MAJOR UPDATE on Trump’s press ban | Another Day

Donald Trump goes to war with America's. journalists. Hell, who needs that first. amendment anyway? This is just another. day. [music]. Donald Trump has now officially banned. CNN, Politico, and MS Now from the White. House for what he says is totally biased. coverage. And if I know the media, I bet. they're just going to roll over and. settle with Trump just to appease him. >> Three media outlets, CNN, Politico, and. MS Now, are suing the Trump. administration after being banned from. the White House. The lawsuit reads in. part, quote, "This ban could not be a.

more direct assault on the First. Amendment, nor a more blatant violation. of our most fundamental constitutional. principles.". >> The Fox News bureau here in Washington. DC, which is the current chair of the TV. pool, put out a statement this morning. saying, "This is to advise that. effective today, the TV pool will not be. covering events designated as pool. coverage of the president.". >> Holy Even Fox News is fighting. back. It's only a matter of time before. their morning show becomes Fox and. Acquaintances. So unlike ABC, which.

coughed up $15 million to Trump, and. CBS's 60 Minutes, which did the same to. the tune of 16 million, turns out other. members of the press actually have. something of a spine. Having the entire. press pool take a stand against this. White House, is a monumental show of. unity from America's media outlets. And. in case you're not clear on what that. press pool actually is, take a listen. >> The TV pool is something that's been. around for decades. Basically, it's the. five major networks taking turns on a. rotation to cover the president when.

he's in tight spaces that wouldn't. accommodate an entire um uh uh uh press. uh assortment. And so, when he's in the. Oval Office, when he's on Air Force One, when he's in a motorcade, you have an. assigned TV pool. >> Basically, if there's a space so tight. that Natalie Harp has to ride in the. trunk of Trump's car, that is what the. press pool is for. But come on. So what. if the press pool can't cover the. president? I mean, how much of an effect. can that really have?

>> Yeah. There. Okay. So, there is no microphone because. there's no microphone because the pool. cameras aren't there. So maybe uh Tim, this is one example of it backfiring. just a little bit. >> Yes, I'd say that when the voice of the. president of the United States has been. reduced to the equivalent of bees.

buzzing, his actions may have just backfired a. smidge. But as you'd expect, members of. the Trump administration who aren't the. president were asked to defend this. assault on America's First Amendment. rights. >> How is how is this going to play out. with this ban of of and and what do you. think of it? But. even if the Treasury Secretary isn't up. to date on the specifics of Donald. Trump's press ban, that doesn't mean. that he doesn't have his own specific.

complaints about the press. >> Some of these reporters, they they just. don't do their job well. We'll have. something and then that they'll ask some. crazy question. We'll have something and. they'll ask some crazy question. And. look, I feel that when you've got uber. smart people like Scott Besson who are. forced to contend with reporter. stupidity. other secretary of the Treasury to. explain it to you. Any other members of. the White House want to add a little. color to this discussion? Mr. president. So CNN, MS Now, and Politico are now. suing over the ban. Do you think it's. appropriate for the president to be. banning media outlets just because he. doesn't like what they report? >> Well, I take some issue with the. premise. So he's not banning media. outlets. What he's doing is saying, "We're not going to give you special. access to the White House if you engage. in what is effectively propaganda." So. if you're going to engage in what is. effectively far-left propaganda, why.

would a Republican White House give you. special access? >> That's right. The only people that. should be given special access to the. White House are those media outlets who. don't engage in propaganda. So, while. many biased news organizations have. banded together, America can rest easy. knowing that we'll still have the fair. and balanced coverage from outlets like. Lindell TV. >> Is there any more information on the. special prosecutor? So many Americans. still have questions about the 2020. election. And speaking of rogue judges, uh would you consider appointing. somebody at DOJ maybe to investigate the.

judges that allowed for the political. persecution of you, your family, and. your supporters during the Biden. administration? >> I love you. look like such a lying sack of But. just because the press pool is refusing. to cover this White House, that doesn't. mean that Americans are completely cut. off from news about the Trump. administration. And it's all thanks to. the White House app. As the White House. itself tweeted today, get real-time. updates and live events streamed. directly to your phone. No noise, just. the news that matters most, straight. from the Trump administration. And. honestly, I love this idea because now, just like other apps, Americans can find. out in real time when their low gas.

prices, their affordable healthcare, and. their $5,000 dividend check will finally. be arriving at their doorsteps. But just. to illustrate the importance of a free. press, as luck would have it, some. journalists took a quick glance at the. news being posted on this White House. app, and there were just a few small. discrepancies. Under the accomplishments. section, they tout the average gas price. in America as $2.91 and the inflation. rate as being down 2.4%. The only. problem is those stats are from 7 months. ago before the war in Iran. Sorry, but.

you can't tout your before actions when. your afteractions have had an effect. That's like Harvey Weinstein claiming. what he's most known for now is. producing movies. But apparently the. White House app wasn't doing enough to. get the truth out there because only. hours later the administration posted. that it was launching Trump TV. >> If you're up late with us on the West. Coast, Donald Trump is on the verge of. returning to the White [music] House at. this hour. >> What you are seeing is Donald Trump on. the precipice of the [music] greatest.

comeback in American political history. We've never seen anything like this. >> Here he is risen from the ashes yet. again. [cheering]. The Fox News decision desk can now. officially project that Donald Trump. will become the 47th president of the. United States. So, the party that keeps. warning that communists are going to. take over America has just launched. their very own state TV station. I hope. someone is dusting off their resume. The.

reality is at some point very soon, Donald Trump will drop this assault on. our First Amendment and claim that he. was somehow victorious in our war. against America's journalists. And not. just because the only thing he hates. more than getting turned down by his. daughter is getting turned down by the. media, but also because he knows that. this makes him look weak. If the. president of the United States can't. handle a few tough questions in an. environment that he controls, why would. Americans have faith that he could. handle anything? Asking tough questions. and holding government officials to. account isn't a sign of bias or fake. news. It's a sign that our democracy is.

working like it's supposed to. As much. as this White House wants to portray the. press banding together as some attack on. them, what it really is is an attack on. anyone trying to destroy our freedoms, regardless of party, it is the job of. journalists to collectively reveal the. truth and expose falsehood so America. can be a more informed republic. Donald. Trump's entire press ban was predicated. on this idea that once someone. intentionally fabricates the truth, no. matter who they are, those people no. longer deserve access to the White. House, which I hate to say could spell.

trouble for these folks. >> They took razors and they started. cutting this, you know, very expensive. stuff. >> We caught some people uh vandalizing our. beautiful reflecting pool. >> I wouldn't call it a war.
