Bad Finances? Just Start A Movement! | Financial Audit
Uh, my name's Paul. I'm 27, about to be. 28. I'm based in Florida, Cape Coral, and this is Financial Audit. Okay. Well, hmm. All right. This is a. follow-up. You don't need to watch the. first episode to This is just going to. be like any other audit. It's linked in. the description below, but you were. That's a big move. Wait, didn't you go. from Florida to Minnesota? And then. Minnesota to Florida. But you're in. Florida now. Why are you in Florida? I'm. back. I'm back. Um Well, yeah. Yeah, it. was a lot happened. So, honestly, I.
mean, it could take like 3 hours for us. to catch up, but I haven't looked. through anything cuz follow-ups I don't. look through anything. I I don't want to. I don't want to know anything. Got you. I want it to be a surprise. Okay. You. better have improved, man. We all liked. you. Everyone liked you. The comments. liked you. But you did some dumb. I know. Some stuff I've never seen I. haven't seen since. It was quite interesting. Now, it came. from a good heart, and I like that. Right. But you were you were like, I. have a car debt for this car that I. don't even use. I have a car debt for my.
car. I got a car debt for my sister's. car. Mhm. That was the big one. And we. agreed that she would take it over. You. would make her take it over. But then. there was also weird situations of. collections and overdrafts on this, overdrafts on this, overdrafts on that. And. then. you're living with your sister, but her. roommate potentially was coming back, which would have prevent Is that why you. moved back? Yeah. Basically. When did you move back? Uh, July of this.
year. You were not in Minnesota for very long. No, not at all. From November of 2022. to July 23. Just tell me. Have it Has. this improved? Has it not? Yes. At least I think it has. Uh, you So, you landed a pretty decent. Yeah. one. You'll You'll see what I mean by that. I. mean. Please, man. I won't Okay. I hope Hope. doing better, man. I really do. Yeah, I. just I personally need you to be doing. well cuz I really like it. And then our. dogs played afterwards. That was nice.
It was nice. Yes, I want you okay. Give yourself a score zero to 10. Financial score. Zero. Still. Is that an improvement? Well, I mean I'm. being honest. But still stuck in the gutter. You said. you improved. Well, yeah, but like I mean I'm stuck in. the gutter still. So it's fine. a plan though. Right. But it's not like. it's you know, it's not like it's um. it's not like I went from whatever you. gave me last time to like a nine or.
eight No, no, no. You wouldn't be at a. nine or an eight. I would hope maybe a. two or three. But you did not change and. it's been almost What has it been? It's been improved, but it's not like. drastically, you know. Why though? I. gave you a solid concrete plan. If you. did your. I know. Okay. I'm not laughing, man. That actually. severely disappoints me. That sucks. This card Mhm. does not accrue any. interest. So this card gets paid off.
Yeah, I think it's already paid off. I. just paid it off last week. Yeah. I mean. this is this is good. I mean this is a good thing to look at. We spent 200 What's your What's your. current job actually? I'm a shift. manager. I think that's what the actual. position is called at a pizza shop. Okay, so we're still in food. Yeah. Yeah, cool. Um what are you making? Uh that one is uh I believe the salary. was like 52,000 a year or something like. that, but. That's pretty similar to what your last. one was. The actual take home is 839 a.
week. Uh that's pretty similar to your. last one. That was 50, right? Somewhere. around there, yeah. So $43,628. a year Sure. net. If that's the weekly. Yeah, 839. Divide. that by 12, so we're going to get an. average of. $3,635. a month. All right. Sure. I don't do math. I go by week now, so whatever I have. left. by week. No, I do now. I changed my.
whole like outlook. That doesn't make sense. You don't You. don't pay rent by week. No, I don't pay. rent by. a loan by week. You don't pay this by. week. it's like whatever I have this week and. then whatever I didn't spend, I'll put. on to the next week and then. You are going through our budgeting. program immediately. Okay. First of all, you're a past guest, so we already sent. it to you. Did you get it? Did you take. it? The what? The budgeting program. Did you. take it? No. Why? A lot happened. I have It's I have. to catch up with you. A lot happened. I just completely like I need you to. take that immediately. Take your life.
seriously. I am. It's just a lot like. Go through it. It's only a few hours. Just quizzes, test your knowledge, build. out the budget with us. Okay. Uber Eats? Uber Eats? You're starting. with the Uber Eats? And donuts? Carrabba's? Miller Ale House? Interest has been a charge this year and. same with uh fees. Normally I wouldn't actually just be so. upset, man, but legitimately I wanted.
you to do so good. You have no idea. I'll get there, Caleb. I'll get there. You should have been making. Just give me time, man. What do you Why. do you need extra time? Why do you need. babying? I don't want to say babying. It's just I. don't know. It's like I'm not going to. land. my debt off within a year, you know? It's going to take time, so. Oh, no. I'm not saying that necessarily, but it's just like We need the full. picture. We need the full picture before. I get up Yeah. What the. 288 dollars of fees on Verve?
For what? This year so far, 288 dollars. That means missed payments. Oh, probably. I don't know. I don't know. what the fees are. They're probably late. fees, honestly. 10 dollar fee? 10 dollar fee? This this this past month. 58 dollars 68 cents. 81 dollars of is here so far. What did. we purchase? What did we possibly. purchase? What did we purchase? Publics? Publics? Oh, yeah. Publics. Grocery? We. can't do that in a checking account? Uh.
I could and I can, yeah. But I just use. the card. Okay. Card one, the most evil of all cards. to get rid of that card. You need to get. rid of all these cards. That's not an. option. How are they not closed? How are. they not How are they not closed? How. are they not closed? Why haven't you. closed them? You know you're not a. credit card person. How have you not. closed them? Close your accounts. I. don't know. I just keep them open. What's that? Close them. Why? Isn't it bad to close it? You lose your. cuz credit history and stuff, right? You. are not taking advantage OF CREDIT.
CREDIT IS TAKING advantage of you. What's the possible point? What What. kind What credit are you taking. advantage of? Whatever I have. It's. bending you over. You are not taking. advantage of it. I wouldn't say that. Like I'm I'm I think I'm good. seen those fees? Have you seen those. fees? Did we just talk about those fees? are about, but yeah. The If you don't. even know If you don't even know you're. not a credit card person. So then we. close them. I don't want to be mean. I'm. not trying to be rude. I know I'm I am. coming across hard. And that's cuz I'm. severely disappointed right now, but.
Okay. Okay. Yeah, cuz guess what? $8.25 of. fees on this one. Woo. What are we. doing? Uh Steak 'n Shake. That's my first job, by the way. Nice. Cape Coral something. Okay. Uh potential taquitos. Definitely. taquitos on the next one. Great. $171 of fees is here so far. So across. the board on all the fees, like what are. we? $500? $33 of interest is here so far. on this card.
So this is one of the cars. It is Wells. Fargo auto. Yeah. What car is this? That's the Outlander. Who owns the Outlander? Who Who the. Outlander? Me. Okay, so is your daily? Yeah. Okay. Total owed on this is. That's right. It's a Okay, so 8.39% not. great. Not great. The current payoff is 25,836. So, it's half your income.
With a minimum monthly payment. of. $587.86. Okay. So, that's the Outlander. Yeah. Then, that should be the Evo. Who on Who drives the Evo? Right? Is. that a loan or is that the my check? This is Bank of America. This is a loan. Yeah, that's the Evo. at 8.7%. Yeah, that's the Evo. Evo? Yeah. Who drives the Evo? Uh it's in storage still. So, this is. one that was not working? Or like. there's a popper? engine. Oh, that's right.

monthly minimum. buddy. This is This is No, I see why you gave. yourself a zero. So far, I was like, okay, you're spending money, that's a. little upsetting, but it's like, okay. And there was interest and fees, but in. general, we were paying off some cards. I was like, okay. So, is this going to. be like the. Maybe there was improvement. Like, why. did you give yourself a zero? Why do I. already feel like I'm dying? Well, here's why I feel like I'm dying. I I. don't know why you're laughing. This. pisses me off. honest, you know. $1,063.
past due. Past due. It's a lot better than it was when I. first came. Dude, that's not an option. I know, but I'm saying, the past due was. like $3,000. We wouldn't be past due if. you followed what I said. If you actually listened. You think I. just sit here? Do you Do you think I. just sit here? You think we just turn on. the cameras? We sit here. I'm just like. doing this thing just just. as a gimmick? Isn't it a gimmick? You're. an actual person who deserves to do. better in life. And I actually gave you. a plan to do better in your life. Right.
And you come back and you're in past due. $1,036. At least it's less than what it was past. due. This is not a joke to me, dude. It's not a joke. I'm just saying, like, I've improved. That's what I meant by. improve. I didn't. Being past due is unacceptable at this. point. Unacceptable. We talked about how. So, the car that's not even. drivable is more than the daily driver. in terms of the $28,412. balance that's owed. Yeah. What's the.
normal minimum monthly payment? Cuz I. don't even know. It doesn't even show on. here. I believe it's $799. It's like $800. a month, even though it's only a dollar. more than the minimum. No, you don't. No, you don't. You have. late fees. What do you mean $800 a. month? What do you. when I can. What? Was that the end of the debt? Uh. uh You have no more debt? Well, you have. the Wells Fargo, the Bank of America. Evo, Outlander. The Credit One, Capital. One. But there there aren't balances You've.
paid those balances off. So, the debts. that have are the Evo and Outlander. No. other debt? Right. Yes. Yes. You got rid of the sister's? Yeah. Dude. Yes. How'd that go? Tell me. a little bit. No, that's great. That's. so good. That is an absolute I feel. that. I feel that just like a little. lifting off my chest. Okay, yes. Give us the rundown. Give us. the rundown. it was not an easy conversation. Um but. basically, you know, she kind of. understood what I was going through, so. Um my mom is actually helping her pay it.
off, so it's not her paying it off. So, at least someone's helping me. But it's. not on your hands. Right. Um the only thing I have to. really worry about is insurance for my. car and then the two loans and that's. it. How'd that conversation go though? I. don't know. Honestly, I don't remember. how it went. All I know is that they. understood the assignment and they just. went with it, so. It was because I mean they they. hopefully understood that you were. basically drowning. Like you could not. afford Like okay. Yeah. So, they. accepted it pretty quick? Yeah.
So, I'm glad they're helping me out. Otherwise, I would have another what? 21,000? Yes. And still a lot because right now we. have more car debt than we do on an than. an annual income. And one of them's inoperable. Well, I have another job. I don't know. if you put that down. Oh. The Oh. What's. your other job? I work at Denny's. overnight. Okay. How much are you making there. usually? 18 an hour. Okay. What do you bring in on a week? Usually? On a week? I get paid. bi-weekly, so I mean I would Well, you. said you go off of a week, so I I know.
my budgeting is off of a week, but not. my What do you bring home a month What's. your per paycheck with that job? Typically? Somewhere around six to 700 a week. So. A week? Yeah. A week? A week. My bi-weekly is about 1,200 1,200. So, split that into two is 600 ish. So. Depending on hours again. It's not a. salary, it's an hourly. So, 6,000.
35 comes home in total on a monthly. basis. Sure. You need to go through a. bunch of things. You should know that. 983 in our. in our checking account. Good. Much. better than last time. Yeah, thanks. Much better. Thanks. Why am I not seeing extra payments go. towards any of these debts so it's this. time? Well, again, why are we missing. payments on one? And then So, we got rid. of one of your car debts. Mhm.
Incredible. That's a huge weight off. your chest. And we got rid of some of. the car debt. So, now really the only. debt you have to pay 587 for the. Outlander, 799. We have net $6,000 a. month. There is no excuse for being. behind. Why are you one behind. and two, why are we not making extra. payments on top of that? Uh all this net income that I just am. now getting started like a month ago, so. What was happening before then between. the last episode and before then? Uh well, a lot happened. Okay, give us a. rundown, fine. Oh god. All right, so.
last time I was here we went through. what? Getting a job offer at Rosalia for. sous chef, right? So, I took that position in March. Um I was still working at Denny's and. that job. And then. uh god, there's so much that happened. Well, I'm trying to remember. Yeah, bullet points. So, basically. I got my car stolen. I think I told you. about that, right? That was before. And then I got in the. accident, that happened. And then.
my car got impounded cuz I didn't know. what the Minnesota parking laws, whatever restrictions were. So, I had to. pay an impound fee and I had to get It. was just a bunch of extra that I had to. spend money on that I wasn't planning. on. Um. and then. I had a mental breakdown at work. Jesus. It's a long story. Um, and then I quit Rosalia in Oh, no. June. Because of the breakdown? Yeah, there. was a bunch of stuff going down. Um,
June and then I went back to the hotel. job and then I left Minnesota finally in. like July, August. I don't remember the. exact date. Are you okay now? Mental. breakdown? Yeah, I learned how to. you know, I learned how to. Yeah, I guess that's the right word, right? Coping mechanisms? Yeah, kind of. No. I mean, not. necessarily coping. I mean, I mean, I guess it is coping. It's not. like I'm going to therapy or anything, but like. I learned how to take what was given to. me and then change it, convert it, uh,
whatever you want to call it. I don't. know how to. I don't know how to explain it to you. Okay. I wouldn't say coping though. I. guess technically that would be coping. Well, coping mechanisms are what I've. learned in therapy for my anxiety. So, I. mean, that's kind of natural. Well, I'm saying like if I was like. really depressed or something, I'd. learned how to take it in and then let. go. Sure. So, it's not I mean, I guess. it is coping, yeah. Okay. I mean, whatever you want to call it. I just. want to make sure you're good now. Yeah, I'm okay. Okay. Um, you haven't. sought any help beyond that? No, I don't.
believe in therapy. Well, okay. Yeah. Weird. Why? Uh, just I don't know. I. think you can talk a lot of things out. without going to someone and paying. them, so. Why do you not believe in it? Just a waste of money. So, that's what. you think? Yeah. Okay. I mean, it also. just depends on the person. It doesn't. work for everyone. Some people it does. I know, that's what I'm saying, yeah. Um. That's why I said I found out how to do. it my way, like letting it go. As long as you're good, man. That's all. that matters in the end. Doesn't make sense. What doesn't make.
sense? I'm seeing where some of your. money's going, man. Um There's no excuse. for. missing payments. Yeah. Okay, you just started your job but with. where your some of your money's going, there's It's all coming. It's all and. I'm not like spending on whatever. anymore. It's all just What do you mean? This is right here. Waffle House, McDonald's. I meant like like bigger McDonald's, Craigslist, and Dango.
Bell Tower, Bell Tower. So, what do you mean? Don't me don't. lie. Don't come to the table and lie. We. don't do that. I thought we learned that. lesson last time. I'm not lying. I mean like bigger. charges like I just had to pay the. impound and then again the impound again. to get my car out. But why? Why are we. missing payments if we're going out? ATM. withdrawal, $110. Where did that go? We. don't know. McDonald's, we know where that went, in. your stomach. Lots of things in.
in the town that I can't tell what it. is. It's just like Cape Coral, Cape. Coral. Hey, Cash App, Denny's. Denny's is. supposed to give you money. Yeah. Well, sometimes I eat there. I. mean They don't have like a meal for. working a shift? No, I mean when I'm not working I go. there with my buddies. on. Stay away. You don't want to be. there, do you? It's not that big of a. deal. No, no, no. When you're not. working. Also, just don't spend money. How about. that? Right. Z Sounds. That was my last payment. So, there's no.
more Z Sounds. It was financed? Yeah, it. was a guitar I bought. Hey, at least it's over. You did it after our show, didn't you? No, it was before our show. Oh, it was after? Yeah. Cash App out. $300, Cash App out $53. That's for the. storage fee on the Evo. And you go to. Publix every second of your life. Why. are you there so much? Um so, my my. pizza shop is right on a Publix Plaza. and sometimes I run out of stuff, so I. just go over there real quick.
You must run out of stuff every day cuz. you're there every day. Well, some of it is like I'm. experimenting with recipes, so I'll just. buy some Oh, man, I want to be so. supportive of that. You have no idea. I. want to be so supportive of that. But, we're late on one of our two cars. I'm not sure I can be supportive of. that. It's not like I'm doing it every week. It's just a What do you mean? Again, you're there basically every day, every. other day. Well, it's not every day that. I'm going to experiment. It's just some. Some days I'm going to buy products, some days I'm going for whatever reason.
That's the hard part. I can Yeah, I can't I There's no. receipts. I I can't see what people are. spending at the grocery store. So, this. is It's really hard. You never know. But, all the McDonald's, man. Come on. So. Eating out, $400. Half That's the half the Evo. I could. have gone there. Large purchases, there's the guitar that. we financed and the. um Z's Yeah, ATM withdrawal and selling.
money out, $1,057. Taquitos, miscellaneous bull $132. We've easily made up for being able to. pay the $800. Fun fact, fun fact, fun. fact. And yeah, you actually don't spend. too much at the grocery store. You just. go there a lot. Yeah. I guess I mean, I don't know if I should. tell you, but. Tell me. If there's anyone to tell, it's. me. So, I'm starting a movement.
This is not like me going crazy like a. cult or conspiracy or anything. Um. Yeah, I can already tell by the look on. your face. Um it's between It's It happened because. of the breakdown in Roselia, the job. that I was at. Can you tell us about the. breakdown? Okay, so At least you know, for context. So, I'm generally at least I like to. think of it, you know, generally I'm a. nice person. I'm pretty honest. Yeah. I'm not like a creep or anything.
No, you seem pleasant. I mean, I'm weird. in some ways like I like K-pop, you. know. Some people might think. freak. Right. Well, anyways, well, So, I was working at Rosalie as a sous. chef and there were these couple. complaints about me. Um one was uh. From co-workers? Yeah. Um one was about me trying to find out. where this girl lived. I guess she uh felt uncomfortable with. me talking to her even though I. literally asked her like and asked her.
like what her address was. I was like it was um. No. Oh, you didn't. It was a conversation we were having and. she's like, "Yeah, I moved out of my. apartment." And I was like, "Oh, nice. Where do you live now?" It was like that. kind of thing. It wasn't like I'm trying. to stalk or anything. I work at Denny's. and Rosalie. I don't have time to. you know, be on that But anyways, there was that complaint. of the story, but yeah. Yeah, there's. that complaint and then there was. another complaint. about me saying inappropriate stuff to a. server. What did you say? I was asked about. anime thighs cuz I've I'm into anime as.
well. Um. Why are you talking about them them. thick juicy thighs? So, she was talking about dieting and I. was like I was trying to be supportive, you know, being like. you know, I guess try not to eat too. much, try to stay away from. like uh what's it called? Gluten heavy stuff, anything that has. really heavy carbs in it cuz it'll. thicken your thighs. Like that's. literally what I said. And um that was. one complaint and the other complaint. and then the other complaint was the way.
it was mentioned the way it was set up. to me was that. I was behind a server or no, the server. was behind me. I was here. and then. I went up to her and smelled her and. told her that she smells nice. Why did you smell her? I didn't smell. her. That's just the way the compliment. the comment the complaints came. it start getting weird when there's. multiple complaints? That's what I started thinking like they. just wanted me out for like whatever. Well, that's not what I was thinking. I. was thinking like if there's multiple,
do we fully just. like I don't know. We're hearing one. side, right? Right. But when there's so. many, it's just like you start getting a. little. Yeah, that's why I was like what the. going on? So I just like am I. really like a creep or like I don't. know. I just started like re-evaluating. myself like. cuz that the complaint was I literally. went up to her and smelled her and I. never did that like Why didn't you tell. me I smell good? I'm wearing nice. cologne. I can't smell you from here. That's a shame. Maybe I'll do it later. off camera, but you know.
Um anyways. uh but yeah, those were the complaints. and then I just started having a. breakdown cuz like. I don't know. I feel like people were. just trying to get me out, targeting me. you like throw a fit? Did you like yell. and scream? a Capricorn, so I keep things inside. I. don't believe in astrology, but that's. what everyone says. No. Like oh, you're. a Capricorn. You like to keep things. inside. No, I was. But yeah, I learned how to like, you. know, keep it inside, but it came up to. be too much one time and I just had a. breakdown at work. What does that mean? Did you blow up? It was me crying.
Okay. Outside. Yeah, I had to take like. a 5-minute break and I talked to my. executive chef and he was like, you. know, understand. I understand that it makes you feel like. you're being targeted. He literally even. said like he's on my side, so. um but yeah. And you quit? not a fun time. Yeah, so I just quit cuz. I don't want to deal with drama. I don't. have time for babies like that. But. yeah. And then I went back to the hotel. and then. You were living at a hotel? No, the job. I was working at. Oh, yeah, yeah. Okay. And then. um.
right around July. my ex chef that I used to work with uh. he called me up giving me the job. opportunity of the pizza place. Yeah. And he was also telling me that. he would let me live at his residence, so rent-free, so I took it. That's where. you are right now? Yeah. Well, that's. good and adds more confusion why 6305 is. coming in and we're behind on a car. payment, but continue. Yeah, so So I'm. living with my boss rent-free.
But I am I am taking up a big. responsibility of the pizza shop, so. What the You you give the context of. that whole story cuz you're starting a. movement. That's I was trying to get. context of that. What's your movement? I drifted off on that. Um I don't. necessarily have it like. formed, formulated. So I don't really want to really tell. you too much about it, but I just want. to. on about? It's just I don't have I just. need. I'm going to steal it? No, I just need more time to get my. thoughts and everything compact.
together. What are you going to do with it? Uh Is it a career path? I I No, it's. like a It's not a religious thing, but. it's like a. I guess. a global awakening is what I like to. call it. I don't know. Can I awaken you. to like actually just make your payments. on time? Yes, I'd love that. I think. that's a. movement you should follow. A movement. towards getting your life like together. But you're giving up the best decade of. your life in compound growth. I really.
don't care about money, Caleb. I don't. know if you noticed that. It's not a It's not about caring about. money. It's. you I know you want me to have the best. time of my life, but you're talking. about like compound growth. no, it's not even about that. retirement. I know I know you're You. don't You don't care about retirement? No, I don't. What do you mean? What if. you're going to What if you're like 90. and you're dying? I mean by like my movement cuz it. completely changes your mindset on. things. Um. well, basically. movement sounds stupid then. Yeah, I know. I figured. Well, okay. I'm sorry. That was very. dismissive. But it's it's more like I.
mean, if your movement's against basic. reality within the economic structure. that we are forced to live in. reality. Yeah. Then tell me. Then tell. me. You can't just make a vague argument. Oh, no, this thing is reality and then. just not say anything. Come on. I have. like all these ideas for it, but I don't. have it tied together. Like It's just. going to look like a mess. Like if I. just started talking to you about it, would look like a mess, you know? What what concerns me and why I kind of. want to know this. is cuz your mindset is clearly in a.
different place and I want to try to get. some perspective. of where it is and see if I can relate. it back to the real world somehow. and just convince you that. you need to take responsibility in this. life. I don't give a. I don't give. if you don't care about money, but there. is basic responsibilities you need to do. to take care of yourself so that you're. not dying in poverty. Right. The reality of the economic structure. that you are forced to live in unless. you move, which totally fine, go for it.
But unless you are, this is the reality. and it's irresponsible for me to sit on. this side of the table and say, "I wish. I wish I wish." No, here's the reality, here's how to operate in it. Right. In that system, whatever. potential belief you have as far as I'm. understanding is ending you in a place. where you're if social security even. exists, only living off of that, but. you're probably dying on the Walmart. floor. I guess that would be the end outcome, right? If I don't have retirement, just. be working. that acceptable to you. when you can just be a responsible big. boy?
How do I say this? So, it's a very. American thing. I notice and more and actually it's more. modernish now than it was old school. So, three generational households, those. are very common in not in traditional. countries like Mexico, Asia, even like. stuff like that. So, I noticed a lot of. American stuff, like more modern stuff. is all like about me, me, me, me. Like I. want to be self-sufficient. I just want you to just. individual. It's more of an individual's.
mindset. Sure. So, the way I think of it. as retirement is like, yeah, it's nice. to have money saved up in case whatever. happens. It's not a nice to have in our culture. You need it or you die in poverty. Yeah, because America's on capitalism. That's why you need it. I said this isn't I wish I wish I wish. You are in the system. that's what I'm saying. Yeah, but being a responsible big boy. adult isn't saying I wish I wish the. United States was different. That's not. how reality works.
wish the United States was different. That's basically what you just said. No, I'm telling you that the United. States is different than the rest of the. world. Right. Are you going to live in. the rest of the world or you going to. live in the United States? In the United States. Okay, so you. should probably do what's required for. you to survive in the United States, correct? Right. Well, then why don't. you? I am trying to. No, you're not. You. just said you don't give a about. retirement. You don't give a about. anything. No, but I want to get my debts off. What. is that if retirement doesn't matter, why does the debt even matter? Why even. get rid of that? money that I owe to people. Okay, so you feel moral responsibility.
behind that. Okay, are you ever going to. have kids? I would like to, but I'm I'm. pretty much going to There you go. What. about the moral responsibility of not. having them feel morally obligated to. take care of you in retirement because. you were never a big boy and never took. care of yourself and set yourself up by. sacrificing a little now so that you can. have a relatively successful future. What about that moral responsibility? The 18 years you grow up before your. parents throw out should satisfy that. enough for you to take care of your own. parents. Huh? I'm not talking about you. I'm just. saying. their choice to be brought in this.
world. that's what I'm saying. So you take care. of them until they were born enough and. strong enough to be independent. Yeah. So why would your mindset change from, you know, my parents, I'm not going to. take care of them. No, no, no. That's. not being financially responsible. know. you. It's not that, man. It's the fact that you're putting them. in the position where they're forced to. No, they're not. Yes, they are. Yes, they are. Regardless of whatever. financial situation I ever might be in, I love my parents. If they're in a.
situation where they can't retire, I'm. putting certain things on hold. I am not. allowing them to die on the street. That. is not an option. Exactly, but you are forcing that on a. potential kid. You are forcing that. because they're not going to let you CUZ. THEY'RE NOT GOING TO LET YOU DIE. THEY'RE NOT GOING TO LET YOU die in. poverty. So, they might have. I'm going to like go. So, they might have to put off college. They might have to put off. moving for a career. They might have to. put off building their own family. because their parent never set aside a.
little bit of sacrifice to set. themselves up. So, now they have to take. from their lives to make sure you do not. die on the street. Dude, I'm 27. You're talking about like. when I'm 70 years old. We're talking about responsibility. Yes, we're talking about 70. How do you. retire in your 70s? By taking care of it. now. By taking care of it now. This. isn't You don't retire by taking care of. it at 69. Right. Right. So, you agree? Yes. Then why won't you? What do you mean? Oh my gosh. Are you.
not following? trying to. No, you're not. You just said you don't. care about retirement. You said you only. care about. care about having it as retirement as. like the sole purpose of being. self-sufficient. Is 20% called. sole purpose? You put 20% in my plan towards. retirement. Is that sole purpose? There's 80% left. How is 20% even come. close to being considered sole purpose? Where are you getting 80 and 20%? If I say you're setting aside 20% for. retirement, how is that considered in.
any possible form the sole purpose of. your life? It's 20%. Right. Such an insignificant percentage. compared to the entire pie. Right. Right. So, what's the I don't understand the. point. You just said you don't agree with the. entire your entire. Uh what was the exact words you used? Essentially, your entire life being. focused around money. I never said that. I literally have always said 50 30 20. 50% on needs, 30% on wants, 20% the.
smallest percentage going towards. retirement. That's not your whole life. Right. How do you keep saying right? Do. you agree? Do you disagree? Then why are you not doing it? Oh my. god. I don't know how to explain it. I. don't Like I said, I don't have the the. thoughts and opinions formulated yet. But it's fine. But if you don't have an. opinion or a thought on it, why not just. go based on reality? just I don't. Um You know, it's also okay and a very. mature thing to do when realize we're. potentially wrong on things to accept, "Okay, I'm wrong. Let me uh believe in.
the thing that is correct." So, in this. case, the correct thing uh it's. objectively it's objectively in our. society correct that you need retirement. to survive. Right. But there's a reason for that. There is, but we don't live in the wish-wish land. We live in the you need to do it land. is why I'm starting a movement. Right. don't have it. It's like a draft, basically. So, right now it's in like a. I get it. I get it. So, instead of. saving for retirement, we're starting a. movement so that no one would ever need. to save for retirement again, and that's.
your That's your That's your retirement. plan. of it. It's just. That's your retirement plan is starting. a movement and convincing the entire. society that people don't need to have. money to save that for retirement. plan. Okay. I'm okay with dying at 50 years old, 40. years old, whatever the it is. Well, you said you want to have kids. I. do. That doesn't mean I'm going to have. kids. There's goals that I have. It. doesn't mean I'm going to complete them. or accomplish them. I'm just trying to. associate it with You said you have to. pay debt back. Right, which is what I'm. doing. Because you're more you feel more. responsible to. You said kids are on.
your docket of something you want to do. I wish I could have kids. I want to have. kids. You can have kids, man. You can have. kids. I don't care. a partner first. No, not necessarily. You can adopt. I don't have time right now to. Well, I'm not saying that. I'm not. saying that. I'm just saying the basic. point is. I know what you're saying. I'm just. saying there's a lot of factors that go. into that. What am I saying? Huh? What am I saying? You You're trying to explain to me that. reason, you know, why I should be. financially responsible if I want to. have kids, right?
Cuz you don't You don't want me to. necessarily to be on the Walmart floor. dying working. So you want me to have. retirement. You want me to be. financially responsible so I don't do. stupid like this when I have kids. If you're morally responsible to have. college It's not just that. If you're. morally responsible at the basic level, if you're morally responsible to paying. off your debt cuz you borrowed it, are. you not morally responsible for the. potential kids you would have? Yeah. Financially speaking. Yes. Then you. would start taking care of that. Now if. it's actually in your plans, whether or. not the kid is popping out tomorrow or.
not is different. Right. No, you're not you're not setting. I'm trying. You're bringing $6,000 and. you're behind on a car. That is not. trying. That's you. around. It's all current now. The only. thing I have is I'm behind on the Evo. That's it. That's what I just said. Right. But it's. all it's all current. There's no reason to be behind on the. Evo. You have no rent. You have no. bills. I know. Except for the two debts and gas and car. insurance. Guys, it's a new year and you. need to make your money work for you. You can do exactly what I literally do.
right now and put my money in the best. high yield savings account, SoFi. I get. a 4.6% yield on my money and I also took. advantage of the bonus of up to $250. when I signed up. You can start 2024 off. amazing by doing the same by going to. the link in the description below. Right. And phone. My phone's only like. 113 a month. Yeah, but let's have a. reason why you've missed like a. All right. Did I tell you about the. $2,000 that I had to pay for an impound.
to get my car out from Minnesota? Uh you. didn't say the dollar amount, but. Okay. So the impound stuff It sucks. Yeah, it sucks, dude. They wanted my. license cuz I had a license but it was. suspended for whatever reason. I think. it was actually for financial. responsibility, which makes sense. So they canceled my Florida license and. I tried getting my car out of impound in. Minnesota, but they wouldn't release it. to me cuz they wanted a valid proof of. registration. Cuz you parked somewhere. bad?
I parked like on the off side of the. street. I guess they were doing like a. snow plow route or whatever. Um, but yeah. And then. Surprised it wasn't just a ticket. I. mean, I got a ticket in Michigan when. Yeah. It was crazy. The whole impound. just the impound was like 1,500, but. then I had to pay for all the stuff to. get my license redone and everything. The I had three sanctions on my license. which amounted to like 580 bucks, somewhere around there. So, it was a lot. of money wasted, a lot of time wasted,
but that was back in. August or July, whenever I moved down. here. And so So, what can I do, man? What can I do? I laid out a plan last. time. This is just a follow up episode. Huh? This is just a follow up episode. Yeah. Yeah, I'm doing okay, honestly. No. I'm doing better. A little. Yeah, so. You're not where you. should have been at this point. So, what can I do? What can I do that actually helps you? Cuz clearly last time did not work. Just.
keep rooting for me, I guess. I am. rooting for you, but that's not enough. Blind blind faith, blind hope isn't. enough. Well, I mean, there's not much. you can do. I mean, what would you do? I'm asking you to. could lay out a new budget for your new. situation. I guess, but I'm probably not going to. follow it. Just cuz I'm going on weekly now. So, like whatever I make this week and I. haven't spent, I'll put it on the debt. Like, I don't know. It's just. But, why not? Maybe.
be a little more mature. How? Budget. Like. someone. who knows how to budget. Like, let me. teach you. And then you actually do it instead of. I'm not going to do it, I'm going to do. my way. Your way Your way. makes you behind on an Evo payment. Does. your way look successful? No. Yeah, it'll get me there, but yeah. Not as successful as your way you would. budget. Why would you not want to be. more successful? Why would you not want. to get out of this quicker? I'm not a. hyper successful guy. I am trying to get.
out of it quick. I am trying to I don't. know what to do. I don't know what to. do. This is incredibly disappointing. This is so sad. I was so excited for you. and right now I'm like I honestly. Can I be real? It might It's going to sound hurtful. Go. ahead. I just see someone in front of me. that doesn't give a. doesn't give a. life, has no aspirations, is just. is I feel like man, I feel like you're. the This sucks. I hate that I'm saying. this.
But I'm just telling you where what I. see. You're just the person. that I see. later in life. in a run-down apartment cuz they never. took care of. and you're just living off. whatever potential benefits the. government has at that time cuz you. never had any aspirations. You never had. any care, never had any desire actually. take care of your sh-.
This is what I'm seeing based on this. conversation. I hope I'm wrong. Oh, yeah, I think you're wrong. Oh, please. I hope I'm wrong and I want you. to prove me wrong because that sounds. like a miserable life. I will. Just give me time. Honestly, that's all. I want is just time cuz I don't have it. right now. What do you mean? I'm working. 72 hours at the Denny's. That's great. You're making money. at. Denny's. No, that's where your time. should be. You don't need time of not. working. You're making money. This debt. Like if if we were just sitting here, if. we were just sitting here and with where.
we've gotten, uh we were making minimum monthly. payments on the Evo and we were just. paying more than the minimum on the. Outlander. If we still had those, totally reasonable. That's where we were. supposed to be at the end of the last. video. Right now you're just minimum on the. Outlander and Evo we're behind, which is. unacceptable. Yeah. Just one more. payment this month and it should be. current. Honestly, by the end of this month it. should be current. That's what I'm. saying. Say you have 4,500 left cuz your. living expenses are.
No, no, no, I'll say 3,500 left. A year and. a year and 3 months. A year and 3 months. this should be gone. I want you here a. year and 3 months and I want it gone and. I want you starting to save on a 6-month. emergency fund. Yes, sir. That I will. not. get here and you are behind if these are. not paid off, if you are behind on a payment, if your. credit card balance has gone up, I'm. going to lose my.
Please, man. I'll make you proud, Caleb. Please do because this has been one of. the most incredibly disappointing. experiences I've ever experienced in my. life. I know. I just went through a lot. That's what I'm trying to You have. You. have. You have. And the the the the What. happened at the work, the breakdown, the. ticket, that stuff I get. The $2,000, that I get. And that is okay. You're okay, man. You're okay. That. stuff is beyond reasonable to have a. hard time with.
Um. just where I struggle with is again just. where our income is and. uh being behind on a payment. That's all. That's what I'm upset about. I celebrated getting rid of the sister's. car. I celebrated paying off the credit. card debts. You have done progress. But you can do better. I know. You deserve it, man. You're a good guy. We all know you're a good guy. Again, our dogs hung out. I wish I could.
have brought the I wish you could have, too. I could have met the new pup. You deserve a good life, dude. Put in. the work. Please sacrifice. It's worth. it. I promise. I promise. I promise. Yeah, it kind of sucks. It feels like. I'm just working right now like a slave, so. You know what I mean? But Dude, I. worked my absolute. off when I was trying to get out of my. bad debt. And it is the most worth the thing I. ever did and that's one of the reasons. why I started this. Right. Man, you have no idea what it's like on the.
other side and I want you to experience. it. You deserve to experience it cuz. you're human on this earth. You deserve to experience it, but it. requires sacrifice now. It requires. having the proper mindset. And whether. that, you know, we talked about. different ways. You You think, you know, therapy is not best for you. That's. okay. But if as long as you're if we can get. you to the right mindset, the right work. ethic, the right sacrifice necessary, you can kick this. to the curb and you can live such an.
amazing life, man. But it's it's your. choice. Things will pop up. That job thing, that I'm very. sympathetic about, absolutely. I've had. I've had job situations that sucks. I've. been. I've been I was fired from my second. job. I've been I was fired from my. second job. Uh. I was working at a putt-putt course, a. putt-putt arcade. The reason I was fired was not exactly. given, but I know I wasn't being the. best worker at the time. Mhm. Uh. so, I can assess that. Um Yeah, I know.
It was weird for me recently. I was. doing good. Everyone liked me there. Yeah. It's just weird how it works. Life. is weird, man. So, will pop up. Just. like that the not the repo, the um the. towing and everything. Yeah, that kind of just came up. That'll. pop up, but I promise, man, if we get. you in the right mindset and you. actually budget in a mature way, stuff. popping up like that. is not going to make or break you. Yeah. It's not going to send you down a. spiral. You're going to be able to. weather it and you're going to come out. on the other side like a.
boss. Yeah. I know. It just takes time. Yes. It does. Cut that time. Cut that time by. Yeah. Cuz we should be further ahead right. now. Yeah. No more missed payments. Those fees, man, that $500 fee that got ticked on, that is not helping your progress. Capital One? Whatever the the the Evo. Oh. That That. fee, man, that is hurting your progress. You're getting destroyed with that. So,
it just really can't be an option in the. future. Mhm. Okay. Well, I obviously wish you the absolute best. I want you to come on a year and three. months. This needs to be taken care of. Sacrifice it now. Now. I promise you, I'll try to make you. proud. Not for me. I can't guarantee it. cuz I don't know what. a about me? It's not for me, it's for. you. You even said though, things pop up and. that I don't know of and stuff. They do. It's just life. They do. But.
you were not receptive to changing your. budget, and that really upset me. If you. change your budget If you go through the. education that we're going to provide. you for free, man, it helps you in a way where when things. pop up, you can weather them and it. doesn't make or break you. Your way, my way, my way has I have endless ways. to improve my life that I still need to. do. If I recognize them and I work to. improve them, that's a good thing. If you recognize that maybe your. budgeting way is not the best way and. you can improve it, take it from people.
who have a little more knowledge in your. in in that space than you. That's okay. It's okay not to be a brilliant, perfect. mind in every subject. Take the help where you can get it, man. Yeah. Trust me. These They're They got to pay $97 to do. the thing we're going to give you for. free. $97? What? Well, it's like a third of. the price for compared to most. So, where do they have to pay $97? That's a program to participate in. Oh, okay. Yeah, we're giving it to you. Yeah. Okay, cool. I mean, you should. have already gotten it, but Oh, I didn't.
know. Well, either way, we'll make sure. we're going to we're going to track. track you and make sure you do it. Okay. Anything else you want to talk. about? Anything else worth bringing up. in the conversation? I think you're. caught up, honestly. Unless I get. arrested. Well, I did get arrested. recently, but yeah. Unless I get arrested or something. What. were you arrested for? I was driving. without my license. Oh, okay. Cuz they. canceled it and I just got it back this. week. Uh, okay. Yeah, I had to pay a. $500 bond. I would have rather you. Ubered in that case, of course, but.
Uber's expensive. It is. Less expensive than that. I know, but still I have to get to work somehow, you know? I work at Denny's overnight, so I don't really have time. Uber. Yeah, but every day? Better than that. Better than breaking. the law. Cuz the consequences. which you did. time. Yeah, but the consequences are going to. get worse. know why, but I take risks like that. Okay. All right. Okay. Any final. thoughts? Any final questions? That's it.
Well, that was incredibly disappointing, but. yeah. That was hard. Year and 3 months. Year and 3 months. He better come back. and that needs to be gone. All of it. Better see progress. Whoo. So, that was a hard one. Hammer. financial score, I mean, across the. board, that's going to be the zero in. categories. When it comes to spending. within a budget, it's a zero because if. you're behind on a car payment, if. you're not making the car payment, don't. eat out. So, it's a zero. When it comes. to the debt, again, not making a.
payment, it's a zero. Nothing in. retirement, zero. Nothing in emergency. fund, zero. Nothing in real estate, zero. So, hammer financial score, zero.
