Republicans get EXPLOSIVE Epstein update
It looks like the Republicans just got. their bluff called on the latest Epstein. gambit. You might remember that their. grand plan to get the attention off of. Trump was to haul Bill and Hillary. Clinton instead. Well, the Clintons. agreed only to find out that the. deposition would be in private. To which. Hillary Clinton said, quote, "For 6. months, we engaged Republicans on the. oversight committee in good faith. We. told them what we know under oath. They. ignored all of it. They moved the. goalpost and turned accountability into. an exercise and distraction. So, let's. stop the games. If you want this fight, Representative James Comr, let's have it.
in public. You love to talk about. transparency. There's nothing more. transparent than a public hearing. Cameras on. We will be there. In other. words, she called his bluff. To which CR. replied, "She wants to tell you how to. do your job. You're saying no.". >> No. Look, she has moved the goalpost. millions of times throughout this entire. process, then fires out an email. attacking me today accusing me of moving. the goalpost, and she's the one who's. tried to move the goalpost again. She. agreed to a standard deposition. The. deposition will be made public. So, what.
she's asking for is already going to. happen. The the deposition will be. videoed. You'll have the audio and a. transcript. Everyone in America will. have access to it. Every deposition I've. ever done in the three years I've been. chairman of the House Oversight. Committee. We have released the. transcript and the video and the audio. So, what she's asking for is already. going to happen. But what she really. wants, Sean, is a committee hearing. And. everyone that's ever watched a committee. hearing in Congress, including the one. in the in the House this week with the. Treasury Secretary, knows that uh.
committee hearings are more for. entertainment than substance. The. deposition is for substance. This is a. serious investigation. The purpose of. the investigation is to get justice for. the victims and to figure out why the. government failed the victims and who. the bad guys were and if they can be. held accountable. So, this is about the. victims. This isn't about the Clintons. The Clintons are trying to play the. victim cards. The victims of Epstein are. the victims, not the Clintons. >> So, for those following along at home, Trump was mentioned God knows how many.
times in the Epstein file, certainly. over a thousand. He needs to get the. attention off of himself. He decides. that this is no longer a problem for. him. It's a problem for, you guessed it, the Democrats. >> You know, when FC was alive, nobody. cared about him. When he's dead, they. care about him. But it's really a. Democrat problem. It's not a Republican. It's a Democrat problem. So, what. Democrats do we have to choose from? The. Clintons. So, let's make a big spectacle. of demanding that they come testify, thinking that they won't, and we can. make this about what they're hiding.
Except small problem, they agree to. testify. So, now Comr is trying to. backtrack because them testifying and. doing so in public underscores the. Republicans continued obfuscation. attempts, especially when it comes to. Trump. And so, now instead of a public. hearing, Comr wants a private. deposition. Why? so that when the. deposition wraps, he and his colleagues. can spill out into the hallway and spin. a narrative like they always do, knowing. full well that Fox and Newsmax and O and. the rest of right-wing media will. swallow whole everything the GOP says.
That is how the right-wing media. ecosystem operates. This isn't their. first rodeo, but it's not Hillary. Clintons either. And I should note, as. I've noted in every single video. regarding the Clintons testifying, they. should testify. They should offer every. ounce of information they have. And. frankly, if they've done something. wrong, they should be held to account. I. do not care if you're a Democrat, a. Republican, or an independent. If you. did anything illegal or corrupt with. Jeffrey Epstein, you should be held to. account. Full stop. But let's be honest.
here, that's not why the Clintons are. there. They're there to serve as. scapegoats so the attention is diffused. off of Trump. So when James Comr says, "We don't want a spectacle. This is a. serious investigation, and we want to. get justice for the victims." No, you. don't. You literally sat on your hands. while Trump delayed the release of the. files for a year. Even now, three. million documents haven't and won't be. released, and you don't have a word to. say about it. Todd Blanch, the deputy. attorney general, said there won't be. any prosecutions, and there are no. co-conspirators, and there's no. oversight hearings scheduled about that.
point. In fact, Trump himself is listed. in the files practically more than. anyone. But when COR himself was asked. about the prospect of Trump testifying, >> President Trump's name is mentioned more. than a thousand times in these. documents. Why not try to get more. information from him? Try to get him to. testify. >> Well, I've not Well, I've noticed that. uh every time you all do a gaggle like. this with President Trump, somebody. asked him about Epstein. So, he's been. answering questions about Epstein. >> Not at all. >> Well, has Bill Clinton ever answered any. questions on Epste or Hillary Clinton. So, this is going to be a new.
opportunity and we'll go from there. >> But I thought this was a serious. investigation where the sole purpose was. to get justice for the victims. So why. isn't Trump, who's named in the files. more than the Clintons, going to get the. same treatment? Because he's been asked. about it. Okay, but this is the kind of. stuff he says when he's asked about it. >> Are you still talking about Jeffrey. Epstein? This guy's been talked about. for years. You're asking we have Texas, we have this, we have all of the things. And are people still talking about this.
guy, this creep? That is unbelievable. Do you want to waste the time and do you. feel like answering? >> I I don't mind answering. >> I mean, I can't believe you're asking a. question on Epstein at a time like this. where we're having some of the greatest. success and and also tragedy with what. happened in Texas. It just seems uh like. a desecration, but you go ahead. >> So, apparently that right there was. sufficient for James Comr, Mr. Serious. Investigation. But surely surely there.
must be a more satisfactory answer. There's nothing incriminating in the. boxing. at the beginning. >> What did Jeffrey Epste mean in his. emails that he said you knew about the. girls? >> I know nothing about that. They would. have announced that a long time ago. It's really what did he mean when he. spent all the time with Bill Clinton. with the president of Harvard, you know. that Summers, uh Larry Summers, whatever. this all of the other people that he.
spent time with. Jeffrey Epson and I had. a very bad relationship for many years. Uh, but he also saw Skype because I was. impressive. So, he dictated a couple of. members to himself give me a break. You're going to find out what did he. know with respect to Bill Clinton, with. respect to the head of Harvard, with. respect to all of those people that. including JP Morgan Chase.
>> Ah, yes. Nothing says transparency quite. like calling a female reporter a piggy. when she tries to ask a question about. Epstein. I guess that's the kind of. openbook nature that James Comr wants to. see from Trump. But hey, just for fun, let's try once more. >> A lot of women who were are survivors of. epste are unhappy with those redactions. that came out. Some of them entire. witness interviews are totally blacked. out. Do you think that they should be. more. >> the fact that they thought they released. too much? You know, I heard that and you. tell me something else. No. Uh, I think.
it's really time for the country to get. on to something else really, you know, now that uh, nothing came out about me. other than there was a conspiracy. against me literally by Epstein and. other people. But I think it's time now. for the country to maybe get on to. something else. >> What would you say to people justice, Mr. President? >> Something that people care about. Yeah. What What did you say? Go ahead. >> What would you What would you say to the. survivors who feel they have. >> You are the worst reporter. No wonder to. see CNN has no ratings because of people.
like you. You know, she's a young woman. I don't think I've ever seen you smile. I've known you for 10 years. I don't. think I've ever seen a smile in your. face. >> You know why? You know why you're not. smiling? Cuz you know you're not telling. the truth and you're a very dishonest. organization and they should be ashamed. of you. Ah, that must be the very. satisfactory response from Trump that. James Comr is looking for. I could see. how a deposition for Trump wouldn't be. necessary since he's already been so.
transparent. Right, James? So, look, if. that didn't already make it abundantly. clear, this has never been about the. survivors or justice. It's been about. protecting Trump. And don't take it from. me. Take it from a survivor herself. >> When you hear the president say he. thinks the country wants to move on from. the Epstein files, is that how you feel? >> Well, first, um, let me see. Caitlyn, thank you so much for having me back. And I know I don't just speak for myself. when I say I really appreciate how. persistent you were in questioning this.
administration about their failure with. this release. Uh I don't think it's. something to smile about and I thought. you handled it very appropriately. Uh, I'm not surprised that Trump is ready to. move on and that this DOJ is ready to. move on, but we are certainly not, especially after we see we saw how. poorly this last release of documents. was handled. >> So, if James Comr wants to deliver. justice for the survivors, maybe, oh, I. don't know, listen to what the actual. survivors have to say because right now.
it is abundantly clear that he's not. actually interested in the survivors. He's interested in protecting the guy. who Epstein called his best friend for a. decade. And frankly, the only thing. worse than defending the pedophiles and. their enablers is gaslighting the. survivors into thinking that you're. somehow helping when you're not. The GOP. has found a way to make themselves even. more depraved on their own signature. issue. The good news is that voters. aren't going to forget. And every single. day that they spend diffusing. responsibility, deflecting blame, and. trying to pivot to the Democrats only.
makes their own culpability that much. more obvious. Before. you go, if you enjoyed this content and. you want to see more and support. independent media, please subscribe to. this channel.
