think the reason here is telling. These. Republican officials live in a bubble. where they surround themselves with. other Trump sickopans whose only reason. for being is showing blind allegiance, slavish devotion to the god king. So. when Trump launches a trade war that. sends cost surging, they cheer him on. and they're surrounded by other. Republicans who cheer him on. And then. Trump launches a war in Iran and they do. the same thing. And then he suppresses. the Epstein files and they do the same. thing. And eventually they have lost all. touch with reality because their reality.

is fating their god king on a daily. basis in exchange for a pat on the head. by Trump. So when they actually come. face to face with voters with real. people in their states and districts, people whose entire identity is not. predicated on their slavish devotion to. Donald Trump, this is the response they. get. I want to show one exchange in. particular. Do you think the president's. tariff policies have worked and are you. concerned about long-term ramifications. to America's global standing in. agriculture? >> Yeah, Dave, thank thank you. But um but look look. you know that the these tariffs were. meant to bring manufacturing jobs home. and to improve our exports and and guess. what? It's working. Let me give you an. example. Let me give you an example. right here in Reno County. Reno County. lost 1,700 manufacturing jobs over the.

last two decades. 1,700. I was tired of. seeing manufacturing jobs leave Kansas. Now, you go to Superior Boiler here in. can here in Hutcherson, they're going to. add a 100 jobs. As I go across the. state, we went to 120 stops last month. alone. Everywhere we saw, manufacturing. was growing. And by the way, exports are. are as well. But, you know, tariffs are. such a small small portion of the the. picture here.

When it comes to to American. I I don't understand why people don't. care about American manufacturing jobs. Look, you can't keep doing the same. thing over and over and expecting a. different result. So, we're seeing that. these, you know, talk about the tariff, they're helping out sports. Does anybody. really care that corn exports are up 50%. over the last two years? That corn. prices are now over $5 a bushel, wheat's. over eight, soybeans $13. Look, these. tariffs are working. We are expanding.

our export markets because of them. So, here's the thing. Roger Marshall's. excuse for claiming that the tariffs are. working is that he cares about. manufacturing jobs, which sounds good on. its face. Small problem, though. Trump. and Republicans have lost 75,000. manufacturing jobs since Trump took. office. So, not only are people paying. more as a result of these tariffs, but. they're not even doing the thing that. Republicans are claiming they're there. to do. The only consequence here is that. the tariffs are imposed which are then.

passed on to American consumers who pay. more for everything and manufacturing. stays overseas and Americans are left. with just as few jobs and higher costs. on top of that. It is a lose-lose. scenario if there ever was one. But of. course, part of being in Trump's cult is. playing makebelieve. That's really the. whole ball game at this point. Roger. Marshall isn't there to help his. constituents. He's there to be as good. an actor as he can be. For Trump, he's a. professional at playing makebelieve. He.

has to say the words from his script and. stick to it no matter what. No breaking. the fourth wall, no matter how upset. he's making his voters for gaslighting. them to their faces because the only. goal for Republicans is doing shitty. community theater and making their. audience of one as happy as he can be. So, look, I get that partisan. affiliation is part of people's. identity, especially when it comes to a. state like Kansas. I get that if you've. voted for Republicans your whole life, it is not easy to vote for Democrats, but that's exactly the mentality that.

Republican officials are banking on to. be able to screw you over with impunity. They do whatever they want and they bank. on the fact that most people are just. going to vote for their team regardless. of what happens because tribalism is. just that potent of a drug. So my. message to Republican voters is this. You don't work for them, they work for. you. And if they're not working for you, then have the respect for yourself that. they refuse to show for you and vote for. someone else. It's not that difficult. Even if it's just this once in this.

upcoming election, show the Republican. party that is owned by billionaires and. oligarchs that there are consequences to. lying. lying about lowering costs. Lying. about protecting health care, lying. about social security, lying about no. new wars, lying about the Epstein files, lying about gas prices, lying about. inflation, lying about all of it. Voters. do not exist to prop up politicians, enriching themselves and entrenching. their own power. Voters exist to do. what's in their own best interest. Send.
