Trump makes INSANE Supreme Court announcement | Another Day

Donald Trump continues his crusade to. cement his legacy around Washington, D.C. by using every piece of cement he. can find. This is just another day. While Fridays in August tend to be. slower with regards to the news, today. is one exception. >> As we mentioned a bit earlier, we are. tracking breaking news at the US Supreme. Court. >> Wow, I can't imagine what this is about. Uh uh uh. a death row inmate begging for a stay on. their execution? A new ruling around. women's access to abortion? A decision.

about gun rights in America? >> President Trump is asking justices to. allow him to continue construction on. the White House ballroom. >> Thank God. For a second there, I thought. this was some sort of frivolous, ego-driven issue. Phew. Yes, the same. Department of Justice that lacks the. proper resources to produce the rest of. the Epstein files luckily has more than. enough resources to get an emergency. application together so the construction. of Donald Trump's golden-crusted. ballroom can continue. I just hope Trump.

was nice enough to etch a little doodle. on that SCOTUS position, too. So, let's hear more about this extremely. pressing issue. >> This filing to the Supreme Court, which. we just got moments ago, requested. immediate administrative stay of a. judge's order that would block. construction of non-security-related. aspects of the ballroom. That order. would go into effect a week from today, and the administration's position before. the Supreme Court is that that order is. extraordinary and unlawful. This. petition says the ballroom is vitally. required for national security to ensure.

a safe gathering space for the. president, for senior officials, and for. events that further the national. interest. >> That's right. For Donald Trump, the. necessity and urgency surrounding this. ballroom has always been about national. security. >> You know, the ballroom that I think I. think it'll be the finest ballroom of. its kind anywhere in the world. You can. see the kind of interiors. that we're talking about. That's an. interior of the ballroom. And it's the highest level. This is a uh. a few of the.

It is. the processes that President Trump. ignored along the way. Namely among them. securing that approval from Congress. >> Yes, everyone is shocked that Donald. while lower courts have ruled that. Donald Trump's ballroom construction. must halt until receiving congressional. approval, the Justice Department's. argument for why construction must. continue is the current state of the. project, essentially an open. construction site, makes it harder to. protect the White House. Basically. saying, "Sure, our illegal and haphazard. bulldozing of the East Wing made the. White House unsafe, but now that we're. here, not finishing the job would make. the White House. unsafe, and we can't have that now, can. we?".

But as we all know, Trump is an avid. multitasker. Find me another guy who can. hold crucial cabinet meetings and take a. power nap simultaneously. So it's no surprise that this man is. currently focused on more than just one. building project. >> President Trump's name might once again. be on the John F. Kennedy Center for the. Performing Arts. It came down this. summer after a federal judge said only. Congress could order a name change, but. the president's allies have apparently. come up with a new plan. >> Wait a minute, a new plan? effort to work around the rules from. President Trump's allies? Looks to me. like someone put up the Cafaro signal in. the sky, or is it something else. entirely? >> Well, the board mostly appointed by. President Trump voted today to add an. inscription to the front of the. building, so now they voted to rename it. the John F. Kennedy Center for the. performing arts restored and renovated. by President Donald J. Trump. >> Holy I cannot imagine a more. self-absorbed act than this.

>> And the board also voted to rename the. physical location of the Kennedy Center. Donald J. Trump Plaza. >> Yep, proven wrong once again. And Trump. Plaza? What a brilliant idea. I can't. think of a single reason not to name it. that. >> The former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. in Atlantic City on the boardwalk there. has been reduced to rubble. It reportedly took about 3,000 pieces of. dynamite to implode the 34-story. building in less than 20 seconds.

>> Trump Plaza opened back in 1984 as the. largest hotel and casino in Atlantic. City, but by early 2010 the hotel was. the lowest-performing casino in the. city. >> Donald Trump used all of his. presidential power to strong-arm his way. to getting the grounds of the Kennedy. Center named after his biggest public. failure. His second biggest public. failure. I wonder what other names were. bandied about as options. The. Blockbuster Video Plaza? The Google. Glass Plaza? Or maybe the Harvey. Weinstein Plaza? But regardless of where.

Donald Trump chooses to place his name, it is worth remembering that this man is. bullying his way onto John F. Kennedy's. memorial because God forbid we honor. other presidents and not involve him. I. honestly wouldn't be surprised if Donald. Trump's next move is having the Lincoln. Memorial sit on his lap, Donald Trump. has raked in billions since the start of. his second term and could erect. countless new buildings with his name on. them all over Washington, D.C. But, no. He has to desecrate America's cultural. hub that was specifically constructed to.

honor a specific person. >> When it first opened its doors [music]. in September of 1971, the John F. Kennedy Center for the. Performing Arts served a dual purpose. As America's national cultural center, >> [music]. >> and as a living memorial to a president. who saw the arts as central to the life. of the nation. >> Well, now that I hear that, I guess. Trump adding his name makes more sense. For he, too, sees the arts as central to.

the life of the nation. Pretty sure that'll be on a constant. loop at Trump Plaza. Donald Trump. doesn't give a about the arts or. culture. The only songs he likes are. sung by washed-up artists who are. obsessed with him. The only fashion he. likes is the kind where people dress. like him. And the only art he likes is. the kind where the art is literally of. him. I mean, I'm no doctor, but I think. our president might have some. narcissistic tendencies. The reality is. all of this is just more proof that the.

only reason Americans are still. suffering from rising prices, high. inflation, and unaffordable health care. is because Donald Trump doesn't want to. do anything about it. This isn't a case. of lacking the political will. It is. only because this guy doesn't care. Because when he does care about. something, nothing gets in his way. Bulldozing the White House for his. ballroom, slapping his name on somebody. else's memorial, handing out no-bid. contracts to his friends, giving tax. breaks to billionaires like himself, starting a war in Iran, or cutting. billions from cancer research. There is.

nothing this man won't do unless, of. course, it doesn't benefit him. It is. honestly my supreme hope that one day. there is a massive gathering space in. Washington, D.C. that's strictly devoted. to the level of insane corruption and. narcissism that our nation has witnessed. at the hands of this man.
