REVOLT: Republicans ABANDON Trump in STUNNING reversal | Another Day
Donald Trump defends his questionable. deal with Iran using his standard level. of eloquence. He said anybody who disagrees with him. is stupid. This is just another day. >> [music]. >> It hasn't been long since the release of. Donald Trump's fame deal with Iran and. already it's being met with great. fanfare. >> Conservatives are coming out of the. woodwork. The hawkish guys, Mark Levin, others saying this is a non-starter. >> If I'm asked to judge this on the basis. of a 14-point agreement, then it's.
absolutely inadequate. It's also. inadequate for me to join to to form a. negative opinion about it because we. simply don't know. And Congress should. know. >> Louisiana Republican Bill Cassidy called. it the worst foreign policy blunder in. decades. >> This MOU appears to be, just from the. text, a disaster that does not achieve. any of the actual signal goals that were. set by the administration at the. beginning. >> So, it seems like the plusses and. minuses of this agreement are, let's. say, open to interpretation.
>> It's a bad deal. >> I know. I was being nice. You know, the. same way Don Jr.'s wife tells him his. tits look masculine. There is really no way to spin this deal. as the massive victory that Trump. promised. We spent billions of taxpayer. dollars to not eliminate Iran's. ballistic missiles program. We got the. Strait of Hormuz back to the way it was. before the war. And the deal doesn't. even prevent Iran from enriching. uranium, which was one of Donald Trump's. red lines. This is a terrible deal. As. far as deal art, I'd say this is of the.
finger paint quality. But look, Donald. Trump is no stranger to criticism. So, I'm sure he let these comments simply. roll off his veiny, oddly shaped back. >> Around 4:30 a.m. this morning, he wrote, quote, "These fools who think I haven't. been tough enough on Iran are either. jealous, bad people, or stupid.". >> Jealous, bad people, or stupid? That's. weird. Those are the same three. nicknames everyone has for your kids. But while this reaction from the. tantrum-prone toddler who currently.
occupies the Oval Office is not. surprising, it has given some folks who. don't like this Iran deal a bit of. pause. A moment to choose their words. wisely. >> I happen to think if you can focus on. the very top item there and permanently, verifiably, through coercion eliminate. Iran's entire nuclear program, dismantle. it completely, that would be a win. That. could be a good deal. But to see. President Trump today seeming to. equivocate a little bit on maybe.
civilian purpose nuclear program staying. in the offing or low-level enrichment, that could cross a line I think into bad. deal territory. >> Bad deal territory? Yes, if it turns out. that America spends billions of dollars. going to war with the sole purpose of. completely eliminating Iran's nuclear. program only to sign an agreement that. didn't do that, it could perhaps put. this whole thing into the pitiful pact. region, an awful contract colony, the.
diarrhea district of deals. Anybody else. want to have a go? >> Look, it's not popular to say you like. this agreement. It It would be morally. satisfying for us as to have charged all. the mullahs and the IRGC with war. crimes, line them up against a wall and. shoot them all. >> Okay, quick reminder that you are on. television and we can hear you. This. lady is treating her appearance on Fox. News like it's Thanksgiving and she's on. her fourth glass of Chardonnay. Would a. massage feel nice? Sure. But so would.
heading down to the bus station and. stabbing a bunch of Puerto Ricans. That. doesn't mean I do it. Anyway, who's. going to top Grammy's glass off? Anyone. else want to use a less violent example. and maybe couch their criticism. differently? Relax, JD. I mean, couch is a verb, not. as a noun you take to pound town. >> Senator, are you okay with Iran having. missiles? >> You know, I'm hesitating. I'd prefer. that they not. >> On the MOU as it stands, do you think. that Trump or Obama got the better deal.
out of Iran? >> Well, that remains to be seen, but. it's certainly not what. we had hoped for going in. >> Oh, how diplomatic of you. You sound. like someone who sat a few seats down. from Lauren Boebert during a Broadway. show. The songs were great, costumes were. fantastic, but as for the woman. vigorously stroking her seatmate, it's certainly not what we had hoped for. going in. It has been well documented that the war. with Iran was one of Donald Trump's.
making. Months and months of meetings. inside the situation room were filled. with advisers and cabinet officials. warning him that launching this. operation would cost astronomical. amounts of money, deplete our munitions. stockpiles, and go against the precise. promise that he made during the campaign. trail about not starting foreign wars. But in the end, aboard Air Force One, Donald Trump sent this message to his. team. Operation Epic Fury is approved. No aborts. Good luck. Which sounds like. the extent of the fatherly sex talk he. had with Barron before college. The.
point is, if the buck stops with anyone, it stops with him. >> In my opinion, the Vice President of the. United States, the chief negotiator on. this particular project, has not well. served the President. >> Giving billions of dollars to theocratic. lunatics who want to murder us, uh. is not a good idea. I think the President, unfortunately, uh is receiving bad advice on this deal. >> You think that's what's going on here? That Donald Trump is just too. susceptible to the ideas of others?
>> I alone can fix it. No other president. would be willing to do what I'm doing or. to even go through it. And I am the only. one that knows how to fix it. >> You are fantastic, all right. I know a. lot of people don't agree with me, but I. I'm the only one that matters. I am the. only one of them to ever even think in. terms of favored nations. No other. president could do some of this I'm. doing. >> Yeah, that's our hope, too. Regardless. of political affiliation, if you are a. sane individual, being completely. objective, there's really only one way.
to look at this. >> I think that there are two ways to look. at this. >> That's what I meant. >> Two ways. >> I think that there are two ways to look. at this. You can take this piece of. paper literally, you can analyze every. word, you can be the DC class, and you. can focus on this memorandum of. understanding, or moratorium, or more whatever, the. memo of understanding. It's this piece. of paper. Or you can just trust Donald Trump. >> Oof, it's such a hard decision. Do I.
trust the specifics agreed upon between. the United States and Iran in the. memorandum of understanding? >> Moratorium, or more whatever, the memo. of understanding. It's this piece of. paper. >> I'd say that's a pretty simplistic view. of the document that's supposed to. ensure Iran doesn't blow up the world, but sure. Do I trust this piece of. paper, or do I trust the man who said. Mexico would pay for his border wall, but we ended up footing the $15 billion. bill? The man who said we'd be stupid. not to accept a free plane from Qatar, but that free plane ended up costing a. billion dollars to retrofit? And the man.
who said his ballroom would cost $200. million without a dime coming out of. taxpayers' pockets, but now it looks. like it's going to cost three times that. much, and Americans are on the hook for. half. Gosh, I don't know. I'm really. stuck between a rock and the softest. pillow of all time. The reality is, the. disappointment over this deal is not. just coming from liberals and. progressives who thought Donald Trump's. war with Iran was as terrible an idea as. Stephen Miller's hair hat. It is coming. from his own base, members of his own.
party, or at least the ones courageous. enough to speak up. Well, maybe. courageous is too strong a word, considering the most vocal of these. Republicans are Tom Tillis and Bill. Cassidy, two senators not up for. re-election. Doesn't exactly take a lot. of guts to tell off your boss once. you've already quit your job. As my. former supervisor at Taco Bell informs. me. And why won't these other Republican. members of Congress say what they know. to be true? That this deal isn't even. close to what the president promised. That by taking us to war, he has wasted.
billions of our taxpayer dollars, drove. the cost of energy sky high, and. alienated our allies, which made America. less safe. The answer is they would. rather hold on to power than do what's. right. But here's the secret I'm happy. to remind them of. If Donald Trump. crashes the plane that we're all on, you. all die, too. So now is the time to take. a stand. To stop acting like sycophantic. acolytes desperate for praise and start. acting like adults who represent the. constituents who put you in office. Who. I have a feeling find you all to be.
>> jealous, bad people, or stupid. >> Exactly. >> [music]. >> Before you go, I'm very excited to. announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to wield power. in a post-Trump world. The book explores. what is, in my opinion, the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward: power. Specifically, how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got. here and more importantly, how we should. finally wield power if we're fortunate.
enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo.
