“Incompetence!” Jeanine Pirro FAILS AGAIN in court as FIRING looms

You would be hardressed to find somebody. who is having a worse week than Janine. Piro. Glenn, can you explain the brand. new update we have from court that shows. the extent to which Janine Piro is. having a really tough time? Brian, incompetence. Thy name is Janine Piro. So, here is what she just tried to do. and once again she failed. So, there is. a woman who not only was caught. red-handed, but intended to be caught. red-handed because she live streamed it.

What she did was she spray painted. essentially a protest slogan on the. World War II memorial in downtown DC. That is obviously a crime. It's. vandalism. It's defacing government. property. And she was arrested. She was. presented in court in federal district. court in DC. and Janine Piro and her. prosecutors sought to have her detained. pending trial because she's a really. dangerous criminal, right? I mean, these.

are not the kind of cases, Brian, take. it from somebody who practiced in that. courthouse for decades. These are not. the kind of cases where you try to put. somebody in jail pending trial because. you're afraid they're going to be a. danger to the community or a flight. risk. that, you know, Janine Piro is. kind of unconcerned with the nicities of. the law and the evidentiary requirements. to lock somebody up pending trial. So, she fumbled forward. She went into court. on Monday, her prosecutors did, and.

sought to have the defendant, whose name. is Melissa Ferris, detained pending. trial. and the magistrate judge. presiding over the hearing said, "No, I'm not going to order this person. detained pending trial for spray. painting a slogan, a protest slogan on. the World War II memorial." So, Janine. Piro continued to fumble forward um and. she filed what's called a motion to. reconsider. So, the judge denied. yesterday the request to jail Melissa.

Ferris pending trial. Today the. magistrate judge had before him Janine. Piro's motion to reconsider. Basically. trying to urge the judge that you did. the wrong thing yesterday, judge. We're. we're going to try again. We want you to. detain this person, jail this person. pending trial. So there are two things. I'm going to have to refer to. The first. is what Melissa Ferris actually did. And. here is a little flavor of what she did. So before Melissa Ferris defaced the. World War II memorial, she recorded and.

posted a video in which she said, "I am. aware of the choices I'm making. I am. accountable for my actions. I'm going to. make these choices today and I will step. into a courtroom and I will wait to be. arrested. I am accountable for the. things that I do and the choices I make. And our government needs to be. accountable for their choices, too." So, she did this openly, notoriously. I. think at 2 p.m. There are photographs of. it. There was a live stream. And, you.

know, I'm not going to call this getting. into good trouble. I mean, this is. committing a crime by spray painting, defacing government property, but she. was doing it obviously to send a. message. And so here is what the judge. said today when Janine Piro's. prosecutors tried to convince the judge. that he was wrong yesterday when he. refused to jail Melissa Ferris pending. trial. And I should note there are two. reasons essentially to detain somebody,

jail somebody pending trial. If you're a. demonstrable danger to the community, you're a danger to others. You know, this is what would happen in a murder. case or in, you know, non-fatal shooting. cases, dangerous folk committing. dangerous crimes. You might be detained. pending trial or if you're a flight. risk, if you might flee the jurisdiction. or flee the country to avoid. prosecution. If there is an evidentiary. showing that you're a flight risk, um. then perhaps you will be detained.

pending trial. Here is what the federal. magistrate judge said today in what's. called a minute order, a short order. that he published on the public. document. He said that the government's. filing, meaning Janine Piro, the. prosecution's filing in the case trying. to get the judge to reconsider the. decision from the day before. The. government's filing largely. misconstring. The government, the prosecutors, Janine.

Piro, failed to show that it was even. entitled to a detention hearing under. the prevailing federal law based on the. theory that this case presents a serious. risk that Miss Ferris will flee. [snorts]. The government's motion fails to even. grapple with the threshold issue that. the court actually decided. And that was. just one criticism that the judge. leveled against Janine Piro and the.

prosecutors she sent into court to try. to do something that the law does not. even allow. I won't bog everybody down. with the details of the many subsections. that are contained in yes the big ugly. blue book of federal laws, the United. States Criminal Code. I never leave home. without it. But suffice it to say, and. I'm going to repeat what I said in the. opening, Janine Piro, thy name is. incompetence. Glenn, I want to get your.

Glenn, can I have your reaction to the fact. that as Donald Trump continues to whail. about vandals, this is an instance where. it was actually warranted where Janine.

Piro could actually focus on a vandal. And yet, she somehow figured out a way. to screw that up, too. >> I'm sorry, but you know, Janine Piro. can't seem to do anything, I would say, right? But you know, as far as Trump is. concerned, he wants her to do everything. wrong. He wants her to prosecute the. innocent 67year-old. uh Olympic canoist David Hearn. Even. after Janine Piro tried to prosecute. him, the innocent looks like he'd.

committed no crime. He was just feeling. the peeling blue paint liner and they. charged him with doing a thousand. dollars of damage by wrestling with and. ripping off big hunks of paint lining. That was nonsense. So better late than. never. Janine Piro filed a motion to. dismiss the case because they didn't. have the evidence to support a criminal. prosecution of David Hearn and Brian. Even after that, Trump posted virtually. directed his Department of Justice. Look, I want that case prosecuted. Now,

so far the case is dismissed. They're. still litigating some other issues. regarding governmental prosecutorial. misconduct and what the judge perhaps. should do because of what Janine Piro. decided to do, prosecute the innocent. But it hasn't been reindicted yet. But. listen, Trump now put out a post saying, "Oh, I I want that guy prosecuted. whether or not he committed a crime." He. put that post out in substance. I am. sort of inferring the message that he.

was sending to Janine Piro. We'll see. what happens with that. But Brian, as. you just, you know, said, this is one. where somebody committed a crime, right? Melissa Ferris committed arguably two. criminal offenses under the federal law. One is actually called depradation of. government property, if you destroy or. damage government property, and the. other one is called destruction of a. veteran's memorial. And that includes. not only destruction, but damage to a. veteran's memorial. So, if you go up and. spray paint government property, a.

veterans memorial, you are probably. committing those two crimes. And she is. being charged with those two crimes. Mind you, that's an aggregate 20 years. in prison for spray painting a slogan, a. protest phrase on a memorial in downtown. DC. I think the phrase was clean hands, dirty money. And so, yeah, that was um. her protesting what this government is. doing. But if you're going to bring.

those charges and you want to try to. detain this person pending trial, put. her in the DC jail with people who are. facing murder charges, rape charges, carjacking charges, etc. You have to. follow the law. and she couldn't even. simply follow the statutory requirements. that would even entitle her and her. prosecutors to make a motion for. pre-trial detention. And then when the. judge brings that to her attention,

denying her motion, the judge the next. day has to say, "Listen, you're trying. to get me to revisit a decision I made, and you misunderstand the decision. I. mean, this is really just incompetence. on steroids." And I fear this is what we. are going to get more and more and more. from a department of justice that is. bringing in attorneys from the outside. who seem to be sort of unbburdened by. ethics. They have no experience. They. have no training. They have no.

qualifications. They have no judgment. And they're going into court day after. day in any number of cases. And Brian, they're getting their asses handed to. them by the judge. So I think you know. the logical question is is Donald Trump. about to introduce Janine Piro to the. undercarriage of a bus and just you know. get rid of her because she's failing to. do Donald Trump's bidding over and over. again even when she tries to prosecute. the innocent she can't do it. competently.

>> I think it's worth noting too this is. the issue on which Trump has hung so. much of of his credibility. I mean, just. a couple of days ago, he posted again on. Truth Social, and I'm going to put it. right here on the screen. Look what. Vandals did to the grass, connecting the. vandalized World War II monument and the. vandalized reflecting pool, which will. be opened again and better than ever. shortly. Anybody who thinks the. reflecting pool wasn't vandalized, should go back to law school. Well, apparently that's his own DOJ, which. admitted in a court filing that the the.

issues with the reflecting pool liner. were the result of a botched. installation, not vandals. But Trump. doesn't care about what's actually true. He just cares about perpetuating his. narrative. And the irony of that is that. he's basically telling his prosecutors, including Janine Piro, and obviously. that last part is a jab at Janine Piro. But Trump doesn't care what's true. He. just cares about perpetuating his. narrative. And so if that means that. Janine Piro has to be put in the.

uncomfortable position of having to. possibly surrender her law license. because when she continues to prosecute. someone who she knows who the. administration has conceded is innocent. Or the flip side of that is if she. doesn't, she she risks being on the. receiving end of Trump's eye. So he puts. his prosecutors in the miserable. position of having to go ahead and. knowingly lie in court and thereby, you. know, possibly throw their entire lives. away. Certainly their law licenses and.

there's a long line of now disbarred. attorneys who have at one point graveled. at the feet of Donald Trump or they can. dain to tell the truth and then get. thrown under the bus, which is clearly. what seems to be happening to Janine. Piro right now. >> Yeah. And he also accused Janine Piro. when she ultimately dismissed the case. because apparently she was unwilling to. prosecute the innocent. He accused her. of folding like an umbrella. You know, we we've come to the place in our.

executive branch where Donald Trump, who. desperately wants to be a dictator, right? He doesn't care about evidence. He just wants to be able to punish those. people that displease him in some way. He is like the Queen of Hearts in Alice. in Wonderland, right? Sentence first, trial later. I mean that's where we are. when he is having his DOJ try to. prosecute just inarguably innocent. people and he tries to have his DOJ. indict you know two felonies 20 years in. prison and pre-trial detention which is.

usually reserved for the worst of the. worst for a woman who as a matter of. protest spray painted an anti-government. slogan on a a government building or on. a a veterans monument or memorial. memorial. I mean, what what is next? A. death penalty for parking violations in. DC. And that's what Donald Trump wants. to be, right? I I you know what I still. have kind of in the back of my head is. Donald Trump's fondness, love, even his.

word for a murderous dictator like Kim. Jong-un. And aren't we back there in the. news today? Remember when he said, you. know, when Kim Jong-un walks into a. room, everybody jumps up and salutes. That's what I want my people to do. jump. up and salute me. It is no secret what. Donald Trump wants to be. He wants to be. a dictator who can do whatever he damn. well pleases to the American people um. without regard to evidence, law, constitutional rights, or any other.

constraints that you know what other. dictators don't have placed on them. And. I think he bristles that here we're. supposed to be a country of laws and not. men. >> Right. And by the way, aside from just. Kim Jong-un, uh his fondness for. somebody like Muhammad bin Salman, who. dismembered Jamal Kosigible, who's a US. permanent resident, uh and a member of. the press, uh and and and you know, in. terms of these these baseless. prosecutions, it's not just David Hearn,

the former US Olympian, uh who the. administration conceded in a court. filing was innocent, that the. administration continues to want to. prosecute. It's also Kilmar Brego Garcia. who the administration conceded in a. court filing was only sent abroad due to. administrative error. And yet Trump. wanted to keep him overseas because he. wanted to make an example out of these. people. He doesn't care about the rule. of law. He cares about protecting his. own narrative and protecting his own ego. and it doesn't matter whose life he has. to destroy on route to that. So with. that said, we will of course stay on top.
