Trump forgets Greenland's name FOUR TIMES on stage in Davos

There has been a lot of talk about. Donald Trump's quickly declining mental. state. And I just want to say that. that's unfair. Because personally, I. have never seen a president more cogent, lucid, and sharp than this guy. I mean, come on. It's not like he mixed up the. country that he's trying to invade and. annex with a completely separate country. or anything. >> I'm helping Europe. I'm helping NATO. And I and I've until the last few days. when I told them about Iceland, they. loved me. They called me daddy right last time.

Very smart man said he's our daddy. He's. running it. I was like running it. I. went from running it to being a terrible. human being. I don't know that they'd be. there for us. They're not there for us. on Iceland. That I can tell you. I mean. our stock market took the first dip. yesterday because of Iceland. So. Iceland's already cost us a lot of. money. But that dip is peanuts compared. to what it's gone up. Now, I'm not here. to give advice on how to invade. sovereign countries, but if I was, and.

I'm just shooting from the hip here, I. would probably start by knowing the name. of the country that I'm looking to own. That might help ensure that things move. quickly and clearly, especially given. the fact that Greenland, not Iceland, isn't even the only country that Trump. has set his sights on. Just yesterday, he reiterated that his Panama invasion. is still on the table. Earlier on last. year, you had mentioned you had. indicated that you wanted to take back. the Panama Canal. I know we've we've. heard a lot about Greenland. Is that. still on the table?

>> I don't want to tell you that. >> Sort of. >> I I must sort of sort of. >> So given his insatiable appetite for. invading other countries, perhaps try to. get the ones that you do intend on. invading, right? And of course, after. Trump carried on about the need to own. Iceland, Caroline Levit sprung into. action to pretend that in fact Trump. meant to say that all along. And the. only stupid one here is everybody else. NewsNation correspondent Libby Dean.

tweeted during his World Economic Forum. remarks. President Trump appeared to mix. up Greenland and Iceland around three. times. To which Levitt replied, "No, he. didn't, Libby. His written remarks. referred to Greenland as a piece of ice. because that's what it is. you're the. only one mixing anything up here. And. then she included a photo of a glacier. Yeah, Libby. And when he said that Nikki. Haley was in charge of the capital on. January 6, what he was saying was that. in a way as former UN ambassador, Nikki. Haley has oversight into all capitals.

including DC and so technically she was. in charge. Oh, and Libby when he said. that Joe Biden would get us into World. War II, there is a school of thought. only among the most intelligent scholars. that because World War I involved so. many of the same players as World War II. that technically World War II is just a. continuation of the first war and that. World War II hasn't technically happened. yet. And so Joe Biden was the only one. bringing us closer into a second world. war. Oh, and Libby, when Trump said that. Jeb Bush got us involved in Iraq, just.

know that brothers share such similar. DNA that scientifically speaking, there's a school of thought suggesting. one brother's thoughts can actually. directly influence the other siblings. actions. So, he's right. Got it, Libby? I mean, my god, imagine debazing. yourself to that extent for a job. How. on God's green earth could it be worth. it to lie that brazenly in service of. some in the Oval Office? Especially when this was the response. >> Did it stand out to you that he said. Iceland multiple times when he was.

talking about Greenland? >> Uh you know. uh and that it every time a windmill. turns it costs $1,000. A lot of stuff. stands out. None of this is normalized. there's a normalization of deviency in. consciousness and you know comments and. commentary and no other president he's. he's held to the curve. He's graded on a. curve. I mean it's a really some. jaw-dropping and remarkable statements. that just you know fly in the face of. facts and evidence and common sense. So.

uh but they're so you've heard them over. and over and over again. Uh for European. audience that may have been a new. speech. My god there wasn't anything new. about that speech for the American. audience. Um, the only thing that was. new is uh he said he's willing to. negotiate. But wait a second. That's not. new either because EU's been saying. we've wanted to negotiate for over a. year. >> But that's not what Caroline saw because. here's what Caroline saw when she. watched Donald Trump up there on that. stage saber rattling to invade whatever.

country's name fell out of his face. Oh, >> so sorry that was the the wrong clip. Here's the correct one. H I am so sorry. I think we finally got. the correct clip. >> I know they were all very pleased with. his speech. I was in the room, John, and. it has rave reviews. >> Yes, rave reviews. Nothing won them over. quite like berating them like this.

>> And then after the war, which we won, we. won it big. Without us right now, you'd. all be speaking German and a little. Japanese, perhaps. After the war, we gave Greenland back. to Denmark. How stupid were we to do. that? But we did it. But we gave it. back. But how ungrateful are they now? So now our country.

and the world face much greater risks. than it did ever before because of. missiles, because of nuclear, because of. weapons of warfare that I can't even. talk about. Two weeks ago, they saw weapons that. nobody ever heard of. They weren't able. to fire one shot at us. They said, "What. happened?" Everything was. discombobulated. They said, "We've got him in our sights. Press the trigger." And nothing. happened. >> Yeah. Got to love Trump. taking credit. for the accomplishments of a military. that he literally lied to avoid serving.

in. Or how about this? >> We had a good speech. We got great. reviews. I can't believe it. We got good. reviews in that speech. Usually they say. he's a horrible dictator type person. I'm a dictator. But sometimes you need a dictator, but. they didn't say that in this case. And. and no, it's common sense. It's all. based on common sense. You know, it's. not conservative or liberal or anything. else. It's mostly I'd say 95% common. sense. >> Yep. I'm sure the world was just fawning. over his inspiring rhetoric about how.

quote sometimes you need a dictator. Someone carve that into a mountain or. something. So, look, of course Trump. continues to descend into the depths of. confusion. And of course, no one in his. party will say anything because part of. staying in the mad king's good graces is. playing makebelieve that everything is. fine and normal. These people would. faster sacrifice their firstborns than. utter an ill word of the god king in. public. And so the charade continues and. Caroline Levit will translate his. incoherent diet tribes by pretending. that actually what he meant was this.
