Trump’s Iran war BACKFIRES with miserable update | Another Day
Donald Trump says the Iran war is pretty. much complete and I for one feel so much. better. This is just another day. >> [music]. >> Ever since Donald Trump decided to go. around Congress and take America to war, there has been one question on. everyone's mind. When will this all end? And today. we got an answer. >> While we're doing all of these things, we're achieving. major strides toward completing our. military objective. And some people could say they're pretty.
well complete. Fantastic. Get this man. an aircraft carrier and someone start. printing the new banner. Yes, if I know. anything about war in the Middle East, it's that there is no such thing as an. American president declaring victory too. early. But what bumps me is over the. weekend Trump's Secretary of Defense. Pete Hegseth was on 60 Minutes and gave. a completely different statement on our. timeline. He said, "This is just the. beginning." So, good luck to Trump. navigating these treacherous waters. >> Uh Mr. President, you've said the war is.
{quote} very complete, but your defense. secretary says this is just the. beginning. So, which is it and how long. should Americans be prepared. >> Well, I think you can say both. Wow, turns out our president is quite the. philosopher. >> [snorts]. >> This war is over, but has only also just. begun because time is not an external. reality, but instead merely just a. construct of the mind. And because these are trying times for a. nation, it's important to have a leader. who stays humble. You know, they've said. this about a lot of things. No other. president could do some of this I'm.
doing. Or not. Now, one of the major criticisms. of the Iraq war was the way it was sold. to the American people. But since Trump. skipped that whole congressional. approval portion of taking our nation to. war, we were spared that whole selling. part, too. But Trump is making up for. some lost time. >> That's operation Epic Fury. That's a. great name, isn't it? Epic Fury. >> [applause]. >> That's even better than midnight hammer,
which is pretty good, too, right? If I. had to guess, I would say there's a. solid chance that the only reason Trump. didn't start a war with Iran earlier is. because the names weren't good enough. yet. But here we are with a pretty well. complete war that's not nearly complete. and has a totally awesome name, and. thanks to this president's leadership, we have higher gas prices at home, a. global trading market in turmoil, and. multiple American casualties. But at. least whoever the new leader of Iran is. will be a step in the right direction. for their country and ours, and it will. have made this entire conflict well.
worth it. >> Iran made a critical decision. appointing a new supreme leader, 56-year-old Mojtaba Khamenei. He's the. son of the Ayatollah the US and Israel. killed on the first day of the war. His. choice is an act of defiance and a show. of resistance to President Trump, who'd. specifically called him unacceptable. So, the new guy in charge is the old.
guy's son, and Trump killed his dad? Are. you kidding me? Gee, I wonder if. this son will attempt to avenge his. father's death, like, oh, I don't know, one of the most famous stories in. history? And by the way, if anyone. suggesting that I'm a theater snob, might I also recommend The Lion King? I. mean, since we're here, why not just go. full John Wick and kill the man's dog to. really give this story some stakes. I. have to say, of all the people to not. have anticipated a powerful man's son.
filling a power vacuum, Donald Trump has. no excuse. But no matter how complete Trump wants. us to believe this war is, there's still. the war of words back at home to contend. with. All throughout the campaign, Republicans championed Donald Trump as. the guy who wouldn't get us into any. unnecessary wars, but now that we seem. to be in one, there's some wiggle room. on that front. I believe that it is. already. being extremely successful, and I. believe it'll be over in short order.
Look, I just like to point out how off. base Majority Whip Tom Emmer is here, but I'm too busy being distracted by the. oversized Chia Pet he's decided to stand. in front of. If he's trying to sell. Americans that our nation is safe and. secure, maybe don't deliver the message. from your impenetrable bio dome. But, I'm sorry, you were saying? >> As the president says, this is a very. focused uh approach to. eliminate their. their offensive capabilities. Yes, there. are going to be some temporary.
effects on our domestic economy, but as. soon as this is taken care of, those. prices will tumble, and people will. recognize that this was a short-term. cost to pay for a major long-term gain. in the terms of peace and security, not. only at home, Joe, but around the globe. Wow, what a measured approach to Donald. Trump's total hypocrisy. Frankly, I just. wish some Republican would use the harsh. war hawk rhetoric that's clearly being. used behind closed doors. We're going to.
blow the hell out of these people. This. regime is in a death row now. It is. going to be on its knees. It's going to. fall, and when it falls, we're going to. have peace like no other time. We're. going to have prosperity unlike anyone. could ever imagine. Okay, that is a lot to take in. But, I. guess if I had to boil down Lindsey. Graham's message, it would be We're. going to blow the hell out of these. people. It is going to be on its knees. So, if I'm following this correctly,
Lindsey Graham's assertion is that if. America forces Iran to its knees and. delivers a strong enough blow to Iran, they'll simply fall back depleted, unable to do practically anything for. quite some time, and we, America, will. just bask in the glow of peace and. prosperity because we're simply a nation. that likes to take care of others. Seems. pretty clear. Now, as you'd expect, it's. not just politicians who are telling. Americans to get on board with Trump's.
action in Iran. He also has an entire. news network at his disposal who are. more than willing to do his bidding. I I. understand that the Democrats have their. own political spin on this, but I think. they should be careful about some of the. talking points that they were releasing. They're talking about the oil prices and. the way that is going to impact and that. the president can't last too long. That. is exactly what Iran wants to happen. Part of their strategy of this is the. propaganda machine that's going out. there saying these things and they. believe that if they can get the prices. of oil up, that the president would have.
to draw from from the conflict. So, just. careful, guys. >> Right. That's right. If you really. support America, you won't talk about. rising gas prices. Also, while we're. here, other countries are just begging. to see our electoral process crumble. So, anyone who considers themselves a. patriot would be doing their nation a. solid by letting the president oversee. our elections. And lastly, between the. war in Iran and keeping our elections. secure, Donald Trump has a lot on his. plate, so let's just zip it on those. Epstein files, okay? Because if we keep.
seeking justice for the victims, the. terrorists win. I have to be honest, this is where I. start to get a little confused because. if Iran has been a threat to America for. 47 years and this bold action from. Donald Trump is worth the sacrifice all. Americans are having to make, why didn't he and his running mate say. that on the campaign trail? You know, instead of stuff like this. She would. get us into World War III because she is. too grossly incompetent to do the job. and then. all of your sons and daughters will end.
up getting a draft notice. The thing. called the draft. Dad, what's this? Oh, congratulations, you've been drafted. into the military. The message was. clear. A vote for Kamala Harris was a. vote for reinstituting the draft and. sending your sons and daughters off to. fight in unnecessary wars, but. thankfully, with this administration, families don't have to worry about that. happening. >> Mothers out there are worried that we're. going to have a draft, that they're. going to see their sons get in and and. daughters get involved in this. What do. you want to say about the president's.
plans for troops on the ground? As we. know, it's been largely an air campaign. up until now. Mhm. It has been and it will continue to. be and President Trump wisely does not. remove options off of the table. I know. a lot of politicians like to do that. quickly. Are you trying to bash other. politicians right now for taking a draft. off the table? Apparently, rather than. trying to justify or even make their. case to the American people on why. they've done a complete reversal on. almost every single one of their.
campaign promises, they've just decided. to gaslight us into submission by. pretending reinstituting the draft is. the cool thing to do. Caroline Leavitt. is like your mom trying to get you to. eat your vegetables. You know who I hear. loves to eat his broccoli? Bad Bunny. This is how dumb Donald Trump and his. sycophants expect the American people to. be. On the campaign, he was Mr. Promises. made, promises kept, but I can't seem to. find one of those kept promises. anywhere. He said he'd keep gas prices. down. He said he'd cut the cost of.
healthcare. And then there was this. >> We're rebuilding our military stronger. than ever before and we are not going to. deplete it again on stupid, senseless, endless wars. But we had no wars. They. said, "He will start a war." I'm not. going to start a war. I'm going to stop. wars. Oops. On a daily basis, Donald Trump. continues to show us that every promise. he made on the campaign trail was a lie. He is a duplicitous autocrat who, with. the help of his administration, his. party, and his right-wing media, is.
trying to rewrite his narrative and make. it seem like this was the plan all. along. It takes a massive set of balls. to be this hypocritical, but I guess. that's one thing he's been honest about. >> if the president could do some of this. I'm doing. I couldn't agree more. But second, the reality is that we are. now in a political environment where. this administration can lean on any of.
the social media platforms to suppress. certain voices if they don't like. critical coverage. That means my. longevity here is in the hands of a few. tech billionaires who are already making. it clear that they are willing to cater. to this administration.
