OMG: Trump’s gold statue reveal at Mar-a-Lago BACKFIRES
Okay, sir. >> Hello everybody. I want to thank you so. much for being there today and more. importantly for what you did. The uh the. statue is beautiful. You know, I saw it. during the weekend. We had a big PGA. tournament with a a great champion and. all great champions actually, but uh it. was a great tournament and I got to look. at it very closely and it's incredible. And I just want to thank you. I know it. was done from love and I want to thank. Mark Burns. He's a pastor. He's a good.
pastor. He's a good man. I've known him. a long time. He's been with me from the. beginning. Right from the beginning. Maybe about 2 days later, right? 2 days. later. >> Mr. President. >> Yeah, he was right at the beginning and. I appreciated Mark. You're great. And. he's really a a good person. And I want. to thank everybody there. I don't know. I hear there's a good crowd of people, but I want to thank you all and I won't. forget it. And we we love you all and. the country's doing great. And uh Iran.
is not doing good because of us. They. are not doing well at all. And good. things are happening and I just want to. really give you my love. And I wish I. could be there where we want to make. sure everything's going perfect on the. world front. I figure you you could. understand that, but uh we'll all we'll. see you all around. I just want to again. it's everybody is taking pictures of it. Everybody is My people told me that it's. unbelievable. All day long they're. taking pictures. They stand up next to. it and they have their picture taken. It.
really came out beautiful. I didn't know. what to expect. I just want to thank you. all. And we love you all and God bless. America. >> God bless you, sir. God bless We love. you. >> God bless you, Mr. President. >> Mr. President, love you, sir. Talk to. you soon. Bye-bye. >> Thank you, sir. >> That was the unveiling of a golden. statue of Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. because he definitely totally does not. view himself as a a figure. Whatever you. do, just remember that Donald Trump 100%.
absolutely doesn't see himself as a. deity. And on a completely unrelated. note, here is an image Trump posted of. himself as Jesus. Now, of course, I presume that most. people who attended Donald Trump's. little Mar-a-Lago unveiling have so. little self-awareness that they couldn't. see what it is they were doing. But at. least one person heard some criticism. Trump's pastor, Mark Burns, had to post. on Twitter. Now, obviously, this screed. is a lot, like a lot lot. But I'm just. going to read a little bit from the very.
top since I think that's enough to. really get the point across. Quote, "One. of the greatest honors of my life was. leading the dedication of President. Donald J. Trump's statue to the world. What amazes me is how quickly some. people have compared this beautiful. statue, created and made possible by. more than 6,000 patriots, to a golden. calf or idol worship. Let me be very. clear, we worship the Lord Jesus Christ. and him alone. The word of God says, 'You shall have no other gods before. me.' Exodus 20:3. It also says, 'You. shall worship the Lord your God and him. only you shall serve.' Matthew 4:10.
That is the line. Honor is not worship, respect is not idolatry, celebration is. not bowing down to a false god. What's. the expression again? Uh a hit dog will. holler, because that certainly is a lot. of words to protest criticism. It's. almost like, and bear with me on this. one, Mark Burns has a guilty conscience. for some reason. But with all of that said, is it a. surprise that Donald Trump and his cult. following are committing sinful behavior. while using their religion as a shield?
Remember, this is a guy who literally. sparked off a fight with the Pope. >> Jesus told us, "Blessed are the. peacemakers.". But woe to those who manipulate religion. in the very name of God for their own. military, economic, or political gain, dragging that which is sacred into. darkness and filth. Yes, my dear sisters and brothers, you who hunger and thirst for justice,
who are poor, merciful, meek, and pure of heart, you who have wept, you are the light of the world. >> And Trump, for his part, responded to. this comment saying this. >> Very important that the Pope. understands. Very, very important that. we nice not to say it. Uh Iran killed 42,000 people that were. totally unarmed. They were protesters. Uh Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. If.
they did, every country, including. Italy, where he's stationed, every. single country in in the world would be. in trouble. So, we're doing very well. with respect to that, having to do with. the whole situation on Iran, the. uh. the blockade is amazing. It's holding up. very strong, very powerfully. Uh and I. think we're making a lot of progress in. that. But the Pope has to understand Iran, very simple. Iran cannot have a nuclear. weapon. The world would be in great. danger.
>> And just a quick note right now on. Donald Trump's demand that the Pope has. to understand that Iran cannot have a. nuclear weapon. There was already an. agreement in place preventing exactly. that. Trump tore it up because he didn't. like the guy whose name was attached to. the deal. And that deal did the thing. that Trump is claiming he wants to do by. bombing Iran every 6 months to the tune. of billions of dollars. In other words, Trump's partisan hackery and jealousy. costs Americans $50 and counting. And. yet, it's the Pope who needs to be. schooled. Got it. And reporters have.
actually pushed back again about Donald. Trump's new feud with the religious. community. >> Mr. President, Mr. President, because. there was a group of bishops that did. put out a statement saying the Pope. isn't merely exercising his opinion, he's preaching the gospel. And what do. you say to people that do that? >> Well, I want him to preach the gospel. I'm all about the gospel, but I also. know that you cannot let a certain. country, which is a very mean-spirited. country, have a nuclear weapon. If they. did, they would use it, and I think. they'd use it quickly, and they would. kill many millions of people. So, you.
know, the Pope can disagree with me on. that, but certainly we're allowed to. have that. I'm all about the gospel. I'm about it. as much as anybody can be, but I can't. allow as president of the United States. of America, I can't allow Iran to have a. nuclear weapon. And here's the story. They won't have. They've already agreed. not to have. That's good news, and I. think the Pope will be very happy. >> that Trump is, quote, all about the. gospel. Now, you may have seen this.
video before, but if not, I want to show. you exactly how all about the gospel he. is. Here's what happened when all about. the gospel Donald Trump was asked for. his favorite Bible verse. >> You mentioned the Bible. You've been. talking about how it's your favorite. book, and you said, I think last night. in Iowa, some people are surprised that. you say that. I'm wondering what one or. two of your most favorite Bible verses. are and why. >> I wouldn't want to get into it because. to me that's very personal. You know, when I talk about the Bible, it's very. personal, so I don't want to get into. verses. I don't want to get into.
>> No, there's no verse that means a lot to. you that you think about or cite? >> The The Bible means a lot to me, but I. don't want to get into specifics. >> Even to cite a verse that you like? >> want to do that. I mean, >> an Old Testament guy or a New Testament. guy? >> Uh probably. equal. I think it's just an incredible. The whole Bible is an incredible. I joke. uh very much so. They always hold up The. Art of the Deal. I say my second. favorite book of all time, but uh I just. think the Bible is just something very. special. >> See how all about the gospel he is? And. if I was the Pope, I'd maybe consider.
just staying in my lane when it comes to. going toe-to-toe with the behemoth of. the Bible, Donald Jesus Trump. I also. find it pretty interesting that when. asked if he would meet with the Pope, Trump said this. >> Mr. President, would you meet with the. Pope to even out your differences with. Catholic voters? >> I don't think it's necessary. >> Especially considering when I asked. Barack Obama who he'd most like to meet, this was his answer. >> Who is there is there a person that you. most want to meet that you haven't met. yet?
>> I'll be honest with you. Being president or even being an. ex-president, I can kind of meet everybody. So, I've. met a lot of folks. The person who I. have not yet met um. and that I'm looking forward to meeting. and I I hope I get an opportunity. sometime in the future is uh. uh the new Pope who is from Chicago and. a White Sox fan. I had the pleasure of. getting to know uh Pope Francis pretty. well. Um. and and he was legit. You know, there. there's some figures. He's one. The.
Dalai Lama was another. It is another. who. they're how you hope they are. They kind. of walk the walk. >> Yeah. >> Uh and. my sense of this new Pope is he's from. that he's cut from that cloth. You know, he's somebody who. you know, worked. in. places. you know, that really needed help and. and and uh what wasn't just uh.
preaching from a pulpit but getting his. hands dirty trying to trying to help. people. So, I'm I'm looking forward to. talking to him. >> So, it's no wonder Trump already hates. the guy because Obama likes him and. Trump's disdain for Obama is one of the. only thing that fuels him. It's why he. dismantled the ACA. It's why he's. dismantled the Iran nuclear deal, the. JCPOA. I mean, hell, you could make the. argument that Trump ran for president. because Obama made fun of him at the. White House Correspondents Dinner. Trump. knows that he will never be as smart, never be as articulate, never be as. good-looking as Obama and so he's.
dedicated his life and his presidency to. trying to undermine Obama's legacy. instead. Even if doing so leaves. Americans sicker, poorer, and less safe. Because at the end of the day, it's not. any of us who he cares about. It's not. any of the 350 million Americans who. Trump cares about. It is Donald Trump. and his own fragile ego. But I'll leave you with one last thing. Words from Leviticus 19:4. Do not turn. to idols or make metal gods for. yourselves. Perhaps someone should let. this guy and his cult following down in.
Florida know that while using their. Christianity as a shield, they're the. ones undermining it. Before you go, I'm very excited to. announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to Wield Power. in a Post-Trump World. The book explores. what is, in my opinion, the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward. Power. Specifically, how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got. here and more importantly, how we should. finally wield power if we're lucky.
enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo. Please pre-order today by following. the link on this screen.
