Vance SQUIRMS when called out IN FRONT OF TRUMP
First Mr. Vice President, Democrats are. already calling you the Fraud Tsar. What's your reaction to that title? And. then second. >> it. You second it up and give I like it. Past uh skepticism uh foreign. adventurism are you completely on board. with the current war in Iran? So, I like. Fraud Tsar. I certainly what we're going. to do and look we have to do it as the. president said this is a problem that. has festered in this country for far too. long and far too few people have. actually wanted to do anything about it. That's what makes this administration.
different is that we actually tackle the. problems the American people have been. confronting. So, I'm very happy about. it. And and look I I I I think that I. know what you're trying to do Phil. You're trying to drive a wedge between. members of the administration between me. and the president. What the president. said consistently going back to 2015 and. I agreed with him is that Iran should. not have a nuclear weapon. We have taken. this military action under the. president's leadership. I think all of. us whether you're a Democrat or. Republican should pray for a success and. pray for the safety of our troops. That's the approach that I've taken and.
make it as successful as possible. So, there's no hesitation given your past. statements which fit kind of operation. What do you mean there's no hesitation. with my past statements? Given your. skepticism of foreign adventurism, you. were critical of the global war on. terror previously. Well, I think one big difference Phil is. that we have a smart president whereas. in the past we've had dumb presidents. and I trust President Trump to get the. job done, to do a good job for the. American people, and to make sure that. the mistakes of the past aren't. repeated. Absolutely. That was J.D. Vance twisting himself into pretzels to.
cover for the fact that this guy built. his brand off of supposedly being. anti-interventionist and anti-war now. standing next to a guy who is like a dog. with a bone when it comes to invading, bombing, and attempting to annex foreign. countries. Now, you'll notice here that. Vance tries to claim that he knows what. the reporter is trying to do by driving. a wedge between him and Trump. But it's. not the reporter who positioned Vance as. an anti-war candidate, as an anti-war. politician. That would be J.D. Vance. himself when he would say stuff like. this. Our interest, I think, very much.
is in not going to war with Iran, right? >> Right. It would be huge distraction of. resources. It would be massively. expensive to our country. >> If you're worried about a military. draft, if you're worried about, God. forbid, a world war, the best way to. prevent it is to vote for Donald Trump. And I I really believe that. >> The most precious resource this country. has is the lives of its young people who. are willing to put on the uniform to. keep us safe. And and and compare. Kamala Harris, we've got a new war, a.
new hotspot breaking out on seemingly. every continent in the world. That's. because she's incompetent and doesn't. know what she's doing. Donald Trump is. the candidate of peace through strength, defending America, protecting the people. who serve, and preventing these crazy. wars from breaking out all over the. country. So, again, this is not some. gotcha, like Vance is claiming it is. This is J.D. Vance showing that he is. perfectly willing to discard his own. stated positions because now it's more. politically advantageous to suck up to. Trump, even if it means abandoning his.
own values, which I suppose shouldn't. come as a surprise for a guy who is now. working for the man who he once called. America's Hitler. He wrote, again, back. in 2016, "I go back and forth between. thinking Trump is a cynical a-hole like. Nixon who wouldn't be that bad and might. even prove useful or that he's America's. Hitler. How's that for a discouraging?". I don't know who I'm going to vote for. I'm definitely not going to vote for. Trump because I think that he's. projecting very complex problems onto. simple villains. Granted, keep in mind.
that J.D. Vance is still a snake. And. here's proof of exactly that. You might. have seen a story in Politico just a few. days ago with the headline, "Vance was. skeptical voice in White House on Iran. strikes.". Let's make a few things clear. That. story does not get written unless J.D. Vance wants it to get written. That was. very obviously placed by someone on. Vance's team recognizing how much of a. disaster this war already is, and Vance. positioning himself for 2028 as the sole. guy in the room who wanted to avoid. getting sucked into this war. Which.
might carry just a little bit more. weight, if only it wasn't already. abundantly clear that Vance is not that. guy, and instead was among the voices. angling to go bigger in Iran. And that's. already memorialized in print. According. to the New York Times, few in the. president's inner circle voiced. opposition to military action. Even Vice. President J.D. Vance, a long-time. skeptic of American military. interventions in the Middle East, argued. in a White House Situation Room meeting. that if the United States was going to. hit Iran, it should go big and go fast, according to people familiar with his. remarks. In fact, Vance was asked about.
that exact point. What did you advise. the president initially as he considered. his actions in Iran, and what are you. urging him to do now, especially with. Americans seeing higher prices at the. pump, and some of the fallout from that. across the economy? Do you express any. concerns like those you've expressed in. the past on the possibility of these. extended wars? Well, Bill, I I appreciate the question. I know you guys have to ask it, but but. but imagine the situation. We're We're. in the Situation Room,
where you can't even take your, you. know, iPod in there, or your your. AirPods, I guess what they're called. You can't take your iPhone in there. You. can't take anything in there, because it. is the most classified space anywhere in. the world. And I sit there with Pete. Hoekstra and General Keane and Marco. Rubio and the entire White House team, and the president and I and the entire. senior team are talking about the. options and about what we need to do and. about how we must best protect the. American people. I hate to disappoint. you, but I'm not going to show up here.
in front of God and everybody else tell. you exactly what I said in that. classified room, partially cuz I don't. want to go to prison, and partially because I think it's. important for the president of the. United States to be able to talk to his. advisers without those advisers running. their mouths to the American media. A. true coward. Can't wait to run to. Politico to place his story, but when. he's asked point-blank for his position, suddenly he's a loyal foot soldier. Vance will never stab Donald Trump in. the heart. He merely waits for Trump to. turn around and stabs him in the back. But as I mentioned before, none of this.
should be a surprise. This is a guy who. stands for nothing other than his. unbridled ambition and desperation for. power and nothing more. Somebody who has. said stuff like this. And so one of the. takeaways is not just that the. Republican Party base is somehow. fundamentally flawed in a way that's. unique in in American political history, it's that Trump is a really bad. candidate and frankly I think a really. bad person. In fact, even Bret Baier. from Fox News called Vance out for his. shamelessness. >> And I know you've been asked about this. before about past comments that you've.
made about Donald Trump. You've said. I've never I'm a never Trump guy, never. liked him, terrible candidate, idiot if. you voted for him, might be America's. Hitler, might be a cynical a-hole, cultural heroin, noxious and. reprehensible. Those are things that the. left is going to come after you and. they're probably going to be put in ads. should you be chosen as the VP pick. How. do you deal with them now? Yeah, well I. think the simple answer is you've got to. respect the American people enough to. just level with them. Look, I was wrong.
about Donald Trump. I didn't think he. was going to be a good president, Bret. He was a great president and it's one of. the reasons why I'm working so hard to. make sure he gets a second term. I think. you should when you when you're wrong. about something, you should change your. mind and be honest with people about. that fact. And I actually think again, whether this is running as his running. mate or running and supporting him as. United States Senator, Bret, I think it. actually presents a real opportunity to. talk to the American people because a. lot of people didn't think Trump was. going to be a good president and a lot. of people were happy to be proven wrong.
And I think it presents an opportunity. for me to make the case to the American. people that look, we have two very. different sets of results. Four years of. Joe Biden, four years of Donald Trump. We know the Trump record is one of. success, the Biden record is one of. failure. I came around to Donald Trump, and I think that a lot of Americans will. do the exact same thing. Which is a lot. of words to say Vance saw an opportunity. to advance his own interest, and he. jumped on the train. The guy stands for. nothing other than his own shameless. pursuit of power. In other words, he. should actually feel right at home in.
