Trump HUMILIATED in court as judge hits him where it HURTS MOST

We have a major court case that signals. bad news for Donald Trump. I'm joined. now by the founder of Democracy. Defenders Action, Norm Eisen. Norm, tell. me about the case that you just won. >> Brian, one of the signature. features of the Trump administration, like so many other authoritarian regimes. around the world, is corruption. And we. just won the biggest victory yet in. court against Donald Trump's corruption.

Summary judgment, a final ruling that. his name has to come off the Kennedy. Center. He corrupted that institution. And then, as if that weren't enough, it. was a one-two punch. The court also. preliminarily enjoined the closure of. the Kennedy Center and the suspension of. programming there until the law is. complied with, if it ever can be. So, major win against Donald Trump.

Uh together the with all the other. victories we've had defending the rule. of law, protecting our elections, a. biggie against Trump corruption. >> Norm, at this point, what happens to the. facade of that building? Because if I'm. not mistaken, Trump has has etched his. name into the uh into the building. itself. And so, what what are next steps. here? >> Well, um I was uh. joking with my friends and family. uh that I wanted as part of the relief.

to go up in a cherry picker and myself. remove his name. Brian, have you ever walked by a uh. fence or a wall when they're using a. high-pressure sprayer to remove the. graffiti? >> Yeah. >> That's what Donald Trump did here. He. applied graffiti, his name, to the. facade of the Kennedy Center. And now. they are going to physically. uh remove any indication of Trump off of.

that facade. I expect that there's going to be an. effort to try to get stays to stop it, emergency appeals, and we're ready. We. have a team that is set to fight back on. that, but they don't have a leg to stand. on. There's no basis for Donald Trump's. name to be on the building. The judge. explained all of the illegalities here, and his name's coming off.

>> And there won't be any avenue for him to. appeal this. I know that I noticed that. you mentioned that this was a final. ruling. Normally, you know, we watch as. Trump avails himself of every of every. appeal avenue to ultimately get up to. the Supreme Court. Can you speak about. the options that he has for appeal? >> Yeah, he'll appeal it, but I think. courts are seeing that outrageous. behavior. And this is a particularly. important one because Donald Trump has. engaged in financial corruption, he's. engaged in corruption of the rule of.

law, he's attempted to corrupt our elections, and he's corrupted the built environment. of DC with all of these illegal. projects, and corrupted the memory. of John F. Kennedy. And this is this. initiative. is pushing back on a number of those. forms of corruption here, and I think. that it is going to be very likely.

appealed, but the judges are going to. see through it, and they're going to. knock it down. >> Norman, this isn't the only case. I. mean, you have God knows how many How. many cases are you are you involved with. right now? >> We have one we filed this week on behalf. of a bipartisan crew of 35 former. federal judges to stop the Donald Trump. $1.8 billion fund. That was our 308th. legal case or matter.

>> Yeah. Norm, one other case that that. that has just surged into the national. spotlight is a complaint against Pam. Bondi. So, can you speak on that? >> Yes, that we we've This is a renewal of. a Democracy Defenders complaint. that Pam Bondi broke. the rules of professional ethics and. should face professional discipline. in how she handled herself as a. prosecutor. There are consequences,

Brian. I worked, for example, to help uh. um. take away the bar licenses of some of. those who participated in January 6th. What about lawyers who helped plan that. coup? What was done here with Pam Bondi every. day doing the bidding of Donald Trump. instead of serving the American people,

the Constitution, and laws? The. transgressions that she blessed uh raise. the most profound ethics issues and. potential violations. We complained. about it when she was. when she was part of the Department of. Justice. Uh we were told, "No, Florida Bar. doesn't want to consider while she's a. sitting AG." So, immediately when she. left as AG, we prepared a new updated.

complaint capturing the wrongdoing. Um. and we were That's back before the. Florida Bar. These are such outrageous. um. allegations that I think even in. Florida, they're going to get a very. serious hearing. >> Well, is there some concern that the. Trump administration is trying to kind. of pull one over on on everybody by not. completely firing her from the federal. government, but instead bringing her in,

you know, for these kind of symbolic. positions. I think that they named her. on some board of like science and. technology. Another another position has. to do with infrastructure. And so. technically, she's still an employee of. the federal government. Is that going to. preclude you from being able to move. forward with this complaint at the. Florida Bar? >> Uh no, it's not. This is about her. attorney general activities. She's no. longer attorney general. She's subject. to professional discipline in the.

opinion of a bipartisan group of ethics. experts and ethics organizations, she's richly deserving of investigation. and discipline. We were all shocked by. the way she served Donald Trump. Apparently, even that wasn't good. enough. Todd Blance is plumbing new. depths and he's going to face uh his own. ethics challenges. uh as well, but uh. uh this week, we filed the complaint on.

Pam Bondi. There'll be more to come. >> In terms of the Todd Blance of it all, Pam Bondi sat sat for uh a closed-door. deposition with the House Oversight. Committee. and spent a good deal of her time. diffusing responsibility onto Todd. Blance. >> Explain it to him. >> And and so how are you thinking about. about Todd Blance's role in all of this, especially as you Look, as you. rightfully target Pam Bondi for uh. defying the law and and um abusing her.

own law license, Todd Blance is doing. the exact same thing. And in and in. fact, now you have Pam Bondi on record. pointing that responsibility to Todd. Blance himself. So this isn't like it's. coming out of left field. It's not like. it's just, you know, something coming. from the the communist Marxist. Democrats. This is from Pam Bondi. herself laying the blame at Todd Todd. Blanchet's feet. >> We'll be using We'll be using those um. statements that Pam Bondi made in our. ethics complaint against uh Todd.

Blanche. And what he's done. plumbing new depths of using DOJ to. attack Donald Trump. Uh setting up this. uh fund where there was no case or. controversy, no real adversity. He. should have nothing to do with her. purported weaponization fund where the. money's. uh are being set up a resolution of. cases involving Donald Trump when he was.

formerly Donald Trump's defense lawyer. So, um. uh you know, this is uh. this is not going to stand, Brian. And. what we're seeing now with the courts. pushing back in our over 300 cases, there's a total of over 600. uh against uh Donald Trump. Uh but in. our over 300 cases and matters, the many. wins we've had, the many other wins we. and others have enjoyed uh.

uh over 200 successes in court. The. courts are saying, "Uh-uh. We are not going to tolerate this." And. that includes uh the successes we've had. uh at the Supreme Court where we've. represented municipalities. pushing back on Donald Trump's abuses of. the National Guard. I think we're going. to be successful. uh in the Lisa Cook case, his wrongful. investigation, attempted termination of.

a governor of the Federal Reserve. protecting our monetary system and the. global economy. I think another place. where we have got an injunction in place. like the Lisa Cook case, we won an. injunction uh on birthright citizenship. Donald Trump trying to take away the. birthright citizenship. He doesn't get. to choose which babies born here are. citizens, Brian. That's the choice of. the United States Constitution. So, I. think our uh the injunctions we've won.

in all of those cases are going to be. upheld at the Supreme Court and plus the. many, many victories we've had in the. lower courts. You're going to see. accountability coming for this. wrongdoing. And certainly, Bondi and. Blanche are going to have to face these. serious questions about the um. um ethical compliance or lack of same. >> Last question on that as it relates to.

Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche and the. prospect of of bar investigations. Do. you think that the individual state bars. are up to the task right now of holding. to account these Republican prosecutors. and attorneys who are flagrantly abusing. their law licenses in blind deference to. whatever edict Trump has handed down? >> Well, I think they're they're they're. certainly capable of investigating. We know that from a long history of.

state bars um. making adverse ethics um. uh filings or at least opening. investigations. of those of both parties. It's a very. fearless group. Remember that the state. bars generally answer to the state. Supreme Courts. The courts have been the. number one safeguard of our democracy at. the federal and state level. And um.

indeed, we've just uh had 35 uh. former federal judges, as I mentioned, who we represent with Susman Godfrey, with Plotkin LLP, asking the Florida. federal court to open an investigation. of Trump's $1.8 billion fund. Uh and I think that because of that. court oversight, yes, you are going to. see investigations. I won't prejudge. where. the investigation of the fund, where the.

investigation of Bondi, both of those. are in Florida. Uh there's already. ethics complaints against Blanche. The. investigation of Lindsey Halligan, remember we raised those issues in the. James Comey case, we litigated the. issues about Alina Habba. And guess. what? We were successful in those cases. with Trump's crony Alina Habba, New. Jersey Third Circuit. She's no longer. there. Um, the courts found against her. They were up to it. Lindsey Halligan, we.

had another group of judges supported. Jim Comey and Tish James in objecting to. Lindsey Halligan, another Trump crony. like Blanche or Bondi. She's out. So, yes, I do think there will be. accountability, there will be. consequences. Uh the James and Comey cases were thrown. out because Lindsey Halligan. was not properly there as a US attorney. I believe that um accountability will. come. Uh I'll leave you on this.

uh last thought. I had one of the most. senior and distinguished um of our uh. former judges group, um a conservative, said to me, "Norm, uh. yes, the judges are the heroes." Uh some. have. quit the bench. Reagan appointee Judge. Mark Wolf, he quit to fight on the. outside. He joined our brief in Florida.

about the the $1.8 billion. he felt so strongly he needed to speak. without the limitations. But another. one of the judges said to me Norm the. judges have been the heroes but judges. are not self-starters. They need you and people like you to. bring the cases. That's why we have our. over 300 cases and matters. That's why. there are over 200 wins out there for us. and our many many partners. The other.

people who also are bringing hundreds of. cases. And Brian if I may say so I've come on. here so often when we've had legal. landmarks. whether it's wins, filing cases, interim successes to talk to you and. your your massive audience of concerned. Americans because ultimately it's the. American people having that faith and.

confidence in our courts. We will. protect free and fair elections so your. voices can be heard. That is so so important.
