Trump makes INSANE CONFESSION amid airport disaster

As we watch the situation in our. country's airports spiral out of. control, it has become abundantly clear. that a solution, a deal, is desperately. needed. And luckily, the Democrats and. Republicans were able to come up with. something. And if you're wondering what. happened with that deal, well, here's a. Republican senator admitting that Donald. Trump decided that he would let. Americans feel the pain for just a. little bit longer. >> Uh. Senator Ted Cruz and I came up with a. plan. We said, "Look, it's a two-step. process. The The The Democrats have. offered to open up everything but ICE.

Uh to the Nationals, "Okay, let's accept. their offer. And then uh at the same time, we would. offer. a a bill for reconciliation where we. don't need any Democratic votes to do. whatever we wanted to do with ICE. And that way we're out of the shutdown. and DHS is back open. Uh we submitted. that, Senator Cornyn submitted that to. President Trump. Uh as is his right, he said, "No. No deals with the Democrats." It would.

work. We could have had TSA paid by the. end of the week. But uh the President. said no deal. >> Quote, "It would have worked. We would. have had TSA paid by the end of the. week." In other words, from the mouth of. a Republican senator, the sole. impediment to bringing our airports back. to normal is Donald Trump himself. And. in fact, even Trump reiterated that. point. >> They get a deal, Republicans and. Democrats in the Senate to fund all but. enforcement operations of ICE to get. those TSA agents to be paid and to open.

up the rest of the departments. Did you. sign that? >> Well, I don't want to comment until I. see the deal, but as you know, they're. negotiating a deal. I guess they're getting fairly close, but. I I think any deal they make, I'm I'm pretty much not happy with it. >> Quote, "Any deal they make, I'm pretty. much not happy with it." Which is to. say, there won't be a deal because it's. more important for Trump to continuously. fight with the Democrats than to help. Americans. Which means that scenes like. these will continue thanks to the. president of the United States. >> It was really long. It was chaotic,

honestly. I think all the staff were. already overwhelmed with everything. >> At DFW Airport, security wait times. reached nearly 50 minutes on Sunday, but. some travelers coming from Atlanta say. they spent 3 to 4 hours just getting. through security. >> They were like very long lines. Like, obviously, it was just a bunch of. crowded space and it was very. overstimulating. >> water. >> And there was a lot of confusion. They. were short-staffed. There was no one to. really even explain what the process. was. >> Since February 14th, TSA workers have.

continued to report to work without pay. during the partial shutdown. >> The issue with the TSA has been a mess. >> This North Texas mother says her sons. missed their flight in Atlanta because. of the long security lines and had to. fly standby on a later flight. >> I'm so frustrated. It was so I'm my head. hurts. I'm so stressed out. I It was a. very stressful day today just trying to. get my kids. >> Big question becomes, why is Trump doing. this? Why would he possibly create a. situation where Americans are contending. with three, four, five hour lines at the.

airports and be offered a solution and. yet ignore that solution so that he can. entrench the problem. And he actually. just comes out and admits exactly why. >> We want to settle. We want to settle. And I told the people don't settle. Don't settle because we have something. bigger. Only settle if you get the Save. America Act, voter ID, and so important, proof of citizenship, etc. Thank you. very much. >> was that at the airport? >> Uh we're dealing really. >> Whose idea was it?

>> Mine. That was mine. And I'm suggesting strongly to the. Republican Party, don't make any deal on. anything. The most important thing we. can have is what's called the Save. America Act. Don't make any deal on anything unless. you include voter ID. and you have to be a citizen to vote. You have to show citizenship to vote. Very easy to do. It's very insulting when they say people. can't do it because they don't know how. to do it. Anybody that can't do it, I.

think it's a very insulting thing to. say. >> Even Punchbowl News reported that John. Thune approached Trump with a deal, quote, but Trump said no. According to. multiple sources, the president wants. Republicans to stay in DC and keep. fighting with Democrats over DHS funding. and the Save America Act, the GOP's. voter ID and proof of citizenship bill. Not only that, Trump warned that he'd. publicly slam Senate Republicans if they. left town for the upcoming recess. Trump. also said he'd invite all the GOP. senators and their families for Easter. dinner at the White House. Some. Republicans took that as a threat, not a. reward. In other words, Trump wants the.

Save America Act to pass. And so, in. order to increase leverage, he will use. the pain that Americans are feeling to. force either Democrats to support this. toxic legislation or force Republicans. to nuke the filibuster. In other words, the long lines aren't a liability for. Trump, they are an asset. They would. redound to his benefit even if they hurt. the rest of the country. And at the end. of the day, remember that all he cares. about is what helps him and him alone. And for those who say, well, how bad. could the Save America Act be? Here's.

what it does. For one thing, it includes. a provision that forces states to hand. over their voter rolls to Trump's. Department of Homeland Security, the. same Department of Homeland Security. whose agents have killed US citizens. just recently in Minneapolis. They would. decide who stays registered and who gets. flagged for removal. It could also block. millions of eligible voters from voting. The bill requires Americans to show a. passport or a birth certificate in. person to register to vote or to update. the registration, which are documents. that more than 20 million American. citizens don't have readily available. Without them, they could be blocked from.

registering to vote. Think about who. that disproportionately impacts. Low-income Americans, minority voters, and seniors, all of whom tend to vote. Democratic. Surprise, surprise. Consider, too, who is also responsible. for renewing passports. That's right, the federal government. In other words, Donald Trump would be responsible for. allocating the very document that you. would need in order to cast a ballot. And finally, it's worth noting that. these documents, passports and copies of. birth certificates, are not free. Meaning you'll have to pay as much as.

$200 for a document to be able to cast a. ballot. It's almost like a poll tax, but. that can't be right because that would. suggest that conservatives are employing. the same voter suppression tactics as a. century and a half ago, and I refuse to. believe that they are that. backwards because that would be insane. Right? In fact, I spoke about this issue. just today. There have been a bunch of. major studies. For example, Justin. Levitt, who's a professor, law professor. at Loyola, Loyola Law School,

studied ballot fraud from 2000 to 2014. So there were over a billion ballots. cast in this study, and they found 31. instances of ballot fraud out of a. billion ballots cast. Like that wouldn't. be enough to to to tip like a dogcatcher. election anywhere in this country. And. also in in the state of Utah, they decided to look into exactly how. many undocumented immigrants were. registered to vote. And so they they did. this whole deep dive, full Republican. control, no no no crunchy lib standing.

in their way, full full investigation into how many. undocumented immigrants were on the. voter rolls. There was one, and that. person had never voted. So they they. have been they have been, you know, beating the drum about this issue, but. but it is a it is a a solution in search. of a problem. There is no widespread. issue with voter fraud or ballot fraud, and yet this is the basis for them to to. upend everything. I mean, Donald Trump. himself won't allow TSA to be funded. because he wants to extract as much pain.

from people as possible to use as. leverage to pass the Save America Act, which is dangerous in its own right. It. would force the states to hand over the. voter rolls to the federal government, for example. It would say that if you. want to be able to vote, you need two. documents, one of two documents, which. would be a passport, which isn't free. and 21 million Americans don't have. access to it, or you would need a birth. certificate, which plenty of people also. don't have. And women's names are. different on their birth certificates. after they from before they get married. to after they get married. And by the. way, if you want to update your passport. or order a passport, that's the.

prerogative of the federal government, which means in effect, you would be. giving Donald Trump's federal government. the ability to give you the document. that you need to be able to vote. And so. there are so many problems with this. stuff, notwithstanding the fact that. again, this stuff isn't free. It's not. free to it's not completely free to. order a passport, it's not free to get a. birth a copy of your birth certificate, which means it it's basically tantamount. to a poll tax. So there are so many. problems with all of this stuff and and. it would be one thing if voter fraud or.

ballot fraud was a problem, but on top. of all of the problems, it's it's not. And so again, this is just complete this. is just an effort by Republicans to be. able to figure out some way to suppress. the vote and they know that Democrats. avail themselves of mail-in voting more. than more than. Republicans do. And so this is just. their their brazen way. of enacting this scheme to help. themselves win elections moving forward. And it's a shame because that that they. can't just that they can't just let. their governing speak for itself. Like. they. >> Well, it doesn't speak for itself.

That's their big problem. >> and that's the problem. Like the fact. that they have to engage in all of this. stuff is just a direct reflection on the. fact that these people who have full. control of government, there are no. Democrats in the House, in the Senate, in the White House that are in control. and yet so this is like unencumbered un. unapologetic Republican governance and. you look at what we've got. We've got. Medicaid that was stripped, ACA coverage. that was stripped, food assistance that. was stripped. You've got cost surging on. everything. Gas is the highest it's it's. been. The a barrel of oil is is nearing.

$150 soon. You've got. >> Planes are still falling out of. the sky. >> Planes falling out of the sky. I mean, there are so many problems. And so and. so like of course they can't run on. their record. What are What are they. going to run on at this point? The. ballroom? So, you know, of of course. they have to cheat. So, I want everybody. to remember one thing as they watch the. chaos at our airports continue to plague. this country. This could end tomorrow. Hell, it could end today. Both Democrats. and even Republicans want it to end, but. Trump won't let it because your pain.

isn't a bug, it is a feature. It's the. point. It's a tool for Donald Trump to. exploit. And he would rather preserve a. bargaining chip for himself than. relinquish it to help thousands of. traveling Americans. Because lest there. be any doubt, Trump's presidency is not. about helping us, it is about helping. himself.
