BREAKING: Trump waves the WHITE FLAG in HUGE defeat

Some breaking news here, the Trump. administration is now reportedly. planning on dropping altogether their. plan for a 1.776 billion dollar January. 6th insurrectionist slush fund. The DOJ. took to Twitter today writing, "The. Department of Justice disagrees strongly. with the decision on the. anti-weaponization fund put forth by the. United States District Court Judge in. the Eastern District of Virginia, wherein the court stated that under no. circumstances may the Department of. Justice proceed with the. anti-weaponization fund recently. established in order to make up for the. tremendous abuse, harm, and hate.

unfairly shown to so many people. This. fund was open to anybody who was so. weaponized, targeted, or persecuted, whether they were Democrat, Republican, Conservative, Independent, or otherwise. The Department will abide by the court's. ruling.". Now, interestingly, a judge did not rule. that the Trump administration was. blocked from moving forward with its. slush fund. The District Court Judge. just issued a temporary pause until she. could rule on an emergency motion to. block it. But, the fact that the White. House and the DOJ are suggesting that. the court killed this slush fund. altogether suggests that maybe they were.

looking for any excuse whatsoever to. just drop their plans considering how. aggressively unpopular they were. Senate. Republicans had tried to pass through a. process called reconciliation, meaning. they only needed a simple majority to. pass a bill that would fund DHS and ICE. Those agencies hadn't been funded along. with the rest of the government because. Democrats wouldn't vote to give a rogue. agency funding that when that rogue. agency was shooting and killing. Americans in the streets. But, Senate. Republicans didn't need a Democratic. votes if the process goes through. reconciliation because only a simple.

majority was needed for reconciliation. as opposed to the normal course of. order, which is 60 votes. So, it seemed. for Republicans like everything was all. good. They would get the requisite votes. and fund DHS and ICE. But, then Trump. threw a wrench in the plans by deciding. that he also wanted his January 6th. slush fund to be a part of the process. And obviously, paying out January 6th. insurrectionists who beat cops at the. Capitol almost two billion dollars. didn't sit super well with some Senate. Republicans. >> I want to read you just a few more.

quotes here and get your reaction. What's going on on that side? Tell us. Imagine that a fund that's set up to. compensate people who assaulted Capitol. Police officers. People that have pled. guilty to physical acts may actually be. able to compensated. How absurd is that. coming out of my mouth? Here's Mitch. McConnell. So, the nation's top law. enforcement officials asking for a slush. fund to pay people who assault cops. Utterly stupid, morally wrong, take your. pick. >> This is beyond the pale. This is not. good for my colleagues. There's not one. positive thing that could be spun out of. this between now and November. This is. bad policy, it's bad timing, and it's.

bad politics. >> Under what circumstances would it ever. make sense to provide restitution for. people who are either pled guilty or. were found guilty in a court of law? >> I think it's stupid on stilts. >> Why? >> Because it will invariably put us in a. position where your taxpayer dollars and. my taxpayer dollars could potentially um. compensate someone who assaulted a. police officer, uh admitted their guilt, got convicted,

got pardoned, and now we're going to pay. them for that? That's absurd. The. American people are going to reject this. out of hand. When you take money from me. to give to a purpose that I vehemently. disagree with, that's tyranny. >> We got a lot of questions about this new. $1.8 billion weaponization fund. A short. time ago, the Department of Justice laid. out some additional terms of this. settlement in terms of the IRS saying. that the IRS is forever barred and to be. excluded from prosecuting or pursuing. future examinations of the president. Do.

you believe this is a legitimate fund, and do you believe those terms are fair? >> I think that there are and and will be. continue to be a lot of questions around. that that uh the administration is going. to have to answer. >> According to NBC News, Senate Majority. Leader John Thune had aimed to get the. reconciliation package through the. Senate and onto the House before the. Memorial Day holiday. But, GOP senators. emerged from a closed-door briefing with. top Justice Department officials about. the fund with more questions than. answers, and it became clear that. Republicans did not have consensus on.

moving forward. Administration officials. need to help with this issue because we. have a lot of members who are concerned, obviously, about the timing, but also. about the substance, Thune told. reporters after he canceled the votes. Asked by NBC News how much the. weaponization fund played into. postponing the reconciliation vote, Thune replied, "Well, that's a big. issue." Bill Cassidy added, "I think the. administration is putting itself in a. bad spot." Thursday's briefing with. acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and. others lasted over an hour and a half, and Republicans emerged tight-lipped and.

appeared frustrated, saying they are. working on how they could put guardrails. on the fund. Yes, I'm sure that the. DOJ's promises about guardrails are very. convincing. After all, Todd Blanche, Trump's personal criminal defense. attorney who also transferred Ghislaine. Maxwell to a low-security prison with no. explanation whatsoever, seems like a. very trustworthy guy. So, trustworthy, in fact, that Pam Bondi threw him under. the bus in spectacular fashion just days. ago. >> She continues to push. all of the investigation and the blame.

on acting AG Todd Blanche. She said, and I quote, "Acting AG Blanche was managing the. entire investigation." End quote. And what you're going to hear. in that interview, and what she's saying. here in her opening remarks, is that it. was Todd Blanche, the current acting AG, that was leading the Epstein. investigation, and quite frankly, all of the mistakes that we saw,

the redactions, not protecting. survivors, she continues to push that back onto the. acting AG Todd Blanche, who by the way. was Donald Trump's former personal. lawyer. So, yeah, I just don't get it. Why don't. these Republican senators realize that. they've been in good hands with the. Attorney General who is implicated in a. pedophile ring. Especially with this. reassurance from the DOJ, "There is no. partisan restriction. Democrats can. submit claims, too." See, Republicans. and Democrats can submit claims to get.

paid from the $2 billion slush fund, and. I'm sure they'll approve plenty of those. Democrats claims because if this. administration has shown us anything, it's that they are capable of operating. in a non-partisan, bipartisan fashion. for the good of the country and not. simply to advance the political. interests of their own political party. by any means necessary. But, I got to. say, it really is pathetic that the DOJ. has to lie about what judges said. because they needed an out on their. aggressively unpopular policies. These. people have so much contempt for their. own supporters that they will lie to.

them on a minute-by-minute basis instead. of just acknowledging objective reality. that their plans are insane, aggressively unpopular, help no one, make us all less safe, and couldn't even. garner support in a political party full. of Trump's colon dwellers. The GOP would. collectively sacrifice their firstborn. children if Trump asked them to. So, the. fact that he's getting pushback on this. goes to show the extent to which he and. the DOJ have lost the plot. With. that said, lies aside, if the White.

House is dropping its insistence on this. batshit crazy slush fund, then we could. and should celebrate the win. Trump may. have thought that he could act with. impunity, but he is learning a fast. lesson in political gravity. Specifically, the fact that it still. exists.
