>> Okay. Good morning, everybody. We have and. what I guess looks like an emergency. press conference that was called by.

Trump. This in the immediate aftermath of the. Supreme Court ruling that his tariffs, which are the cornerstone of his entire. economic policy, are unconstitutional. This was a 6-3 decision. The only. dissents came from Gorsuch and Alito, of. course. I'm sorry. Kavanaugh Kavanaugh. uh Clarence Thomas and Alito with the. Thomas and Alito, of course, being the. the two.

obvious ones for Trump and then. and then Kavanaugh joining alongside. them. Trump has already. kind of There has been reporting that. Trump is looking for workarounds to. continue trying to implement this. But I. believe Mike Johnson, just a few moments. ago, made an announcement that he's. interested in seeking some type of. legislative workaround here. Let me just say, if the Republicans plan. in a midterm year, in an election year,

is to figure out some way to reimpose. not just unconstitutional, but unpopular. tariffs so that they can reimplement a. tax on American consumers, be my guest. I'm. What's the expression? Don't. Don't don't stop your enemy when they're. making a mistake. This would be a. mistake. It is woefully unpopular and. yet that hasn't stopped Trump from. continuing to implement these tariffs. thus to this point thus far.

And apparently it's not stopping him. from taking the out, taking the the easy. win that he was just granted by virtue. of. of allowing the Supreme Court to to give. him this to give him this out. He won't. take it. Mike Johnson seems hell-bent on. helping him use it. And so now we're in. a situation where. we're going to hear from Trump, obviously, but we'll we'll figure out. what what next steps are. as far as his insistence on. re-implementing these tariffs onto. American citizens.

He's about 10 minutes late here. This. was supposed to start at a quarter to. So, we're a few minutes behind, which isn't surprising. But as soon as. he comes up, I will I'll make I'll make. sure that this thing is full screen.

Assuming based on the. hush that's overtaken the crowd that we. should hear from Trump in just a moment.

I'm getting the question who's going to. enforce the court's decision. So,

famously, as we've learned, there is no. one to enforce the court's decision. Technically, that would be the executive. branch, which whose job is to enforce. to execute and and and uphold the law, but but. the the executive branch, obviously, is. the party in question here that would be. going against the Supreme Court. So, to answer the question clearly, there is nobody to enforce the Supreme. Court. You just hope that because you. live in a rules-based society with a. system of checks and balances that the.

executive branch adheres to the judicial. branch's decision. Otherwise, we end up. in a constitutional crisis. So, I I. I understand the question and, you know, the answer the simple answer is really. there's nobody there to enforce it. We. just have to decide on a daily basis if. we are still. a nation of laws. And so if the if the. White House decides that we're not, then, you know, then then and we descend further into.

autocracy, then then that's the avenue. they've taken. But frankly, I don't. think that they're going to refuse to. abide by the Supreme Court's ruling. I. think that we're going to see Mike. Johnson and other Republicans trying to. figure out workarounds so that they can. curry favor with Trump. Or there will be. enough Republicans who recognize the. insanity of this policy, the. unpopularity of this policy, and just. say, "Hey, Supreme Court says no. I. guess we have no choice but to abandon. this thing. Thank God because it's a. terrible policy and it was woefully.

unpopular. and it is a tax on American consumers. And. and it was raising the cost of. everything. for an administration and a party who. came into office under this under the. guise of lowering the of lowering costs. of goods. So, of course, nobody. even in the Republican Party wanted it. But because. the North Star in the GOP today is just. adhering blindly to everything Trump. says and does, nobody was going to speak.

out. So, they're going to take this. gift, or at least most of them are going. to take this gift and and run with it. But the reality is there's going to be. plenty of supplicants and sycophants who. want nothing more than to continue to. to. uh. you know, grovel at Trump's feet and try. and curry favor with him. And so they'll. do whatever whatever he pushes them to. do, which in this case is probably going. to be to find some legislative. workaround to re-implement these. tariffs.

So, we're about 15 minutes behind here. We should be hearing momentarily in. terms of what next steps are.

What an unceremonious end to Trump's. already disastrous liberation day. policy. Ever since liberation day,

which was, I believe, April 1st, aptly aptly dated, job growth has been. completely stagnant. Inflation is still. high. It's still mid-2%. even though Trump took office and it was. 3%. And. and, you know, obviously haven't made a. dent in the debt even though Trump likes. to pretend that we've cut the debt by. 80%. It's just like absolute nonsense on. a daily basis.

And frankly, if I'm not mistaken, the. market has actually reacted well to the. fact that Trump himself, his own his own. tariff policy, was struck down. So, everything is in the green today. I'm. I'm at the I'm looking at the the uh. my. my uh Yahoo Finance app right now for. stocks. Everything is just clearly in. the green as you can see.

This is what the market does. Reacts. positively to uh instances where Trump's. own economic policies get shut down. Every time one of his tariffs have been. struck down at the courts, uh we have. seen that the market reacts well to. that. That is the only thing that pushes him. as far as economics are concerned.

I'm getting asked the question, "Thoughts on DHS subpoenas to social. platforms for personal information on. those who criticize ICE?" I believe Meta. has complied. I don't have an answer to. that yet, but I'm going to find out uh. from from some folks in the tech space.

uh who do have an answer before I give. any um inaccurate information. So, standby for more information on that. I. will I will definitely do a video on my. channel uh in the coming days on that. topic. "How can we trust any report or. statistic that comes out of the federal. government? Can we trust these jobs. reports?" That's a good question and and. frankly, I don't I don't have a. definitive answer to that other than to. say that.

if the federal government was meddling. in these jobs reports, which they may. be, um one would assume that they would. be a little. a little more favorable to the. administration. Like the jobs numbers. have continued to be dismal even after. Trump uh fired the person that at Bureau. of Labor Statistics who was in charge of. compiling this data. So, um I I I don't. have I don't have a definitive answer as. to whether we can trust what comes out. of the federal government. I take. everything that happens that comes out. of the federal government with a healthy. dose of skepticism, um if not, you know,

outright uh if not outright rejecting. what I hear, but but. let's put it this way. Even if the jobs numbers are inaccurate, the fact that they continue to be so bad. is a testament to how poorly they're. doing. Like if if this is what the fudge. numbers looks like, that is a that is a. poor poor reflection of what this. administration is doing. But I I hear your point and and, you. know, it is it is more broadly a problem. that we don't know that we can 100%.

trust the numbers coming out of this. White House. What do I think his talking points will. be today? I think uh. it's going to be difficult because if. he's going to try and paint this Supreme. Court as a bunch of radical communist. Marxist leftists when this is a 6-3. conservative court that has bent over.

backwards to heap deference onto Trump, deference that he didn't deserve, um then I think that that talking point. is going to fall a little flat. Um but I. do think that he will uh. you know, claim that he was wronged, that he's completely right, the Supreme. Court botched this decision, and he's. going to figure out some other. workaround with his allies in Congress. to make sure that his tariffs can be. reimposed because this is the greatest. economic policy anybody's ever seen. Many people are saying grown men are.

coming with tears streaming down their. face saying, "Sir, sir, we've never seen. economic policy this good, sir." So, I. do presume that you're going to have, you know, Trump's top allies in the. House and the Senate, Thune and and Mike. Johnson. prostrate themselves and and basically. offer themselves up to be vessels for. Trump to reimplement a uh tariff policy. that's not only unconstitutional, but. that's killing their own party. I mean, aggressively unpopular. We have seen. costs on everything, on clothing, on. food, on energy, electricity,

um electronics. uh. toys all rise over the last almost year. as the direct result of these tariffs. We've seen trading partners abandon the. United States. And in fact, that would. be bad enough onto itself, but run into. the arms of China to create deals. outside of American influence. And uh. and even with all that happening, still. Trump won't bail because at this point. it becomes more about ego than the. actual economics of it. He has late he.

he's planted his flag on the tariffs are. the best thing to ever happen to the. United States hill. And because he's. done that and any backtracking would. would kind of be viewed as capitulation, and he views any capitulation as. weakness, he's just going to double, triple, quadruple down. And of course, there's plenty of people in the GOP like. Mike Johnson and John Thune who are. going to, you know, whose whose only goal in life is to. curry favor with Trump. They're not. there to represent their constituents, they're not there to represent their.

states. They are just there to show. themselves. up as doormats for this president. Um. they'll they'll help him do that because. they just don't want a mean tweet or to. get thrown under the bus by somebody who. shows loyalty uh who expects loyalty. only to come to him, but isn't willing. to show any in return.

think he'll try to take credit for how. well the market is doing after the. tariffs were shot down? I I I absolutely. think that that the cognitive dissonance. is so strong that Trump will both lament. the Supreme Court striking down these. tariffs, but also take credit for the. uptick in the market as the direct. result of the tariffs getting shut down. Like that cognitive dissonance is. completely fine as far as Trump is. concerned. So, do I think anything is. going to stop him from both, you know, trying to get the disastrous economic.

policy reinstated, but also. but also taking full credit for uh that. same economic policy getting shut down. I think that is perfectly within within. Trump's bounds here. A note for those who have tuned in, this. should be starting any minute now. We're. about 20.

5 minutes behind. Uh he was supposed to. be out for this speech 25 minutes ago. So, I presume, my best guess is that. this will be uh. uh. this will be happening any moment now.

Again, for those who are just tuning in, we should be moments away at this point. from Trump's uh emergency press. conference that he called in the direct. aftermath the immediate aftermath of. these tariffs getting struck down. This. was the cornerstone of his economic. policy. Remember, in effect, this is. just a tax on Americans. Like this is a.

Republican running on a massive tax hike. that impacted working-class Americans. It's a consumer tax. It's a consumption. tax. So, if you want to buy anything, those the cost of goods that come from. overseas and and many, if not most, of. our uh consumer goods or or foods or. clothing or electronics come from. overseas, that is just a tax on people. who buy stuff. It's a working-class tax. Uh it's raised the cost of everything, which. would be bad enough onto itself. And you. don't you don't need to really explain. that to a Republican. They usually run.

against taxes. But um even worse, given. the fact that this comes at the hands of. an administration that took office uh on. this pretext that prices were too high. And uh and that the Biden. administration, you know, was was uh. choking Americans through their high. high cost of everything, high cost of. rent and housing and groceries and eggs. Everything was too expensive. So, we. need the Trump administration to step in. and uh and fix what what the Biden. administration screwed up, only for the.

Trump administration to raise the the. prices of everything by virtue of. implementing uh these tariffs. Um and. so, not only were they unpopular, we now. find out that they're unconstitutional. because Trump doesn't have the power to. unilaterally impose tariffs. That power. belongs to Congress. Which is not to say. that Congress isn't going to be, you know, falling over itself uh uh to. uh deliver Trump whatever he wants. I'm. sure Mike Johnson's already figuring out. ways to do that. But, will it be. successful? I don't I don't think so. I.

don't think that any Republicans other. than, you know, obviously uh uh the core. group that is solely focused on on. currying favor with Trump. I don't think. most of them want to be in a situation. where they are responsible for imposing. a massive tax on Americans what, 6. months before an election? Like, it just. seems crazy. It has been crazy all this. time, but now uh for them to voluntarily. um re-implement this tariff when they. got a huge gift handed to them by the.

Supreme Court would be would be next. level. Refunds. I'm hearing a lot of questions. about refunds. Uh I don't think. anybody's getting any refunds. There is. no um mechanism to to refund people. So, I think that um this is just an a matter. of. folks getting screwed over by Trump and. uh and there being no recourse, which is. a common theme uh in this. administration. Does Trump start attacking the Roberts.

Court ala Marjorie Taylor Greene? He. may. I mean, which which is which would. be pretty incredible because this is a. court that has bent over backwards to. give Trump to heap onto Trump everything. and anything he could have ever wanted. They created they created um a provision. out of whole cloth that a president can. commit crimes with impunity. They didn't. hold him accountable for um inciting or. giving aid or comfort to those who. incited the insurrection on January 6th,

uh which under Section 3 of the 14th. Amendment would have barred him from. running for federal office again. That. didn't apply as far as the Supreme Court. was concerned. So, this this court has. heaped so much benefit, so much. advantage onto Donald Trump. And yet, you all know who he is and he uh. he loyalty, you know, loyalty to Trump only gets you. so far because he expects it 100% of the. time. And in this instance, when you. have a Supreme Court that didn't give. him 100% complete total loyalty, uh.

obviously we can very well be in a. situation where that's enough to send. Trump off the edge. I mean, Marjorie. Taylor Greene didn't give Trump 100%. loyalty because she dared question this. administration when they refused to. release the Epstein files. And now, she's persona non grata in the GOP. He. calls her Marjorie traitor Greene. This. woman was so committed to Trump that he. was her entire brand. And that wasn't. good enough for him. Lauren Boebert, same deal. Has uh had been able to. resist the White House's efforts to get.

her to take her name off the discharge. position when they summoned her to the. situation room. And. uh and she's someone who had, you know, uh prostrated herself for this White. House. And so, I think um I think that. it's perfectly um. uh likely that Trump's going to go after. the Supreme Court today because um. because again, there there is there is. loyalty works one way in Trump's world.

Why hasn't Mike Johnson lost his job. yet? Because Mike Johnson's doing his. job as far as Trump is concerned, which. is to bow down at the altar of Trump. That Mike Johnson learned very early on. that the only job is not to have any. agency, not to protect the autonomy of. the uh of the legislative branch. It is.

to do whatever Trump says, whenever he. says it, period. That is that is the. whole that is the whole game as far as. he's concerned. All right, it's 1:20. Trump is now 35 minutes late for his.

emergency presser. This thing should be. starting any moment now. Um but but just. wanted to flag for those who are. watching, who are waiting. It hasn't. ended. We're waiting for it to begin. It. should have begun um 35 minutes ago. So, I presume. that we are just moments away from this. thing happening. But, uh but again, your guess is as good as mine.

I'm trying to glean little. little uh. hints here and I figure because a hush. has fallen over the uh the White House. press corps that maybe maybe this thing. is starting momentarily.

I got the question. What are the odds we. get aliens in this presser? Let me just say, on the aliens front, when I asked Barack Obama in minute, like, 44 of a 47-minute interview, a. quick speed round question about whether. he believes aliens are real, this is not what I expected the result. to be. All right, here we go. We've got. Trump here for this emergency presser.

Let's listen in to hear what he has to. say. Wow. It's a lot of people. That's a new record. We set a record. every time. Well, thank you very much for being. here. The Supreme Court's ruling on tariffs. is deeply disappointing. And I'm ashamed of certain members of. the court, absolutely ashamed, for not having the courage to do what's. right for our country.

I'd like to thank and congratulate. Justices Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh. for their strength and wisdom. and love of our country, which is right now very proud of. those justices. When you read the dissenting opinions, there's no way that anyone can argue. against them. There's no way. Foreign countries that have been ripping. us off for years are. ecstatic. They're so happy.

And they're dancing in the streets, but. they won't be dancing. for long, that I can assure you. The Democrats on the court. are thrilled, but they will automatically vote no. They're an automatic no, just like in. Congress. They're an automatic no. They're against anything that makes. America strong, healthy, and great again. They also are a. frankly disgrace to our nation, those. justices.

They're an automatic no, no matter how. good a case you have. It's a no. But, you can't knock their loyalty. It's one thing. you can do. with some of our people. Others think they're being politically. correct, which has happened before far too often. with certain members of this court. And it's happened so often with this. court. What a shame. Having to do with voting in particular.

When in fact, they're just being fools. and lapdogs for the RINOs and the. radical left Democrats. And not that. they should have anything at all to do. with it. They're very unpatriotic and. disloyal to our Constitution. It's my opinion that the court has been. swayed by foreign interests and a. political movement that is far smaller. than. people would ever think. It's a small. movement. I won by millions of votes. We won in a.

landslide. With all the cheating that went on, there was a lot of it. We still won in a. landslide. Too big to rig. But, these people are obnoxious, ignorant, and loud. They're very loud. And I think. certain justices are afraid of that. They don't want to do the right thing. They're afraid of it. This was an important case to me, more as a symbol of economic national. security. And also,

I would say, just for our country itself, so. important. Because we're doing so well as a. country. We've never done so well. The. good news is that there are methods, practices, statutes, and authorities as. recognized by the entire court in this. terrible decision. And also as recognized by Congress, which they refer to, that are even stronger than the IEEPA. tariffs available to me as president of. the United States. And.

in actuality, I was very modest in my. ask of other countries and businesses. because I wanted. to do. and I very important. I want to be very. well-behaved. because I wanted to do anything I didn't. want to do anything that would affect. the decision of the court. Cuz I understand the court. I understand how. they're very easily swayed. I want to be a good boy. I have very.

effectively utilized tariffs over the. past year to make America great again. Our stock market has just recently. broken 50,000. on the Dow. And simultaneously, and even. more amazingly, broken 70. broken 7,000 on the S&P. Two numbers. that everybody thought upon our. landslide election. >> He's He's doing the Pam Bondy meme right. now. The The Dow 50,000. Nobody thought. it was possible to do it within 4 years.

And we did it in 1 year. They said you'll never be able You'll go. back and you read. the geniuses, read their statements. All of the Nobel Prize winners. in economics, they said, "No, you. couldn't do it in 4 years.". Well, we didn't do it in 4 years, we did. it in 1 year. We broke every record in the book, and. we're continuing to do so. Tariffs have likewise been used to end.

five of the eight wars that I settled. I. settled eight wars, whether you like it. or not, including India-Pakistan, big. ones. Nuclear Could have been nuclear. Prime Minister Pakistan said yesterday. at the. great meeting that we had, the. peace board, he said yesterday that President Trump. could have saved 35 million lives by. getting us to. stop fighting. They were getting ready. to do some bad things. But they've given us great national. security, these tariffs have.

And together with our strong borders, reduced fentanyl coming into our country. by 30%. When I use them as a penalty against. countries illegally sending this poison. into our country to poison our youth. All of those tariffs remain. They all. remain. I don't know if you know that or. not. They all remain. We're still getting them. And we will after the decision. Guess. there's nobody left to appeal to.

But again, those three people, such. respect. I've had a lot of respect for. them anyway, but such great respect. But other alternatives will now be used. to replace the ones that the court. incorrectly rejected. We have alternatives. Great alternatives. Could be more money. We'll take in more money. And we'll be a lot stronger for it. We're taking in hundreds of billions of. dollars. We'll continue to do so. Yeah, from from American consumers. It's a tax. on Americans. The court said that I'm.

not allowed to charge even $1. I can't. charge $1. Can't charge a dollar. I would have used one penny, but we. don't make the pennies anymore. We save. money. Can't charge $1 to any country under. IEEPA. Not $1. I assume to protect other countries. This must have been done to protect. those other countries. Certainly not the. United States of America, which they should be interested in. protecting. That's what they're supposed. to be protecting.

But I am allowed to cut off any and all. trade. or business with that same country. In. other words, I can destroy the trade. I. can destroy the country. I'm even allowed to impose a foreign. country-destroying embargo. I can. embargo. I can do anything I want, but I can't. charge $1. Because that's not what it says. He's He's just learning out learning in. real time that Congress has the ability. to impose tariffs, not him.

But I can't charge. any money. So, I'm allowed to destroy the country, but I can't charge them a little fee. I. could give them a little two. 2-cent fee. >> a Freudian slip there. >> charge under any circumstances. I cannot. charge them anything. Think of that. How. ridiculous is that? I'm allowed to. embargo them. I'm allowed to tell them. you can't do business in the United. States anymore. We want you out of here. But if I want to charge them $10, I. can't do that. It's incorrect. Their decision's.

incorrect. But it doesn't matter because. we have very powerful alternatives that. have been approved by this decision. You. know, they've been approved by the. decision. For those who thought they had. us. And they're saying that. I have the absolute right to license, but not the right to charge a license. fee. So, think of that. I have the right. to license, which is a very powerful. word. In many ways, license is more. powerful than tariffs. In fact, I was. thinking about using it. But they came up with the idea that I. can license,

just like the people that were opposing. me. told them to do, but not the right to. charge a license fee. Think of that. Whoever heard of such a thing? What. license has ever been issued without the. right to charge a fee? You get a. license, you charge a fee. It's. automatic. But not with this court. But now the court has given me the. unquestioned right to ban all sorts of. things from coming into our country, to. destroy foreign countries. But a much more powerful right than many.

people ever thought we even had, but not the right to charge a fee. How. crazy is that? Our country is the hottest country. anywhere in the world right now. And it was a dead country 1 and 1/2. years ago under an incompetent. president. But now I'm going to go in a. different direction, probably the direction that I. should have gone. the first time, but. I read the language. I'm very good at. reading language, and it read our way.

100%, but now I'll go the way I could. have gone originally, which is even stronger than our original. choice. As Justice Kavanaugh, whose stock has gone so up. You have to. see. I'm so proud of him. I should note real quick, the as Trump. says we're the hottest country in the. world, fourth quarter GDP is up just. 1.4%. These people have been bragging. that we're going to see 5, 6, 7, 8% GDP. 1.4%.

So, night Think of that. The decision might. not substantially constrain. And it doesn't. He's right. In fact, I. can charge much more than I was. charging. So, I'm going to just start Although I. firmly disagree with the court's holding. today, the decision might not. substantially. constrain a president's ability to order. tariffs going forward. That's because it definitely does. Other. federal statutes, which is so true,

authorize the president to impose. tariffs and might justify most, if not. all, of the tariffs. issued in this case. Even more. actually. Those statutes include. Think of that. Those statutes include, for example, the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, Section. 232. All of these things I know so well. The Trade Act of 1974,

Sections 122, 201, 301. And the Tariff Act of 1930, Section 338. All clear. But it's a little bit longer process. I. thought I'd make things simple, but they didn't let us do that. I would. like to thank Justice Kavanaugh for his. frankly his genius and his. his great ability. Very proud of. that appointment. In actuality, why. while I am sure that they did not mean. to do so, the Supreme Court's decision.

today made a president's ability to both. regulate trade and impose tariffs more. powerful. and more crystal clear rather than less. I don't think they meant that. I'm sure. they didn't. It's terrible. And to think. that the Democrats who oppose this only. because they want to go the opposite. way. They'd like to pack the court. They. want to put on 21 people. They want to. pack the court. Pack the Supreme Court.

Maybe they should do it. Maybe they would be better off if they. did it. They want to pack the court. They want to do anything to hurt our. country. There will no longer be any doubt. in the income coming in. and the protection of our companies and. country will actually increase because. of this decision. I don't think the court meant that, but. it's the way it is. Based on long-standing law and hundreds. of victories,

and even as I was pointed out before, even thousands of victories over the. years, to the contrary, the Supreme Court did. not overrule tariffs. They merely. overruled a particular use of IEEPA. tariffs. And essentially, it's the use to get a. fee. I can do anything I want with IEEPA. Anything. I just can't charge anybody. for it. I can license, I just can't charge them. It's ridiculous, but it's okay cuz we. have.

other ways, numerous other ways. The ability to block, embargo, restrict, license, or impose any other condition. on a foreign country's ability to. conduct trade. with the United States under IEEPA. has been fully confirmed by this. decision. So, now there's no doubt because you. know there were a lot of questions about. tariffs cuz. no president was smart enough to use. them to protect our country from those. countries and businesses that were.

ripping us off. You took a look at the deficits that we. had with some of these countries. It was. He has no idea what he's saying. This is. This doesn't hurt other countries. It's. a tariff It's a tariff is a tax on. American consumers. American consumers. pay these pay these tariffs. And if he. wants to impose tariffs, it's up to. Congress to do it. >> In order to protect our country, a. president can actually charge more. tariffs than I was charging in the past. period of a year.

under the various tariffs authority. So, we can use other of the statutes. other of the tariff authorities. which have also been confirmed. and are fully allowed. Therefore, effective immediately. all national security tariffs under. Section 232 and existing Section 301. tariffs they're existing, they're there. remain in place, fully in place.

and in full force and effect. Today, I will sign an order to impose a. 10% global tariff under Section 122 over. and above our normal tariffs already. being charged. Oh, boy. >> And we're also initiating several. Section 301 and other investigations. to protect our country from unfair. trading practices of other countries and. companies.

Thank you for your attention to this. matter, and I say quite simply what I've. said for a long time. Make America great again. And. interestingly, we've already made it. great, so I don't have to use that, but. I don't think we'll ever give up on. MAGA. MAGA's always going to be with us. When people look at the. real numbers. uh and you look at hundreds of billions. of dollars that have come into our. country. yesterday, I was at a steel plant, as. you know, and I went to. great great place, great plant, great. wonderful people.

And they were telling me I said to them, you were there, a lot of the press in. this room. Of course, I don't think this plane's. big enough to take the press in this. room, but a lot of the press right here. We're in Georgia. And I said to the owner of I made a. speech at a factory. They make steel. products, and I said uh. how are you? Nice to meet you. How's. business? President I'd love to kiss you. This is a very powerful man. I don't. want to be kissed by that man.

But a very powerful, strong man. He's. been in the steel business for many. years. His father started it. And uh he said, "Sir, I want to kiss. you." Said, "Why?" Said, "Because we. were down to working 1 hour a week and. then you came in and imposed tariffs, and all of that foreign junk that they. were dropping into our country stopped. And we're now going to double shifts. 7 days a week, and we may be very soon. going to 24 hours around the clock. almost 7 days a week.".

He said, "Sir, I want to kiss you so. badly.". And I said, "No, thank you.". But But you know what? He He just And. just to finalize it he said, "Oh, this. is a great place in Georgia.". In Georgia, he said, "All up and down. the highway. same exact answer, sir. We're all going out of business. We're. going to go bankrupt. We're all going. out of business. And now every one of us. are thriving, and we're hiring people. like we haven't He said, "Like I've. never" and he's been in business for I.

think 45 years, "like we've never hired. before." That's because of tariffs. And. we're going to keep it going the same. way, and it's You're going to start to. see the results in a year from now when. all those factories start that are under. construction right now. You see all the. construction numbers are so good. Those. construction workers are building. factories that are going to be open, including not only AI which is big, but. car plants coming in from Canada who. ripped us off for 30% of our market. Mexico ripped us off for a big portion. Over the years, they've taken our.

market. They've taken our cars. They. manufacture them in Japan, Germany, and. all over the place because nobody. standing in this position, the position. I have as president of the United States. had the insight, the courage Well, I. don't know what it is. to. charge tariffs. You can make your. product outside. >> don't do anything for manufacturing. Manufacturing jobs have gone down since. Trump imposed these tariffs. These. tariffs are only a tax on American. consumers. That's it. It does nothing to.

bring manufacturing jobs back to the. United States. Trump lost hundreds of. thousands of manufacturing jobs his. first term. He lost more manufacturing. jobs his second term. And so, this. notion that he's reshoring jobs is is a. farce. It's make-believe. >> years longer, they made chip chip chip, and. uh they put our. companies Intel would be now the largest. company. I saved Intel. I literally. saved it at the beginning of. this administration. And now all those companies And now he's.

Said, "You've done something. nobody's ever done.". 22 Nobel Prize winners in economics. said we would right now be in a.

recession. and you would said, "No, we're going to. have a booming country. We're going to. have a booming country." You were right. All 22 were wrong. and you were right. This country's. booming. and it's booming because of the election. on November 5th. and it's booming for another reason. It's booming because of tariffs. Yeah, please. What will you say ahead of this decision. that if the Supreme Court rules Thank. you, Mr. President. What will you say to. foreign nations who seek to renegotiate.

their deals? And what did you mean a. moment ago when you said that the. Supreme Court has been swayed by foreign. interests? Well, I think that foreign. interests are represented by people that. have been done by presidents many years. ago. They allowed our country to be. eaten alive. We lost 50% of our car. business. Make We used to make cars. We. made all the cars. And then Mexico came, Canada came, Japan. and Germany. But they're all coming back. now. They're all coming back at record. levels. No, you you. Please. Please. They said, what about all the money that. we've taken in? Sir, they don't discuss. that. How crazy is that? What you're saying is Are you saying. that you don't plan to honor refunds for.

companies that file for them? I just. told you the answer, right? I told you. the answer. It's not discussed. We'll. end up being in court for the next five. years. So, that means he's imposed illegal. tariffs. People have paid money that. they didn't have to pay, and you won't. be seeing a dime. >> the relationship with countries that you. have sought trade deals with? Um do you. anticipate that they will seek to. renegotiate those? What do you say to. them? And do you view this as a. potential undermining power Well, we're.

going straight ahead with 10% straight. across the board, which was the the ab-. the absolute right to do. And uh that's taking place. That's a lot. of money coming into our country. And. then during that period of about five. months, we are doing the various. investigations necessary to put. fair tariffs or. tariffs, period, on other countries. So, we're doing that period, but we're. immediately instituting the 10%. provision, which we're allowed to do. And in the end, I think we'll be taking.

in more money than we've taken in. before. Mr. President, you've used um the tariff. revenue to pay for a host of. federal policies. You claim that they. will pay for them. Um what happens to. this. >> the farmers, we took care of farmers. You know, the farmers were mistreated by. foreign countries very badly, very very. badly. And last week, I gave them 12 billion. dollars out of tariff money. Uh we intend to out of tariff money cuz. we Just so you understand,

we have tariffs. We just have them in a. different way. And now they've been. confirmed. by the Supreme Court of the United. States. So, there's no longer that. question out there about tariffs. And we'll be taking in hundreds of. billions of dollars. That that this is. the opposite of what happened. This is. Trump explaining the upside down. The Supreme Court did not uphold the. tariffs. They struck down the tariffs. Trump doesn't have the ability to impose. tariffs unilaterally. Congress does. In. a place called Vietnam, just left my. office, great gentleman,

strong and smart. He said, you know, I think this means. you're allowed to charge us more tariffs. than before. And. uh Canada said to Jameson, I might want. to say it Jameson, but Canada said, I. hope you win this decision because if. you don't, when you'll actually be. allowed to charge us with a little. additional work, higher tariffs. Jameson, you want to comment on that? Yes, sir. So, the president's point, we. have a lot of tools out there. We have.

section 122, which will be implemented. today, will be signed today and. implemented very shortly. We have. section 301 investigations, which are. incredibly legally durable, where we can. address, investigate, and address unfair. trading practices that have led to our. huge trade deficit. And so, you can look. forward in the coming days and weeks to. seeing all of that come out. And we're. going to keep continuity in the program. We're going to keep addressing this so. that the deficit can keep going down, that's the trend it has, and we can make. America great again.

Several of Republicans in Congress have. supported this decision by the Supreme. Court. And Hakeem Jeffries, the. Democratic leader, has called you a. wannabe king. Mr. President, uh you speak to a lot of. factory workers, a lot of manufacturing. workers. What does this Supreme Court. ruling say? What's that message to those. factory workers? Well, I think the. factory workers are happy because we're. now telling them that they're going to. Look, the man I met with yesterday who owned a. factory was out of business. He was out of business. And now he's employing.

five times In fact, I walked in, he's. got a brand new crane, a brand I said, how old is that crane? We got it in. December. He's allowed to write it off. in one minute. The The great big. beautiful act. gave no tax on tips, no tax on social. security, no tax on overtime. He said, this. this great big beautiful bill, frankly, has been the best thing that's ever. happened for the workers of the much. more so than for rich people. The only. thing it does for rich people, it allows.

them to hire a lot more people. Here's what it Here's Here's what. Trump's Trump's policies have done for. rich people. It gave them a huge tax cut. while it gave crumbs. to middle and and and low low-income. Americans. And meanwhile, he's trying to. claim that that this has been like a. boon for manufacturing. This. Manufacturing jobs have been lost. Manufacturing jobs are going down since. his liberation day tariffs. Job growth has been anemic since. liberation day tariffs. Inflation is at.

3% right now. When he took office from. Joe Biden, who was the biggest um the. biggest. you know, villain when it came to high. inflation, that was 3%. So, Trump. brought inflation down from 3% to 3%. There is no economic metric where what. Trump has done with these tariffs has. helped the United States. >> since 1900, around the time that he had. this plan. That's 125 years we have the. lowest to rate. Okay. And our crime is. way down in the country. Uh.

the factories that we're talking about, the people that we're talking about, they are so thrilled with Trump. So, whether we charge IEEPA tariffs or. whether we charge tariffs under a. different section, that's what we're. going to be doing. There's no way we can. ever This is what happened to our. country. This is why we owe $38. trillion, which we'll get rid of. in pretty good course. We have. a very incompetent This is why we owe. $38 trillion? He added money to the deficit when he. passed the one big beautiful bill,

because he was so hell-bent on giving. the wealthiest Americans a tax cut. This is not going to wipe out the. deficit or wipe out the debt. This is. going to add to it as he's done all. along. Trump has only added to the debt. In fact, 25% of total debt in the United. States was added by Donald Trump. himself. >> happened is we've made America strong. again, we've made America great again. We should pay. As an example, uh. the country of Switzerland, uh we were getting almost no tariffs.

from them. We had a $40 billion deficit. And the prime minister called me up. She. said, "But we are a small country." Cuz. I said we're going to raise it to 39%. from nothing. That would have rendered them. not very successful. As opposed to right now, they're. considered elite. But if we put a tariff, they would And I. realized then, she said, "But sir, we are small country." I said, "You're a small country with a big. deficit for us. You make a lot of money off the United.

States. If we do that, or a lot of these elite. countries, they're elite because we let. them make so much money. And I want them to do well. But I don't want them to do well on the. backs of the American taxpayer. So, I. appreciate your question. Think it's. Mr. President Trump, you said that you. were disappointed with that, but were. you surprised with his decision? What. are What you felt when you I was. surprised because I thought. that what we did was number one. according to I mean, I read the.

paragraphs. I read very well. Great comprehension. Uh. I read everything there is to read, and. I said, "We can't lose this case.". But we can when judges are political, when they want to be politically. correct, when they're catering to a. group of people in DC, maybe. I don't. know what it is, because when you read. it, there's there's no other. interpretation. We have There is no. other interpretation. But it's okay, because what has come. out, and I'll say it for the third time,

and maybe the last time in a while, is that we've taken the uncertainty of. tariffs out, because we had uncertainty. We got sued by sleazebags. I know them. well. Uh that are very outside country. China-centric, but outside. country-centric. Uh and they're going to end up not doing. as well as they did before. America was. becoming really, really We're We're. strong again. Hey, we have. the strongest military built I rebuilt. the military in the first term.

Uh we have the most powerful military, we make the best equipment. And even. them, you know, we have to we could do. much better. We have people that get. paid a lot of money to manufacture. Patriot missiles and Javelins and all. the different things, but when you want. them, they're too slow. And we put them on notice, and they're. going to make We're going Our Our. country is is building a lot of things. right now, and our country is doing. really well, and we're going to keep it. that way. Uh the bottom line is that the.

word certainty. is now in the equation. Every single. thing I said today is guaranteed. certainty. It's been tested. As Jameson said a. thousand times, literally you I said. hundreds of times. He said, "Sir, actually thousands of times." And won in. all of the courts. And we're just going. back to that, and. uh the problem is that we had other. presidents that. weren't into trade. Maybe they weren't business-oriented.

Maybe they weren't smart. We had some. dummies, too, you know. Respectfully say. we had some real dummies. So, so we are. going to. keep it going just as before, probably. more so. But it's you're no longer going. to be asked every time I got up, you'd. ask, "Well, what happens if you can't. charge tariffs?". Now we can. And by the way, in their. decision, they specifically said we can. do these. We have alternatives, yeah. On the on the trade deals that were. negotiated using IEEPA tariffs, do those.

stand now, or are they have to be. redone? >> of them stand. Many of them stand. Some. of them won't, and they'll be replaced. with the other tariffs. Mr. President, on the Supreme Court. justices who ruled against this the. policy striking it down, are they still. invited to your State of the Union next. week? And will you speak with them? >> are invited. Barely. Barely. They're happily invited. No, no. They're. barely They're barely invited.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if they. come, okay? Go ahead. Thank you, Mr. President. Uh. on the trade uh deal, which is the. framework which is signed to be signed. with India uh sometime soon, will that. stand now? And all the decisions Nothing. changes? >> No, nothing changes. We're They'll be. paying tariffs, and we will not be. paying tariffs. Our deal with India is. they pay tariffs. We This is a reversal. for what it used to be, as you know. India and I think Prime Minister Modi is.

a great gentleman, a great man, actually. But uh he was uh much smarter than the. people that. he was against in terms of the United. States. He was ripping us off in India. So, we made a deal with India, and it's. a fair deal now, and we are not paying. tariffs to them, and they are paying. tariffs. We did a little flip. No, the India deal is on, yeah. just going to do it a different Mr. President, thank you so much, Mr. President. I think there is another war. that you stopped, and you should take. the credit, which is in Syria. Uh. Secretary Pompeo, after his meeting in. Munich with the Syrian foreign minister. and the Kurdish General Mazloum Abdi, he. said that President Trump was directly. involved in efforts to stop the fighting. between the Kurds and the Syrians. How. will your administration will make sure. that this peace is sustained? And do you. support the Kurds? Well, it's a very. different topic, and so I don't want to. spend a lot of time. But all I can say. is that the president of Syria, who I.

essentially put there, is doing a. phenomenal job. He's a rough guy. Uh he's not a choir boy. A choir boy couldn't do it. But Syria is. coming together, really coming together. well. And uh thus far, he's been very good to. the Kurds. Yeah. Mr. President, what's your message to. the Iranian people after two rounds of. talks with them? Do you have any message. to the Iranian people? Uh the Iranian. people in Iran, or people here? People. in Iran. Uh.

they better negotiate a fair deal. You know, the people of Iran are a lot. different than the leaders of Iran. And. it's very, very. uh very sad situation. But. 32,000 people were killed. over a relatively short period of time. They were going to hang. 800 two weeks ago. Hang. Hang. Some by. crane. They lift them up with a tall. crane, and they play them around the. square. They were going to hang 837.

people. And I gave them the word, "If you hang. one person, even one person, that you're going to be hit right then. and there." I wasn't waiting two weeks. and negotiating. And they gave up the hanging. They. didn't hang 837. Supposedly, they didn't. hang anybody. But now, I feel very badly for the. people of Iran. They've lived like. They've lived in hell. Please. Mr. President, you mentioned multiple times. foreign influence over the Supreme. Court. Do you have evidence of that? And. if not, will you investigate that?

>> have to find that out. What kind What alternatives are you. going to put into place in your. relationship with Europe? And also, those tariffs that. have been called illegal, how are going. to How they're going to go impact the. relationship with Russia that you. sanctioned some countries? >> to straighten up. Europe has gone woke. Europe is not. recognizable when you go into so many. places. Not all countries. As you look. at. uh. you look at Hungary, you look at uh. Poland,

Czech, uh. Slovakia, there are some countries that have gone. very much the opposite. Some really And. some others. Uh. but Europe has to be strong, and they've. become. soft and not recognizable. You go into. some of the countries, I don't want to. be specific, but I think everyone knows. what I'm talking about. And uh. they're not recognizable. They've become. the environmentalists have taken over. They've got windmills destroying their.

fields and their beautiful meadows and. their oceans, and. they're paying a fortune. Uh. now, Europe has to get smart. Europe's. getting killed on two things, energy. and immigration. And if they don't solve. both of them fast, Europe Europe is not the same place. Yeah, please. Justices Gorsuch and and Barrett, are. you surprised in particular by their. decision today? And do you regret. nominating them? I don't want to say whether or not I. regret. I think their decision was.

terrible. Yeah. To be clear, we're talking about a. Supreme Court that again has prostrated. itself for Trump, that has created. provisions out of whole cloth that don't. exist so that he can commit crimes with. impunity. They disregarded Section 3 of. the 14th Amendment that would prevent. him from running for office because he. supported an insurrection. And yet, that's not good. these new. tariff tools. The tariff rate and. tariffs will ultimately be higher than. they currently are. >> Potentially higher. How much higher? Uh. it depends, whatever we want them to be,

but we want them to be fair for other. countries. And you know, we have some. countries that have treated us really. badly for years. And it's going to be high for them. And. we have other countries that have been. very good, and it's going to be very. reasonable for them. >> Yeah. Mr. President, on the tariffs question I. mean on the on the $2,000 I didn't call. you. Mr. President, thank you, Mr. President. Do you have any plans to. travel to India for the Quad Summit, and. how do you think your relationship with. India is right now? I think my. relationship with India is fantastic.

And we're doing trade with India. India. pulled out of Russia. You know, India. was getting uh. it's uh oil. from Russia, right? And they pulled way. back at my request because we want to. settle that horrible war where 25,000. people are dying every month. And my relationship with Prime Minister. Modi is I would say great. I also. stopped the war between India and. Pakistan, as you know. There were 10 10. planes were shot down. That war was. going and probably going nuclear.

And uh just yesterday, the Prime. Minister of Pakistan said, "President. Trump saved 35 million lives by getting. them to stop.". It's uh and I did it largely with. tariffs. I said, "Look, you're going to. fight, that's fine, but you're not going. to do business with the United States, and you're going to pay a 200% tariff of. each country. And they called up and they said, "We have made peace." Okay? I just want to thank you all. Look, great certainty has been brought back to.

uh. the economy of the United States, and. actually the economy of the world. because we generate so much in the. world. We're the biggest in the world. And we're now the strongest by far. We. were a country that was dead 1 and 1/2. years ago. Now we have the hottest. country in the world. We're going to. keep it that way. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you. Thank you, buddy. >> Thank you, Mr. President. Did you say 32,000 were killed in Iran, sir? So, uh.

that was Donald Trump's. That was Donald Trump's. uh. response to the Supreme Court striking. down his tariffs as unconstitutional. Obviously, uh they can you know, his. response to this was now to impose more. tariffs, which is, you know, uh. uh obviously going to get um going to. get challenged again in the court. system, likely at the Supreme Court at. some point. But his response to this was. to impose tariffs under some different.

authority. Like legality uh the legality. of that obviously remains to be seen. Um. I will have on. uh Supreme Court experts today to. discuss this issue uh and whether he. actually has the authority that he. claims he has here. But I think the. broader point is we have seen we have. seen him basically wish cast in terms of. what he thinks that these tariffs have. done. When in reality, since he's. imposed these tariffs on April 1st, uh. the US has added maybe 100,000 jobs in.

in total, um which. which is over the past like 8 months. That onto itself would be one of the. worst months of job growth. in Joe Biden's presidency, and that has. been the combined job growth in the last. 8 months for Trump. So, job growth has. been anemic. Uh GDP numbers came out. today. GDP is 1.4%. missing all expectations and one of the. weakest uh quarters of job growth that.

we've had, especially in light of the. fact that you have Trump administration. officials um claiming that we're going. to see 5, 6, 7, 8% job growth. 1.4% is. what we're seeing right now. Inflation. is at 3%. To be clear, when Trump took. office uh from Joe Biden, it was 3%. Now. it's gone from 3% down to 3%. So, on the. one issue that he claimed that he was. going to fix during the campaign, which. is this issue of high inflation, uh. we've seen that in fact he's done. nothing uh to deal with inflation. And.

that's where the tariffs come in because. Trump also campaigned on this idea that. he was going to um that he was going to. bring costs down, that costs were too. high, costs of rent and housing and. groceries and eggs. And since he's been. president, because he decided to impose. these tariffs. illegally, I might add, we've now found. out thanks to the Supreme Court, um the. cost of everything has gone up because. tariffs are a tax not on the exporting. country, but on the importing consumers. And we know that. It it is we have been.

saying that over and over and over. again. When you impose tariffs, American. consumers pay those increased costs. The. the companies aren't going to shoulder. those costs. They're not going to eat. those costs. They're just going to pass. them on to American consumers, which is. why we're seeing prices rise on. everything. And in fact, there was just. reporting a few days ago that companies. are expected to to impose high single. digit increases uh high single digit. percentage increases in goods this year. because they're not waiting waiting. around for Trump to to help them as he.

as he demanded that they do. So, we're. going to see prices continue to go up. now as the result of this. Um and yet. still, in an election year, Trump says, "Nope, we're going to do whatever we can. to impose tariffs with any authority I. can try and figure out." And so, he just. announced a 10% new global tax, um which. of course Republicans are going to have. to figure out how to navigate as we have. midterms just a few months away from. right now. Um the tariffs are unpopular, they're raising the cost of everything. They are um direct evidence that Trump.

is perfectly content to abandon his. campaign promises of lowering costs, and. they're unconstitutional. But he's going. to defy the Supreme Court, a Supreme. Court that is so far right-wing. Th-. This is a Supreme Court that has. groveled at his feet for so long. And yet when he doesn't get 100% fealty, 100% loyalty, this is what he does. He. effectively hosts an entire press. conference where he he calls them, you. know, just short of traitors, basically. Um again, this is a Supreme Court that. ruled that he can commit criminal acts.

with impunity. This is a Supreme Court. that ruled that even though he incited. an insurrection and gave aid or comfort. to those who've incited an insurrection, that. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment somehow. doesn't apply, and that he was able to. run for federal federal office again, even though doing so would have. prevented him from being able to run for. office. Inciting the insurrection would. have prevented him from running for. office. So, this is Supreme Court. basically works for the guy. And now you. have them rightfully affirming the fact. that these tariffs were unconstitutional.

because Congress has the ability to. impose tariffs, the executive branch. does not. And he had a full-blown. hour-long press conference where he. railed against this Supreme Court. So, let that be a lesson to anybody who. thinks that that. conferring goodwill to Donald Trump is. somehow going to buy you buy you loyalty. with him. That loyalty is a one-way. street, and that's something that a lot. of people. learn the hard way, and somehow didn't. figure out beforehand.

Michael Cohen learned it the hard way. George Papadopoulos, Gordon Sondland, uh. Rex Tillerson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Kayleigh McEnany, Reince Priebus, like all all these. people have just been thrown under the. bus by Donald Trump. And yet still, even. though you have lawyers that lose their. law licenses, Jenna Ellis, uh. um Rudy Giuliani, more lawyers, heap. their heap their. uh hitch their wagon to his. Nobody in. Trump's orbit can see beyond their their.

own desperate desire for proximity to. power and recognize the inevitable. outcome, which is that you will lose. your livelihood, you will lose your job, you may very well lose your freedom, but. it doesn't matter these people because. proximity to power is just is just that. attractive that they continue to heap. heap praise on to him, uh grovel at his feet, turn into blind. devotees for him, slavish. uh slavish devotees for him. And what's. left is that we'll be in a situation.

where he will attack you one way or the. other if you don't give him 100% of. yourself, which of course is what Mike. Johnson does on a daily basis. And uh he. may very well be responsible for losing. the House by one of the biggest margins. that we've seen. So, that remains to be. seen, but uh in all, it is it was a a. very predictable speech by Trump. attacking people who have helped him. every step of the way because they. didn't, you know, defer to him 100% of. the time and give um uh give him, you.

know, uh the the benefit of the doubt on. these tariffs that the executive branch. doesn't have the ability to impose, that. the legislative branch has the ability. to impose. So, again, um you know, a. speech as unhinged as it was. predictable. So, we'll see what happens. now in terms of legal fights that are. going to um that are going to emerge out. of out of this new imposition of. tariffs. Again, Trump said that he's. going to impose 10% global tariffs on. top of the tariffs that were already. imposed. So, we'll see what stands, what.

gets struck down. Um I presume that. these uh that these lawsuits are going. to begin really quickly. again, this was supposed to be like a. one like a quick speed round like fun. question and uh and and uh I guess now. we're going to find out if UFOs are. real.
