Trump’s Epstein problem goes from BAD TO WORSE with brutal update | Another Day

Todd Blanche faces off against the. Senate in his confirmation hearing. Finally, America gets answers on what. he'd do if he got the job he's already. doing. Blanche began his Senate confirmation. hearings up on Capitol Hill, where it. was imperative that he illustrates to. members of Congress and the rest of. America watching that he is not working. in some personal capacity for President. Trump, but rather there's a giant chasm. between these two men. And I think he.

did a fantastic job. >> Are you and President Trump friends? >> I'm his lawyer. Was his lawyer. >> So close. I'm also his shill. Was his. shill. I'm his corrupt confidant. Former. corrupt confidant. I do his bidding. Did. his bidding. Yes, Todd Blanche really opened strong. today in his efforts to articulate the. distinction between his current and. prior relationship with Donald Trump. >> I met him as his criminal defense. attorney. I'm not sure there's very many.

people who have ever had a criminal. defense attorney who calls that person. their friend. >> Fair, but I'm not sure many people have. had criminal defense attorneys who say. this, either. >> If he chooses to nominate somebody else. and asks me to go do something else, I. will say thank you very much. I love. you, sir. >> I'd say that either puts you in the. friend category or the extremely awkward. employee category. Because saying I love. you, sir to your boss is pretty. weird if you're not friends. Hey, boss.

Todd Blanche has shown time and time. again how willing he is to do whatever. Trump asks of him. He'll sue the IRS to. make sure his not friend doesn't get. audited. He'll help create a slush fund. payout to all those January 6th rioters. his not friend pardoned. He'll target. all of his not friend's enemies no. matter how frivolous the charges. But. nowhere was his adoration for his not. friend more evident than in the case of. his suppression of the Epstein files. An. issue that Mr. Blanche views just a. little bit differently than the rest of. us.

>> I want to make sure the American people. know that this administration when it. comes to Jeffrey Epstein has been more. transparent um than any past. administration, than Biden was, or. anybody else. And what we did is we we. complied with the law. >> Did you though? Cuz I seem to remember. the Epstein Files Transparency Act. mandating that all the files had to be. released by December 19th, 2025. And. yet, we still don't have all of the. files. Which is kind of like saying you. complied with the law to not drive drunk. except for that 12 pack of Heineken and.

liter of Jim Beam you housed before. getting in your car. The Epstein files have rightfully been. the bane of this administration's. existence. Probably because every member. of this administration claimed they. wanted justice for the victims during. the campaign and then oddly came down. with a case of screw those victims-itis. once they took office. And Todd Blanche. continued that tradition today with his. passionate words for those who suffered. so greatly at the hands of this. disgusting sexual predator. >> When it comes to the the the victims of. this horrible man,

um we will never. never. not talk to victims. >> Wow, bold words. It is a shame they were. immediately undercut during the same. hearing when Blanche was asked a very. simple question about meeting with the. victims. >> Will you meet with them within the next. 30 days? So last time I asked the. question, you can say yes or no. >> on answering it the same way. Um I can. meet with them. My staff will meet with. them. We have a staff member here today. who specializes in this. >> with them? >> Um, I'm not sure what you're looking for me.

to say as I said. >> Um, I believe the word that we're. looking for is yes, which is a word I. think you're pretty familiar with. It is. the same word you utter every time. Donald Trump asks you if it's warm. enough inside his colon. Todd Blanche spent the whole day doing. what he does best, lying through his. teeth in front of the entire country and. expecting everybody to simply accept his. This man is a seasoned lawyer. who knows the law extremely well, which. is why some of his other statements were. frankly a bit odd. >> Do you believe it is the president's. right and duty to order the.

investigation or prosecution of his. perceived enemies? Yes or no? >> I can't answer that yes or no. >> When you say status, you mean those that. have filed cases in court? I don't know. what that means. >> Is President Trump, just as a simple. matter of constitutional law, eligible. to run for another term as president in. 2028? >> I don't believe he is, no. >> Nice. You don't believe he is? Is that. your hunch as a man applying to be our. next attorney general that the sitting. president is probably going to abide by.

the 22nd Amendment? So interesting how. this incredibly skilled, highly powered. lawyer suddenly transforms into that. sixth grader who forgets that there was. an exam today. No one was surprised by this man's. testimony today, especially those on. Team Blanche who oddly all happen to. work at the same network. >> Todd Blanche, uh, represents one of the top trial lawyers. in America, former prosecutor, a skilled. defense attorney. So, he's eminently. qualified, but, you know, make no.

mistake, this hearing's going to be. hostile and contentious. Blanche will be. interrogated and condemned over the DOJ. cases against Trump adversaries, the. president's IRS settlement deal, the. Epstein files. >> You know, just because you rattle off. all those things in a dismissive tone. doesn't mean you should actually dismiss. them. You can apply that tone to. anything to make it seem unimportant. When discussing Bill Cosby, people will. likely bring up how he drugged dozens of. women and sexually assaulted them while.

they were unconscious, but he's also a. terrific comedian. And speaking of. sexual assault, someone had a bit of. advice for anyone involved in that. tragic scandal. >> You know, the statute of limitations. with respect to sexual crimes, especially if you're a minor, whether. it's in New York or in Florida, there. really isn't any. So, these victims, if. they have cases to bring against people. who they say were part of Epstein's. circle, they can still do that. They can. go to the police departments, they can. file reports, they can contact their. local prosecutors. So, there is recourse.

for these victims, and they should. pursue that. And I haven't seen a lot of. that, and I I think that, you know, that's something that needs to be. focused on as well, in addition to what. the Justice Department is doing as far. as putting those files out there. >> I agree. Why aren't the victims doing. more? I mean, I know the federal. government has access to millions of. documents and enough money and resources. devote to seemingly every other issue, but maybe these women who suffered. immeasurable trauma should think about. doing their part, too. The reality is, these confirmation. hearings are a chance for Congress and.

the American people to learn more about. a president's nominees, which is why. Todd Blanche's hearing today seemed a. bit unnecessary considering we already. know everything about him. We know that. he's willing to target Trump's political. enemies. We know that he's willing to. create a slush fund for Trump. We know. that he's willing to suppress the. Epstein files for dear leader. All of. which should be instances that get him. eliminated from even being considered. for the role of attorney general. But. instead, those are qualifications that. put him at the top of the list.

Honestly, it's like reading Jared from. Subway's resume and then hiring him to. be a camp counselor. But the truth is, Todd Blanche wasn't. trying to win over any members of. Congress at today's hearing. He was. truly performing for an audience of one. Blanche knows that the sycophantic GOP. will go along with whatever dear leader. asks, which is why his only job today. was to say exactly what Donald Trump. wants to hear. Trump doesn't care if. Blanche lies his face off as long as. he's loyal because while the rest of. America would like an attorney general. who respects the rule of law and.
