🚨 Trump gets BAD NEWS about his next attorney general
With Pam Bondi out as Attorney General, all eyes turn to Trump's next pick for. AG. And unfortunately for the president, it looks like there is a litmus test now. being imposed by his own party for who. gets confirmed, thanks to Republican. Senator Tom Tillis. The The. investigation of Jerome Powell, there. will not be another Fed chair confirmed. until that's disposed of or until, for. the first time since the allegations. were made public, they could actually. prove there's any even a scintilla of. criminal activity. We have seven. Republican members of the Banking.
Committee saying there wasn't. Now, separate matter, for me, the threshold for somebody. following Pam Bondi ends the moment I. hear they said one thing that excused. the events of January the 6th. I've been. very clear on that. So, I hope whoever. they have in mind to follow General. Bondi was very clear-eyed on my position. on January the 6th. That's why I didn't. support two other nominees who were. coming through Judiciary Committee, and. I won't support any nominee who thought. that any element of January 6th was.
excused. >> That the next Attorney General nominee. won't get Tillis's support unless they. refuse to tow Trump's line on January. 6th, namely the lie that the election. was stolen or that Donald Trump somehow. won. Which might pose a bit of a problem. for at least two of the current. front-runners. The first is Todd. Blanche, who is the acting Attorney. General, who was quite literally Trump's. criminal defense attorney for the case. related to January 6th. In a court. filing, Mr. Blanche argued not a shred. of evidence suggests President Trump. called for any violence. In fact, President Trump clearly and repeatedly.
called for peaceful and patriotic. assembly. Which sure is interesting. considering I'm old enough to remember. this. And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don't. fight like hell, you're not going to. have a country anymore. Our exciting adventures and boldest. endeavors. have not yet begun. My fellow Americans, for our movement, for our children, and for our beloved country. And I say. this, despite all that's happened, the.
best is yet to come. So, we're going to. we're going to. walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I love. Pennsylvania Avenue. And we're going to. the Capitol, and we're going to try and. give. the Democrats are hopeless. They're. never voting for anything. Not even one vote. But we're going to. try and give our Republicans.
the weak ones, because the strong ones. don't need any of our help. We're going. to try and give them the kind of pride. and boldness that they need to take back. our country. So, let's walk down. Pennsylvania Avenue. I want to thank you. all. God bless you, and God bless. America. Thank you all for being here. This is incredible. Thank you very much. Thank you. And do I have to show the video of what.
happened next, or are we good on that. part? So, if the red line here is people. who refuse to acknowledge the reality of. January 6th, not looking great for Todd. Blanche. Which brings us to another. frontrunner, current EPA administrator. Lee Zeldin. The guy who quite literally. objected to the 2020 election results as. a member of Congress, saying quote, "Rogue election officials, secretaries. of state, and courts circumvented state. election laws. They made massive changes. to how their states' elections would be. run. These acts, among other issues, were unlawful and unconstitutional.".
Which means he very clearly fails Tom. Tillis's test for who he'll confirm as. the next attorney general as well. But. look, the reality is that Tillis is just. one Republican senator, and there are. 53, meaning there need to be four. defections in total to block any. confirmation and avoid Vance serving as. the tie-breaking vote. There is a world. where Tillis is joined by. Lisa Murkowski from Alaska, Susan. Collins from Maine, who is currently. running for re-election in a very swingy. state, and Mitch McConnell from. Kentucky, who isn't exactly Trump's. biggest fan, and who had some choice.
words about January 6th, even though he. voted against convicting Trump in that. Senate trial. With police officers. bleeding and broken glass covering. capital floors, he kept repeating. election lies. and praising the criminals. In recent weeks, our ex-president's associates have tried. to use the 74 million Americans who. voted to re-elect him. as a kind of human shield.
against criticism. Using the 74 million who voted for him. as a kind of a human shield, shield against criticism. Anyone who decries his awful behavior is. accused of insulting millions of voters. That's an absurd deflection. 74 million Americans did not invade the.
capital. Hundreds of rioters did. 74 million Americans did not engineer. the campaign of disinformation and rage. that provoked it. One person did. Just one. I've made my view of this episode very. plain.
But our system of government gave the. Senate a specific task. The Constitution gives us a particular. role. This body is not invited to act as the. nation's overarching moral tribunal. We're not free to work backward. from whether the accused party might. personally deserve. some kind of punishment. Now, let's. ignore for a moment that McConnell said.
this somehow justifying his vote to. acquit Donald Trump. The reality is that. Tillis's red line may be acceptable even. for a shameless hack like Mitch. McConnell. In fact, I asked ranking member of the. Oversight Committee Robert Garcia about. the next Attorney General. Here's what. he had to say. You know, in terms of the. person who is expected to take over for. Pam Bondi, first of all, Todd Blanched. will be acting uh Attorney General and. then it's expected that that Lizette. Eldine will take over, but prior to. Lizette Eldine, I mean, Todd Blanched is. also the person responsible for um you.
know, interviewing Ghislaine Maxwell, which. resulted in the reward of moving her. from the prison she was at in Florida to. a low-security prison. um in uh in Texas. And so, you know, I. think people look at Pam Bondi and say, "Well, thank God she's out." But do you. have any confidence that the person. who's replacing her, at least in the. immediate future, is not just as bad or. worse? Well, as we know, Todd Blanched. was Donald Trump's former personal. lawyer. I mean, literally his personal. attorney. Now, he's the the deputy AG.
Uh he's the same one that went out of. his way to visit Ghislaine Maxwell, and. then all of a sudden she gets this move, right, to this less secure facility. And. and no one still will tell us how that. happened or who directed that. It's it's insane. that no one has admitted to who actually. gave the orders to move Ghislaine. Maxwell to a less secure prison. Pam. Bondi knows who did it. Was it her? Was. it the president? So, I think that the. public has a right to know, a the right. to transparency. And the survivors.
certainly have a right to know. She's a. monster. She's a liar. She herself. abused women. She was Jeffrey Epstein's. clearly not just partner, but but her. her partner would create creating this. huge sex trafficking ring that went on. to abuse what a thousand women and. girls. So I think the idea that we still. don't know why that move happened and. that that person that apparently was the. one meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell and. orchestrated this under whose direction. we're not sure of yet is going to be the.
interim AG. Give me a break. I mean this. is all part of the same corruption. Todd. Blanche needs to be nowhere near the DOJ. and it'll be interesting to see who. Donald Trump actually puts in Pam. Bondi's place permanently. And of course. to watch the full interview or any other. interviews, the best way to do that is. to subscribe to this channel. It's 100%. free but a great way to support my work. So look, my takeaway is this. Before we. cheer on Thom Tillis as some white. knight swooping in to save us, we need. to disabuse ourselves of the notion that. Republicans are ever going to be our.
saviors. They're not. We only set. ourselves up for perpetual. disappointment if we expect them to. So. our job is not to rely on Republicans to. do the right thing. They will not do the. right thing. It is to elect Democrats. who will. And we have the opportunity to. do exactly that just a few months from. right now to neuter Trump's entire. legislative agenda, to stop his. vindictive congressional investigations, and to do some actual oversight into the. litany of crimes and corruption that is. happening at the hands of this. president.
Before you go, I'm very excited to. announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to wield power. in a post-Trump world. The book explores. what is in my opinion the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward, power. Specifically how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got. here and more importantly how we should. finally wield power if we're lucky. enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo. Please pre-order today by following.
