Trump gets NIGHTMARE SURPRISE at his OWN celebration | Another Day
The Great American Fair is on in. Washington, D.C. And you won't want to. miss it unless you have anything else to. do. This is just another day. >> [music]. >> If you were in search of a good time. last night, the National Mall was the. place to be. >> President Trump is holding a rally to. kick off the Great American State Fair. >> Now, while the president will be the. headliner tonight, that was not the. original plan. Several musical acts. backed out of the opening concerts for.
the America 250 Great American Fair, including artists like the Commodores, Martina McBride, and Young M.C. The. president, upon hearing the news, decided that he would go ahead and. headline the event himself. >> Hey, that seems like a fair trade. I. mean, who hasn't shown up to a concert. only to find out that instead of music, they were going to be forced to listen. to the angry diatribes of an elderly. blowhard. I remember that time in Iowa. when all those Swifties were instantly. converted to Grassleys.
Oh, you uh you want a close-up of that. photo, you say? Yeah, not an image that you're going to. be able to forget anytime soon. Tell you. what, he puts the ass in Grassley. So, let's see how that swap went over, shall we? >> What appears to be a steady stream of. people leaving the event in the middle. of Trump's speech. You can hear him. talking. Listen. >> That is how out of touch this man is. Donald Trump thought that Americans at a.
state fair, who were gearing up for a. concert, would be equally entertained by. a speech about the cost of. pharmaceuticals. I think all those. fair-goers were leaving to get handfuls. of pills to put them out of their. misery. I mean, my god, talk about wrong. time, wrong place. This state fair is. great in the same way that the Great. Depression was great. But, you know. what? Maybe I'm being too cynical. >> This Great American State Fair, Kelly, I'm just just kind of getting into it. You know, I've been a little caught up. with the World Cup. But this looks good.
It's 16 days. It's like the world's fair. except just America. I think this is so. good for the country. >> It is, and I wonder what this would have. looked like under Biden. I don't think. they would have been able to pull this. off. >> I know. What a bunch of incompetent. fools those people were, right? I mean, if the Biden administration had put on. this fair, I bet no one would have even. shown up. Not like Donald Trump, the. great entertainer, ever has to worry. about that.
>> [music]. >> Well, um. sure, I know that looks bad, but at. least people got to take part in a. classic fair tradition and eat some. great food. The food hall lost power and all their.
ice cream melted? I'm sorry, but if there is one man who. never would let that happen, it's old. Joey Two Cones. No wonder this guy used. an auto pen so much, his hands were. always full. Okay, so low turnout, melted desserts, not to worry, we can. get past this. I mean, if there is one. thing state fairs are known for, it's the rides, and I mean the actual. rides, not the dollar price mustache. ones Matt Gaetz keeps trying to sell. people. So, let's hear it. What do we. got? Hit me with this collection of.
fun-filled attractions that this America. 250 committee churned out for our. country. >> Now, there's a large Ferris wheel that. has gone up at 7th Street as part of the. fair. >> Ferris wheel, not bad. What else? >> You'll notice another massive structure. This Ferris wheel. >> Yep. Heard about the Ferris wheel. Okay, let's hear about the other rides, please. >> Maybe you've noticed the big Ferris. wheel. >> Tell me that there are other rides.
>> The giant Ferris wheel. >> The Ferris wheel. >> Giant Ferris wheel. >> There has been. not a an empty car on that Ferris wheel, or the Freedom Wheel, they're calling. it. >> That's right, kids. You're not riding a. lame old Ferris wheel like your parents. used to try and have sex on. Nope, you're going round and round on the. Freedom Wheel. As in, you have the. freedom to say, "This fair sucks.". But at least the Ferris wheel is fully. operational.
It It is operational, right? >> One local DC outlet is reporting, quote, "The much-hyped Ferris wheel at the. Great American State Fair is down. The. operator told her it was due to. generator issues and the engine. overheating.". >> Or not. Yes, it turns out that the one. ride at the fair keeps going down. because the generator is overheating. Man, if only this guy was in the. generator business, we could have been. saved. So, one half-working ride, melted. ice cream, low turnout, and instead of.
getting to watch a concert, fairgoers. got to watch Donald Trump rant about. drug prices. He must have said something. uplifting at least, right? >> Then on July 4th, we will have the. greatest show of all on the National. Mall. Your favorite president will be. speaking. So, please show up. >> Damn, that got desperate fast. Somewhere. Jeb Bush is going, "Can we move past my. thing now?". >> Please clap. >> [applause]. [laughter and gasps]. >> No.
The reality is, the 250th celebration of. our country should be a slam dunk, especially if it's a state fair, the. most uniquely American experience. You. eat an exorbitant amount of deep-fried. food that you would never touch outside. the fairgrounds. You watch some pigs. race around the track while pretending. those animals aren't the basis of. everything you just ate, and then you. follow that up by going on rides run by. extremely questionable individuals. It. is an American tradition that we love. I. mean, honestly, how do you screw that. up? Unless, of course, you are so.
fundamentally out of touch that you. simply don't even know what a fair is. And that about covers it. Trump can't. put on an event for regular people. because he is not one of them. He is a. rich guy who would rather show off his. wealth by landing his helicopter at a. state fair and stage a photo op rather. than just walking around and getting to. know people. This event, a uniquely. American event, was his chance to unite. the country, to unify us, which is kind.
of the thing he promised to do. >> My proudest legacy will be that of a. peacemaker and unifier. That's what I. want to be, a peacemaker and a unifier. >> Well, we don't always get what we want, I guess. Trump didn't get to be a. unifier, and millions of Americans. didn't get health care and food. assistance. We'll call it even, I guess. Now, not to be too Pollyanna, but. America 250 should be completely. non-partisan and legitimately joyful. But, of course, it's not because the guy. in charge is physically incapable of not.
descending into the same partisan drivel. that drives every fiber of his being. Donald Trump doesn't want to unify the. country because that would mean he. wouldn't get to be the center of. attention. From the jump, this has been. all about him. The group putting on this. whole affair on, America 250, is a White. House-backed organization guilty of. bypassing existing bipartisan group. formed years ago for the same purpose. There's a booth where parents can sign. their children up for Trump accounts, a. mobile museum that's been accused of.
sanitizing history, two Maha Mondays on. the calendar, and a heavy emphasis on. Christian values from the faith and. family pavilion to the unnamed. evangelical preacher over the. loudspeaker at one point. Hey, I wonder. if that doctor will make a special. appearance. Donald Trump is a grifter and this is. just another one of his grifts on the. American people. Just like he did last. summer when he spent 45 million of our. taxpayer dollars on his own birthday. base parade. Let's take a listen to the. festivities, shall we?
Either that crowd was so quiet we could. hear the tank squeaking or two mice were. on the bleachers talking about how. lame that parade was. If Donald Trump really wanted to. celebrate America, he would be. celebrating the things that actually. make this country great. Like our. freedoms and our co-equal branches of. government and our free and fair. elections. But that's not ever going to. happen because this man doesn't love our. country, he only loves himself. So feel. free to head down to the National Mall.
and see all of that for yourself. >> Maybe you've noticed a big Ferris wheel. >> Yes. I've noticed. Before you go, I'm very excited to. announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to Wield Power. in a Post-Trump World. The book explores. what is, in my opinion, the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward, power. Specifically, how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got.
here and more importantly, how we should. finally wield power if we're fortunate. enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo. Please pre-order today by visiting. the link in the episode description or. go to briantylercohen.com/book. You can grab yours from any of the major. retailers like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. or find an independent bookstore closest. to you that's also listed on that. website.
