Donald Trump shows his love for farmers. the same way he shows love for everybody. else in his life by treating them like. This is just another day. Like most Americans, I love a Labor Day. barbecue. Truth Social that 300,000 metric tons of. beef will be sold at 25% below the. current market price. This month, USDA. choice beef cost an average of $1049. per pound. $1049.

a pound. At this rate, I'm going to have. to grind up Aston the next time I want a. meatball. I'm sorry, buddy, but there just are. times when a man simply must have a. meatball regardless of the sacrifices. Luckily, it might not come to that. though because this beefloving bro has. my back. >> We want to get the beef prices down. So, we'll get them down a little bit. And. that's what people want. Well, I guess. since everybody's happy with Trump's. beef tariff pause, I can just. >> I can't believe that President Trump and. Secretary Rollins just kicked us in the. teeth. >> and the president makes another sour. deal and uh punches the American farmers. in the face. >> That really was a slap in the face to.

American farmers. >> These are typically folks who support. President Trump politically. So, what. are they saying about this plan to. import beef, >> Randy? Uh, all of them called it a gut. punch. >> A gut punch? That doesn't sound very. loving. Still, it sounds like there's. some miscommunication happening between. the president and America's farmers. to tell farmers? >> In American history, I don't know that. you could ever find someone that is more. pro- rancher, pro- farmer, pro rural. America than this president. Uh, I. went to no till farming, which means. fewer trips back and forth across the. field with machinery. That's one good. way. The overall. plan quickly drew criticism from the.

cattle industry and something of a. revolt of sorts from the president's own. party in Congress. More than a dozen. Republican Republicans in Congress are. publicly breaking from the president on. this one. Senator Tim Shehy of of. Montana said this quote, "I'll I've. advised President Trump against this. course of action for a year because. American ranchers have been struggling. against the packer monopoly for decades. and this will further harm them, most of. whom are MAGA Republicans. Senator Tom.

Cotton called it ill- advised and said. it would hurt ranchers." And Nebraska's. Republican Senator Deb Fischer, who is a. cattle rancher herself, posted on X that. flooding the market with a foreign with. foreign beef hurts our livestock. industry and undermines the long-term. solution, which is growing the US cattle. herd to meet demand. >> Wow. For the first time ever, including. that time he sent an angry mob to kill. them, the GOP isn't taking Trump. Tom Cotton must have seen Canada push.

back on the president and thought, "Wait, we can do that?" which I'm. surprised he didn't realize sooner. considering the man apparently eats. birthday cake every day. I thought. grown-ups get to make their own choices. was kind of his mantra. Trump's move to. suspend beef tariffs seems to be a. short-term gamble that voters in the. upcoming midterms will reward his empty. gesture. And I say empty because it's. unlikely to actually drive prices down. for consumers. Meanwhile, he's. alienating farmers. He's alienating his. own party. Even members of his.

administration are trying to swim away. from this political turd in the pool. >> What specific countries have been in. talk with the US about stepping up those. imports aside from Mexico which is. >> I am not privy to talk about that. I. think the conversations are still going. on and that's uh Ambassador Greer who's. finalizing what exactly that looks like. and I think the president's involved in. that as well. Uh, I'm sorry. The. Secretary of Agriculture doesn't know. where 300,000 tons of beef the president.

ordered are coming from. Kind of seems. like your lane, lady. Do you have some. special cow carveout in your contract? Is it religious exemption from that. college semester you spent in India? Or. maybe this administration doesn't want. us to know where the meat is coming. from. Because you got to wonder why is. some country trying to offload 300,000. tons of beef for cheap. this foreign beef that's coming in. And. again, we don't even know where it's. coming from. The last time President. Trump tried to do this, he actually. brought it in from Argentina. I can tell you everything I've done with. them. And as you see, they've been. treated very nice. You can't say the. same. Where's that beef coming from in. what country? And you can't even really. say is actually beef. Hell, neither is.

Trump came into. office promising to make life more. affordable, to usher prosperity, to. boost infrastructure, and to do away. with pointless foreign wars. And now, not only has he not followed through on. his promises, he's made everything. worse. What Trump has done to farmers is. just a micro example of what he's done. to all Americans. And maybe we can fault. some farmers for helping reelect Trump. after all the we watched him. pull during the first term. But when.

someone's constantly telling you, "I. love you," I get it. I want to believe. them, but if they refuse to show it, they are always going to leave you. feeling the same way. >> Yeah, I'm really disappointed. >> Me too, Randy.
