Trump gets NIGHTMARE news amid Iran war | Another Day

Trump has expensive taste in everything, including wars. This is just another. day. >> [music]. >> As we all know, war is hell. But, did. you also know it's really. expensive? Take for example, our global. conflict du jour, America's war with. Iran. >> We we understand that the war is costing. a billion dollars a day. Um and of course, the highest costs are. coming from weapons, equipment used. You. had 400 Tomahawk missiles already fired. Uh that costs 2.2 million dollars each.

Tomahawk. And I know the president wants. a $1.5 trillion defense budget for 2027. as well. >> 1.5 trillion? Why not? Once you're. already spending a billion dollars a. day, what's another trillion and a half? I use the exact same logic on myself. Like, if I'm already mainlining several. kilos of cocaine a day, why not just eat. 13 Big Macs while I'm at it? My heart's. already exploding either way. Now, clearly, the man so obsessed with. ostentatious displays of wealth that he. probably wipes his ass with gold bars is.

not used to being put on a budget. Luckily, that's why Congress exists. So, after an incredibly unsatisfying Iran. briefing this morning, a couple of. senators decided to draw a line in the. sand. >> I emerged from this briefing. as dissatisfied. and angry, frankly, as I have from any. past briefing. in my 15 years in the Senate. I am.

left with more questions than answers, especially about the cost of the war. >> This is not a war the American people. want us to engage in. Um this is not a. war supported by this country, and this. is not a war that makes us safer. Uh for the Trump administration to say. over and over, "There's no money for. health care. There's no money for child. care. There's no time to pay attention. to how families are paying more, but.

there's a billion dollars a day. to go to the Middle East and drop bombs. on Iran. for military purposes that no one can. describe and that no one can explain how. merely from dropping bombs from the air. we will accomplish those ends. No, no more money. The one. >> Seriously, you're refusing to subsidize. this global conflict because no one can. describe why we're doing it? I can. describe why because spending money on. you don't need sparks joy. Roller.

coasters, ice cream, Shiba Inu puppies. sleeping in your lap. War with Iran is. Trump's Shiba Inu. Still, Senator Warren. does have a point. There are plenty of. problems to spend a trillion dollars. fixing right here at home, especially. since 2 years ago Donald Trump. campaigned on the promise of doing just. that. >> Everything's too expensive. because under. Harris or Biden or both, you can call it. any way you want. Under them, under this.

this administration. the costs have gone out of control. People cannot afford it. If I cut energy. and I'll be able to cut it in half. within 12 months. If I do that. uh the world will be this world, the. world that we live in will be a. different place. >> We're going to give you great health. care. That's what we're going to give. you. >> The word grocery, you know, it's sort of. simple word, but sort of means like. everything you eat. Stomach is speaking. It always does. And uh I have more complaints about. that, bacon and things going up double,

triple, quadruple. >> I haven't seen Cheerios in a long time. I'm going to take them back with me. Bacon is through the roof. They're all. through the roof. The milk, everything. is bad. And we're going to straighten it out. We're going to bring prices way down and. we're going to get it get it done fast. >> going to start a war. I'm going to stop. wars. >> To be fair, maybe Trump thought he had. to start a war before he stop it. He. probably didn't know there were like 12. already happening. The man doesn't. exactly keep up with current trends. Have you seen how he decorates? Still,

it's not like making life more. affordable for all Americans and. starting a war in Iran are mutually. exclusive. Trump can do both. Unless the. war in Iran was actively driving up. costs here at home, but how could that. be? >> A major shipping route for oil has. effectively been shut down amid this war. sending shockwaves through the markets. with gas jumping nationwide from an. average of $2.92 in Kansas to more than. $5 a gallon in California. >> The price of oil overnight jumped above. $100. a barrel. That is worse than many people.

had expected and that means you're going. to see high $3 gas, maybe $4 gas at the. gas station very very soon here. And the. problem is you've got these big oil. producers in the region who have started. producing less oil because guess what? Their storage facilities are full. They. can't get them on any more ships because. the ships are in the Strait of Hormuz. >> We are seeing a fifth of the world's. energy supply just stuck. A bottleneck. A lot of experts energy experts never. thought they'd see this where you have. maybe one ship in a week going through.

there when usually it's 80 ships a day. loaded with crude oil. >> Wow. Just wow. A waterway comes under threat. 7,000 miles away and gas prices right. here at home jump 50 cents in a week. Who could have predicted? Just another. mystifying example of Ashton Kutcher's. butterfly effect. Or as some people call. it, the supply chain. But don't think that Donald Trump didn't. see this coming. According to his press. secretary, he did and it's totally fine.

>> Rest assured to the American people, their a recent increase in oil and gas. prices is temporary and this operation. will result in lower gas prices in the. long term. >> Gas prices will go down in the long. term, which this woman in Pennsylvania. has to to happy to hear. >> I stopped at 8 gallons or 9 gallons No, 8 gallons because I couldn't afford to. fill up my tank. I'm not supposed to. cure. I I can't afford this. >> Don't worry, lady. Wherever you wind up. when those 8 gallons of gas run out, just sit tight. This will all work out.

in the long term. Also, the long term. might take a while, so be sure to pack. snacks. Oh, and. one more thing. >> It's not just drivers feeling the pain. The price of diesel is up nearly a. dollar a gallon. That drives up the cost. of farming and consumer goods and could. send inflation higher. >> People forget that when the price of. crude oil increases, that increases the. price of shipping goods and services. across the globe.

>> Goods like furniture and other items. these truck drivers deliver to you every. day. >> For the consumers, uh it's going to get. tighter. That just means. everything's going to get more. expensive. >> Well, Now, this lady's not even. going to be able to pack snacks. The. good news is, as painful as this moment. may be for Americans, not to mention. Iranians, this administration plans to. move with swift clarity to accomplish. its mission, unlike some administrations. I know. >> You see, this is not 2003.

This is not endless nation building. under those types of quagmires we saw. under Bush or Obama. It's not even close. Our generation of soldier will not let. that happen again, and nor will this. president, who very clearly ran against. those kinds of. never-ending, nebulously scoped. missions. Those days are dead. Instead, we're winning decisively with brutal. efficiency, total air dominance, and an.

unbreakable will to accomplish the. president's objectives. >> That is a relief because I think a lot. of us. >> is leading. He's determining where we. want to go, what the outcome will be, what the end state is, with a very keen. eye. And I understand those concerns. because I've heard from a lot of people. who went through I went through 20 years. of those wars myself. Uh worried about. getting dragged in, worried about. mission creep, worried about. nation-building or or democracy. expansion. >> Again, that is so great to hear because. I was afraid.

>> This is not endless, it's not. protracted, we're not allowing mission. creep. The president has set a very. specific mission to accomplish. Uh and. our job is to unrelentingly deliver. that. Now, he gets to control the. throttle. He's the one deciding, he's. the one elected on behalf of the. American people, when we're achieving. those particular objectives. And so, it's not for me to posit whether it's. the beginning, the middle, or the end. That's his, and he'll continue to. communicate that. >> Okay, folks, you heard it here. Pete. lives. of potentially deploying our sons and. daughters. on the ground in Iran. >> As for boots on the ground, the. president has talked about this. repeatedly. Wisely, he does not rule. options out as commander in chief. >> Wisely, Trump doesn't rule out options. He doesn't want to promise not to deploy. troops and then go back on his word. He's willing to lie about literally. everything else, but apparently this is. where he draws the line, and I. personally find it shocking.

that he has a line. I really didn't. think he did. Oh, and by the way, troops. on the ground in Iran isn't the only. thing Trump isn't willing to rule out. >> Mothers out there are worried that we're. going to have a draft, that they're. going to see their sons get in and and. daughters get involved in this. What do. you want to say about the president's. plans for troops on the ground? As we. know, it's been largely an air campaign. up until now. >> Mhm. It has been, and it will continue to be, and President Trump wisely does not.

remove options off of the table. >> A draft? My god. This man will stop at. nothing to get rid of Eric. This is. honestly ridiculous. Trump's. appetite for war is as voracious as his. appetite for. food, I guess. And if you don't believe. me, just listen to the completely. undisciplined military vision his. proxies are peddling. >> What I think some folks have been. confused by is that our will might be. limited, or our capabilities might be. limited, or our munitions might be. limited. They're wrong, and the Iranians are.

wrong to miscalculate American will and. American authorities and American. capabilities and American munitions.
