EXPLOSIVE Epstein update that “could land Todd Blanche in jail”

You're watching the legal breakdown. Glenn, it looks like the Trump. administration's Epstein troubles just. landed themselves in the courtroom with. some more bad news. Can you explain this. new ruling from a judge as far as the. Epstein files are concerned? >> Yeah, Brian, this is a really big. development. So, we know that Todd. Blanch and even before him, Pam Bondi, when she was uh attorney general, they. have been in violation of the federal. law, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, since December 19th, 2025, which was the.

deadline to comply with the act fully. And we'll talk about what full. compliance looks like in a minute. and. they have just cavalierly, you know, basically thumbed their nose at any. notion that they had to fully comply. with the federal law, which from this. old career DOJ employees perspective, it. makes no damn sense to me. But this is. where we are, you know, and Brian, it. took an independent journalist, Katie. Fang, you know, somebody who we know. well from her MSNBC legal analyst days,

to actually step up and say, you know. what, enough. I'm a journalist. I have a. right, anformational. right. That is actually a term of art. You can sue the federal government if. they're violating your right to public. information. She said, "I have this. right as a journalist and more. importantly, the American people have a. right under the Epstein uh files. transparency act. The victims of. Epstein, Maxwell, and others crimes. certainly have a right to access this.

information. So, I'm going to sue Todd. Blanch in his uh professional capacity. as acting US attorney. And I'll tell. you, the way Todd Blanch has navigated. this litigation shows what a poor lawyer. he is beyond being sort of entirely. unethical. He's a poor lawyer. He's. univil in the way he goes about. litigating these matters. And Judge EMTT. Sullivan just has had enough. And. basically, he's the one presiding over. the lawsuit. and he issued a 48page.

opinion granting um Katie Fang's request. for a preliminary injunction by which he. is ordering the Department of Justice to. comply with the damn law. Katie Fang set. out five violations of law that Todd. Blanch is perpetrating. And here's the. crazy part. Todd Blanch didn't even. contend that he wasn't violating the. law. In two places in this 48page.

opinion, Judge Sullivan said Todd Blanch. has conceded that he is violating. federal law. So he granted Katie Fang's. request to essentially force compliance. with the law. We can talk about what. that compliance will look like. and he. gave um the Department of Justice Todd. Blanch until July 2nd to either comply. with the law or um another term of art, show cause why I shouldn't take further.

action to force compliance with the law. So, we've got about a week now to see. whether Todd Blanch either complies with. the federal law or files something. explaining why he thinks that he is on. legally sound footing to say you know. what I don't have to do these five. things that Katie Fang has asked the. court that you know it order me to do. for going ahead with this um and taking. action where even members of Congress. wouldn't. But that raises the question, given the fact that Katie Fang was. successful here, one, were you surprised. that she has standing? And two, given. the fact that she apparently does have. standing, why did it take so long for. anybody to bring a lawsuit against Todd. Blanch uh to force the release of the. remainder of these files? It's been. almost 7 months uh since these uh since. the Epstein Files Transparency Act was.

passed. That was December 19th, 2025, and we're still waiting on 3 million. files. >> Yeah. Let let me answer the question. about standing. That's an easy one. because Judge EMTT Sullivan ruled that. Katie Fang has standing. She has a. journalistic dog in the fight, so to. speak. You know, I use the. termformational. harm or anformational right. Well, when. there is a federal law that requires the. federal government to disclose certain. things publicly, that gives journalists.

anformational right. And they can. sufferformational harm because they. can't go about doing their jobs as. journalists and informing the American. people if the federal government is. violating a law that requires them to. provide certain information to the. public. So, she absolutely has standing. and Judge Sullivan ruled that she has. standing. Now, I'll tell you the perfect. question, Brian, is why in the hell has. corporate media laid back and not done a.

damn thing to bring the kind of suit. that Katie Fang, who is an independent. journalist, you know, she doesn't have. uh, you know, a big commercial sponsors. behind her, corporate media behind her. She's one person who's she's a former f. prosecutor, former defense attorney, former host on MSNBC. Um, and she said, "You know what? Enough is enough. And if. nobody else will bring the suit, I will. bring it." And she brought it courtesy. of being represented by a terrific.

former DOJ lawyer named Brandon Belaloo. I don't know if he's charging her or if. he is representing her pro bono. I'm. betting it's the latter that he's doing. this for free because like so many of. us, Brian, like me, like you, like other. independent journalists and legal. analysts, we're in this for the mission. We're in this to push back against a. lawless, reckless, unconstitutional. executive branch headed up by Donald.

Trump. You know, this is mission for us. And that's what I think motivated Katie. Fang. And listen, it has paid off in a. big way because now for the first time, we may begin to get some court orders. directing the Department of Justice to. disclose everything to lift the. redactions. And let me let me now turn. to the five things that Katie Fang um. succeeded in wrestling out of the. Department of Justice, assuming they. comply with the court's order. First,

the attorney general has violated the. Epstein Act by redacting the names of. senders and recipients in at least eight. email exchanges with Mr. Epstein. regarding a torture video and sexual. activity with young women, including. minors. Just put a pin in that. There is. no legal right for the Department of. Justice to redact the names of those who. are potentially complicit in Jeffrey.

Epstein's sex trafficking sex. trafficking. But that's what Todd Blanch. has done. He has unlawfully protected. those people. That's one category. Second, the attorney general has. violated the Epstein Act by redacting. the names, get this, of co-defendants in. a draft indictment and the names of. individuals who have been identified as. co-conspirators. These are people who inarguably are. criminally involved in Jeffrey Epstein.

and Galileain Maxwell's sex trafficking. scheme conspiracy because they're. co-conspirators and co-indictments in. government documents and DOJ is. protecting those people too by redacting. their names unlawfully. Let me just do a. third category. I won't go through all. five. Third, the attorney general has. violated the Epstein Act by withholding. materials mentioning Donald Trump, specifically notes from an FBI interview.

with a victim who alleged in the 1980s. when she was about 13 years old that. Epstein introduced her to Trump, who in. turn assaulted her. This is the kind of. unlawful redactions Todd Blanch is. making. At last one, number three on the. list is directly protecting Donald Trump. when he's being directly implicated in. crime with what we call direct evidence, not circumstantial evidence. When a.

victim himself or herself reports. something to the FBI, that is direct. evidence of crime. doesn't necessarily. mean the report is credible, but this is. exactly what the Epstein Files. Transparency Act was designed to make. public these kinds of really damaging. information. And this is what Todd. Blanch has been doing. He's been. covering up for these people. >> Well, obviously given the fact that Todd. Blanch is so hellbent on perpetuating.

this cover up, he's not just going to. roll over because Katie Fang won this. ruling. And so what do you anticipate. are Todd Blanch's next moves going to. be? Because the whole point of him being. there was expressly so that there would. not be transparency on this one issue. I. mean, he is he is there basically acting. in his his capacity as Donald Trump's. personal criminal defense attorney. So. his job is to protect his clients, not. represent uh the the country or or.

adhere to the law. And so and so he's. not going to just roll over. >> I agree. And so the question is, how. does he best go about protecting his. client, dear leader Donald Trump, when. his sworn duty and obligation under the. Constitution and under his oath of. office, is to protect the interests of. the American people. This is why. accountability must come for Todd. Blanch, just the way it came for Richard. Nixon's criminal attorney general, John. Mitchell. So here's what I suspect he.

will do. He seems to have become more. and more bold in basically flirting with. um disobeying court orders. I mean, the. way he has really botched the litigation. in the $1.8 8 billion so-called. weaponization fund, really the copers. fund case in both Virginia um and down. in Florida where what's being litigated. right now is whether the entire suit. that was brought by Donald Trump that. produced the weaponization fund was a.

fraud perpetrated on the court by Donald. Trump and DOJ. Spoiler alert, it was um. but he really he's missed filing. deadlines recently. he has failed to. file things that he was obligated to. file. I I wonder if he's just going to. go kind full rogue and just start. ignoring court orders. And here's what I. will say. Um, Judge EMTT Sullivan, who. is the judge presiding over this case,

is something of a lion in DC criminal. justice circles. I've appeared before. him back when I was a prosecutor. and. and you don't play with him because he. is um he is unbending in his. determination that the rule of law will. be respected and that court orders will. be obeyed. So, you know what? Maybe we. will begin to see some of our first. contempt proceedings that, believe it or. not, could, I'm not saying it's likely.

to happen, but could land acting. attorney Todd Blanch in a jail cell. >> Finally, let's finish off with this. Can. you speak about the appeal options that. are right in front of us right now? Yeah. So, what we know already, late. breaking news, is that the Department of. Justice is putting together an emergency. appeal that they're going to be filing. And I'm going to set aside all the legal. nicities about whether they can actually. appeal a preliminary injunction or they.

have to wait until it ripens into a. permanent injunction. Let's assume they. can find a vehicle to appeal it up to. the DC Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, which sits a top judge uh EMTT. Sullivan's court. Um, I I have to. believe that they're gonna they're going. to fail on appeal. Except there are a couple of Trumpapp. appointed judges on the DC Federal. Circuit Court of Appeals like Naomi. Ralph and Justin Walker who I'm sorry, they have proven themselves not to be.

honest brokers of the law. I believe. they are both auditioning and. auditioning hard for a possible Supreme. Court appointment in the event the. Thomas' or Alitos of the world choose to. retire and Donald Trump gets to appoint. another Supreme Court justice. Um so it. really does depend on the three judge. panel that will be randomly selected to. hear an appeal if one is filed of Judge. Sullivan's order. Here's the good news.

though. Even with those couple of. compromised judges on the DC Federal. Circuit Court of Appeals, we've seen. this movie before when a panel that. consists of a couple of Trump. appointees, not all Trump appointees. are, you know, are corrupt or are. willing to rule in Donald Trump's favor, notwithstanding a complete lack of. support in the law. Um but what we have. seen happen time and again is if a. couple of Trump judges go rogue then.

what happens is that the litigant who. lost will seek um onbunk review of all. dozen or so judges on the DC federal. circuit court of appeals and Brian they. have reversed those two Trumpappointed. appeals court judges more than once. So. listen there is still some light at the. end of the tunnel of course where does. that tunnel lead? Well, ultimately right. up to a compromised Supreme Court. So, it's anybody's guess what happens when. and if this case makes it all the way up.

to the Supreme Court. >> Well, we will of course stay on top of. it. As you mentioned, July 2nd is the. next deadline. So, it's coming up very. fast.
