NEW Lauren Boebert SEX SCANDAL surges into spotlight

Some alleged news here about the already. sex plagued congresswoman from Colorado. According to the Colorado Times. reporter, a sworn ethics complaint filed. yesterday with the US House Committee on. ethics alleges that representative. Lauren Boebert engaged in sexual. relationships with three House employees. under her direct supervision in. violation of the House rules adopted. after the Me Too reckoning that flatly. prohibits members from sleeping with. their own staff. The complaint filed by. American Muckrakers David Wheeler under. penalty of perjury names three current. and former senior aides including. Clarice Navarro, Boebert's district.

director from January 2021 to January. 2025. The centerpiece is the alleged. relationship with Navarro, a former. Colorado state representative and Trump. USDA appointee who ran Boebert's. district operation for four years. The. complaint also asserts that Boebert. arranged a $200,000 payment to Navarro. to prevent her from filing her own. ethics complaint. Boebert responded to. the allegations by saying, "Well, I'm. not a lesbian or bisexual and I have. never ever been in any inappropriate. relationship nor have I ever been. sexually involved with any staff.".

Now, in fairness, there are real. credibility questions on both sides here. that deserve mention. First, Navarro has. flatly and completely denied this. telling reporters, "These allegations. regarding me are entirely false, defamatory, and beyond ridiculous. There. is absolutely no truth to any part of. this claim." And it's worth noting that. David Wheeler, the source behind this. complaint, has a spotty track record. when it comes to Boebert specifically. Back in 2022, he launched a website. claiming Boebert had worked as a paid. escort which included using a photo of a. completely different woman, an error.

that he later admitted was sloppy though. he stood behind the underlying claim. That situation eventually turned into a. defamation lawsuit that he filed against. Boebert over her public threats to sue. him which quietly settled under. undisclosed terms. So, this is a. complaint filed under oath which carries. real legal weight and real legal risk. for Wheeler if it's knowingly false, but. it's also coming from someone who's made. unverified claims about her in in past. Both of those facts matter and I presume. that this is going to be litigated. further in the coming months. But,

here's why I still think this is worth. talking about, regardless of how this. particular complaint resolves. This is. not the first time that Lauren Boebert's. alleged personal conduct has become a. public scandal. Most people remember the. incident at a Denver theater in 2023. when she was kicked out of a performance. of Beetlejuice after groping her date to. the point where security had to. intervene.

That entire episode became national news. in no small part because Boebert had. spent years building this brand as a. hardline, Bible-quoting, family values. conservative only to then get escorted. out of a public theater because she. couldn't not give a hand job to her. date. So, whether or not this specific. complaint holds up, you've got a. congresswoman with a documented pattern. of her private conduct colliding with. her public moralizing political brand.

And the reason for that is clear. These. people say what they have to say to get. elected. They build these brands. claiming moral high ground, but the. moment they get power, the real them. comes out. Lauren Boebert isn't some. virtuous figure any more than Donald. Trump is. These people don't run for. office because they want to fix health. care, or fix the economy, or actually. represent the people who elect them. They ran because political power is an. incredibly efficient tool for helping. themselves, financially, sexually, socially, whatever form of personal. benefit they're chasing. Look at the. recurring theme within the MAGA movement.

since Trump took office. Republicans. using their office to enrich their own. portfolios through insider knowledge, politicians steering government. contracts to their own business partners. or children, politicians allegedly using. taxpayer-funded staff positions as a. captive dating pool with zero. accountability because who's going to. discipline them? These Republicans ran. expressly on a platform of fighting. against the scourge of powerful elites. acting with impunity, instead they are. absolutely drowning in it. That's the. actual scandal here. A huge chunk of the. people governing this country have.

figured out that public office is one of. the most effective vehicles in America. for private personal gain with. shockingly little oversight attached to. it. The House Ethics process that's. supposed to hold members accountable. moves at a glacial pace, often produces. no consequences even when violations are. found, and relies on the same. self-policing structure that let. Congress become one of the most insider. trading friendly workplaces in America. So, when you hear about an ethics. complaint like this one, don't just. process it as one lawmaker's personal. drama. Process it as one more data point.

in a much bigger story. A governing. class that keeps using their positions. of power to act corruptly with impunity. while the actual business of. representing their constituents'. interests, the reason any of these. offices exist in the first place, gets. treated as an afterthought to their own. self-interest. Boebert's team sent out a statement. today touting nearly $15 million worth.

of infrastructure projects. 10 of those. projects were earmarked in a funding. bill passed last month that she voted. yes on. $3 million worth of projects. were in a funding bill signed by. President Trump yesterday. And Boebert. was the only Colorado Republican to vote. against that funding package. She said. it didn't include enough funding for. ICE. The bill passed really narrowly, 217 to. 214. I have asked Boebert about this in the. past, taking credit for local projects. that she votes against. >> Were the deciding vote,

would you still have voted no and killed. all of those projects in Colorado that. you now take credit for? >> Yes, and I would have worked to work. through our social I would have worked. through our process to get those over. the line, but I worked to get those in. and I have had over 80 initiatives. signed into law through the. appropriations process and I have worked. to get those signed. >> So, Boebert has gone on to say that she. prefers that these projects be broken up. and voted on individually, but that's not been a hard and fast rule. to earn her vote in this session. >> So, look, regardless of how the House.

Ethics Committee handles Boebert's case. specifically, that's the conversation. this story should actually be pushing us. toward. It's not just did she do it, but. why our system makes it this easy and. this consequence-free for people in. power like Lauren Boebert to spend that. power on themselves instead of on us.
