OMG: Trump makes INSANE announcement

In a move that even Donald Trump won't. be able to spin, he just took to Truth. Social with the following announcement, "The United States is the largest oil. producer in the world by far, so when. oil prices go up, we make a lot of. money. But, of far greater interest and. importance to me as president is. stopping an evil empire Iran from having. nuclear weapons and destroying the. Middle East and indeed the world. I. won't ever let that happen. Thank you. for your attention to this matter, President Donald J. Trump." In other. words, actually high gas prices are a. good thing. How's that for a midterm.

message? Do you all feel rich and. accomplished now that we're all paying. more for gas? Do you believe Donald. Trump when he says that this is a great. thing? Also, notice how Trump says, "We. make a lot of money." Quick question, who is we? Because I'm not making money. from high gas prices. I'm assuming. you're not making a lot of money from. high gas prices. We're all spending more. money from high gas prices. The we here. are his rich donors and oil company. CEOs. That is the team he's on, not our.

team, their team. His audience for his. posts and his announcements is not us, it's them. That's who he's talking to. He cosplayed as a populist, this. working-class champion, but rest. assured, he is the very elite that he. spent so much time railing against. during the campaign. The reality is that. we are left footing the bill while. Donald Trump and his pals rake in more. cash, per usual. Patrick DeHaan, one of. the foremost petroleum analyst experts. in the country, wrote, "Americans today.

will spend roughly 250 million more on. gasoline than they did 30 days ago. That's over 1.5 billion dollars per. week. That right there is the Trump gas. tax, a tax that Americans are forced to. pay because one man, Donald Trump, decided that we should embroil ourselves. in another war in the Middle East.". Which is super weird because I'm not. going to start a war, I'm going to stop. wars. No more wars, no more disruptions, We. will have prosperity and we will have.

peace. Under Trump, we will have no more. wars, no more disruptions, and we will. have prosperity and peace for all. I am. the candidate of peace. I am peace. Then. again, he also said this. I will unleash. energy independence and we will bring. the price of gasoline down immediately. So, we're going to get your gas prices. down. >> And we will, ready? Drill, baby, drill. >> [cheering]. >> Going to get your energy well way down. You're going to spend a lot less money.

for your. for your gasoline. You have that special. stuff. We will unleash American energy. and bring prices way down fast. So, it. looks like his entire presidency is a. graveyard of broken promises. Now, I. want to make sure that I have all of. this correct. Donald Trump spent every. day vowing to lower gas prices if he. became president. He also vowed that the. era of forever wars in the Middle East. would be over. So, he wins the election, he immediately launches a new war in the. Middle East, which in turn causes oil. prices to spike to levels not seen in. years. Oil's now nearly a hundred.

dollars a barrel. The Wall Street. Journal, owned by Rupert Murdoch, not. exactly some crunchy liberal, has called. this the quote most severe energy crisis. since the 1970s. All of which would be. bad enough on its own. But remember, this is all an unforced error. This. didn't have to happen. Even the Trump. administration itself concedes that no. attack on the United States was in the. works. No attack was imminent. Which. means that Donald Trump just made the. voluntary choice to plunge us into a war. and usher in an energy crisis that.

otherwise, had he not acted, simply. would have been avoided. I've said in. the past that presidents are generally. not responsible for high gas prices or. low gas prices. Like, for example, when. gas prices rose under Joe Biden, it was. the result of a combination of external. factors. Um the post-pandemic demand. surge after the economy finally. reopened, uh global inflation, which. increased the overall cost of fuel, and. Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which. tightened the global oil supply. Would. those have been different under a. different president? Unlikely. So, Biden.

took the blame regardless because. presidents take the blame. But, the. reality is that he had essentially no. impact one way or the other. Just like, again, presidents rarely impact the. actual price of oil. But, this is a rare. occasion where high gas prices are. actually the direct result of a. president's actions. Without Donald. Trump, this would not have happened. It. only happened because Trump decided that. he wanted it to. Oil prices spiking is. the fault of one person and one person. alone. So, I get that he wants to frame.

this as a win, but good luck convincing. Americans that high gas prices is a good. thing, or worse, our patriotic duty. Which is normally the kind of thing that. Republicans have a short fuse for. After. all, these people are straight-up. willing to sacrifice the global climate. if it means they can fill up their tank. for a few bucks less. And yet, shockingly, they've now taken quite the. forgiving position here. This is a. short-term disruption for the long-term. gain. Short-term pain for the long-term. gain. Short-term pain be for long-term.

gain. >> We're going to have some short-term pain. uh with long-term gain. Short-term pay. for a long-term gain. >> Some short-term pain, yes, but we've got. some long-term gain. Short-term spike. for a long-term gain. Some short-term. pain for American consumers. We may have. to deal with that in the short-term. >> Short-term and temporary. Temporary. short-term pain. >> It's going to suck in the short-term. Some short-term pain. Short-term pain. We have to focus on the short-term. Short-term. Short-term. Short-term.

Short-term and long-term. Short-term. that Hopefully, this is a short-term. pain. Short-term is highly outweighed of. the long-term benefits. >> Some short-term pain for the long-term. gain. Short-term sacrifice for a. long-term gain. Short-term pain for. long-term gain. This coming from the. political party that called Democrats. Nazis for asking people to wear a mask. for a couple of weeks to stop a global. pandemic. I mean, my God, you would. think that epidemiologists asked. everybody to give up their arms. They.

vilified Dr. Fauci and continue to do so. to this day. And now those same people. watched Donald Trump break all of his. promises and unilaterally plunge us into. a war he promised he wouldn't do and. usher in the high gas prices that he. promised would go down. And as the. result of all of that, they're asking. for grace? It would almost be funny if. it wasn't so incredibly hypocritical. Speaking of COVID, there's another. comparison that we can draw here. While. Trump predicts now that, quote, short-term oil prices will drop rapidly,

only fools would think differently. Think back to what Trump said in 2020. after the first COVID case hit. Quote, we have it totally under control. It's. one person coming in from China and we. have it under control. It's going to be. just fine. And then a million people. died. Which is to say, I'm not exactly. sure Donald Trump is your guy when it. comes to predicting the future, especially when it's his government that. will determine what the future actually. looks like. The reality is that Donald Trump. breaking his promise on lower gas prices. is a feature, not a bug of this.

administration. You can add that to the. long and growing list of broken promises. at the hands of a president who has made. a habit of stringing his supporters. along for the entirety of his political. career. In his first term, Trump promised an. infrastructure law that never. materialized, a healthcare plan that was. cheaper and more comprehensive that. never materialized, a middle-class tax. cut that never materialized, a jobs boom. that never materialized, a manufacturing. renaissance that never materialized. Then in this term, he did the same. thing, promising reduced costs and. cheaper groceries, lower rents, lower.

housing, justice when it comes to. Epstein's victims, accountability for. his criminal associates, but he's not. delivering on any of those things. The. only thing he's actually done in both. terms is give a tax cut to himself and. his rich friends. I I don't know how to. make this any clearer. He does not give. a about you. He never did. He just. says words that people want to hear, but. he never delivers. His entire. presidency, again, is a graveyard of. broken promises. He didn't end the. Russia-Ukraine war, didn't lower prices.

on day one, didn't bring down inflation, didn't release the Epstein files, didn't. usher in a manufacturing renaissance, and guess what? He won't because those. are just things he said to get your. votes. And now that he's got them, he. doesn't need you anymore. Now it's about. him. Now it's about his legacy. It's. about his headlines. His presidency. isn't about serving anyone other than. himself. And at this point, it is all. but impossible not to recognize that. And look, there will of course be those. who opt to believe Donald Trump, and if. you want to be fooled for the millionth.

time, that's your prerogative. But for. those die-hard Trump supporters out. there, I just have one request. Think. about the point of putting this guy in. office. Was it for you to sacrifice for. him, or for him to work for you? Because. thus far, the sacrifices here have only. gone in one direction. His net worth is. $4 billion higher. $4 billion higher. And you're stuck with gas prices that. are rising faster than ever before in. living memory. And he wants you to think. that that's a good thing, a patriotic. thing. If you want a king who demands.

slavish devotion to him, that's what. you've got. But if you want someone. who's going to hold true to his word, not to forget the little guy, then you. might want to take a long, hard look in. the mirror and ask yourself if that's. what we have right now.
