Trump LOSES IT in LATE-NIGHT panic over Newsom

If you were wondering whether or not. Newsome was living rentree in Trump's. head, you don't have to look further. than Trump's own social media feed for. the answer to that question. Trump took. to truth social writing, Gavin Newsome. is way down in the polls. He is viewed. as the man who is destroying the once. great state of California. I will save. California. President DJT. But here's. the best part. Take a look at what time. this post was posted. 12:02 a.m. This. dude was up at midnight thinking about. and posting about Gavin Newsome. It's a. bummer Melania doesn't sleep in the same. bed as him anymore because clearly those.

nights are feeling long and lonely for. Donald. Nuome for his part responded by. trolling Trump even further writing. triggered. And look, it's not just that. Newsome is trolling and triggering. Donald Trump. Is that entertaining. enough unto itself? Sure, who doesn't. want to watch Trump get relentlessly. mocked for his all cap screeds? But it's. what Nuome is doing with his newfound. attention that actually matters. I. discussed that with Tommy Vtor here. It's not just about breaking through to. succeed in the attention economy. Like. that unto itself is not the goal for.

somebody doing it. It's to draw. attention. It's to figure out whatever. way you can to get in front of people so. that you can draw attention to these to. these existential threats to democracy. >> like redistricting. >> Like like redistricting. I mean, the. reality is that the Republicans are. scientifically engineering these maps to. preclude Democrats from ever being able. to gain power again, to ever be able to. win the House again. That's existential, not just for the Democratic party, but. for politics in this country more. broadly, for democracy more broadly. And. so good on him for figuring out any way. to break through so that he can get. eyeballs on him, even if it's, you know,

the the the the ridiculous stuff or the. jokes and whatnot. Ultimately, it raises. the floor for for eyeballs that are on. him on his accounts. So that when he. wants to really expose these serious. threats to democracy, he's got that. audience now that he wouldn't have had. otherwise. He gets credit because he's. not just figuring out a way to break. through in this media environment, which. unto itself is an accomplishment, but. he's wielding that attention. effectively. He's not just garnering. attention online so that he can offer up. some vague boilerplate platitudes. He is.

actually fighting. Republicans. introduced gerrymandered maps in Texas. So did he. He's actually fighting. If. ever there was a reason to pay attention. to a politician, it's when they're out. there fighting for their voters. If I'm. going to use my platform for anything, it is to highlight people who are doing. what they said that they would do, who. are meeting this moment with the urgency. that it deserves. And look, I know that. there are people for whom Nome's. policies don't align with theirs and are. worried that any support in this. particular moment is akin to support in. the presidential race in 2028. We have.

got to disabuse ourselves of this notion. that everything is 5D chess. If someone. is doing something good, praise them. It's as simple as that. That praise is. not a de facto endorsement of every. policy position they've ever held. We. are not in a position where we can be. imposing purity tests right now. Democrats lost the House, lost the. Senate, lost the White House. We need to. impose a policy of inclusion, not. exclusion. So if Newsome is doing. something good, give them credit. If. Bernie and AOC are doing something good,

give them credit. If Jared Golden and. Marie Glusen Camperez are doing. something good, give them credit. If. we're going to be the big tent party, part of that is actually acting like the. big tent party. I frankly don't give a. what happens in 2028. That is the. last thing I'm thinking about right now. What I'm thinking about now is. highlighting the people who are showing. up to the fight and doing the work and. creating an incentive structure for. other Democrats to do the same. I'll. highlight Nome not just to give Nuome. props, which he deserves, but to show.

the other Democrats out there, many of. whom, let's be honest, want the. attention that this is how you get it. You don't get attention just because. you've got a D next to your name. You. get it when you earn it. You get it when. you fight for it. So, fight for it. In. fact, here's the proof that that fight. is actually working. >> Yeah, I think I think it absolutely has. been working in terms of generating. attention, which what he's trying to do, right? I mean, take a look here. Let's. take a look right at the atgov press. office followers on X. That's of course. where you get those sort of the account.

where Newsome post those Trump style. mocking types of tweets. Get this that. that account get this up. >> 450% in terms of the number of followers. since mid June. And it's not just on. Twitter X where where Newsome is gaining. even on Tik Tok and Instagram. His. followers are up over a million since. January alone. My goodness gracious. And. more than that, Laura, more than that. What about Google? What about those. Google searches for him? Get this. Daily. Google searches for Gavin Newsome up. like a rocket. What are we talking. about? Since June 1, up 1300%. Compared.

to August 1st, look at that. Up 500%. So, the bottom line is in politics, especially if you're thinking of. entering in 2028, it's all about. generating attention. And so far, Gavin. Newsome has done a good job at. generating attention. >> The Democrats want it. >> Do Democrats want it? Okay. Do Democrats. want it? This, I think, is a trend line. that I think says it all. Democrats want. their leaders to what? try to stop the. GOP or work with the GOP. You go back to. 2017, you see here, work with the GOP. took the cake at 74% compared to just. 23% who said to try and stop the GOP.

But now I'm going to come over to your. side of the screen, Laura. Look at 2025. I'm coming as close as I can. 57% say. they try want the Democratic leaders to. try and stop the GOP compared to just. 42% who say they want to work with the. GOP. That is a major shift. What are we. talking about here? Some quick math up. here is 34% rise in terms of the. percentage of Democrats who want their. leaders to try and stop the GOP. So no. wonder Gavin Newsome, he's looking at. this polling. He's saying, "I can. generate attention. This is where the. Democratic base is." And right now, he. seems to be following the Democratic.

base. And let's be clear, the. Republicans know that they've got. something to worry about here when. Democrats fight back. That's why they're. scrambling to land on a talking point. when it comes to Newsome. They're not. used to being on the defensive. And now. that they are, it shows that they don't. know what to do. >> Congressman Greg uh Abbott, who is in a. wheelchair, and Newsome says he rolled. over for Trump. That's almost as bad as. Jasmine Crockett calling him Governor. Hot Wheels. You know, we asked for a. statement and and Newsome's office said. something flippant like, you know, oh,

you're so woke. Uh he'll get over it. Abbott will get over it. Your response. to that? >> You've literally got Fox host. complaining that Newsome isn't falling. victim to their manufactured outrage. I. thought the left was supposed to be the. woke ones. Now Fox is taking up the. mantle. Or how about this? >> The other thing uh for me is that for. the last week, Gavin Newsome and I Why. am I giving him advice? You have to stop. it with the Twitter thing. I don't know. where his wife is. If I were his wife, I. would say what? You are making a fool of.

yourself. Stop it. Do not do not let. your staff tweet. And if you're doing it. yourself, put the phone away and start. over. And if you want, he's got a big. job as governor of California, but if he. wants an even bigger job, he has to be a. little bit more serious. >> Yes, Gavin, you're making a fool of. yourself by directly imitating Donald. Trump. How embarrassing. Or how about. this? Gavin Newsome, meantime, posting. this on X, Liz, using all capitals, of. course, trying to mock Trump, use Trump. style. He's been doing this for a while. now. He says, quoting, "Chump Trump just.

fled the podium with Putin. No. questions, nothing. Total low energy. The man looked like he'd just eaten. three buckets of KFC with Vlad. Admit. it, Donnie Jay, you're terrified because. this was the worst week of your life. because of me, Gavin C. Newsome. I think. he's trying to be funny. I think I mean, I don't know what he's trying to do, but. but it comes across as childish. And. what are you're the governor of the. biggest state in the union? What are you. doing? >> Honestly, I feel like he's trying so. hard to be Trump, but he's coming off.

like Kanye West. He seems absolutely. insane. >> That's right. It's childish when Newsome. does it, but when Trump does it, it's. presidential. Heads I win, tails you. lose. In other words, Fox doesn't know. how to fight back. Trump is spiraling. and the rest of the Democratic party has. the road map. Now, it's just a matter of. using it. The solution is right in front. of our faces. Do we want to be the party. of strongly worded letters or do we want. to be the party that actually delivers. on the things that our voters vote for?
