Melania makes SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT at White House | Another Day

Today, Melania made a high-profile visit. to the White House, which I'm sure had. absolutely nothing to do with a certain. someone's now very public obsession with. her husband. But if you can. believe it, this week the press got its. hands on some letters that made all my. gushing over the muscles from Brussels.

seem positively tame by comparison. >> For the first time, some of the deeply. personal letters written by President. Donald Trump's close aide Natalie Harp. are being published in full. >> Right. Natalie Harp, the close personal. aide to Donald Trump, often pictured. gazing at him adoringly like his. ramblings don't sound like a telltale. sign of someone having a stroke. So, what totally normal stuff did this. 35-year-old personal assistant have to. say to her geriatric boss? >> I never want to bring you anything but. joy. I'm sorry I lost my focus. You are.

Most people come in early and. clock out late, maybe hit up a Starbucks. before work so you can bring the boss's. favorite toasted coconut cream cold. brew, but pledging fealty like a soldier. to ISIS apparently works, too. Natalie Harp has been in the public eye. for more than a week now since it came. out that Donald Trump brought her along. during his now infamous airplane shell.

game while leaving the press corps and. much of his own staff back on Air Force. One as assassin bait. And remind me, why. did he do that? >> I can guess why Natalie Harp and. Walt Nauta and Dan Scavino were with. him. Natalie Harp because she is sort of. his his binky for lack of a better way. of putting it. A comfort blanket. >> Um. Harp's presence is comforting and. essential to Trump, and the feeling. appears to be mutual. Because in her. newly published letters, she went on to. write this. >> Please, when I fail, will you tell me? out? You know, Natalie, Trump's not. really a stickler for consent. Still, I'm sure he appreciates it. I'm sorry, but can we just be real here? These letters are crazy. She. writes things like, "It is I who is. unworthy, and I envy women whose only. job seems to be to talk to you and look. pretty. I want that job." These are like. notes a 13-year-old writes to her much. older, emotionally abusive boyfriend. Honestly, they make the stain on Monica. Lewinsky's dress seem dignified. And.

actually, they're not the only. concerning detail about Natalie Harp. that's recently come to light. >> The real concern is that she, for a. year, according to our reporting at MS. Now, did not have a security clearance, and was literally at the right hand of. the president everywhere he went, listening to classified information, looking at documents, didn't have a. security clearance until the Secret. Service finally forced it on her and got. the president to intervene. >> What is she hiding that she didn't want. to fill this out for almost a year? Like, what relationships did she have?

What was her concern? >> Hmm. Uh I have a guess. If I'd written the. president letters that sounded like the. lyrics to Eminem's Stan, I wouldn't want. the Secret Service reading them, either. And some people in the media find this. genuinely troubling. >> I have some questions that have been. bothering me about this story. One, the. fact that Natalie Harp twice refused, declined, I believe was the word, to. fill out the paperwork necessary for her. security clearance. I have never heard. of a White House staffer declining to.

fill out that paperwork. And to the fact. that the President of the United States, who is currently waging a war of choice. with Iran, had to take time out of his. daily schedule to tell his own aid, "Hey, you have to fill out the paperwork. in order to get the security clearance. necessary.". >> Okay, honestly, that last part doesn't. really bother me. Like, what do we. really think that his daily schedule. entails? Yes, it should entail figuring. out how to end the pointless war he. started and doing something about the.

crippling, ever-inflating amount of. money it costs to live in America, but does it really? Or is it just a lot of cat naps and. solid gold fidget spinners? Still, as. creepy as Natalie Harp's letters are, according to her estranged brother, they're just par for the course. >> I'd say since she was like 16, she's had. an obsession with with um. Gosh, how do I explain this?

Um. She's written letters to other. presidents. Let me put it that way. Um. And so, like, her dream came true. finally. >> Oh, interesting. talking about Natalie Harp in the first. place was because of one drive-by from. Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff last week. >> So he doesn't want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and. travel with Natalie on their apparently. defenseless flying palace. >> Now, you could certainly make the. argument that Ossoff knows he's. insinuating that an attractive woman is. only in her position because the boss. wants to sleep with her, but instead of. letting Ossoff hang himself with his own. words, Trump lost his This is how.

the administration responded to a. reporter after she asked him about. Ossoff's comment. The White House rapid. response team tweeted, "Someday your. children will come across your. disgusting and inhumane question. They. will be sickened and embarrassed to have. a parent be so callous and vindictive. It is quite troubling." Wow, that. question must have been really, really. bad. Can we actually hear that. disgusting and inhumane question for. ourselves? >> Senator Ossoff said you'd rather travel. with your aide, Natalie Harp, and build.

the ballroom than do your job as. president. What is your response John. Ossoff? >> You mean Pee-wee Herman? Pee-wee Herman look-alike? >> Uh, that was the question that merited. this response? Look, Trump, I know it. doesn't feel good when someone insults a. woman that you care about, but if your. response is disproportionate and batshit. insane, that's all anyone is going to. remember. Jon Ossoff, who's running for Senate in. Georgia, took time today to be a sexist, arrogant. I don't know how else to say it. >> I think he should have left her alone. >> It's disgusting. Not all men have been accused. by over two dozen women of sexual. assault or ordered to pay millions of. dollars to one of your victims by the. Supreme Court or openly admitted to.

House wasn't already doth protesting too. much yesterday, they trotted out Melania. for the first time in months for no. apparent reason but to remind the public. that Donald Trump has a living, breathing wife. >> Good afternoon. this spectacle has really taught us, besides the fact that Natalie Harp. sleeps with a doll woven from the. president's flaxen hair? It's that when. Republicans want to speak up about. something, they speak up. When they care. about something, they let us know. The. cavalcade of voices outraged about how. people are treating Natalie Harp could. have just as easily been a cavalcade of. voices decrying rising health care costs. or gas prices or the fact that many. Americans can't pay their rent or their. student loans or sometimes even their.

grocery bills. But it's not. And you. know why? Because they don't care. When. it comes to the real hardships facing. Americans, Republicans stay silent. But. when they have the chance to manufacture. righteous indignation to distract from. all of the ways they're failing us, guess what they say? >> Good afternoon.
