask. I'm like trying to better myself but. like. sacrifices are sacrifices because. they're hard. It's like you can you can. stop the easy things all day. I'm. talking about sacrifices. You actually. need to make choices for the first time. ever. Ever. And no more trips after that until. you're out of debt and making your. minimum monthly payments at a minimum. and have a fully funded emergency fund. at a minimum. Do you have anything in. retirement? I do. I have a Roth IRA.
Oh, that's right. You have a thousand. dollars in there. Yeah. Okay. I remember. It's something. Yeah. So, we're looking to move out me and my. girlfriend like. Well, Because they're charging you rent now? Not just because they're charging us. rent but I just feel like. we're ready to take the next step like. I. I want more independence. I don't. want to live with parents. Dependence. Dependence. I What are you. In what world? In what world can you.
have independence? You can't What are. you? You live under dependence or not. You can't even literally pay your bills. You'll get You're going to get evicted. in two months if you get rent. I was thinking I just take more hours. like at work. Yeah, you need to take. more hours to pay off your debt right. now. Well, how much rent are you looking. at? Like 1,600. That's like on the low end in Florida. I. Yeah. And guess what? You can't do it. It's the simple It comes down to the. same thing with this other trip. You. can't do it. You're not paying There's.
not a single bill we've looked at that. you've paid. Not one. You haven't paid one bill here. Mhm. What makes you think you can pay rent if. you're not paying a minimum $30 credit. card payment? I think it's just like. fire under your like you don't have it. by the 1st, you're getting evicted and. like I work better under pressure. So, I think I would get my hours and I'd. make it work. And then we'd make it happen.
Uh friend off camera, are you willing to. stab her in 2 months if she doesn't pay. off the debt here? Is that enough of a. fire under Will you stab her or. something? Or just a big slap or just. like. like big punch, I don't know. What's. something? What's a consequence to you? What what's what's something that's bad? Take away all her girlfriends. Oh my god. No Southern Nights. That's the club we go to. If that's what. you need, if you need some like end. thing that's going to.
be absolutely destructive to you unless. you get your under control. I know I can do it. figure it out. I'm going to do it. is rent would be the worst choice you've. ever made right now. Like what about December though? Like. Maybe. Let's look at your full situation. and like timeline after budget and. everything, but. probably not, but maybe. Maybe. Love the optimism. Also, you work more hours a week. What. about your girlfriend? I don't I guess her job's very stingy. with the hours. Then she needs another. job.
Oh. Yeah. Ford's doing okay. Unemployment in the United States ticked. up to 4% technically. Okay. And it's not. bad. The amount of job openings in the. country, what is it? What is it? What. was it? Was it Wasn't it a couple. hundred thousand or was it 80,000? I. don't remember. We reported on it on our. other show and I'm blanking on the name, but there's a lot of job openings right. now still. Yeah. I mean, I definitely. think she could get a job if she starts. looking. Yeah. But So, So would you work. more hours when she was not even willing. to chip in at all? I think I just have. like a harder work ethic. Like I don't.
mind Yeah, but she's relying on you and. also at that same time you're enabling. her bad behavior. Yeah. Her immaturity. Wait, how did you get here? I know we. give a reimbursement, but how did you. pay to get here? I had cash. Like obviously I didn't pay. my bills, but I had enough to get the. flight. I bought the rental. I had a. good discount with AAA. Um. And we flew Spirit. That's how much I. wanted to come here cuz I do not like. Spirit. Yeah, but I don't think you get to.
choose. Yeah, I didn't have a choice in the. matter. It was either 500 bucks for a. flight, so. we flew Spirit. I mean, technically. there are consequences like yes, they. could sue you. They could get their. money. Like that. The collections will. hurt your credit. They probably won't. because it's so low Yeah. that it's not. worth their time, effort, or money, but. We'll figure it out. I'll just get some. hours. Your girlfriend needs to work. Or. honestly, you're going to find yourself.
a new girlfriend. As much as that sucks, but the fact that. she literally is like almost. manipulatively. putting everything on you. is. it's kind of gross, actually. Yeah, I don't think it's manipulative. I. don't think we talk enough about our. finances. Okay, yeah, but she said that. she would take care of part of the trip. Then you had to take cash advances to. pay for it and then she hasn't put in. any effort to pay you back and she works. a week. It's disgusting. So that's not. going to be that's not going to be a.
good long-term partner. It's simply not. cuz it's that's a really selfish. behavior. Yeah. And that's not what a. good partner does. It's not. I'm sure she's great in a lot. of other ways, but in general in. finances is one of the more personal. things as well. we're not good in finances at all. Yeah, I know, but she's also taking advantage. of you legitimately. Intentionally it. she is. Okay. And you're also allowing her to and. enabling her. Around. Yeah. Okay, student loans deferred and. affirmed. Thank goodness. 3,500 on that.
one. 6,000 on that one. So, I don't know why interest is on that. one if I'm still in school, but I took a. year off. No. Mhm. Oh. Yeah, I don't understand. Well, Oh, this one's an unsubsidized loan. Oh, wait. Is it Let me Let me see. Let. me make sure. Yeah, it's unsubsidized. So, this one's. not going to accrue interest. It's. subsidized, but. Okay. [snorts]. I have no idea what this.
I just Yeah. So, either way, it's accruing $120. of interest. Okay. A month. Oh, no. I don't know about a month, but. since it started. Okay. The interest. rate is 2.75. It's not an absolute. disaster. Yo, 9,500 in student loans. Wait, what is your current balance? I didn't get that officially. Just the the one the Literally, the. $100. Yeah.
That was it. It was just the like last. payment or something. I didn't That is. so bad. $101, dude. Come on. Yeah. You know, for what it's worth, I do [snorts] kind of understand your. girlfriend because I have employees that. also don't work. Noah, right there, was gone for 3 hours. earlier. An hour. It It was 2 hours. Jake and I counted. 2 hours. He was gone for 2 hours. And he's like,
"Caleb, I'm doing it for the post-show. Something's happening for the. post-show." So, I get it. I'll stay late. I genuinely will stay. late. Oh, I don't care. You don't have. to stay late. That Come on. Come on, Noah. That was just a natural plug for. the post-show. Come on. it was organic. All right, sit down. [gasps]. What's double the love? The stack. so big. Oh, Ulta. Yeah. not that big of a stack, really, compared to what I get, but you're just. literally not paying any bills. Ulta, at. least tell me you paid the Ulta bill. Let's see. Well, let's find out.
Oh, $37 of fees, $8 of interest. At least you're under the credit limit. on this one. Can't believe I'm saying at. least. $54 on this. I can't even really. calculate your minimum monthly payments. cuz this one I know the average or the. normal is 37, but it's 54 right now. because of it. Yeah. 37, 30. $336,098. is the balance. $37 a month.
Um that's it for this one. Yeah, yeah. Oh, it's a 32.24% rate. Okay, finally we get to go to the. checking account. Ugh. This is for the company you work for, it. looks like. Company account. Ending. Ending balance -249,053. cents. Oh, yeah. What can even be done here? What can even be done here? Making more.
money. This I thought I. This is a part of your issue, but. because your overhead's actually kind of. low, that's not your main issue. It's my. spending. That's not your main issue. It. must be. Get to it. Courtesy pay. courtesy pay fee. with these. courtesy pay fee Mhm. NSF fee. courtesy pay fee, courtesy pay fee, all. these fees because you're negative in. your checking account. Yeah, it's. overdraft, by the way, is what I'm.
saying. So, it's overdraft, overdraft, overdraft, overdraft, overdraft, overdraft, overdraft, overdraft, overdraft. Oh. Woah. You opened an emergency line of credit. with them? Yeah, they emailed me and. told me to apply and I did it. Yeah, because. they want to make money. Like no. Emergency line, we owe. $481 out of the $500 limit. Great.
And 89 cents. Uh is there even a minimum monthly. payment? It's like $6 or something. $12.50. Or you're probably late, aren't you? No, I haven't been late on that. I just it pulls from my check. this? Yeah. But there's no money in your checking. Yeah, I just opened that. I think that. month. Dude, overdraft fees just this month on here, they're $29 each. $261 of overdraft fees.
in this one. And then year-to-date, $1,247. you lost in overdraft fees. That's a substantial amount of money to. you. And you literally had that ripped. away because you don't know how to. manage your money. And you're withdrawing money from the. ATM. You just around. None of it matters. to you. You're just like, doesn't. matter. ATM withdrawal. Great. This is. what? Oh, it's ATM and credit.
card, so it could be. Well, that one. isn't ATM. And it's at 10.9%, so that's your best. interest rate and it's at 10.9%. That's. insane. Mhm. Chime. Yeah. Is this your main checking? So, I don't know why I did this, but I. put $150 to Chime a month and the rest. of my paychecks to Partners. What are.
you talking about? You deposited $2,234. in here. I also got a part-time, so I. get some of the money in there, too. Oh, maybe Oh, well, we probably added. those payrolls together. That's how we. got our number that was a little higher. than what you said. 118 is your balance. though in this checking account. It's. terrible. DoorDash, you can't get. DoorDash? You can't afford the. convenience of DoorDash? That's not a. thing. McDonald's, also for the pay the bills. reminder, you work two jobs, she works.
half a job, less than half a job. Then you're getting McDonald's. Southern Nights of Orlando, what are we. doing? What is that? It's the club. The club? Yeah, it's a gay club in Orlando. It's. It's fun. Be gay in your own house, it's free. You. don't need to go to a club for that. Yeah, but the atmosphere, like. am I going to turn lights on in my room. and Yeah. Okay. Well, you don't have money.
Club? Club? Club? You club every second of your life. Easy. liquor, Dave, here it is, Dave. Dave, we're getting pay advance through Dave. Kill me. Cash App-ing it out, Fashion Nova, you. think you're Fashion Nova? You're not. even close. DoorDash, not even for a. second. Dave, not even for a second. Apple bill,
go inside of a gas station, getting some. Dunkin' Donuts, Easy liquor, McDonald's. Oh, this is going to just absolutely. kill me, dude. I can't believe you've. accepted this as your reality. Yeah. McDonald's, turn off your roundups, it doesn't make. sense, you literally don't have money. Easy liquor, Cash App-ing out 50 bucks, Dave, Dave's back. Apple, go inside of a. gas. That's expensive gas. I don't know. What was it? Um.
probably gas. Amazon, you transferred from Fidelity $250. Yeah, I'm disappointed in that one. I just saw they like. I was looking through my Roth and then. it's like, "Take a loan or withdrawal.". I was like, "Ooh, cool. Let me do a. withdrawal." And um, I didn't realize. it's like I got to pay the taxes, but I. don't think it's too bad. And penalties. Yeah. If it was invested Mhm. in your Roth. Yeah. Penalties 10% Yeah.
plus whatever tax is on any gains. I won't be doing that again. being notified that the gas trip is also. likely cigarettes. You're a cig girly. I was a vape girly. at first, but then I thought cigs were. healthier. [laughter]. What? Okay, my logic was that one vape was. like two three packs of cigs. So, I'm. like, "Let me quit the vape.". nicotine content, but not the actual. going to your tar's going into your. lungs, you know that, right? Nicotine, we don't know the long-term. consequences. A lot of I mean, every.
everyone says that it's probably not. healthy, but we know for an absolute. fact that cigarettes are not healthy. How many cigarettes do you smoke a day? Oh, such a nasty smell and disgusting. habit and expensive. It's expensive. Okay. How many? Like half. Like 10. Like 10 maybe a day. I'm happy to say. you don't smell like cigarettes. Thank. you. Um. I'm trying to get off of it, you know, before it gets too bad. Yeah, it's it's. you know, like compared to a lot of this. other stuff, it's harder for me to just. be like, "Oh, I won't smoke." Cuz I know.
it's so addictive and it is one of the. harder ones to. It's when you're drunk. It's just so. Also, stop getting drunk then, cuz you. also can't afford to get drunk. That's. expensive. Um. Uh. Um, does your girlfriend smoke as well? Not cigarettes, but smokes. Yeah. Kind of I assumed that one. Um, okay. Yeah. Just please do your best. Surround. yourself with the right people, which I. don't think is your girlfriend, but uh. surround yourself with the right people.
and try your best to quit. And whatever. method you see best, it's again, I can't. put that in your budget. Just I just. can't. I I do not I'm not going to. kill you with that. Um. How much does it cost a month? You say a. half a pack a day? What's a pack of. cigarettes? I don't even know. After taxes. Oh, the price like 13 for. the ones I get, and I get that like. every 2 to 3 days. Yeah, if you're a half a day. 13 you said? Mhm. 13 times 365 divided by 2.
$2,372. a year going to that, which by the way. is like 5% of your income, if not more, net. Mhm. 200 bucks a month to lung cancer. Is this please? I'm not going to harp on it any more. than that. Please. Probably because. you're young. Probably because you're. young. And that it won't stay that way, and. you're going to age rapidly as well. I want to stay looking youthful. That's. why I need to stop. I know I need to.
And yep, no smoking, sunscreen every. day. Boom. Win. [clears throat]. Quad pay. Two double quad pays? Yeah, that was Zip. I bought clothes. [snorts]. And Dave again, Cash App out $30. More. Oh. Okay, that was Ate that time. Thank. And then you go to Subway. At least you. eat real food. At least. You what? Subway's disgusting. Andy's. Frozen Custard, come on. You just can't. afford it. Cash App and out $101.
Shein. Yeah, I like clothes. Congratulations. Wear the ones you already have. You spent money on them. Take advantage. of it. McDonald's. Easy Liquor. Go inside of a gas station, get into. both. Probably cigarettes. Do you smoke? No. Okay. So, you you. surround yourself with people who don't. smoke, are they? influence. I'm the bad one, probably. Well, she set you up with someone who. only works 15 hours a week.
But, um. besides that, yes, influencer, too. Uh. Uh yeah, help her. Help her through it. You know, one of my one of my best. friends, uh. uh she put a really big goal at the end. of it. They really wanted Her and her. fiance really wanted a dog for a long. time. Mhm. He was like, "Only if you stop. vaping 6 months and no vaping and you. get it." She did it. She's been clean. for I think over a year now. Okay. And, you know, they have their puppy. It's. very cute. Very cute. Pulls on a leash very hard, but it's. very cute.
Um. Yeah. You know, give yourself a little. reward. Uh yeah. My reward is a. cigarette, though. Uh yeah. Exchange it with a just a better. addiction. Um. What's a fun addiction? Uh get into Are. you get into caffeine. Oh, yeah, I'm already there. Mhm. Get. into more caffeine. I don't know. Yeah. More caffeine. [laughter]. Uh I don't know. We'll figure it out. Fashion Nova, Paramount Plus, nothing on. there anyways. Starbucks, more DoorDash,
Dunkin' Donuts, Dave-ing it up. More. Dave-ing. Uh Dave, Dave. Just Dave everywhere. It's great. You can turn off the. Roundups. It's so stupid. Apple. McDonald's, sushi, Wendy's, Cash App, cigarettes, Andy's Frozen Custard, Dave, Zip, QuadPay, QuadPay, Dave. S- That's their cigarettes and Dave. Dunkin' Donuts, Cash App out money, Cash.
App out money. Oh, this is. ridiculous. A bar and grill, Cash App. This is a mess. And to be very clear, play the clip, Brandon. I think it's a. generational curse like that I'm just. Curse? Curse? So, it's so it's inflicted. by the world, not by yourself? [sighs]. See, if you immediately. Obviously, this is you doing it. This is. you. This is not the world doing it. Dunkin' Donuts, car in your Airbnb, Shein, McDonald's,
Southern Nights Orlando. Oh, that's the. that's the the bumping. Yeah. [laughter]. Taco Bell, Andy's. Yeah, I Do you do. Oh my god, no. Okay. I know a lot of people who go to the. club frequently do. Not recently. Okay. [laughter]. Okay, I just know that's another. expensive lifestyle thing. I never pay. for that. And you have an addictive personality. I. have an addictive personality, so I know. I have to stay away from things like. that. Like I've never smoked a cigarette.
in my life. I've never really had the. desire to, but I know if I did, I would. be addicted because I have a very. addictive personality. Yeah. Maybe that's what it is. I'm addicted to. spending money. And if you're addicted to investing, open a Moomoo app. That's what I use. That's why plug. That's a good plug, wasn't it? [laughter]. It's a weird job. [laughter].
Uh. [laughter]. Oh, this is Dave. Yeah. I'm in the Dave account. Dave's. been deleted. He's not He's toxic. Good. Yeah. Good. Okay. Dave. You know what? Credit. Credit where. credit is owed, okay? Like actually Well, good job because. like you were just getting fees and just. this is just crazy. This Dave was. insanity. You still owe money to Dave? No, I put money in there and I don't. know how to get it out, so it's just.
there. It's like $2, so Leave it. Just. stay away from Dave. Yeah. Okay, so you spend um. a lot on cigarettes. How much does your. uh girlfriend spend on I know that's not. exactly your but I'm curious because a. lot of the payments are your. responsibility. Yeah, she gets a. discount obviously. Um Sure. Like 200, 300 in that area. Um What could I offer you if you quit? What could the reward be in 6 months? Uh If you quit and I think I'm just.
ready to quit in general, but I don't. know what a good reward would be. Yeah, but I want to give some positive. reinforcement if you do it. So we like, I know I come in here and I I go very. intense because a lot of people again, you you specifically said the phrase and. a lot of people think it. It's like, oh. there's people that are worse than me. So you think your situation's okay. I. need to make sure that you don't. But. also at the end of it, I also want to. give some positive reinforcement. Let's. let's get let's get a reward if you do. something good. You know, I want you to. do well. [sighs]. [snorts]. Mhm.
Okay, what was the flight here? How much. did it cost? It was 215. 215? 215. Okay. I'll fly you. back out. to celebrate. 6 months of no smoking. and me, you, Noah, and Clara. and then anyone else who wants to. will all go to. the coolest.
uh Are lesbian and gay bars separate or. are they together? They can be together, but they have like separate nights for. it. we will rage for exactly 30 minutes. [laughter]. And then night time. That sounds like a plan. That's the reward. That's the reward. Okay. Okay. 6 months. I don't know how. to prove you haven't been smoking. Just. just be like honest. Yeah, but also I don't know her. It's like, oh I'll [snorts] do it. I'll.
do it. Okay. I've been waiting for a. reason to. So convenient. Nice. just then go to. as a very introverted person probably. the scariest place ever. club. people humans. Yeah, you call it sweaty and sticky. I. think you say. Sweaty and stinky that's. usually clubs though. Yeah, I mean. my friend knows always like just get. drunk and it'll be better. He's the. alcoholic of the office. But.
it's okay. He'll probably get me back in. the post show he always does. Um This. week's actually a really nice one. But. I don't know I don't want to do that. either so but either way that'll be the. reward that'll be the reward. Got it. We are basically halfway through the. year and I need to make sure you guys. are saving your money in the right place. in my resources section in the. description below. You can sign up for. one of the best high-yield savings. accounts that are but you can also get. $300 for free with qualifying deposits. You can also get FDIC insurance up to $2.
million on your money and get 4.6%. on the money that's just sitting there. It's exactly where I put my money. Why. let your money lose money when it can be. making money. It's the biggest. no-brainer in the world. Open up a Sofi. high-yield savings account now and get. that $300 for free. Yeah, the Davis. Oh, cash app. What are we doing here? Cigarettes. And back and forth. Cuz imagine that saving an extra 200.
bucks a month. It would help. And your situation is actually pretty. dramatic. Airport lanes. sounds like a bowling alley. It is. Bowling alley bowling alley Texas. Roadhouse popcorn carts. Come on. You're. spending so much money. You're spending and then a thousand six. hundred seventy nine in a fidelity but. we know you withdrew 250 there it is. That's stupid. Lot of compound. [sighs]. So how are we looking?
No, it's completely but I'm just I'm I'm. trying to think. And your spending's out of control. Let's do a budget. Let's just see where. you're at. Obviously, again, go through. the budgeting and investing program and. you'll build your own and you'll learn. how to manage it. But this is this is a. rough one. You probably actually make 3,400. Yeah, that sounds right. Okay. Uh okay. You need to start making your minimum. monthly payments. What's hard is I don't. know What's your normal car minimum. monthly payment? 430. Okay, and the.
other cards I'm going to kind of take a. guess just based on like normal credit. card minimum monthly payments. Yeah. Okay, 602.5. I think is what. your minimum monthly debt payments are. Mhm. Okay. [gasps].
300 for rent is what is that what you. owe? Is that what you owe? It's 250. That's insane. Is that split. with you and your girlfriend or is that. your part? It's my part. have to pay anything? She pays 250, too. Okay. Do you put anything to utilities. or internet or is that just That's done. Okay. Phone bill? 70. I just send my dad money. Switch to. Helium, 20 bucks a month. Yeah. Uh what T-Mobile definitely covers. that area, right? And we found that out. last episode when someone needed a. specific coverage that That's the same. tower, so.
Do Will you do that? Yeah, I'm about to. finish paying my phone off. Good, and you'll switch? I'll switch, yeah. Okay, I'll put $20 then for that. Gas, vroom vroom vroom, driving. Like. a month, maybe 100. We like to My job's pretty far. yeah, 100's low. I don't think so. I only drive 2 days a. week, so. 2 * 4, like eight times. But then I do go to the clubs and stuff. We'll do 150. Well, you're not going to the clubs. anymore. Okay. Well, is there an entry fee?
No. Just for the drinks. Yeah. Pre-game. Yeah. And then you can go to the club. Car insurance? Oh, god, it's a lot. 300. 300 roughly. And then we have to figure. out your car situation. Uh TP funds, it's 100. Anything else you. need to survive? How do the groceries. work in this house? Her mom buys everything. You don't have. to put a single penny? Is that why they smell like a. No, you don't. [laughter]. Medical health care? Gym?
Um no, it all comes out of my paycheck. already. Like health health care. Okay. Uh but you don't have like co-pays or. anything ongoing. Okay. No. No subscriptions doesn't make any sense. Do you have a pet? Yes. [clears throat]. Cat? Dog. How much? Um like 200 monthly. His food. He's. He's spoiled and he's been having. problems like health-wise. So, the vet's. like co-pay of like. How old is he? He's only a year and a. half. The co-pay for the vet? Yeah, like it's. like a hundred. insurance? Mhm. Okay. So, 200 bucks a month. Yeah.
Just He's wild. It's just as much. Throwing his back out at 1 year's old. Okay. [sighs]. I mean, you took on the responsibility, so. It wasn't my choice. Her mom gave us the. dog. I didn't want a dog. Great. But now. we have it, so. Do you like it? Yeah, I love him now. I was going to say. very hard. at first. You are so. Oh, I didn't add the debt. Yeah, that's. going to.
All right, let me redo this. Make sure I. do this right. Your dog is very cute. Thank you. His name is Dexter. Is he going to serial murder you? Yeah, he's mischievous. He was named after the cartoon Dexter. Oh. Dexter's Laboratory. Him and his lab. Yes. Yes. $1,372.53. is what you need to survive right now. Don't move out. It'll be the worst. decision you've ever made in your life. Let me just take care of your situation. Well, I let me tell you how to take care. of your situation so you can clean up. and you can move out I think quicker. than you think. Okay. Mhm, the car.
I mean the car is going to hurt that, but. and there's not very much maneuvering. cuz you were taken advantage of. You. essentially have an extra Let's just. round it $2,000 a month. Round it down. Wow. And that's if you actually just be a. responsible adult. Mhm. So, there's nothing in the savings account. is there? No. Okay, open up a. SoFi or whatever high yield. Mhm. Then,
first month, $2,000 and let's just give it a little. room. Really $1,372 set aside in there. Let's just call that month number one. for a little bit of just, you know, learning lessons. You're figuring out. you're sitting to a budget for the first. time ever. Okay. Cool. Normally, if there's a little bit of. extra stuff, I'd give a little bit of. fun money, but we're not doing it for you because. you're missing all your payments. So, you don't get it yet, but we will allow. it after a bit. So, second month, what. are we doing? Killing Klarna.
Immediately. In fact, I'd do that in the. first month, yeah. And but second month, we're killing Capital. the Platinum Capital One Platinum. Yeah. Killing Discover. We're killing Premier. There you go. That's month number two. Month number three, Ulta's gone, Eline. is gone. Okay. Are you kidding me? That makes it seem. so much more doable. We're halfway through month number. three and. all your debt's gone except for your. Honda Civic. Yeah.
Um. I think you think you can borrow the car. for two months? Yeah. Okay, good. And then you're. immediately in the second half or three. months in the end then the money left. over at month number three plus a little. extra, that goes to the car repair. Okay. Do that. Do that. Do that. Then. it's month number four. You have the. car. This is what I will allow. The money that is left over from these. minimum monthly payments that you have. can now go to fun. But you still have the $2,000 to put.
towards the debt starting in month. number four. Okay. The fun is funded by. you paying off the cards, getting. rewarded by no longer having those. minimum monthly payments, okay? Okay. But $2,000 is still. to the car. And actually $2,000 because. it's so it's actually a good amount of. money and you have 18,000 owed on that. Nine months. It's literally a year. You kidding me? Do you know how insane that is? You have. so much and gotten into such a. bad position by 21, but you can be out of it by 22. You literally get a fresh start at 20.
Yeah, that'd be nice. You're probably. going to have student loans for grad. school. Hopefully you can cash flow as. much of it as possible cuz you could. have actually cash flowed a lot of this. Well, actually well, why do you have. student loans if it's paid for? Um. I got forced to go to college, a private. university. Yeah. And my mom didn't pay anything. Why would she pay? She promised. I told her I didn't want. to go. happening on this show. Yeah. It was COVID. I told her I don't want to. go to college during COVID. She told me I need to go or I get kicked.
out. So I went. That's okay. Well, now it's in your. name, so Yeah, I didn't know that. Parents, stop doing that, you guys. And Disney covers my college now, too. They cover it as long Will they cover. grad school? Mhm. Okay. Cool. As long as I'm there. Uh and then the. student loans, I would minimum monthly. payment till they're paid off cuz. they're less than 3%. It's kind of cool. Uh so one year and then at that point.
what I would do is save up $10,000, which after the car minimum monthly. payment's taken out, you can do that in. four months. Four months, so a year and four months. and you have a $10,000 emergency fund. and you have no bad debt and you can. move out. Okay. And you have a paid for car as well. That'd be nice, yeah. Yeah, and then when you when you're. ready to upgrade car, you know, you're. saving up to buy it in cash preferably. Yeah. But you can also put 20% down as.
long as the. car loan length is no longer than 3. years and as long as it's no more than. 8% of your income. Okay. The Money Guy rule. You know, I love my. guys Brian and Bo over there, so. Sounds good. Yeah, that's what that's. what I'd do at that point. Um. This whole conversation's been really. dire. Yeah. Um and there is such a massive. short open there the the the the light.
coming through the short tunnel on the. other side is huge. And you can have that if you literally. just sacrifice. So. I will challenge you one more time. Mhm. Is it the world that did this or did you. do it? I definitely. Besides the parents with the student. loans. Yeah, I mean, I did it. My. spending shows that for the most part. Good. Because the reality is if you're.
able to get out of a situation you put. yourself in in literally a year that. means it's your choice. Yeah. That means it's your choice. So. it is now your responsibility and your. choice if you want to live that better. life. Mhm. At that point 50/30/20, 50%. to needs, 30% on wants, uh 20% on investing, you'll be able to. retire a good life, especially when your. income goes up after, you know, what you. want to do and everything. Um it's, you know, you actually have a. bright life in front of you. I'm a. little worried about your relationships.
Just make sure people aren't taking. advantage of you. Mhm. Doesn't mean you can't have healthy. relationships still. Just make sure. they're not taking advantage of you and. make sure you're not enabling anyone's. bad decisions. Yeah, for sure. I think you actually. could. And then, you know, 6 months. we'll see how you're doing cuz you will. have been 6 months. nicotine free. Nicotine free. Okay, nicotine. No vapes, nothing. Nope. Nope. Nope. And uh.
I don't know what party up and then 6. months after that you'll be debt free. We'll do that on the follow-up channel. and it'll be great. Let's get your. hammer financial score. It's going to be. really bad right now, but it's actually. going to be good in literally a year and. 4 months. Yeah, that's crazy. Plug the post show. There's a surprise. Caleb can flex on us. Let's find out. We'll figure that out. Spending a budget. obviously zero out of 10. That was the. most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. You're not paying your debt. You have. you're buying your payments, so your. debt's zero out of 10. Emergency fund,
there's nothing zero out of 10. Retirement, there is started but you. pulled out of it. It's basically nothing. one out of 10. 21? Yeah. I'll be generous. Uh two out of. 10. Real estate, nothing zero out of 10. It's going to be a hammer financial. score 0.5 out of 10, but it will be a. lot higher very soon if you literally. just sacrifice. Um make sure you stick. around for the post show and make sure. you check out all the resources linked. in the description below as they are. what I use or would use in specific. situations, including the best budgeting. program in the history of the internet. and the best investing program in the. history of the internet. Today on the. financial audit post show. Back in the. day, you played the trombone and that.
was your musical instrument of choice. Is that correct? Uh yes. Good. Better be cuz I went and rented. a trombone this morning. [laughter]. This guy stinks. [music]. Caleb, get out of here. To watch the. financial audit post show, click the. join button below.
