JD Vance CRASHES & BURNS in disaster speech | Another Day
J.D. Vance hits the road to talk about. his war on fraud because nothing says. you're devoted to tackling corruption. quite like a taxpayer-funded speaking. tour. This is just another day. >> [music]. >> With Donald Trump currently out of the. country, J.D. Vance has been forced to. get off the couch or maybe get out of. the couch. and take the lead. And today, he did. just that. >> Vice President J.D. Vance welcomed by a. large crowd in Bangor as he made a stop. in the Queen City with the topic of.
fraud taking center stage. >> Everybody asked me, the president asked. me, I hear from people all the time who. say, "Is is going after fraud hard?" And. I say, "Unfortunately, no." Yes, most. jobs aren't hard if you don't do them. What is even the most rigorous part of. J.D.'s day? Some mild neck pain after. looking the other way for an extended. period of time while his boss rips off. American taxpayers? If J.D. is so. committed to eradicating fraud, not only. would Trump be behind bars, the vice.
president wouldn't be speaking for an. hour touting his non-accomplishments. Just do the work, man. I don't recall. Batman holding a lot of I will clean up. Gotham rallies. But Vance is going to. vamp, so let's hear him out. >> Because you all pay your taxes, because. you do things the right way, it is time. to have leadership in Washington that. treats you the right way and protects. those hard-earned tax dollars. When the. president of the United States said, "J.D., we've got a fraud problem and I.
want you to tackle it," I was so proud. and so happy to be able to do it. But. it's unbelievable, unbelievable, how. much you have been fleeced by your own. government. >> Holy That speech was dripping with. so much irony, I'm surprised they didn't. designate the front row a splash zone. J.D.'s visit to Maine is all part of a. recent push by the Trump administration. to root out America's biggest. fraudsters. Sick people. Vice President J.D. Vance. announcing today the federal government.
is imposing a 6-month nationwide freeze. on new Medicare enrollments for hospices. and home health agencies as part of a. sweeping effort to crack down on fraud. The administration is sending letters to. all 50 state Medicaid programs warning. them to investigate and prosecute fraud. And if they do not, if they do not. aggressively prosecute Medicaid fraud, we are going to turn off the money that. goes to these anti-fraud units. So, this. White House has decided that the best. way to find the fraudsters in America is.
to withhold money. for hospice care. I guess coming to everybody's house to. punch their puppies was shot down. What is so gross and transparent about. this move from the White House is that. they are simply finding an excuse to. cancel Medicaid and Medicare and spin it. as some noble anti-corruption crusade. >> But why is it that we have people who. are driving Lamborghinis, and that is. true. People driving Lamborghinis who. are getting low-income assistance that's. supposed to go for housing and food for. our people. Huh. That one is a bit odd.
I feel like I've heard that talking. point before. The corruption is. absolutely astounding. Brooke Rollins. posted a list of. how many people in just one state were. collecting were. SNAP recipients, but they are driving. luxury cars like Rolls-Royces. >> Just one red state, the recent dump of. data, we found SNAP recipients had more. than 2,000 Tesla owners, 200 Alfa Romeo. owners, more than 144 that were.
receiving food stamps were driving. Porsches. Wow, those are some pretty. astonishing stats. But, I did some digging and it turns out. Brooke Rollins actually got those. numbers from the Foundation for. Government Accountability, a. conservative think tank out of Florida. that has been working to demolish the. social safety net, programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and Social Security since. launching in 2011. And yes, I too was. confused when I heard the words think. tank and Florida in the same sentence.
Kind of like hearing the words sober and. Kash Patel next to each other. Just. doesn't compute. But the USDA, headed up. by Brooke Rollins, went on record to say. that their data didn't just come from. the FGA. They made sure to do their due. diligence and had a second source, which. was this opinion piece in the New York. Post co-written by someone named Hayden. Dubloise, who just happens to be the. data and analytics director for the. Foundation for Government. Accountability. If their sources were. any more incestuous, Trump would have. his hands on its hips.
And if all of this feels a little. dubious, it gets even worse. Because. that think tank report included a little. asterisk that Brooke Rollins failed to. mention. A footnote stated that the. analysis was based on de-identified data. from an anonymous state and provided by. a leading program integrity consultant. I'm sorry, but has there ever, in all of. eternity, been more of a. sentence than that? The data is. de-identified and they don't even name.
that one red state. Seems to me like Hayden and his buddies. spent most of their think tank time. thinking of corporate jargon to avoid an. ounce of, oh, um, what was that third. word in their organization's name? Ah, right, accountability. But let's just. say we accept their talking. point, that if you can afford to own. luxury vehicles, you don't need a. handout from the federal government. Well, what does that say about people. who can afford to make luxury vehicles?
Elon Musk paid no federal income tax in. 2018. He paid less than $70,000 in. federal income taxes 2 years before. that. >> Washington Post has new reporting on. just how much taxpayer money Elon Musk's. companies are getting. And according to. their analysis of publicly available. contracts, Musk has taken $38 billion in. taxpayer subsidies over the last 20. years. Wow, $38 billion. That's almost. enough to afford one Lamborghini. And by.
the way, why is Vance the captain of. this waste, fraud, and abuse task force. anyway? Wasn't that somebody else's job? >> For all intents and purposes, DOGE is. done. The Department of Government. Efficiency as an actual entity within. the federal government is no more. That's according to the government's top. HR official who confirmed over the. weekend that 8 months ahead of the date. it was supposed to wrap up under the. executive order that created it, DOGE is. over. Once again, super easy to do your. job when you don't do your job. Their.
war on fraud is complete utter. If this White House really cared about. cleaning up government programs and. making the most of taxpayer dollars, they probably wouldn't have fired a. dozen inspectors general days after. taking office. But who knows? Maybe. those folks will get an invite to. Trump's new golden ballroom to see all. the money they couldn't stop him from. spending. You can't stand in front of the American. people claiming to be watchdogs of. corruption when day after day the leader. of this administration pardons his. corrupt, wealthy donors. Trump pardoned. the founder of Nikola as a thank you for.
donating almost 2 million to his. reelection campaign. He pardoned venture. capital investor and fellow major donor. Enmad Zubairy. He pardoned Paul Walzac, a wealthy tax cheat, after Walzac's mom. attended a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. And. he pardoned former CEO of Binance whose. company was found guilty of money. laundering after. well, I'll let Trump explain. Why did. you pardon him? >> Okay, are you ready? I don't know who he. is. I [snorts] know he got a 4-month. sentence or something like that, and I.
heard it was a Biden witch hunt. In. 2025, his crypto exchange Binance helped. facilitate a $2 billion purchase of. World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And then, you pardoned CZ. How do you address the appearance of. pay-for-play? >> Well, here's the thing. I know nothing. about it. >> He knew nothing about it. What a shame. he's so ill-informed. Looks like someone. could use a leading program integrity. consultant. These men have absolutely.
zero interest in rooting out large-scale. fraud, and that is because they are. desperately trying to monetize it. All. while vilifying poor people as our. nation's biggest culprits. They know. exactly what they're doing, but do I. ever think they'll actually cop to being. nothing more than greedy, power-hungry. liars? >> Unfortunately, no. Me, neither. >> [music]. >> Before you go, I'm very excited to. announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to wield power. in a post-Trump world. The book explores.
what is, in my opinion, the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward: power. Specifically, how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got. here and, more importantly, how we. should finally wield power if we're. lucky enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo. Please pre-order today by following. the link on this screen.
