Trump gets FACT CHECKED on Fox News

When even Fox News is fact-checking you, you might have lost the plot. So, to set. the stage here, this is what Trump said. just yesterday. >> Here's what she said about the economy. She said, quote, "Groceries, utility, insurance, and the basic cost of running. small business keep rising faster than. wages." She also says that not enough is. being done. Mr. President, this is one. of your supporters. >> Okay, good. And I love her because you. said I got an A+ on everything, I guess. I don't know. But. >> she's still worried about but but what.

you have to understand the word. affordability. I inherited a mess. I inherited a total. mess. Prices were at an all-time high. when I came in. Prices are coming down. substantially. Look at energy. You and I. discussed before the interview. Energy. Energy has come down incredibly. When. energy comes down, everything because. it's so much bigger than any other. subject. But energy has come down. incredibly. Prices are all coming down. It's been 10 months. It's amazing what.

we've done. If you think at gasoline a. gallon, they had it at $4.50, almost $5. You go to some of the states, you had it. at $6. We hit uh three states two days. ago, $1.99. a gallon. When that happens, everything. comes down. Now, everything is coming. down. Energy has come down incredibly. He says that that is foundational. And. once that comes down, everything else. comes with it. Only small problem. According to Fox News of all places, >> we see that utility rates are still.

rising at a rapid pace. I think the last. time I looked, the CPI in September uh. said that the price of piped natural. gas, if you heat your home with natural. gas, that's up by nearly 14% from a year. ago. Uh electricity prices are up by 5%. There's also uh the cost of maintaining. the home as far as getting a plumber or. an electrician. That that is up. considerably, too. So, what about. property taxes? They've been rising at a.

pretty rapid clip, which is so weird. because we were told by Donald J. Trump. that energy costs were plummeting. And. yet, now here we are learning that. utility rates are surging, that natural. gas is more expensive, that electricity. prices are up. It's almost like Donald. Trump's efforts to manifest his lies. into reality are hitting a brick wall. According to the latest polling, the. vast majority of Americans believe that. prices are going up, not down. And it's. not just that Americans believe as much.

It is also objectively true that energy. prices are rising. Electricity prices in. aggregate have thus far surged 11% in. Trump's second term despite promises. that he would quote cut the price of. energy and electricity in half by the. start of 2026 which by the way is a. month away. According to the Guardian. among the reason for the increases are. Trump's moves to boost fossil fuels says. the new letter which was signed by the. senators Ed Marky of Massachusetts and. Jeff Mkeley of Oregon that includes coal. the costliest and dirtiest energy. source. The president has also waged a.

war on inexpensive wind and solar power. despite soaring electricity demand. driven by artificial intelligence data. centers. More than 12 million US homes. could have been powered by the clean. energy projects that have been cancelled. or delayed since Trump's re-election. The White House has also made the crisis. worse by proposing to eliminate the $4. billion which Congress approved for. heating and cooling aid via the. low-income home energy assistance. program. He is also seeking to cut or. eliminate funding for the Energy Star. program, which promotes energy. efficiency and has saved Americans $500. billion in energy costs according to.

federal data. So, not only are energy. prices rising, but they are rising due. to him. And yet, the fact that Donald. Trump suggests that the opposite is. happening is a testament to either his. delusion or his dishonesty. And yet, if. you think he's going to do anything. about it, you'd be sorely mistaken. Right after last month's elections, there was a momentary pivot to. affordability. But that lasted all of. five minutes before he started calling. the entire effort a Democratic scam and. a Democratic hoax. And now here's the. new plan for midterms.

>> They never discussed it. They just say. the election's about affordability. Well, it may very well be. I think it's. also about still the border. You have to. remember the job. You know, the sad. thing is uh for 7 months we've had no. people come through our border. Nobody. can even believe it. >> To pivot to the border. How about that? a brand new strategy only ever attempted. before in well in every single midterm. cycle that I can ever remember by. Republicans. Because why try literally.

anything else when you can just. fearmonger about migrant caravans to get. white people all riled up about brown. people? I got to ask for anyone who. voted for Trump or Republicans, can't. you see what's happening? These people. have so much oozing disdain for you that. they think that you can be bought off. with the same tired con election after. election every single year. It's. the same story about immigrants coming. to take your jobs, take your money, take. your kids, take your wives. And yet, who's actually making out like bandits. here? Because I'll tell you what, it's.

not the immigrants. It is people like. Donald Trump. He and his friends are the. ones taking all the money, taking all. the power, taking all the jobs, taking. all the influence. Take a look at this. chart. This is what the Republicans. trickle down scheme has gotten us. Rising income inequality for the last 45. years. And thanks to Trump and. Republicans one big beautiful bill that. they just passed this year, which was. the largest transfer of wealth from the. poor to the rich in the history of. America. That gap is only going to grow. larger. But they can't let you know.

that. So they have to keep you. distracted, which is why they whail. about immigration and migrant caravans. and tell you that Haitians are eating. the dogs and the cats. And most. recently, this. >> the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, is. saying that he's actually proud to have. the largest Somali community in the. country. And his police chief, >> he's a fool. >> Well, his police chief is also saying. proud to have the largest Somalian. Look. at their nation. Look how bad their. nation. It's not even a nation. It's. just a people walking around killing.

each other. Look, uh, these Somalians. have taken billions of dollars out of. our country. They've taken billions and. billions of dollars. They have a. representative, Ilhan Omar, who they say. married her brother. That's a fraud. She. tries to deny it now, but you can't. really deny it because, you know, just. happened. She shouldn't be allowed to be. a congresswoman, and I'm sure people are. looking at that. And she should be. thrown the hell out of our country. And.

most of those people, man, they have. destroyed Minnesota. Okay, Minnesota, you have an incompetent governor. You. have a crooked governor. He's crooked as. hell, but he's incompetent. Uh Waltz is he's should be ashamed. That. beautiful land, that beautiful state. It's a hell hole right now. And the. Somalians should be out of here. They've. destroyed our country. And all they do. is complain, complain, complain. You. have her. She's always talking about the. Constitution provides me with uh.

go back to your own country and figure. out your constitution. >> He's saying that yes, because he's a. racist bigot, but he's trying to. distract you. He is distracting you from. the fact that the real villain here is. him and he knows it. So, he needs to. make sure that your attention is trained. on someone else so that you're not. looking at the guy who's actually. responsible for ripping off Americans. So that you're not looking at the guy. who's actually doubling his net worth. and adorning his office with gold and. leveraging the United States to build. properties around the world benefiting.
