🚨 MAJOR UPDATE on Pete Hegseth IMPEACHMENT | Another Day
Mike Johnson sends Congress home early. to avoid a vote to impeach Pete. Hegathth. Finally, a leader who's. willing to fight for this country by. running away. This is just another day. [music]. As many of you know, the Republican le. House of Representatives previously. called off work for the last two weeks. of September, which means this week's. work is all the more crucial. >> Once again, Congress is headed home. early. the House has canceled tomorrow's. votes, which means after today they will. not be back in Washington until after.
election day. >> or not. And what a shame for these. Republican members of Congress who were. so eager to get back to work, especially. Mitch McConnell. I mean, just look at. that guy. As soon as somebody tells him. where he is and what his name is, he is. getting right down to business. But what. could be the speaker's reasoning behind. this truncated work week after an. already truncated work month? The reason. for this may have something to do with. avoiding a vote on Republican. Congressman Thomas Massiey's resolution. to impeach defense secretary Pete Hgsth.
The House is expected to move on a. resolution brought by Thomas Massie. Of. course, he's the Republican from. Kentucky to try and impeach defense. secretary Pete Hgsth. The way that. things work in the House procedurally, Massie is able to force a vote on this. legislation. So, even if leadership. doesn't want to have it, now they do. This is so pathetic. Mike Johnson, the. speaker of the House of Representatives, is shuttering Congress's doors early. because he knows a vote to impeach Pete. Hexath would sail through his chamber,
which is a lot like avoiding your. girlfriend in high school because if she. can't see you, then she can't break up. with you. So, I've heard. But maybe there's an. entirely different side to this whole. early vacation story. >> Morning everybody. Um, I'm going to give. you a little update. We're going to. modify the the uh house schedule by a. day. Uh, and let me explain to you why. The House has done its work. Um, you've. seen the statistics. We've been talking. about it for the last few days. Uh, this. this House has been the second most.
productive in terms of legislation in. the history of the institution since. 1789. Uh, it's time for our members to. go home to their districts and make. their case to the American people to go. and explain all the great things we've. done. You've seen the the record. You've. seen what we've delivered. >> Seen what you've delivered. Mike Johnson. is like an Uber Eatats guy waiting for a. tip after delivering you an empty bag. Under Mike Johnson's leadership, the. only thing this GOPled Congress has done. is hand over the entirety of their power. to the executive branch. How can he.
possibly defend this sudden adjournment. as anything more than a blatant attempt. to protect dear leader from suffering. yet another embarrassing defeat? >> Effort to avoid the hex impeachment. vote. >> Oh, let me talk about the impeachment. vote. That's ridiculous. It's a. publicity stunt by someone who wants. attention. It's It's a stunt. >> I'm sorry, but Massie introducing a. resolution to impeach a man who helped. deploy the US military into a. never-ending war without congressional. approval is not a stunt. And if it was, that was one pretty boring stunt. Hell,
he didn't even wear the proper outfit. But honestly, where on earth would Mike. Johnson get the idea that he can just. close up shop early to avoid an. embarrassing vote? >> The House of Representatives is starting. its summer [music] recess early today. A. move made by Republican leaders to avoid. a vote on the Epstein files. >> Ah, turns out Mike Johnson learned it. from Mike Johnson. That's right. Fleeing. to avoid accountability is basically. Mike Johnson's bread and butter. It's. why so many people call him the OJ of. Congress. They also call him the Jo of. Congress, but that's because he's.
constantly jerking off to porn and. notifying his son about it. Now, to be. fair, while this war in Iran, I mean. skirmish, I mean incursion, I mean. excursion, hasn't exactly gone as. planned, does that really warrant. articles of impeachment for our. Secretary of Defense? In fact, I'd. challenge anyone to show me a recent. example of our fearless leader Pete. Hegth doing anything less than an. exemplary job. Well, according to the. Wall Street Journal tonight, he says. Pentagon is focused on finding troops. who embody the secretary's specific.
brand of masculinity to serve as the. backdrop for his next speech. Commanders. are now reportedly being asked to. nominate troops who meet Hegsth's waist. to height requirements and also exhibit. quote unquote impeccable grooming. standards. >> Damn straight. Who cares about dealing. with an intractable war overseas when. here at home we have troops with. well-groomed pubes? And I'm not the only. one who believes Hegsth is a true. American hero. >> Hegs is doing a phenomenal job. And the.
Secretary of War doesn't just go off and. do things. So he follows the law. >> That's right. Hegs follows the law. Or. at the very least, he ponies up 50 grand. when he doesn't follow the law. Look, if. you have to cancel votes because members. of your own party issue articles of. impeachment, that doesn't exactly convey. a sense of confidence that Republicans. are the ones who can get done. I. doubt the Avengers would have the same. clout if they kept having to reschedu. fights. But maybe I'm confused here.
because just this past weekend, the. speaker reiterated his commitment to. ending this intractable war overseas. >> Mr. Speaker, there are still 50,000. troops deployed to the region. You still. have a naval blockade in place. President Trump continues to refer to. the conflict as a war. Let me ask you, are you confident this war will be over. by the next presidential election, Mr. Speaker? >> Oh, of course. I we certainly plan for.
that to be true. It's a complex. situation, as we all know, but it's one. that everyone I mean, it's quite. literally an all hands-on deck approach. Okay, I agree that this approach. deserves a naval-based idiom, but to me, jumping ship feels more apt. Look, it is. not hyperbole to say that Mike Johnson's. entire job is to do Trump's bidding. And. it's a job he's had for years. Remember, back in 2020, Mike Johnson was the legal. architect behind Trump's efforts to seal. the election. Frankly, I'm surprised. Mike didn't ditch his suit and tie back.
then and just storm his own office. But. while Mike Johnson was working behind. the scenes back then to do all he could. to please Daddy Trump, since then the. speaker's efforts have been a bit less. clandestine. Do. >> you think Congress should take the lead. on tariffs now that the Supreme Court. has ruled? >> We're going to wait and see what the. administration does with the executive. authority. >> President Trump's name appears. throughout the Epstein files, including. in many of the new documents released. this week. But do you have any. outstanding questions given that about.
the relationship between President Trump. and Jeffrey Epstein? >> I do not. >> Today, Democrats trying to force a war. powers vote to prevent further US. military action without congressional. approval. >> The motion to discharge is not approved. >> But Republicans blocked it. David, Republicans adamant that the president. doesn't need congressional. authorization. In fact, the House. Speaker claiming this isn't a war at. all. >> Of course, it's not a war. the $ 38. billion dollar we've spent so far is all. just to get Iran to like us more. The.
reality is Mike Johnson and his fellow. Republicans are more committed to. protecting Pete Hegsth and doing Trump's. bidding than they are to ending the. costly war in Iran. And in some ways, I. get where the president is coming from. I mean, if my sons were reaping billions. of dollars in military defense. contracts, I wouldn't want this war to. end either. Hell, how else are they. supposed to support themselves? There's. only so much a Russian oligarch is. willing to pay for. And this is just the. 10,000th example of how despite his. promises to put America first, the.
safety and the security of our nation is. dead last on his list of priorities. The. only reason America's problems aren't. getting solved is because Donald Trump. and the Republicans don't want to solve. them. And I know this to be true because. these people are not lacking in the. tenacity and commitment department. When. it comes to Trump's ballroom, he knocked. down walls before it was even approved. When it came to the reflecting pool, he. immediately handed out a no- bid. contract to a donor who looks like his. only experience with water is washing. money. And when it came to the Kennedy.
Center, he's holding our nation's top. cultural institution hostage until he. gets his name on the building. And the. speaker and his fellow Republicans have. championed Trump's every effort, every. step of the way. Mike Johnson is like a. cheerleader for the shittiest team. captain America ever had. At a time when. millions of people in this country are. drowning under the weight of. skyrocketing gas prices, the rising cost. of groceries, and unaffordable. healthcare, Mike Johnson is taking an. early vacation and has one clear message. for America.
>> You've seen the the record. You've seen. what we've delivered. >> That's right, Mike. We sure have. [music]. Before you go, one quick request. It's. become clear to me that this White House. is dead set on preventing me from. reaching any audience. Trump's decision. to put me as the first name on his. enemies list is a testament to that.
