Kristi Noem can’t answer BASIC QUESTION on ICE on national TV

I want to ask a question about the rules. of how law enforcement is allowed to. engage when feeling threatened per your. assertions because I want to show some. video to you right now and ask what is. the appropriate response for the police. officers in this situation. Those. [screaming]. are law enforcement officers being.

physically attacked. By this standard, would any of those officers been. justified in shooting and killing the. people causing them physical harm? every. single situation is going to um rely on. the situation those officers are on. That they know that when people are. putting hands on them, when they are. using weapons against them, when they. are physically harming them, that they. have the authority to arrest those. individuals pardoned every single one of. those people and and make sure that. they're getting justice for their.

actions going forward. President Trump. pardoned every single one of those. >> and every single one of these. investigations comes in the full context. of the situation on the ground. And. that's one thing that President Trump. has been so focused on is making sure. that when we're out there, we don't pick. and choose uh which situations are in. which laws are enforced and which ones. aren't. Every single one of them is. being enforced under the Trump. administration. and the clarity of the. law stands and if people don't like it, these members of Congress and elected. officials should go change the law and.

make sure they have that debate and. policy change. >> I just showed you video of people. attacking law enforcement officers, undisputed proof, undisputed evidence, and I just said President Trump pardoned. all of them. And you said that President. Trump is enforcing all the laws equally. It's just not true. There's a different. standard for law enforcement officials. being attacked if they're being attacked. by Trump supporters. We just saw that. >> this individual and these in instances. and these investigations all have to be. taken and done and done correctly in.

context of every situation that is. happening on the ground. So, what we are. doing today is the Department of. Homeland Security is out there with our. law enforcement officers, making sure. that we're targeting the worst of the. worst and that we're talking factually. about each situation and making sure. that we're bringing those perpetuators. of violence back to justice, bringing. them to justice and making sure they. face consequences for their crimes. We'd. love to have the partnership of Mayor. Fry. We'd love to have the partnership. of the chief of police and of Governor. Walls every day when we're out there to.

make sure they tone down the rhetoric. and they do the right thing for the. people of Minnesota. >> All right. Well, we'll ask Mayor Fry and. the chief of police in just a couple of. moments. Thank you so much. >> I know that most people are going to. watch that clip and get infuriated. because Christine Nome is so obviously. acting in bad faith. But I actually. think it's a helpful exercise because it. shows those Trump voters out there that. this administration actually just has. nothing but disdain for you, has nothing. but contempt for you that they are so. willing to lie right to your faces. They. will say out of one side of their mouth. that ICE officers can shoot protesters.

point blank, but out of the other side. of their mouth that the protesters on. January 6th were not only not in the. wrong, but deserve to be pardoned by the. president of the United States. There is. no long-standing principle, no standards. other than, of course, blind allegiance. to the God King, Donald Trump. And. listening to Christine say as much out. loud on national TV puts the emptiness. of her position on full display. And for. anybody who still has an ounce of shame. left, that's a pretty humiliating. position to try and defend. Of course,

that's quite literally why Christine is. in that job. It's why RFK and Pete. Hegsth and the rest of these lackey and. sick fans are there because they won't. push back against Donald Trump. All the. people who stood up to him in his first. term made Trump learn a valuable lesson. as far as he's concerned. He doesn't. want to do what's smart or what's. effective or what's legal. He wants to. do whatever he wants, whatever will make. him more powerful, whatever will help. him consolidate more wealth. And so he. needs to replace anyone qualified with. yesmen. And that's exactly what he has.

now. Christine will never answer these. questions rationally because it's not. about logic. It will never be about. logic. It is solely solely about. protecting Trump. And even if she has to. twist herself into pretzels in front of. the entire nation and spout off about. context as a way to excuse her. contradictory stances, so be it, because. she is a hack hired to continue being a. hack. And that was put on full display. in other moments during the same. interview, like this one right here. You've also been criticized uh for your.

comments. The shooting, we should note, was Wednesday at 10:37 a.m. Eastern. Just over two hours later, the. Department of Homeland Security put out. a statement definitively asserting what. had happened. defending the ICE agent, accusing Renee Good of domestic. terrorism. That's a characterization. that you reiterated in a press. conference half an hour later. Now, Republican Senator Tom Tillis said, quote, "It was very unusual to have a. senior law enforcement official to draw. a conclusion about an event where the. scene was still being processed. Generally speaking, law enforcement.

would recognize that a life was lost, that families are changed forever, the. shooter's life will change forever. We're collecting video. We're trying to. assess the situation. Why did you not. wait for an investigation before making. your comments? >> Oh, well, everything that I've said has. been proven to be factual in the truth. Uh, this administration wants to operate. in transparency. I have the. responsibility as the Secretary of. Homeland Security uh to know this. information as soon as possible. had. just been in Minneapolis the day before, had already had conversations with. officers on the ground and supervisors.

and knew the facts and decided that the. department and the people of this. country deserve to know the truth of the. situation of what had unfolded in. Minneapolis. >> With all due respect, Secretary, the. first thing you said was, quote, "What. happened was our ICE officers were out. in an enforcement action. They got stuck. in the snow, correct, >> because of the adverse weather that is. in Minneapolis. They were attempting to. push out their vehicle and a woman. attacked them and those surrounding them. and attempted to run them over and. rammed them with her vehicle. >> That's not what happened. We all saw.

what happened. >> It absolutely is what happened. Those. officers had been out on enforcement. action. A vehicle had been stuck. They. had come to help get that vehicle out. That's when this individual started. blocking traffic for minutes and. minutes. >> You said [clears throat] that the woman. attacked them and surrounded them and. attempted to run them over and ram them. with her vehicle. blocked the road for a. long time and was yelling at them and. impeded a federal law enforcement. investigation. And that's what you need. to focus on, Jake, is they were breaking. the law by impeding and obstructing a. law enforcement operation. They were.

breaking the law already, and these. officers were doing their due diligence. and what their training had prepared. them to do to make sure they were. handling it appropriately. >> You said within hours of her being. killed, you said that she was a domestic. terrorist. How do you define domestic. terrorist? She weaponized her vehicle to. conduct an act of violence against a law. enforcement officer and the public. As. they are doing that, >> how can you assert with certainty that. she was trying to hurt the officer as. opposed to she was trying to flee the.

scene? >> If you look at what the definition of. domestic terrorism is, it completely. fits the situation on the ground. This. individual, as you saw in the video that. we released just 48 hours after this. incident, uh showed that this officer. was hit by her vehicle. She weaponized. it and he defended his life and those. colleagues around him and the public. >> Again, I know that these people have no. shame, but the notion that a cabinet. secretary would lie so brazenly should. be grounds for immediate removal for. posterity here. Here's a forensic.

analysis of the accident from the New. York Times. This is the agent who shoots. the driver. He walks around the car. filming and disappears from view. Other. agents pull up and order the driver to. exit her vehicle. One of them grabs at the door handle and. reaches inside. >> The SUV reverses, then turns right, apparently attempting to leave. >> At the same time, the agent filming. crosses toward the left of the vehicle.

and grabs his gun. He opens fire on the. motorist and continues shooting as she. drives past. [screaming] Oh. >> The moment the agent fires, he is. standing here to the left of the SUV and. the wheels are pointing to the right. away from the agent. >> This appears to conflict with. allegations that the SUV was ramming or. about to ram the officer. >> So Christine Gnome can keep repeating. that the vehicle was weaponized until. she's blew in the face, but we all have. eyes. We can all see the truth about. what happened and just as importantly,

the truth about what this. administration's priorities are. It's. not about protecting Americans or. defending their first amendment rights. It is about giving their little secret. police force cart blanch to trample our. rights and chill free speech so that no. one dares speak out against this. administration. What Christine Nom and. Donald Trump are doing would make. Vladimir Putin blush. And I have to say. from a legal perspective, it's going to. backfire because we already know that. federal prosecutors are trying to ice. out, no pun intended, state prosecutors. from investigating what happened in. Minneapolis. And when those state.

prosecutors go in front of a judge to. gain access to that evidence that the. feds are trying to hide from them, all. the state prosecutors have to do is. point to gnomes and Trump's own. statements trying to preclear the ICE. agent, saying that he's completely. innocent and that Renee Good was a. domestic terrorist. And the judge will. see that justice will not be served at. the hands of this Department of Justice, at the hands of this administration. In. other words, in their desperation to. protect their guy, they're actually. making it more likely that he gets.

properly investigated and properly. prosecuted by state officials in. Minnesota. Talk about a backfire. And. again, all of that is secondary for. Christine Nolan because again, it's not. about logic or the law or even basic. reality. It is about blind deference to. Trump and his henchmen and never. admitting fault and never taking the. blame.
