UH OH: Trump CONFRONTED with question on his young female aide

Trump just got the question that he'd. been dreading. To quickly set the stage. here, just yesterday, John Oaf took to. the stage at a rally and said this. >> And there's something. uniquely despicable. >> about lying a nation into war, >> treating citizens as fools and those who. serve as pawns. aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. They've. now been at sea for 240 plus days.

without a port call. It's a Navy record. And still And still. >> And still they serve with excellence. >> And still they serve with excellence. [cheering]. >> God bless the sailors, Marines, aviators, and all aboard the United. States ship Abraham Lincoln. [cheering].

See, they don't expect luxury. They'll endure hardship. But they deserve competent leaders who. send them into combat only when. necessary. >> and with decisive clarity of purpose, not fools who lie about the purpose and. progress of war. That's right. >> And while the sailors on the Lincoln. fight his war, >> while he fruitlessly drains our. munitions and oil reserves, [snorts].

the president sleeps through his. meetings. >> He golfs and trades stocks. >> See, he doesn't want to do the job. >> He wants to build his ballroom and. travel with Natalie on their apparently. defenseless flying palace. gifted by the. Amir ofQatar. >> and in no time at all Trump was asked. about exactly that today. >> John OA said you'd rather travel with. your aid Natalie Harp and build the.

ballroom than do your job as president. What is your response John OA? >> You mean Peewee Herman Peewee Herman. lookalike? Uh no, I would much rather do. other things. It's a we're building a. great facility here. We're fixing a. White House that hasn't been taken care. of. You can look at this. This room was. a disgraceful situation. The Oval Office. and it was it was uh let go. The whole. building, the White House was let go. The exteriors were falling apart. The. columns were falling apart. The whole.

place was a mess. In addition, they've. been trying to get a ballroom for the. last 150 years. And when I said I was. going to build a ballroom, the military. asked if they could see me. and they. say, "Sir, we have an opportunity to go. down deep into the ground and build a. military facility to go to the White. House and to go with all of Washington. DC, which would be so valuable." And. then they came up with the drone port on. top, which would be a major drone port. to protect the White House and all of. DC. And all of those things added up and. it became much more than just a.

ballroom. And I said to myself, "Wow, what an opportunity." I mean, if I was. just going to build a ballroom, I could. have had it built very quickly because I. do these I build very well and very. quickly. We went five stories down into. the ground. We did a lot of tremendous. things for the military, things that. they could never get. They said, "This. is an opportunity that we have because. you're building the ballroom that if you. would be willing to spend more time, we. would love to be able We've been trying. to do this at the White House for many, many years." and they've been trying to. have a ballroom at the uh at the White.

House for many many years. >> First of all, doesn't exactly inspire. confidence that Donald Trump's first. reaction is to mock John Oaf. Not. exactly the sign of Trump's conviction. that rather than address the merits of. the question, he needs to deflect by. making fun of someone. But then when he. finally dains to offer an answer, his. response is simply, "No, we would rather. do other things." and then begins. explaining how he is renovating the. White House. Yeah, man. That's the whole.

point. The point of John Oaf's statement. was that Donald Trump was out of touch. with regular people and instead focused. on himself, on his joy rides with young. female aid, on his vanity projects, on. his crypto ventures, and not focusing on. regular people in this country who are. hurting. And his response to that. accusation is, "No, that's not true. Look at how I'm fixing the White House. Look at how I'm beautifying the Oval. Office. Look at how I'm replacing the. marble. Look how I'm draining the.

reflecting pool. Look how I'm replacing. the gold on our statues. And that's the. entire problem. It's not that he would. rather fix the White House than address. actual problems. It's that he thinks. fixing the White House is addressing. actual problems. And that is the most. disqualifying part about all of this. In. fact, that's an argument that I had on. CNN just days ago. The fact that we are. spending what uh 950 billion uh million. dollars right now. This is money that.

could and should be going to other. things. The fact that Donald Trump is. obsessed with these vanity projects only. underscores the fact that he's not. delivering for regular people. People. don't care about the reflecting pool. They don't care about the ballroom. They. don't care about the triumphal arch. They don't care about his Qatari jet. But he is so focused on himself. He's so. self-absorbed. The the world revolves. around Donald Trump that he can't forego. any of these projects because he only. cares about himself and enshrining his. his surroundings with gold. And like the.

fact that you have so many Americans who. are hurting right now, which is by the. way something he should know because he. campaigned on that exact issue. Uh it. just it shows the gulf, the chasm. between, you know, his priorities and. what everybody else in this country. cares about. What price would you have. been okay with for a secure location for. the president to host world leaders? >> I don't care about Donald Trump hosting. world leaders. >> But if it was I couldn't care less about. the. >> So again, Americans did not elect Donald.

Trump and Republicans to beautify the. White House grounds. We do not give a. flying what the White House looks. like or if there's a ballroom or an arch. or gold in the Oval Office. And the fact. that Trump defends himself by proving. Osaf's thesis exactly right isn't doing. him any favors. It just puts on full. display that John Oaf was exactly over. the target. And of course, Republicans. have no answer for this other than bad. faith attacks. Scott Jennings, for. example, seemed to have a little bit of. free time because he's not engaging in.

So yeah, if we're. worried about the quote message this. sends to women working in politics, you. might want to clean up your own house. first, Scott. Otherwise, don't take my. word for it when I tell you that Donald. Trump doesn't give a about regular. people. All you have to do is listen to. his response where he is physically. incapable of not bragging about his own.

house and doesn't offer up a single word. about how to help Americans. Not a. single word about health care, about. jobs, about wages, about food, about. costs, about inflation, or about. bringing pedophiles to justice. If he. wanted to fix these things, he would. After all, he's getting his vanity. projects done. It's not a matter of. ability, it's a matter of will. And when. it comes to using his will to help. regular people, he simply doesn't have. the desire to lift a finger. [music].
