Trump stunt BLOWS UP in his face in MAJOR HUMILIATION

Despite Trump's obvious inability to do. anything competently, the guy isn't. without some sense when it comes to big. PR stunts, and they usually work. But. today was not one of those days. They. can't get elected with their policy. So. their policy is no good. Uh. they want to have uh I mean open. borders. They want to have men playing. in women's sport. Do you think that men. should play in women's sports? I really don't have an opinion on that. >> You don't? I'll bet you do. >> I'm I'm here about the tax on tips.

Even Trump's props don't want anything. to do with his culture war. Why? Well, that's pretty simple. Because. he ran an entire campaign in 2024 based. on culture war And you know. where that landed us? We are now at war. spending billions of dollars dropping. bombs in the Middle East. Gas is surging. to nearly its highest point ever. Healthcare has been ripped away from. tens of millions of Americans. The. market is in correction territory. Costs. of everything have surged. The Epstein.

files are still not released as the. government continues its cover-up, and. inflation is about to hit nearly double. the rate it was when Joe Biden left. office. But hey, at least some random. trans person isn't able to participate. in a high school swim meet. So it's. worth it at the end of the day, huh? So. here's the deal with this whole stunt. Trump invited a DoorDash driver to the. White House for an opportunity to. promote his no tax on tips policy. First. off, the DoorDash driver is based in. Arkansas, not Washington D.C. So this is. about as impromptu as the time Donald.

Trump decided to quote-unquote work in a. McDonald's drive-thru. But let's talk. about his no tax on tips policy because. it's not quite what it seems. The policy. provides a federal tax deduction of up. to only $25,000 for qualified tips, not. a full exemption from taxation. The. deduction phases out for earners with. modified adjusted gross income over. $150,000, but that applies to. households, not individuals. Meaning if. you're in a dual income household, for. example, then your partner's earnings.

will impact your ability to take. advantage of even this small $25,000. deduction. Furthermore, workers are. still responsible for paying payroll. taxes, meaning social security and. Medicare, and likely their state income. taxes on that tip income, contrary to. the promise of eliminating all taxes on. tips. And finally, it is a temporary. deduction. It only lasts until 2028, which shockingly is Donald Trump's last. year in office. Meaning even this measly. deduction only lasts so long as Donald. Trump can unilaterally take credit for.

it and not a day longer. Because at the. end of the day, remember, it's not about. you, it's about him. And look, that's. not to say that even a $25,000 deduction. isn't helpful because it could be. But I. find it pretty telling that for a guy. who promised the sun and the earth when. it comes to working-class Americans, that that is the best he was willing to. do. A $25,000 deduction that applies to. the entire household that expires in 2. years. Meanwhile, here's what Trump did. for you if you're a yacht owner. He. implemented tax policies, particularly. through the opportunity zone program and.

bonus depreciation rules, that allowed. wealthy investors to receive significant. tax breaks by investing in designated. economically distressed areas, and which. were sometimes used to fund luxury. projects like a super yacht marina in. West Palm Beach, despite not serving. low-income communities. Those tax. incentives allowed yacht buyers to write. off up to 100% of the cost in the first. year if the vessel was used for charter. business, boosting the super yacht. market. But hey, populism or something. And that is a microcosm of Trump's.

presidency. You are in boom times if. you're a yacht owner, or someone looking. to benefit from insider trading, or. someone looking to pay your way out of. prison, or one of the dozens of people. who've been let off the hook for. committing fraud. But Trump thinks that. if he throws some crumbs to the plebs, the working-class Americans, then that. should make them all perfectly happy. It. is trickle-down economics 2.0. The rich. continue to get richer, income. inequality is at its highest point in. modern American history, and Trump gives. a few bucks to the working poor and.

calls it a day. Meanwhile, his entire. tax bracket saves hundreds of thousands. of dollars, if not millions. Oh, while. tipped workers save a few hundred bucks. on a small depreciation that lasts a. couple more years. And Trump knows this, but he needs to keep you good and. distracted. That is the whole point of. these culture war issues. They are a. distraction from what Trump and his. lackeys are actually doing. Republicans. know that their policies are unpopular. They can't run on denying climate change. or kowtowing to fossil fuel companies or. banning abortion or cutting taxes for. the ultra-wealthy, but they can find a.

shiny culture war issue to exploit. Remember when it was gay marriage a few. years back? Then it became migrant. caravans. Now it's trans Americans. There's always been some marginalized. group that's to blame for everybody's. problems. And so if you're mad, it's. clearly because the government isn't. focused on you. They're focused on gay. people or trans people or brown people. But Republicans know that a government. that recognizes the humanity of gay or. trans or browns people is not why they. other Americans feel left behind. In. reality, people feel left behind because.

the government doesn't work for. working-class people of any gender or. ethnicity or nationality or sexual. orientation. Starting in 1989, Republicans implemented trickle-down. economics, and since that moment, as you. can see here on this chart, income. inequality has exploded in this country. Republicans wage culture wars so that. the rest of us don't wage class wars. against the very people entrenching and. exacerbating this system. Republicans. are here convincing people making 50,000. bucks a year that people making $7 an.

hour are the problem so that nobody pays. attention to people making millions of. dollars per year. You are not poor. because trans people can use bathrooms. You are poor because the government. offers you crumbs while heaping every. advantage under the sun to the. ultra-wealthy. Trump's cabinet has more. billionaires than any other. administration in history. That is who. is being served here. That's who they've. been working for since the day they took. office. Just like how Trump's first term. proved that he didn't give a about. the working class when he passed a tax. cut solely intended to help millionaires.

and billionaires. But they also know. that so long as they can distract you by. shouting about marginalized people, that. you'll fall for it. That is how much. disdain they have for their audience. They know that they just have to wave. around something shiny and no one will. realize that they're getting by. those very people. Here's James Talarico. making that point just days ago. There's. a secret pedophile ring and no one has. been prosecuted. So the people. responsible are trying to distract us. with the same old culture wars. Trump's. own press secretary said they're not.

ruling out a military draft for their. new war in Iran. So. what do we think the American people. care more about? Culture wars or actual. wars? What do we think they care more about? Pronouns or prices? This is what the. people in power always do. They divide. us by party, by race, by gender, by. religion, by culture, so we don't notice. that they are picking our pockets, that. they're closing our schools, gutting our.

healthcare, raising taxes on all of us. while they cut taxes for themselves. It's literally the oldest strategy in. the world. And they are afraid of this. movement we're building in Texas. Working people uniting across all those. manufactured divisions to take on this. broken, corrupt political system. You. know, Jen, I've I've spent my entire. career in Texas bringing Democrats and. Republicans together to take on. corporate interests, to lower the cost.

of housing, of childcare, of. prescription drugs, including insulin, and now together, working people in. Texas are taking that fight to the U.S. Senate. So I get that Trump wants to run. the 2024 playbook again. Why wouldn't. he? But clearly Americans have woken up, and his glide path to success by. distracting everybody with shiny things. is not going to work now. A lesson that.
