Trump makes INSANE ANNOUNCEMENT at convention | Another Day

Donald Trump promises $5,000 checks to. every American if voters keep his party. in power. Yes, one of the cornerstones. of any great presidency, bribery. This. is just another day. As everybody knows, politicians make a. lot of promises on the campaign trail. Unfortunately, some of those promises. lack specifics. But that's why it's so. refreshing when a politician comes along. and is explicit about their intentions. The president is promising to send.

American adults money, but only if. Republicans hold on and win during the. midterms. >> Finally, a president who understands how. Americans want to be treated. If we do. the good thing he wants, we will receive. something we want in return. You know, like a dog. Yes. Last night, the leader. of the Republican party, the same one. that prides itself on fiscal. conservatism, took the stage inside a. totally. sort of filled arena and promised to. send out $5,000 checks to Americans if.

the GOP wins the midterms. And while I. have total faith that Donald Trump will. make good on his promise, some people. are raising issues that they could see. arising from this president's oh so. generous gesture. He characterized it as. a dividend, saying the only caveat is. that it has to be spent in America. >> Oh, come on. That's not that big of an. adjustment, considering every time. people make a purchase, they're already. asked which country their money has been. designated for. But it turns out. tracking how and where hundreds of. millions of Americans spend their cash.

isn't the only logistical issue. >> Well, if you think about it, if there's. more money to be spent, people are going. to spend it. And what happens when. people spend more money? Oh, I know this. one. America becomes a badass place to. live because even our babies get to be. ballers. >> Well, there's more demand for the goods. out there, and that's when you see. prices rise. >> Yeah, that was that was my second guess. The whole inflation thing. And inflation. feels like an issue that at least some.

Republicans would have a problem with. If the midterms happen in early November. and these Trump checks go out right. after, say, right around the holidays, I. know at least one member of the GOP who. will not be happy about skyrocketing. prices. According to the Census Bureau, there are about 245 million adults. living here in the US. If the government. were to send out $5,000 to that many. people, it will cost over$1.2. trillion dollar. Yes, Trump will send.

prices through the roof, but at least he. won't do it with an auto pen. But then. there's the whole issue of math, a. subject I know Mr. Trump likes only. slightly less than he likes Eric. But. since this does involve our money, it. feels pretty necessary to get into the. weeds on how he's going to make this. happen. According to the Census Bureau, there are about 245 million adults. living here in the US. If the government. were to send out $5,000 to that many. people, it will cost over $1.2 trillion.

Hey, that doesn't sound that bad. I. mean, sure, the entire discretionary US. budget in 2026 is about $1.6 trillion. But I bet if Congress switches from. their fancy Whole Foods brand coffee to. some Trader Joe's stuff, in a few. decades, everything will even itself. out. Now, a lot of people have pointed. out that Trump's offering is not only a. blatant bribe, but also wildly. infeasible. But not to worry, the GOP. has an answer for that. President Trump.

isn't saying that if we win, we'll do. this. He's saying we'll be in a position. to do this because we'll have the votes. to do it. Wow. It is such a shame that. the Olympics are so far away because. this guy would be a shoein to win gold. in the verbal gymnastics. No. No. Trump. wasn't saying grab him by the He. was merely explaining the psychology. behind his heavily researched marketing. strategy, which relies on thousands of. hours of data studying the intricacies. of human behavior because when you're. famous, they let you do it. And.

regardless, not to be such a stickler. here, but I believe he is explicitly. saying he will do it. Here is my. promise. If the Republicans win the. House of Representatives and the United. States Senate, both of them, I WILL. ISSUE a dividend to every adult citizen. in the United States of America for. $5,000. See, he even used the word promise. And. he's not a man who throws around a. sacred vow like that lightly. Another.

issue people bring up is if America is. Scrooge McDucking so hard right now, swimming in so much cash, why wait until. November to cut these checks? >> Why not just give the money now? If you. have the money, why not? >> Because if they can't, I'll tell you. what, because the Democrats can't do it. because with them, it's negative growth. With with us, it's so positive. >> Damn. Isn't it frustrating when Donald. Trump has a perfectly logical answer for. everything? See, he has the money now, but can't give it because the Democrats. can't do it because with them, it's.

negative growth. With us, it's so. positive. That's what makes him such a. marketing genius, his ability to sell. I'm still shocked that Nike never used. his pitch for their slogan, just do the. sport because you can. But just so we're. all clear here, Donald Trump. orchestrated a midterm convention to. deliver one crucial message, which is. that he wants to redistribute the. wealth. And maybe it's just me, but. isn't that idea usually referred to by. Republicans with some other name? >> The problem is this. Democrats by a.

pretty wide margin seem to like. socialism. >> They were never taught of the horrors of. socialism and the greatness of. capitalism, >> the radical socialist platform that. seems to be taking over the Democratic. party. >> So the message is clear. Democrats are. evil socialists who want to give away. your money. But if you vote for. Republicans, they will give away your. money. The reality is Donald Trump's. $5,000 promise is just the 5,000th. example of how desperate he is. It's not.

enough that he demanded the governor of. Texas redraw their congressional map to. find more seats, or that he's waging war. on mail and voting, a war he keeps. losing, by the way, but now he's turned. to promising checks. The good news, though, is that when it comes to cash. money, Donald Trump always keeps his. word. We should note though, it is not. the first time he has promised a cash. payment like this. Uh he promised. Americans $2,000 rebates during his uh. tariff policy when that was enacted, but.

after court challenges to the tariffs. themselves, those $2,000 checks so far. have not materialized. >> It never comes. The only person who's. ever received a delivery from Trump. earlier than expected is Stormmy. Daniels. But what this pathetic Hail. Mary also showcases is this president's. utter contempt for his supporters. If. Donald Trump actually respected the. people who elected him to office, he. wouldn't be trying to dupe them again. The mere act of promising millions of. Americans money that will never arrive.

is proof that Trump thinks his people. will fall for anything he says. This. president has the same respect for the. intelligence of the American people as. parents do for the intelligence of their. young children when they tell them that. their hamster didn't die. He just went. on vacation. Unlike the money for. Trump's ballroom, his reflecting pool, his arch, his helport, his overly golden. office, this money will never come to. fruition. Donald Trump is not a. president. He is the world's most. transparent snake oil salesman who has. made promise after promise that.

everybody's life will be better as long. as he and his party are in power. They're in power right now. And yet, when it comes to those promises, >> so far have not materialized. >> They sure haven't.
