I asked a Trump official a SIMPLE question on air… he PANICS

I had the chance on national television. to ask a very simple question to a man. named Theo Wall. That's Trump's former. acting assistant attorney general in the. office of legal policy. Here's how that. went. Working class Americans aren't. interested in anything that the DSA is. selling. They don't want socialized. medicine. They don't want government. takeovers of private industry and they. certainly don't want open borders. I do. want to pivot over to one to one thing. that that my co-panelist said here. And that is this idea that that there's. going to be some federal takeover of.

private business if the socialist. takeover. As far as I'm concerned, there's only been one administration. that's ever taken some stake in a. private entity, and that's the Trump. administration taking a 10% stake in. Intel. And so is that socialism? Now, I'm going to get to his response in just. a moment. But I should note here, for. the record, that I did not bring up. socialism. I did not bring up the DSA. That is a line that Republicans like. host Katie Pavlich and her guest Theo. Wold love to wield against the left. It.

is a cudgel that the right had wielded. for decades. And so I figured, if. they're so hell-bent on calling. everything socialism, why not ask if. actual socialism is socialism? >> So Theo, I'll let you respond if you'd like to. about that claim. But I also want to get. to California as well because we all. know that California, and I know Brian. you've lived there, but. California is the number one place for. people to leave the state, not to come. into the state. And today the California. Energy Commission voted unanimously to.

implement new tire efficiency standards. that would cut 70% of tires currently. available from the marketplace. So if. we're really talking about helping. working class everyday Americans, California government is now saying. we're going to regulate what kind of. tires you can put on your car for the. sake of the environment. >> Yeah, two things real quick here here. Katie. On the polling, I'll just note. the more interesting story that broke. today was less about median and more. about this aggregate study performed on.

over 3,000 polls that showed that they. overwhelmingly 73% to the tune of 73%. misreported the advantage that Democrats. had in particular during the summer when. primaries are happening and Democrats. want their preferred candidates to. advance into general election matchups. with Republican incumbents. So, the. polling is off, but it seems to be. consistently off favoring Democrats. And. on the other point you know, California. look whether it was regulatory practices. on eggs and egg farming, whether it's.

the Clean Air Act regulations on trucks. and SUVs, or whether it's now on tires. or even on the renewable energy. portfolio that shut down you know, cheap. affordable energy for families in. Compton or Stockton or Oakland, California Democrats have shown that the. way it looks when Democrats are in. control is you won't be able to afford. an air conditioning, you won't be able. to drive a truck if you're a working. class American and need one, and you. certainly aren't going to have a. high-speed rail system to get you from. Los Angeles. >> Oh, we know that. We know the the. billion-dollar boondoggle. Talked about.

Theo Wold an out and because Theo Wold. decided not to answer my question even. though he was so quick to deploy his. talking points when he didn't expect a. follow-up. And by the way, you don't. even have to take my word for it. Take. it from these avowed critics of. socialism.

>> And so I think it's a a big mistake to. have government ownership of things. And. of course, it's a step towards. socialism. What What is worrisome is. when you see the people supporting the. president just sort of saying, "Oh, no, no, this is good and it is good that the. government should own." And that that. really worries me because I I I worry. that the the free market movement, the. movement that was a big part of the. Republican Party is being diminished. over time. >> I know exactly what you're saying and. and just to tell you how I've sort of. tried tried to to grapple with it. The.

money was already going to Intel from. from the Chips Act. And free market. forces did. cause some. hollowing out of of a lot of our. industries and there are some that we do. it would be in our best interest if if. we could bring some of them back. So the. Chips Act was one way of doing it, but. it was just subsidies with all these. conditions. Once we already earmarked. all that money from for Intel, isn't it. better if the government actually had a. stake and and not a stake where they'd.

be active. owners, but just you know, passive. owners. We you know, the taxpayers or or. the government owns the stake, but. instead of just giving it to them, as. long as they have child care and you. know, DEI actually have a stake. If if. we ended it right here and it wasn't a. slippery slope, only 10% of every. company, is there is there any way that's okay? >> You know, we've been giving poor people. Coca-Cola for a long time and maybe 10%. of the money Coca-Cola gets is given to.

them. Maybe poor people should own part. of Coca-Cola. No, it's a terrible idea. Sort of compounding one bad idea with. another. >> The US government would become the. largest shareholder of Intel. This is. actual socialism happening by a. Republican administration. This is a. horrible precedent. This is socialism. All of you people were freaking out. about Memdami in New York City wanting. government-run grocery stores and saying. the people need to seize the means of. production. That's what Harold Lutnick.

is doing right now, saying that the. government must seize a controlling. interest in Intel, the means of. production in order to get government. money. You can't just be against. socialism when the left does it. >> So interesting the wrinkle in the story, because now that they're communist, there's an opening for socialism. And. you know who's filling it? Donald Trump. >> I said. >> Donald Trump. How else do you explain a. 9.9 stake in Intel. by the government? Is that not. socialism? Nvidia, we took 15% cut when.

we let them sell chips to China. Uh. Nippon Steel, that's merged with US. Steel. We have a golden share. We. basically run their boardroom now. >> Mhm. >> And you know this is socialism, I think, because Bernie Sanders agrees with it. all. >> Oh, yeah. >> He wants to do it with the AI companies. >> So, I just think it's rich how you've. got these stalwart opponents of a. certain system of government who fall. over themselves to deploy their talking. points. But when their side of the aisle. does the exact thing that they condemn, suddenly there's no smoke for those.

people. So, are they actually against. socialism or are they just looking to. score cheap political points? I don't think it's too hard to find an. answer to that question. So, look, my job on this show was not to. convince anybody on that panel. Both the. host and her guest are Trump sycophants. to the nth degree. But I go on that show. to offer up facts to her audience and. expose the lies that they feed their. viewers on a daily basis. And if I can. change even one person's mind by. explaining the truth or exposing their. hypocrisy or even, God forbid, asking a.

question that I obviously won't get an. answer to, then I feel like I've done my. job. And I know that there is a lot of. concern over platforming people or. people validating other people's. platforms. Look, these people exist. Their platforms. exist. Pretending that they don't. doesn't get us anywhere. We tried that. in the lead-up to the 2024 election. Doesn't work. I would rather try to do. my part to talk some sense to their. audience than cede that space entirely. And yes, I'll get ganged up on. I'll get.

railroaded and sometimes I even get. threatened to be muted on national. television. I won't stop.
