OMG: MUST-SEE update as Trump goes to Knicks-Spurs Game 3 | Another Day
The president attends game three of the. NBA finals in New York because wherever. there's joy, Trump will do his level. best to remove as much of it as he can. This is just another day. >> [music]. >> It is a thrilling time to be a New York. Knicks fan right now. Unless of course. you live in New York City. >> And getting into the world's most famous. arena tonight is going to be a bit. different. You can expect to see a lot. of police presence, stricter policies, and no watch party outside. >> be one of the world's biggest. inconvenience. This morning, the NYPD.
and the Secret Service outlining their. security plan for President Trump's. presence at tonight's game three. >> Well, you know what they say about New. York City. If you can make it there, you. can expect Donald Trump to ruin it. Yes, as a result of never seeing a moment he. couldn't make about himself, the. president of the United States has. chosen to launch his own Manhattan. project by attending tonight's Knicks. game at Madison Square Garden. Now, to. be fair, I understand why he'd want to. do this. When you see a sporting event. that allows you to apply only one extra. color of paint to your face, you want to.
jump on it immediately. But that feels. like a pretty small win compared to the. pretty big losses that New Yorkers are. experiencing. >> Tonight will also bring a major. presidential visit to Madison Square. Garden. As you know by now, because of. that visit and in coordination with the. United States Secret Service, there will. unfortunately be no watch party outside. of Madison Square Garden for game three. of the finals and no access to the. immediate vicinity of MSG without an. authorized reason to be there. >> Put aside what's happening inside the.
arena, Donald Trump's New York visit is. things up for people outside the. garden, too. Even the rats are getting. screwed on this deal. I mean, what fun. is dragging a bagel across electrified. subway tracks if you can't talk about. how many points Brunson put up? But. torpedoing watch parties isn't the only. grift Trump has bestowed upon New York. Knicks fans. >> So, this is a really high-level security. event. Tell us about like what. precautions are being taken on the. ground in New York around Madison Square. Garden? >> Absolutely high security. We're talking.
about enhanced security going into. tonight's game. Uh we're the Knicks have. already told folks, as you mentioned, to. arrive 2 hours early uh before tip-off, so you make sure you can get into your. seats. >> Yep, thanks to Donald Trump, the. experience of going to tonight's game. has become akin to going to the airport. Except, at this point, thanks to his war. in Iran, an NBA Finals ticket might. actually be cheaper than a flight on. United. For perspective, this is not a. normal occurrence for occupants of the. Oval Office. >> President Trump is set to attend, making.
him the first sitting president to. attend the NBA Finals. >> The first sitting president to attend. Look, everyone knows post-presidency. Woodrow Wilson had floor seats to the. Lakers next to Nicholson, but not a. single sitting president had the. audacity to ruin the NBA Finals. experience for the fans. And I can think. of one basketball enthusiast who easily. could have. There's honestly no reason for the. president to be going to tonight's game. >> He probably would have got a warmer. reception if he had gone to San Antonio.
for one of the Spurs games over the past. few days, but it'll be interesting to. see if they put him on the big screen. tonight, what kind of reception he gets. along with, you know, your Timothy. Chalamains, Ben Stiller, and Fat Joe, who looks like he's lost a significant. amount of weight, I found out while. watching him at the Spurs game. >> Okay, that was a fun little detour. Word. is, along with the current president, rapper Lil Dicky will also be in. attendance tonight, who, as it turns. out, actually has a very impressive size. penis.
Well, I guess Donald Trump has no choice. but to go to the garden, because they're. not playing the game on TV, or on the. inside of his eyelids, or projecting it. onto his daughter's body. Being there in. person is the only way he could possibly. watch what happens. Or, to look at this. just another way, this is just a fan. doing what a fan does. >> He loves sports. >> He has for a very long time. >> Yeah. >> UFC championships in Newark, New Jersey. near where I live. US Open championships. as far as tennis right here in New York. as well. So, many of these events have. been in New York. He went to the Ryder.
Cup in New York as well. >> And he went to the soccer games by the. way as well, the FIFA. >> FIFA at East Rutherford, New Jersey. That's right. >> That's right. >> Yes, it's almost as though Donald Trump. prioritizes the wrong things during his. presidency. This president may like attending. sporting events, but let's stop. pretending that he gives two shits about. New Yorkers. This is a guy who has. plenty of cash to raise his family in an. apartment in the city, one that included. a whole floor for his son to casually. graze the rugs on his pet lion, and yet. he chose to depart for less liberal.
pastures. He chose Times Square as his. literal dumping ground for in his. AI post about the No Kings protest. Oh, and there was also this gem. >> where I could stand in the middle of 5th. Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't. lose any voters, okay? It's like. incredible. >> Yes, what a funny observation. It's a. good thing Trump doesn't have his own. late night show cuz that type of. un-American rhetoric could get him in. trouble with his own FCC. But when it comes to Donald Trump's. affection for New Yorkers, the feeling.
is clearly mutual. You hear that? That is not supposed to. be aimed at the commander-in-chief. That's a chant usually reserved for. Eagles fans. The reality is the only. reason Donald Trump is attending this. game is because he needs everything to. be about him. Dude has renamed the. Kennedy Center after himself, his face. is all over government buildings, he's.
putting himself on our passports, and. he's trying to circumvent the law to get. his face on our cash. The only plus side. on that one is, thanks to Trump, Americans won't have to see it that. often cuz his policies are depriving us. of more and more money. When Donald Trump gets booed tonight, and he most certainly will get booed. tonight. He will use it as just another. excuse to play the victim card. But in. the event some cheaters actually come. his way, he'll use that as proof that. he's even beloved by woke New York. sports fans, because that's all. tonight's game is to him. Another.
opportunity for our poor, innocent, attention-starved commander-in-chief to. finally stop being ignored by the press. And why should we expect anything less. from the guy? If there is a chance for. Donald Trump to be rewarded by. inconveniencing us, he will jump at it. every time. Americans don't get. affordable health care, food assistance, or cancer research, but he sure gets his. $4 billion by exploiting the presidency. But there's also a startling dichotomy. here, and that is the one highlighting. the difference between a man who cheats.
his way through life and men who have. worked their asses off for everything. they've got. Honestly, if there is one. activity you think Donald Trump would. find abhorrent, it is a sport where the. when the game ends, you can't relitigate. the score. In basketball, you don't get. to complain about mystery points thrown. into the dumpster by liberal referees or. fraudulent mail-in points secretly added. to the scoreboard. There is no. high-level agency tasked with seizing. scorecards to prove to their fans that. the outcome the whole world witnessed.
didn't actually happen. Nope. The only. path to victory for these teams is. through blood, sweat, and tears. Because. you know what happens if the Spurs lose. but spend the next 4 years claiming they. won? They become a joke, ostracized by society and dubbed. pathetic whiny little unable to. grapple with the harsh reality that when. the numbers came in, theirs was smaller. than their opponents. Donald Trump is a liar and a cheat, and. he can attend as many Knicks games as he. wants and heap as much fake praise onto.
his abandoned hometown as he pleases, but there will always be one undeniable. truth. >> We hate you! >> Exactly. >> [music]. >> Before you go, I'm very excited to. announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to wield power. in a post-Trump world. The book explores. what is, in my opinion, the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward: power. Specifically, how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got.
here and more importantly, how we should. finally wield power if we're fortunate. enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo. Please pre-order today by visiting. the link in the episode description or. go to briantylercohen.com/book. You can grab yours from any of the major. retailers like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. or find an independent bookstore closest. to you. That's also listed on that. website. Thanks so much for supporting. independent media.
