name is Lauren I'm 31 years old I live. in Fort Worth Texas and this is. financial. audit I'll be honest it's not normally a. good sign when a girly comes on with her. girly Starbucks drink to the set room of. the show talking about typically cutting. back in order to make sacrifices usually. not the best sign what do we got there. what do we have Starbucks well no sh. what do you have in your Starbucks drink. oh it's a green tea lemonade okay.

the description below if you subscribe. through the link in this post it helps. support the growth of the channel it's. better at Starbucks I'm sure it is I'm. sure there's 10 times as much sugar okay. well thanks for coming down though I do. appreciate it um I know it's a long. drive so you got probably how you. excused that spending what do you do in. Fort Worth for a living I work in. Boutique construction. sales what the okay what even is.
that so I work with customers whose. homes are uh a million plus and we um I. mostly focus on Windows and like big. door systems okay stuff like that cool. what do you make I um salaried at 66 a. year okay and then uh I also do earn. commissions but I never like I earn. commissions but I don't count on them. well okay what's like a normal monthly. commission amount.
um probably like 600 maybe maybe about. 600 decent is that what hits your count. or is that like extra before taxes. that's what hits my account usually okay. so an extra $7,200 a year hits your. account that's not bad okay well when. you say it like that yeah but it's just. when I say it like numbers yeah it's not. guaranteed money so I I said what comes. in on average for a monthly basis so we. can kind of average that out and add. that up right maybe higher yeah it can. be higher sometimes if I have a good.
lower sometimes then you aage it out. yeah is it safe to say an extra $7,200. hits your account on a yearly basis or. else like you know 600 is like averaged. cuz someone a month yes can we say. $7,200 hits your account on a yearly. basis like we we need to be able to get. your numbers yes yes yeah that's the. math yes okay I just haven't done that. math why would you not rely on such a. substantial part of your income I'm.
confused um cuz I like to have hobbies I. like to have hobbies does that mean how. does that even answer my question I. don't I budget my regular paycheck for. my like necessities and then I no bud I. budget my commissions for my my hyper. fixation hobby your what my. hyperfixation hobby whatever it is for. fixation hobby. yep so you're endlessly are you are you. someone that's LLY into something like.
crazy for a moment then you fall off it. and then you're in the next thing cuz. that sounds like an endless revolving. door of spend. spend it can be that way sometimes. sometime well is it you called it a. fixation hobby so well I'll get like. really. into one thing and then I'll move on to. something else like six months later so. what I literally just defined yeah but. it's not like for one month it'll be. longer than that okay I'm so confused I. mean we' had a couple episodes now in a.
row where people budget based. on the different kind of pays that come. in instead of just like the income that. comes in regardless like why aren't you. budgeting in terms of just your total. income and then decide where money goes. based on that based on our goals. objectives and Current financial. situation which is not a good financial. situation which is why that purchase was. probably bad but why would our bonuses. not be going to that I think a pretty. good hobby is getting out of debt that's.
a good hobby well actually speaking of. hyperfixation you've gotten out of debt. so you've hyperfixated out of debt yes I. and you hyperfixated dropping out of the. Dave Ramsey program and now you've. hyperfixated going into that yeah that's. pretty accurate okay I did Dave Ramsey a. long time ago what's a long time ago. you're not that old. 2021 okay I don't think you know what a. long time ago is but 3 years ago yeah. why are we here.
then my situation changed and I just uh. started I got I I I did Dave Ramsey in. 2019 to. 2021 and I was in like. $37,000 of debt back then it's a lot it. is a lot um and there's a lot of reasons. why but I got myself out of it and then. I saved for a long time and I went to. college I took two years off I went to. college I got a bunch of degrees and. certific a bunch of degrees what's a.
bunch of degrees well I got like my ba. and then I got a I had a minor and I was. pre-law but I didn't go to law school. and then I got a bunch of degrees and. then I got certificates like so you got. the normal degrees Yeah I guess and then. I got you think everyone's getting a. bunch of degrees I mean sometime. sometimes yeah but you're just. graduating like normal isn't getting up. okay and what were your certifications. uh I did uh legal studies certificate a.
data analytics certificate and I got my. capm cuz I want to get my PMP for. project management the what are you. trying to do with a law and then Tech. I'm very confused I don't know that's. and my ba is in political. science yeah I mean a lot of people do. that before they go into law school and. it sounded like you were setting. yourself up for law school yeah but I'm. 31 and now I just don't want to be in. school for six more years years so yeah.
I don't blame you and the expense what. do you want to do no what do you want to. do I haven't decided yet I want to. you're not 21 anymore no I'm. not listen you have to do something at. some point even if it's not your dream. thing because if you don't you end up in. this situation constantly yeah the. situation of being in really debt. missing payments fees Dave Ramsey when I. was like when went through Dave Ramsey.
that was like I never had any financial. literacy before congratulations welcome. to the American experiment or Human. Experience yeah I just is what everyone. goes through I just kind of spent and. spent and then I didn't know how I was. going to go back to college ever and I. was was your plan when going through. that program to go back to college yes. be able to take two years off of working. it's not like they don't talk about how. to do college I think they go about it. in a little more extreme way necessar. but if you were going through the.
program you would have probably followed. that I believe you've done the exact. opposite I have student loans in here. yes I do which I'm not necessarily as. opposed to as a tool but I know if you. were actually going through that program. you wouldn't have taken out student loan. so I'm a little confused you can't blame. that what are you doing well I didn't. have like a lot of uh like I didn't have. enough money saved in uh my savings to. cover the last semester so so you. weren't going through that program.
though and again I'm not necessarily. opposed to that mhm but you're blaming. the program it wasn't the program no I. just I like I was young and I like I've. been on my own for a long time since I. was 16 okay two years before most yeah. sure I moved like I'm from Alaska and I. moved Texas by myself and why just to. start over to go to college why 16 no. when I I moved to uh Texas when I were.
on your own at 16 um I had a much older. boyfriend who I wanted what's much older. he was he was 23 when I was 16 okay I. thought you were going to say like 40 if. you say much older is it older is it. inappropriate yes of course well you. know when you say word much also like. when you said a long time ago three. years ago it's like okay I see you are. obviously an OV exaggerator of things I. I moved in with him and I my mom and I.
were not like getting along and stuff. like that and she was a single mom like. I was just done I'd been an adult for so. long you moved in with him okay yeah and. I like had my own life and I did my own. thing and we just smoked and played. video games and I thought I was an adult. so yes that's what adults do I just I. just lived my life and then when I was. 20 I decided we had split up and I. decided I was moving to Texas to go to. college but I had no Financial literac y. I had no help I had no I had nothing.
teaching me how to be an actual adult so. I just started taking out credit cards. looked out any look up anything I mean. yeah I didn't have financial literacy. either but then I pursued it by trying. to read things listen to podcast. whatever I could do Google understanding. now I have that watchcar what are you. talking about no you don't but I don't. make good choices all the time then. what's even the. point I want to get out of debt for once.
and for. all how would this conversation change. that uh because you went through the. program then you're blaming the program. then you got back in debt and now and. it's not just student loans it was just. student loans we probably wouldn't be. having this conversation it would be too. boring that's true. okay so what are you talking about want. to get out of De once and for all that's. okay that's a good thing actually that's. great woo wonderful but what is. different this time cuz none of it. matters if we just end up here again.
what is the point of putting in that. massive amount of sacrifice again if we. just end up right back here cuz I'm. older now I want to like settle down and. I want to like have a family and I have. nothing you have a boyfriend I I don't. anymore as of like a week and a half. ago we uh we split up so I'm single. again hear that and that's part of this. like I want to get my finances under. control cuz now I'm in a single income. and I have to move do you have a kid no.
okay wait. okay settle down want a family but we. don't have any of the yeah I'm starting. over again I get that that's okay that's. okay I just I thought I had found my. person what happened well um turns out. that he was like way more uh. conservative than I thought he was and. uh what does what does that even mean I. could not see myself ending up with. somebody that was such a republican I.
couldn't I couldn't do it okay so you. guys disagreed about politics yeah among. other things like religion and like how. to raise kids and a couple other things. but sounds like you guys were completely. incompatible why why the how long are. you guys together okay so we knew each. other for 12 years almost and then we. were friends for eight of those years. and then last year we decided to give it. a try and we thought we could one year. yeah we thought we could give it like we. thought we could give it an honest. effort and like an honest effort through. being completely incompatible and not.
agreeing on any kind of what was the. kicker I told him like I couldn't do it. anymore and I couldn't I didn't know if. I could handle it anymore but I made him. kind of put the final nail in the coffin. if you will and do the final breakup you. made him yeah cuz I I wanted to keep. trying I wanted to keep I wanted to keep. like I wanted an option for compromise. and I wanted an option to build a life. together and all that and he was like.
yeah I think we're just better as. friends we're too different it's it's. over so now when we share a house and. utilities and you guys are still renting. together and everything yes yes well we. yes how your finan has been impacted in. terms of this well now I have to find a. new apartment that's going to cost more. than my half of the rent and I have to. start paying all the utilities for a new. apartment by myself that's going to be a. lot more money what have you guys. discussed cuz this is going to impact.
everything we're about to go through we. um have to be out of our house January. 5th we were it's coming like 2 seconds. yeah well originally we were going to. buy this house from the homeowner we're. renting directly from a homeowner not an. agency or anything like that okay and a. pipe burst under our house in late. October and then um we were supposed to. sign on December 17th to buy the house. out from the homeowner you guys were. going to buy it you weren't married. correct you engaged. um we were actually supposed to be.
getting engaged this week supposed to be. getting engaged planning an engagement. like it wasn't even like a no one. proposed not yet okay but you knew when. okay whatever after only dating for a. year and being completely opposites in. total in terms of values in life yeah. pretty much sounds like you go through. life very responsibly okay. um and so we were supposed to buy the. house yeah and uh the homeowner decided. that he wasn't going to sell it to us. anymore cuz we wanted to him to fix the.
pipe and um so he said yeah I'm not. selling it to y'all anymore it won't. pass an inspection I'm selling it to the. city and y'all have to be out so now we. have to like that happened and we're. breaking up and it was like a so what's. the plan though I am going to have to. move into an apartment that's it yes. that's it yes okay. okay all right self assessed we're about. to get into the docs where do you think.
you are today 0 to 10 Z being the. absolute worst 10 being the absolute. best where do you think you are today in. your entire financial situation I think. that I'm like a. four realistically you just went back. into debt out of after getting out of. debt and you're talking about not being. able to afford a place on your own in. what world would you be almost straight. down the middle because like I don't. have a like I'm not insanely in credit. card debt and like I don't I think.
having fees up the would count. as pretty damn bad regardless if you. have a th000 credit cards or not how. about you make payments on time and then. we call it being okay yeah you call. yourself okay you miss. payments I don't know if I've missed any. payments I don't know maybe I have you. don't even know so how could you give. yourself a so confidently a four you. don't even know I just I just thought I. wasn't that bad compared compared to the.
homeless man on the side of the road may. not like that. bad but you know I like I I well I don't. have any retirement and now I don't have. real estate either but like I that you. didn't have real estate I didn't I. didn't have real. estate I'm not. sure maybe not a four you want your. Hammer Financial score it's linked it's. fun it's free it's in description below. and if you want to come on down to.
Austin Texas come on down we'll have you. on the show it'll be a good time we'll. have fun and then I'll verbally give you. some punches and it'll be a good time. and go to Caleb hammer.com apppp thanks. for being here by the way I think I. thanked you at the beginning but. regardless thanks for being here I know. it was a decent drive and all that stuff. so so what is going on with this Alaska. mileage Bank of America card uh that's. my like everyday card I just put. everything on there all the time pretty. much why would you do that if there's. interest to crein why the would you put.
everything on there every day well I. thought that was how you were supposed. to do it too cuz I'm like building. building credit me you're 31 listen you. do the 18 19 20 I don't know anything. about finan is fine you've been through. a lot of Life you've paid off cards. you've gone through education you've. gone through literal education from the. uh from the Ramsey people so that. doesn't make sense you know that's. incorrect or you were just stupid while. you were going through it all or you. forgot it all which one was it I think I.
mostly forgot it all no you don't forget. something as basic as that come on okay. oh interest is bad oh wait I forgot how. what we went on a big family vacation in. October and I put a lot of money on that. card that I would where where did you. guys go what' you do we went to Florida. we went to we went to Daytona Beach and. then we went to Universal for a few days. why' you go when you're drowning in debt. cuz I have to. no do you want like what I'm in love.
with Shrek and they have new Shrek area. at universals that's not cute shut the. up I don't care you can go to Universal. at any time you are 31 why are you. acting like you're 13 cuz I like to have. fun I have a countdown on my phone to. Shrek five the movie coming out that's. cute that doesn't mean we go into I'm. confused have you ever been to Universal. have you ever been to Shrek land no. Shrek land just opened in May so you had. to go no but we went like all my friend.
you're not a Disney adult you're a Shrek. adult yeah I'm a universal person not a. Disney person cool but does that listen. I'm confused that's okay to be into. something that's okay to be into. something and have a passion right yeah. absolutely but does it make sense to go. into thousands of dollars into debt on. something that is a cre interest and. things that have missed payments late. payments does that make sense no no it. does not make any sense but I then why. would you do it it because I wanted to.
take care of the people that took care. of me while I was in college what you. mean who did you take care of so well I. went with my best friend and her husband. and her daughter and then me and my. boyfriend but why you're not in a. position to take care of them why not. get out of that have a fully FR. emergency phone make sure we're decent. on retirement and then treat them you. don't you don't get to treat people if. it FS yourself I didn't I didn't think. about it that way I just wanted I. graduated in December of last year and. we wanted to go some you just graduated. recently yes and I wanted to do.
something that was really nice when did. you go to school you said you moved on. here into school forever ago it took me. 10 years to graduate I went off and on. oh my good death I went off and on and I. paid for I went to Community College I. took a class you to every College. apparently I took a class in order to do. it 10 years sorry go ahead I took a. class when I could pay for it and I. changed Majors a couple times and I took. some time off like I did take a couple. sem like you know when I why are you. delaying this whole thing by a decade.
though because you just you lost the. best decade of your life for compound. growth in the marketplace you're. literally fing your retirement by doing. this like it becomes not worth the cost. of that point when you elongate it that. long and then lose any time in the. market yeah and I did have a 401k uh. what do you did yeah I cashed it out a i. meting a t why' you why why' you cash it. cuz I wanted to do the finan when I was. doing the financial piece thing I wanted.
to pay off the last of my but you. weren't doing it cuz he doesn't say pull. from a 401k I thought he. did I don't think so I oh maybe I didn't. I know I stopped contributing to my 401k. yeah say that when I started the program. and then I was going to quit my job to. when did you go through this um it was. 2019 how did it go so 2018 to 20 did you. attend like what.
you this is huge for financial audit for. a year now my team and I have worked. with experts to create what I truly. believe are the three best educational. programs in the financial space online. we have our budgeting program where I. teach you how to create manage and. revolutionize your budget and control. your money and then there's the. investing program where I teach you to. Define what investing profile applies to. you and your life and then teach what. specific investing strategies applies to. you in that situation and now finally we.
have our debt program where I teach you. the best ways to pay off debt manage. debt and even take advantage of good. debt this has been a revolutionary. project that we've been working on for. over a year now and just like over. 10,000 people who've already taken our. educational programs you can now take. advantage of all three of them bundled. together at a 15% discount I've heard. from thousands of people now who've. taken these classes and they've. literally changed their lives for the. better and finally you can too at a more.
affordable price head to Caleb. hammer.com or click the link in the. description below you will not regret. this how did it go so wrong from you for. you I feel like you listen to half I. went to like a YMCA every Wednesday. night for an hour and a half and anding. went to sleep I thought I was following. the program how do you think you're. following the program without following. the like I'm confused you objectively. didn't he's against student loans in. every way of fashion I don't necessarily. agree with that I think you get a good.
return on your investment with low cost. low interest uh federal student loans as. long as you're doing it an appropriate. way with a good major Community College. first but he's against that you did it. so you didn't follow the program and I. do not think he says pull from a 401k I. know he says stop contributing yeah I. stopped contributing but you still but. you weren't following it what are you. talking about I thought I was no but how. can you think that I'm so confused how. can you think that if you were not oh. pretty sure that Dave Ramy the financial.
piece said to pull my. 401k I'm pretty. sure no I mean just I don't even know. what to say I mean I haven't I don't. know maybe I'm wrong I I mean that was. years that was a few years ago so maybe. I'm wrong a long time ago but I I. thought that's what I needed like my. last big debt was my car no you took a. shortcut he's typically against stuff.
like that because again you didn't make. any sacrifice to change any Behavior to. pay off your debt if you're pulling from. a 41k it was just how much was pulled. from this oh it was only like maybe. $1,900 I didn't have like a subst $4,000. by now yeah that would have been like. $50,000 by retirement or something yeah. I understand that now but I didn't you. would have understood that going through. that program if you actually paid. attention that's what that's what's. irking me is you say you went through it.
but you were doing things now and then. that were not in that program and I'm. not even like defending the program you. just what you're saying makes no. sense I didn't know that I thought I'm. sorry I thought I was did you know. anything ever I mean yes because you're. like oh I had no basis of financial. education then you actually tried to. learn something but then you did. completely the opposite of what was. taught in the financial education thing. so it's like if I give you our budgeting. investing and and are that class are you.
taking the classes the quizzes and then. you're doing the opposite of it is this. how you operate no no I want to do it. like I want to do it now and like set. myself up and get different this time. because I'm older now and I have. understanding that means nothing I know. mature 24 year olds and immature 55 year. olds that means nothing age is nothing. it's what you're doing your experience. and your maturity less about how long. you've been here yeah so what is. different now well I mean you already. answered it and that's not a good answer. I want to have I want to set myself up.
for a better I have very small 401K I. want to like start investing heavily in. that pay off my debt as quick as. possible and get back. on be I I'm want to Shrek cuz of Shrek's. giant green no I wanted to take my. friends I'm sure that thing's I wanted. Boston swamp I wanted to take my friends. and I I bought fast passes for everyone. you B wait how much did you spend on.
this trip when was this the beginning of. October I like two seconds hold on hold. on okay who multiple questions coming. from this sorry I I want to let everyone. know there's. $1,475 on here and a minimum payment of. 223 I realized I didn't say that. multiple questions from. here you literally just told me you want. to get out of debt you want to get. retirement this was a month ago no way. has your entire life structure mindset.
goals everything changed in a month so. that has to be incorrect you have to be. or you're vaguely just starting. to want to and you're pretending like. you actually care about it and. two how much did this cost well we. booked the trip back in like June I. don't give a that's also not that long. ago but how much did this cost how about. you answer either of my questions well I. the fast passes were like the trip how. much did everything cost the whole trip. I probably spent.
$4,500 mind you to survive to survive. you pulled out 2,000 from your 401k but. you're willing to spend $4,500 on. Shrek's. ass I didn't think of it that way I. wanted to take care of the people again. this and that's why I asked do you think. about anything ever the correct way and. then you got a little insulted but just. look at that come on look at that answer. yeah it sounds it sounds bad I mean 36. $0000 for fast passes.
was part of that and I had a great time. and I got to take care of the people who. took care of me while they while I was. in school I get that that is a that is a. fine mindset and I am not against your. mindset of caringness and kindness it is. how you did it do you understand it is. how you did it absolutely like yes I I I. I wouldn't I wouldn't do it again I. guess but. at the time I just wanted to have fun so.
on here you literally purchase. $2,031 why are we doing that when it is. acre $120 in. interest um I that's the card that I. swipe for everything so even my I get. that I'm asking why you're putting it on. this card for sake come on you already. gave that answer before because I get. Alaska Airline miles and I go home so. for every every dollar you spend you get.
miles back yeah yeah and like certain. what does that cash back come to. typically I don't know what it equates. to exactly but are you defending it like. that you don't even know how the math. Works no but it's expensive to fly home. it is expensive to fly having this. credit card is $120 a month expensive. what are you talking about it well I. just don't really I mean I just want the. airline miles cuz then I don't have to. pay the it's like $1,200 to fly home for. me so I want to be able like if I earn. enough airline miles then I can go home.
for free it's not for free you're paying. $120 a month to have it how much is an. Alaska Airlines ticket booked mons in. advance like $1,200 $1,200 yeah and how. often do you get a $1,200 flight for. free well I normally go home like twice. a year at least and is it fully free. yeah $1,200 so you get well you pay like. you get $2400 of flights for free a year. yes well yeah. usually you have to pay like a little. bit of a fee what like.
a there is no way you're beating the. interest on here there is no way that. the miles and everything that you. receive is a 60% return on your money. cuz this is probably at 30% and you. achieving $120 in interest on a monthly. basis there is no way you you have to be. incorrect mathematically there could be. no world with that it's a reality but. this the the I don't normally carry well. no I do carry a balance on that card. yeah there's $10 thousand do in here. what are you.
do I don't what what were you about to. say I was going to say that it it like. you I put everything on it cuz I get the. airline mil you already said that that's. why I do it that's why I do it yes but. I'm trying to say that you have to be. incorrect about the return on this you. cannot be getting that $2,400 in flights. a year that is impossible that you are. getting that because there is no way. that they are giving you a 6. % return on your money cuz you are.
losing 30% on here your math is not. mathing dude I've never done the math I. don't think I well no that is the most. clear thing and that is the most correct. thing you've said so far. today I just I didn't know that I just. look at the know what which one the. benefit I just you the benefit of having. the Alaska Airlines you get a companion. pass too every year so you get to do a. buy one get one free plane ticket with. that credit card every year so that's I.
this sounds like a great credit card I. love this credit card this credit card. has a great benefits you are not getting. the return on it though you are paying. essentially $120 a month in fees to have. access to this credit card and there is. no way there is no mathematical way that. if you are paying that on a monthly. basis that you are reaping double that. reward there is no way that everything. the credit no credit card would exist if. that is the case and that's the only way.
for what you said is doing you're doing. to be true is if you beat the game. unlike anyone else in the history of the. world I didn't know that no what that. there was fees on there oh is it's just. the interest it's the interest. understand. okay yes the interest yes yeah I get. that now it's I don't I just didn't. think about that like. like I get I keep the card cuz I have.
the benefits of the airline miles and. the Companion Pass and hey I want to let. you know a little thing I don't know if. you do this in every single. conversation your entire way out of. being pushed back on anything is I. didn't think about that so far in this. entire conversation the moment you get. pushed back and you realize oh maybe I'm. not right the only thing you've ever. said in this conversation is once you. get to that moment is I didn't think. about that and you are not going to get. through life on I didn't think about. that I'm calling on that now. because that can no longer be exactly.
how you're living every second of your. life I will excuse that for maybe one. thing but you have said that now about. everything the moment when you finally. realize that okay hey maybe I'm not. actually getting the return I thought I. was getting and then you're like I. didn't think about that you've said that. like four or five times in this. conversation so far and I'm not trying. to be a dick but that is absolutely. ridiculous and you are going to. like die and starve in life and then. you're going to be oh I didn't think. about that. I didn't I didn't drink water for two.
days now I have to get hospitalized oh I. didn't think about that that is not how. this is going to work and that is your. entire excuse around everything so far. and that is unacceptable and that is not. a way out and I'm not going to let you. off okay. I okay I. didn't okay what s what say your. words I don't like I did I did the she's. really struggling say I didn't think. about no no no no I did the so I did the.
financial piece right and I don't think. that I un like I did close a lot of. credit cards and I took you know a lot. of stuff did you not think about. financial peace while you were doing it. what spending that. $10,000 no no when going through. financial pieace I didn't get to the. later baby steps I haven't got I haven't. gotten there yet well no refus to get. out of I haven't got out of De did you. complete the program like I did all. eight weeks or whatever of the class the.
classroom stuff I know how works I think. there did you complete it yeah I just. didn't do all the I haven't done all the. baby steps cuz I didn't get there cuz. you refuse to leave what I think is. considered step one you have $1,000 in. savings. yeah I I have $1,000 in savings okay so. you made it to number two right Dave am. I doing this. correct well in your checking account. are you considering it that is not set. aside yeah that's my that's where I keep. my like that's what cash yeah liquid.
savings liquid cash that makes no sense. there is actually money in there but. again you're just letting it sit in. there I I'm confused cuz you could again. because I get scared scared of what like. it not being liquid or not being it. could be liquid dude if you put it. literally in it could be in a high old. savings account or Mumu it's an app I. used to invest but you could literally. sit it in there uninvested and I think. they're uninvested cash for the first 3. months or 9% you can get it out whenever. without a fees no no fees oh I didn't.
know well you're you're not gonna get. through life being afraid or I didn't. think about that or not being able to. look it up anything yourself I'm. confused cuz I feel like gosh I'm really. sorry I the conversation stack and I've. just had a lot of people that are like. oh you know just I'm 30 whatever now and. it's just like I came from not knowing. anything about finances that's everyone. in the United States of America and hly. in the world that get Bor you get bored. not knowing anything and then what you.
learn is what you learn and if you. didn't learn it you know that finances. are a part of your life you have the. ability to read a book go to a library. library Google things listen to a show. and then you signed up for a program and. then you still didn't even help so I'm. confused like that that can't be an. excuse throughout the rest of your life. is I didn't know anything about finances. you've had over a decade of almost a. decade and a half of adulthood now f it. since you left home more than a decade.
and a half now that's true okay so it's. all on you at this point all on you I. think it just hasn't been a priority why. why would it not be a priority then cuz. I just wanted to do what I wanted like. this I wanted to spend and I wanted to. go on vacation and I wanted to. do other things like we bought we got. into this house this this year and we. had a lot of you know Furniture to buy. and a lot of is no one is no one willing. to live Scrappy anymore dude I came down.
here I lived on an air mattress for like. seven months while I was fighting to get. out of a debt we tried to like I we got. a couch from family and some dishes and. stuffff but there's still like if you. tried to how do you fail at trying to. not buy furniture the only way to fail. it that is buying furniture so what the. are you talking about I wanted to. buy like some nice like you try to get. out of things so easily I wanted to I. wanted curtains and I wanted a coffee. maker and we needed do you not realize. this about your personality one one bad.
thing I have a couple bad things about. my personality I'm a bit abrasive I. interrupt a lot and um I play Devil's. Advocate a lot one thing about your. personality let's just call out our red. flags real quick you immediately try to. get out of any kind of push back and. excuse yourself cuz I said why couldn't. we live Scrappy for a bit you said I. tried to that is not correct because we. immediately discovered that you wanted. to go buy all this extra stuff you you. didn't try to you didn't try to at all.
if you don't accidentally stumble into. purchasing a ton of furniture that's not. how that works well I mean we did though. like we did get furniture from family. that's great but you still purchase. Furniture yeah we needed a couple other. things what did you need well we have a. lot of land so we spent like $2,000 on a. riding lawn mower yeah we we we have. like uh four almost four acres wait how. much on this right lawn mower it was. $2,000 oh for it was used it was a used.
lawn mower what are Furniture you said. Furniture well we needed like I wanted a. home gym wanted that's not you had you. have multiple Acres of Frolic in I. wanted um like patio furniture wanted. you keep saying wanted you did not need. you did not need patio furniture we. needed curtains there were no curtains. in the entire house you could go very. cheap with that if you wanted to yeah. actually you know what I used in my new. home for a while cuz I was just and I.
don't recommend this cuz I I could I. could afford I could afford it but I. literally used the the like the. this we already had some used stuff that. you put behind people when you take. pictures and I just put that up months. you just put backdrops over your windows. cuz I didn't feel like spending money. for a little bit okay I mean now I. didn't need to do that but it shows that. you can be Scrappy I'm not saying you. had to do that but. come on the patio furniture it was.
important to me for the house to feel. like a home like you build up to it not. need that immediately I wanted it to. feel settled I know what you wanted you. just told me you did not need that. immediately that's true I I you did not. need to ride Shrek's magical Dawn. coaster at. Universal yeah I wanted it I wanted it. well either way forward Universal which. must have was it on this card even. it was but it was a previous statement.
like I said we you're allowing it to be. 10,000 now well we booked it we booked. it in June and so like I've been paying. you know I've been paying towards the. card and a lot like some eating out and. stuff like that while we were in Florida. on that card but it wasn't on this. statement so I feel like there's going. to be something every month with you cuz. again and and here there's a ton of. spending you had the we have to decorate. house month we you know and then we have. to get the travel month and it's always. going to be something do you at least. use the gym do you use use the btio.
furniture oh no not always we I like to. entertain so we have people over and. we'll use the and they just sit in the. gym no they sit on the patio fure. occasionally but not as much as I would. like I mean it yeah I I I just wanted I. want I want it to feel like home and I. wanted to offer things and I bought it. off Facebook Marketplace you I get it. you have $110,000 on this card yeah.
you're paying $120 a month in interest. so I don't give. a guys join us down here in Austin Texas. for the First Financial audit live event. we're going to be doing a live Financial. audit some Financial audit follow-ups. and a post show it's going to be super. fun there's only 400 spots available so. go to Caleb hammer.com and I'll see you. down here in Austin on February 22nd I. wanted I have money I've been very. blessed and I've you also worked very. hard and paid off debt all that stuff I.
still have a guest bedroom that hasn't. even been built and then one that's only. half built okay come on it were I've. survived I've made. it people have still stayed with me when. they traveled here you'll be okay Disney. plus that's expensive it's the bundle so. it's like Disney. Hulu uh ESPN I think you went inside a. store got some BS a cheap little snack. or drink then not registry Starbucks.
Starbucks apple we know you look at that. we know you love it yeah an apple bill. or subscription it's expensive 1944. Cavender's Boot and another Apple bill. or something 10 bucks there The Tavern. Bowl Apple bill or subscription Taylor. Swift shop 75 that's an expensive hobby. to get into being on that's recurring. reoccurring yeah a subscription to. Taylor no it's not a subscription she a. billionaire and you're poor so why don't. you take care of yourself but that she's.
like my favorite so I'm favorite what. she doesn't know you exist I like to. think she does she doesn't well she. enjoys your money I'm sure she does it's. all spent with fuel from her plane I. like her like I you do buy all The. Cardigans I bet you do you have no money. and then the well the holiday collection. just dropped too so no you're not going. to get it I already did how much was it. how much was it possibly well okay but. I'm no how much was it was the question.
and you're going to answer proba $200 oh. for f sake you are losing. $120 you said you want to get in a. position where you can have a family and. kids no no you don't you you're. married to being stupid with money. that's you're married to just getting in. a bad way but when it's just one little. thing it's not one little $200 is not a. little thing do you you don't understand. the value of a dollar you don't. understand no no no you legitimately do. not understand the value of a. I think I do you think that's one little.
thing if you use that kind of phrase you. do not you do not you do not you don't. understand the value of a dollar if you. think that is a small little thing like. the ARs tour is ending soon yeah it's. been ending for about 5 years no I went. so I went to the show in Arlington I'm. sure you did I'm sure you spent way too. much money on it oh for sake of Swifty. in front of me I'm going to die and then. we are still thinking about going to. Vancouver well you're not going to can. we make that very clear she's not more. important than your future you you say.
you value wanting to have a spouse and. kids is is T so Taylor's more important. to them cuz that's what you're spending. as reflecting what what are these new. tickets going to cost then travel to. Vancouver well I have airline miles you. know she releases a new album every. twoing months this is she do not she. actually she does like I'm surrounded by. Swifty non-consensually and I'm not even. anti- tayor Swift she is the best. business woman in the world I have airl. love the catchy stuff but now if you. listen to an album you skip a song uh.
just you going to play 5 seconds with a. song Skip it to the next song feel like. you're listening to the same one this is. nothing anymore I hard disagree on that. but you can disagree about it but I mean. it's there it's in the same three keys. same time signatures she I grew up with. her she's just a few years older than me. so like I just we. grew you don't exist to her she doesn't. know just your money just your money but. I have airine miles so but we've been. through. this if we go we've been through this I.
I want like I I'm going to if we're. going to go then we're going to use the. airline miles and save money there and. then we're going to just get cheaper. tickets to and then you're going to go. to our next concert because the tour is. going to get extended or it's not and. then she's going to start a new fiveyear. tour next year dude she's milked you. she's milked you she understands you you. have a subscription for $75 to her store. no it's not you said it's reoccurring. what do you think sub Buy merch that's. not reoccurring that's you being a. reoccurring dumbass I reoccur I reoccur.
i p my purchases reoccur with they can't. even acknowledge a bad song when there's. a bad song there's a few and then and. then well thank you you're better than. many that I know a few skips I'll I'll. admit that W I've never even heard that. in my life this is I feel like an. Awakening is. occurring and they're just not my tastes. the money the amount of money that is. just being thrown towards it and again I. don't care one of my best friends is a. Swifty love her to death and she can do.
whatever the she wants to do because. guess what she's out of debt and she has. a good retirement fund and she's set and. secure so I'm like go do it go waste. your go go no no not even waste your. money go spend your money on listening. to the same three songs go ahead I love. it do it that's great dance to it the. okay whatever yeah sure do it you it. doesn't make sense regardless of who it. is it could be the best artist in the. world doesn't matter. does not matter to be clear you are.
saying Taylor Swift is more important. than my future that is what your actions. are saying do you get that I mean I get. that that my actions say that but I. don't think what else would be the other. then what's the alternative if your. actions say it what is the alternative I. don't I don't see it as like that big of. a deal because it's a like a one-time. little purchase here and there and she's. like my favorite artist so I have.
favorite artist too I don't my entire. future for them this is again kind of. what's weird about swifties to me is. you're willing to destroy your life for. a human being that you are destroying. your life financially speaking fin you. don't actually even know cuz you your. your car gets any kind of trouble then. you might lose your income because you. can't get to work because you don't have. any ability to borrow money or anything. you don't know the consequences of your. actions here and you are willing to. destroy life you say what you want in. life are those things that you will not.
be able to achieve because of this no. one else does that for any other. artist and yet it is millions who this I. mean Swifty yeah swifties are we're our. own breed we're a little bit crazy you. did break up with someone because of. their politics and he was also not a. Swifty well I mean I don't even care. about politics and stuff like that but. it's just like or like the agreements. the whole reason but it just sounds like. you're very kind of like almost like. culted you're a little culted mindset a.
little bubbled there was other reasons. why but yeah like that was like one of. the final Nails in the coffin which. again at that point usually we just. don't we figure that stuff out in like. date number four whether or not we're. compatible on just values and stuff and. that's okay you guys were friends for so. many years and you're just it seems like. with the Swifty being able to spend so. much money while getting destroyed in. debt like literally you spent $75 on. here which is half the minimum the. payment or a little no it's like a third. of it and you're gaining interest on. this and you're willing to go see a gon.
concert and all this. craziness and then breaking up with. someone after forever for a vote and. it's just like I don't know you seem. very bubbled but that's part I mean. that's part of the reason I want to go. to Vancouver and see her again is. because like I'm going through this. breakup and it's going through this. breakup it's done with theard well we. still have to live together still have. to see him and I still have to like. it's touch and. go s but yeah for then stop touching and.
going cuz that's going to elongate those. feelings well now no I mean even though. I do that with every breakup I always do. a touch and go I mean we just have to. cohabitate. peacefully I love that little cohabit in. the guest room I'm in the other side of. the house and he's in one side of the. house and they always and those rooms. unite happens every time happens every. time no it does not but now so now. you're right Swift would probably not.
approve wish that was a joke Taxas. Roadhouse Apple Bill Ice House Villa. Nails and. Spa $70 you just let's see let's. see you have pink normal nails I'm like. what what are we doing I what are weing. doing do them at home that's what my. Swifty friend does she figures out way. so she can save up for the next ticket. she does her nails at home. home I for S snooze Kohl's.
Chick-fil-A Target it's it's a little. unknown sometimes with that Top Golf. that's usually expensive no that was. just a little feed Apple. Bill Apple Bill great yeah I'm glad you. spent money there Apple bill again. Target what kind of subscriptions do you. have um I do. peacock and um I have like uh Hulu. Disney plus that kind of stuff um a. couple other I pay for the subscriptions. in our relationship so like the all the.
streaming stuff I that's one of my bills. so I pay like half the rent and then I. pay water and I buy groceries and all. the subscriptions and then he takes care. of but you guys got to stop you have to. it's time to you need to be able to. separate and be able to sacrifice this. is a weird thing you guys got going on. cuz if you can't sacrifice in your life. your bill some things that you actually. have control over it's not a utility.
yeah but it's like what we agreed that I. would I know and it's you might just. need to have another re agreement if he. wants a subscription he can pay for it. we're I'm moving out soon so I can can I. could cancel them all what is this. $300 REM remedy meds what is that like a. spa uh no. 300 it's online. OIC okay so I started taking why aren't. you seeing something to the doctor and. using health insurance I don't have.
health insurance you don't have why. don't you have health insurance you have. a job my job doesn't offer it it doesn't. how big is your company they're too. small there's I'm only one of 21. employees it's too small sense so. they're not we we looked at doing uh. benefits and we're doing a 401k stuff I. I'm just going to say this and it's I. thought it would be the one of the first. things I would ever do as a business. owner as implement it then I looked at. the price of what it would do it would. be our in our entire annual payroll in a.
one month basis is what it would cost to. set ofth insurance so I do kind of get. that small bus it can be very hard to. afford it as a small business side. that's why they have that like 100. person rule or something yeah but either. way why don't you cuz you could get you. could get just at least something for. like 300 bucks a month bare minimum just. so that you don't get why allow yourself. to I thought that it why allow yourself. to get like a few $100,000 bill of. something major would have happen I. thought that like for the exchange you. could only get it if you like were low.
income and Stu you could go and get the. basic bare minimum that covers only. really crazy things okay you still got. to pay pretty out of pocket isn't that. like. $600 basic I don't think so I mean I pay. like five and I'm pretty mid on mine I. thought it was like really rude I don't. know go look but I'm it's again this is. you I think I thought find out Google. you're not you're literally because. you're unwilling to Google allowing.
yourself to potentially die and not get. preventative care and now you are. spending a health insurance payment on. oamic and I don't care take it I. should probably take it too I'm afraid. of needles so if you guys see me get. skinny it's all natural baby but I don't. care you probably should for health sure. do it I don't care but I feel like you. could be doing this in a more price. effective way I just even have like a. sponsor it's probably not a sponsor for. this video we I we think we've only done.
it one time but they like help you get. connected with lowcost versions like. there's so many options if you just. Google Google Google the literal. definition of your life unable to look. something up you just decide I'm going. to I fo feel like I was pressured into. the OIC a little bit pressured like you. know how when you like get into a doctor. no not by a doctor. you know like you get into a. relationship and you start getting that.
like love weight you're not in a. relationship and well I was yeah but you. just paid for this I yeah and it was. it's a it's a monthly charge of $300 so. I'm on the like I this was like month. three so we how much weight have you. lost uh so far I've lost like 10 lbs. which is pretty normal it's a you. supposed down isn't your appetite. supposed to be like broken or something. yes why are you drinking calories cuz. cuz they're. good I need something to drink but like.
I feel like we have free drinks uh okay. okay okay you're pressured though I just. like we we both kind of gained weight in. the beginning of the relationship you. get all like happy and you go on dates. and stuff like that and you eat out more. that's why I'm so fast and then you you. know then you want to lose the weight. and you like it was I got so many ads. for it on every that's impr that's being. and there was comments and so. I wanted to from him yes okay cuz seeing.
ads is not being pressured you're an. adult with ability to advocate for. yourself okay what was this pressure. like with you guys just one damn card. sake you want to like you want to look. good and you want to do the things sure. you said you were pressure from him and. then you keep saying things that aren't. from him it it was a little bit it was. just comment comments a little SL. comment here people make said pressed. you to get OIC he would be pressuring. you to get OIC he wasn't like outwardly.
imp so you weren't pressured to get OIC. you probably felt bad from a couple. dickish things that he said that he. probably shouldn't have said but he. didn't pressure you to get OIC I'm not. going to allow yourself to victimize. yourself no I mean yeah it was like it. was like snide comments and it it. affected me so which that makes sense if. you said that I would have been totally. on your side but you said he pressured. you into a $300 a month payment and that. is not correct I would have put on your. if you said exactly that but again you. tried to manipulate it in a way to make.
yourself look good and get out of being. called out on that $300 payment this is. what you keep doing you keep looking for. a way out of being confronted with. something for sake you had $23 of. fees this year so far meaning you've. been late like six times or something so. there's an annual fee what's the annual. fee 95 okay well guess what it's 203 and. then I did a balance. transfer what. because I did used to have a card but. you haven't changed.
Behavior what it was like at a 30. something per interest so I balance. transferred it to this card at zero so. there was a there was that like 3% fee. that they that they make you um pay for. the balance transfer it's PR in a couple. months and guess what you've uh made no. progress so congratulations we're just. going to be back in the same boat again. because we didn't change anying behavior. when we balance transferred cuz what is. the point doing a little shortcut if you. don't actually what is the point of. dieting what is the point of going on.
OIC if when you're off of it you're just. going to go right back up by not. changing your behavior I think I have. made some progress on it though probably. minimum monthly is but you spend on the. card I yeah but I but I am making prog. you're bragging about this you you're. bragging about this the money in your. checking account we talked about where. put that's going to have to go to the. apartment anyway so it's not like you. actually even have savings it's my. savings it's like I use like savings but. it's not it's like I have to set it. aside apartment yeah I have it set aside. for moving expenses and then um I want.
to get a new car what is want to get a. new car what do you mean I have to be. careful with your words cuz your words. have been crazy so far your what you say. and what you mean are disconnected. Beyond in this conversation so far I. want to get a new car yeah my car is. getting pretty old want my suitcase like. that that's a I don't know what that is. keep going I want to I my car is getting. pretty old and um it's got about 110,000. M on it and it's a Chrysler so I want to.
like I want to get a new car before this. one completely crops out so I can still. get a decent tradein value for it you. know well I mean you your trading value. is going to be kind of reflected on if. that car is going to survive or not but. right so I want to trade it sooner. rather than later when do you owe on. your current car no I don't owe anything. I that's one of the things why is it. it's worth about $7,000 we have a valued. that a Chrysler 200 year again uh. 2016 miles say 110 I think this should.
be able to go for a bit a Chrysler well. how is it are you doing maintenance well. on it what has anyone said I I do the I. do the basic like oil changes and stuff. like that but I haven't had a. transmission service or anything like. extensive why aren't you fully taking. care of the car in terms of just going. and just getting like a at least a. couple year check up on everything just. to make sure you're not having to pump. money into it why how are you going to.
get this other car if this apartment is. going to be like a month or two and then. uh down payment and then you're probably. going to need Furniture so it's like a. home so like well I have all the. furniture now what car are you going to. need all right guys I get it you need. more financial audit so we've decided. now in our membership below you get two. exclusive seen nowhere else uncensored. Channel and the growth of this business. join the membership Link in the. description below I thought or how are. you going to how are you going to get it. I meant okay so I thought that I my top. of my budget would be like maybe like. 33,000 for a car the you're talking. about so you're going to go further into. debt okay good job going Financial Peace. but you really listened but then I would. have my not I don't even want to give.
her our classes for sake I think it'll. be you'll just get worse cuz you'll hear. the best like education that you can. hear then you're going to do the. opposite but then I would have my. tradein of $7,000 you're talking over. $30,000 and then I would do my down. payment of the tax title and license at. least with what cuz guess what the money. in here is going to the damn apartment. which might be first and last month and. security deposit plus application fees. plus some furniture cuz you're not.
getting all of it I will get all the. furniture confidently yeah I paid for it. so I'll take it when I move he didn't. get any of it no Okay good does he agree. with this yes good yeah we've already. we've already kind of divided everything. in the house he gets the he gets the. riding lawn mower and I get everything. else what a. man but I like I'll have the the tradein. value and I'll put the tax title license. down so then I won't have to um Finance. as much like it'll be I'm trying to.
you're going to have to finance like. 25,000 what what are you talking about. like I don't know what where this money. is coming from that you're talking about. well I I have a job so I'm yeah. to bring you're saving up $25,000 in um. a month even though you have a credit. card that you can't pay off because you. refus to because you spend more money on. it and interest is acre and you only put. the minim monly payment towards a little. more it'll be for like sometime in the. in 2025 like the beginning like in the. first three months oh wonderful okay so.
four months from now yeah yeah you've. made no progress on this credit card but. we're coming up with $25,000 to be able. to buy this car in cash no I was going. to finance like some of it just not what. sum of it to you not what is 20 maybe. like 20,000 of it we save. $5,000 we can retire is that not the. like you're adding $20,000 to your debt. pile and the rate's not going to be. great we're not in some super low rate. environment how am I going to get a car. that's like reliable and I'm I'm I'm I'm.
potentially suggesting that you might. not need to before you do get a detailed. thorough review of this by a mechanic. your car see if you can ride this thing. out for a few more years unless it's. completely in condition I don't see why. now you just got over 100,000 miles all. of a sudden this thing's that's not how. every car works I just thought because. it's a Chrysler and it's like not I. don't know go ahead and get it checked. dude yeah I mean I you're getting a. whole ass new car $20,000 loan it's.
going to be more like 30 let's be honest. cuz we know your finances maybe all. because a car has just ticked up I. thought it was important to trade it in. while it's still running and op and. working well you know I wouldn't. necessarily be against this but you're. talking about getting a $35,000 car I. how are you how are you not. comprehending that I am sorry I am. aggressively mind blown at how you are. not comprehending that I thought that. was just like the I mean isn't that how. much a new car about costs why do you. need a new car you could get a used car.
yeah I can I just haven't I bre through. ladies and gentlemen I haven't really. looked that much yet I just know it's on. the horizon I'm trying to keep it on the. hor like it's on the. horizon hopefully this conversation's on. the horizon that's my. 401k. $537 sake CH to 300 drivers reported. their Vehicles operating reliability for. well over 200,000 hour Miles when. wellmaintained which is your. responsibility some uh some even report. chry of 300s last it's 200 I doubt.
that's all going to cut the lifespan in. half $500 in our retirement but guys. we're getting a $30,000 car don't you. know just how you have survived is you. know what's awesome about this show this. is really cool and I know I've just been. like aggressive but you know what's. awesome is just. like I did not realize before the. show how. how. crazy everyone is with their money and.
just delusion around their spending and. understanding about finances until the. show Even though let's just pretend. people weren't even getting help on the. show let's just pretend people that. weren't even getting help that are. watching the show like literally over. 10,000 people we know maybe 20,000 have. F changed their lives because of. watching the show gotone out of dead all. that good stuff Let's Pretend none of. that even happened this show could go. down in a history book finally. demonstrating the average American. Consumer on how dumb they. are I've had some people ask like can.
you get a normal person on the show what. the do you think a normal person is in. the United States of America welcome. everyone has a car loan and all this. this is consumerism too it's core that's. what we're kind of told though I mean. you have to put you have to get a credit. card yourself no I can't it's just when. that's all you're told is you have to. get a credit card to build your credit. you have to have a car note to build. your credit you have to you know get a. new car get a. $10,000 balance on a credit card they. did not say that they did not I advocate.
for the get a credit card in a healthy. and safe way I talk about the fist card. debit card that bills credit love it. that's. great I yeah and I just think it got out. of control a little bit well through. your behavior through your consumerism. through you being an average American. here we go Amazon Chase Card wow did I. just make it to another document who. would have thought we would make it here. this conversation is derailed in so many. different. ways are you having a pleasant time at. least yes I feel helpful I feel like.
helpful I feel like no I feel like this. is helpful I hope so it's usually. everyone's like big uh wakeup call yeah. um yeah I it's it's even if I'm dying a. little but I think we're all able to. reflect in the end uh okay so. 1,000$. 22255 on here. and you purchase basically exactly how. much you you put towards it so $36 miny.
payment why not just have your balance. go lower instead of purchasing almost. identical of what you put on it towards. the payment I don't get it why not get. closer to debt free I made bad choices. and put that's not an. excuse I sorry sorry go ahead I it's. been really difficult mentally and I. going through this breakup and the. losing the house and everything like. going on in life and I everything going.
on in life yeah I tend to just want to. spend some money and I kind of go into. my hobbies a little bit so I've been. buying a little bit of more stuff for my. hobby what are you getting what's your. hyperfixation hobby of the. Legos Legos. Legos W how much are you buying in. Legos are all these Amazon orders Legos. not all of those ones are but I have. what the you talking about I have I've.
bought more Legos since that spent on. Legos I'd spent like $400 a month not on. average just in the past month I've. probably spent 400 on Legos isn't it. just like one set anyway no I buy a lot. of the little sets expensive they are. expensive but I'll look on Amazon cuz a. lot of times Amazon does deals all. Amazon spending and Prime video you got. a couple rentals and stuff in here uh. $61 interest this year so far let me see. that Amazon account oh okay I'm also. getting ready for Christmas too so.
I'm what what you have have debt Merry. Christmas I'm getting out of debt you. what are you talking about okay so you. can just scroll oh we have a fairy set. coming and a Christmas Town set coming. we got a shirt or pants or bag I yeah I. returned a bunch of those oh well you. turn turn one got a bra probably never. had any of those before guys we got a. giraffe shirt shirt shirt is this oh a. calendar you really needed a calendar an.
you have a phone right here it's an. advent calendar I don't know what that. means but you have a phone you can. probably import whatever Advent is. what's Advent it's Advent calendars is. like where you open one of the little. boxes every day oh good death it's for. my my niece your niece you have. that Socks mobile coffee cups dude just. have a Tumblr I'm a lot of that stuff. was for Universal so like the cof coffee. cups in the hotel rooms are really small. spending stupid you're spending stupid. you you don't understand the value of a.
dollar we've already determined that. your spending is ridiculous student. loans. 5.2% it's not the rate I would like I do. have those on auto pay so I get 0.25%. off is only this the. 2,259 that's the last. one the last one I had two others. they're what happen why are you. prioritizing those over a 10,000 hour. 30% credit card those were um the other. ones were sub subsid unsubsidized maybe. yeah but they weren't competing with the.
credit card in terms of interest rate oh. I just priorities are weird I paid off. the ones that were G getting interest. while I was in school I get that but you. have a credit card yeah I your. priorities are whack so that that one is. go through our debt class please that. one is my last one and it's the one that. are you aggressively paying this off um. I put $100 a month to it what what's the. minimum monthly oh like 52 why would you. put $100 towards this when you have a. this interest is a 5% you have a credit.
card that's over. 20% yeah that's not again that's against. Dave Ramsey's thing is no no that's not. even that's not even finan NOP cuz. that's Dave Ramsey actually would have. you pay this off quicker but that's. stupid simply put a. 20% yes but it's like Beyond lower you. know if it was in the same world that's. different but this it also federal. student loans have a lot more. protections if things were to get wrong. I want you to get rid of this scary debt.
that does not have those kind of. protections but I have confidence too. that I can do it right and stick to it. my question would. be what confidence I have no confidence. looking at this why do you have. confidence your debt has done nothing. but go- up in these statements you're. spending this out of control you do. stupid things like the Taylor Swift crap. which is end ly monthly for you and. stupid multi thousand uh vacations.
because you felt like you owed them. immediately like you didn't have a. lifetime to do that so what confidence. because I honestly don't have it and I. would love you to convince me that there. is so that I can have some kind of. redemption in this story but right now. nothing in here suggests any kind of. confidence I want I want the the life I. want the the happiness and the spouse. the kids more than more than. Universal I mean it's going to sound. stupid to say yes because I it doesn't.
sound stupid that sounds reasonable I. don't believe you my actions have said. differently but I want to make the. change like I want to do it I think I. can do it just I gosh I I I want to I. want to you're going to need something. more than that cuz want you can want. multiple things but you still prioritize. things and so far you're prioritizing. promis to do the debt class that means. nothing to me I mean and the budgeting. class we've all had promises okay we can.
follow up again in three six months we. will on the follow-up Channel I mean you. better believe it and I better not be. disappointed but gosh I would have a. little bit of semblance. of. Hope if in the statements there was a. sign of progress because what I feel a. lot of people do because they get put in. the hot seat and I know you are on are. actually to change things but a lot of. people that get put on the hot seat and. then I will change I will change I will.
change cuz you don't want to look bad. and no no no no wonder and you don't. want to look like you're walking away. with this with nothing I get it but the. fact is if you actually are fully. committed to wanting to change that must. have literally just happened. today not yesterday because your. statements are not reflecting an inkling. of change if there was one thing in here. that suggested potential change. just one I would have more hope but. there is not one thing so it's very hard.
for me to believe I go in phases so. that's even worse though because that's. yo-yoing and you can't yoyo your. finances you can't yoyo your finances. though or else you're going to end up. right back here forever right I want to. like the consistency thing is what I. need to work on I need like I need to. work on just staying consistent do you. make a budget no there's. fing Point number one for consistency if. you know where your money is going where.
it went what you need to do to fix it in. order to hit the goals you want to get. that keeps you consistent if you don't. do the basic minimum requirement you're. never going to be. consistent yeah and I and I will make. the budget and that's that yes but will. you manage it on a monthly basis it's. not a make onetime thing I want to a. budget's for I want I all right we have. money in our checking account we're Zing. out some money okay that's rent I zel. rent can you Zell me some happiness. right now please thank you didn't work.
sorry I tried why hits your account on a. monthly basis. income uh. 4400 I had 55 guaranteed and then I get. my commissions on top of that I'm going. to do 5,000 cool that seems reasonable. if more happens we know where to put it. we've already been through this. uhhuh okay I promise your rent for now.
how much 1100 it'll probably get. yourself another $1,100 Place yeah. cheaper if you can I know it's an it's. not a cheap City but you could do that. what about utilities uh right now I pay. for water and streaming and that's uh. about canc streaming your utility. payments is going to be about 250 okay. and including internet or everything. that's where you're going to be gas. vroom vroom drive drive $40 a week so. 160 160 car insurance um that is 203 for.
car insurance renters insurance and. valuable personal property it's all. bundled together okay you're getting. like $400 health. insurance bottom of the barrel just to. start with literally covering the most. crazy thing like if you were to be in an. emergency. like broken leg. yes like just the worst of the worst TP. fund 100 bucks anything else to survive.
necessary food $300 we have a meal plan. that you can follow in the budgeting. program you can tweak it to your needs. what about your phone bill uh $70 I pay. my. mom okay it's. not okay do you have any pets I do not. good nor should you that' be IR. responsible okay your minimum monthy. debts let's get this credit card's. stupid 311 Jim no you have a home gym we.
have home gym subscriptions are canc an. apartment subscriptions are cancelled. anything else anything medical other. than what you already have. well. but that's. 300 and I I like like I kind of like it. I I. feel I'm not opposed to it I feel like. once you get health insurance I go see a. doc and I get it prescribed and see well. I mean no you got an isine prescription.
it's still 300 and your health insurance. the with the health insurance you're. likely going to get it's not going to. make it much cheaper okay I'll put 300. in there let's just see how it all adds. up. okay I these conversations right here. this is where it pisses me off even more. even with that dude you have an extra. $1,800 left on a monthly basis this is. literally your choice right now your.
choice you are making this Choice wow. you can get out of debt so easily. compared to so many people that are. coming on the show they have to. sacrifice and go so hard and you were. choosing not to because you're being a. child because I didn't think about it. this is so easy dude are you kidding me. credit card number one Chase destroyed. in a month Bank of America destroyed in. five months if even uh student loans. minimum monthly payment until they're. paid off because we're going to focus on.
different things so 6 months you're bad. debt free and then you're going to save. up what is. likely. uh going to call it. about $15,000 emergency fund we can. probably do that in at that point with. the minimum to payment everything that's. left do that in about seven months so. we're talking a year and one month you. have fully funded emergency fund no bad. debt 32 starting your life great you're. going to start contributing 20% to.
retirement you can live on 50% of your. income then you can still spend 30% on. fund and that savings you know take 10%. for fun start putting a car thing aside. your car should be able to last another. year go ahead and do maintenance on it. put that in the T TP. fund I'm sorry this is this is a. joke you have the ability to do this so. much easier than our almost most Mo the. vast majority that come on the show. you've just chosen not to and that I.
that's going to make it hard to have. sympathy cuz you are just beyond. choosing this none of this is being. forced upon you you have such an easy. thing easy thing to get out of this. spending in a budget technically you're. under your budget it should have gone. towards the debt your debt only went up. but I can't give you any better than a. two out of 10 your debt the credit card. debt is stupid for your situation terms. of the entire total amount of debt we're. talking about a three out of 10 there. emergency fund no you don't have an. emergency fund you have some set aside.
that is going to go to your apartment. it's all in your checking accounts all. together this is not doing very well I'm. going to give you three out of 10 there. as well retirement just getting started. one out of 10 real estate not a part of. the conversation Z out of. 10 the crazy thing is again this isn't. even a bad score this is just your. choice that you're in I mean it's a bad. score it's not going to be a four out of. 10 it's going to be a two out of 10 but. that's even better than a lot of people. that come on the show you're choosing. this and that upsets me more than people.
that are in a situation that they that. they can't control by a lot this upsets. me we have other stuff we're going to. talk about in the post show and we have. over we have something like 10,000 hours. of extra content in our YouTube. membership please consider joining that. join Hammer Elite for the best value of. your dollar help support this channel. now join us in the post show where. things the drama and extra tea and. things we can't talk about and all that. stuff is revealed see you there you said. you know more about their like weirdness. of their relationship they all got in a. fight last week and you threw a fork at.
