Message from Brian Tyler Cohen

A little bit of a different video here, and I'm promising here I'm going to keep. this one short if I can have just a. couple minutes of your time. So, first. off, a heartfelt thank you for bearing. with me these last few weeks in the. lead-up and release of my new book, The. Day After. I've asked a lot of you these. past few weeks to pre-order the book, to. help promote it, and of course to. contend with the barrage of. self-promotion. I'm not going to keep. doing that indefinitely because at some. point it starts feeling like noise, and. that's not what you subscribed for. So, today's going to be my final ask, and. here's why. Today, Saturday, marks the.

official end of the first week of sales. and the end of the first week that The. New York Times uses for its best-seller. list compilation. Um, a book's best shot at hitting the. best-seller list is on week one because. that's when all of the pre-orders plus. the first week of sales are counted, they're counted together. The list. really shouldn't matter, but as an. English major and an author and someone. who has written all of his own scripts. for about 8,000 videos, of course it's. important to me. But, that's not why I. wrote this book, and it's not why I'll. continue to advocate for its message. long after any list is published. I have.

dedicated my life to doing whatever I. can to ensure that we can see a. progressive agenda enacted. When the. left's biggest shortfall was its. unwillingness to support independent. media on the left, I used my platform to. advocate for it relentlessly. I wrote. the book Shameless, which advocated for. Democrats to start paying attention to. independent media, and now they are, thank God. It took losing an entire. election, but now they see the. importance. But, I spent years. advocating for it, pushing for it. Now, this moment calls for Democrats who are. willing to fight to achieve our goals,

who will not defer to norms and. traditions and institutions and process, but rather focus on outcomes, on. delivering, who will remember that the. point of being in government is not to. protect processes of government, but. rather to deliver for people, for the. voters. So, I'm using my platform and. this book to advocate for that. So, here's my very, very humble ask. If you. haven't yet ordered the book, now is the. time, while it's still fresh and still. being talked about. If you already have, thank you genuinely. And if you're. willing, uh.

a copy for somebody else in your life or. a quick review or just telling one. person who hasn't heard about it, all of. that helps more than you think.
