BREAKING: Trump drops BOMBSHELL late-night announcement

Some breaking news amid Donald Trump's. earlier threat today, promising that the. quote "whole civilization will die. tonight in Iran." He has now issued a. new announcement, quote "Based on. conversations with Prime Minister. Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim. Munir of Pakistan, and wherein they. requested that I hold off the. destructive force being sent tonight to. Iran, and subject to the Islamic. Republic of Iran agreeing to the. complete, immediate, and safe opening of. the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend. the bombing and attack of Iran for a. period of 2 weeks. There will be a. double-sided ceasefire. The reason for.

so is that we have already met and. exceeded all military objectives and are. far along with a definitive agreement. concerning long-time peace with Iran and. peace with the Middle East. We have. received a 10-point proposal from Iran. and believe it is a workable basis on. which to negotiate. Almost all of the. various points of past contention have. been agreed to between the United States. and Iran, but a 2-week period will allow. the agreement to be finalized and. consummated. On behalf of the United. States of America, as president and also. representing the countries of the Middle. East, it is an honor to have this. long-term problem close to resolution. Thank you for your attention to this.

matter. President Donald J. Trump.". The Iranians also released a statement. saying quote "On behalf of the Islamic. Republic of Iran, I express gratitude. and appreciation for my dear brothers, Prime Minister of Pakistan Sharif and. Field Marshal Munir, for their tireless. efforts to end the war in the region. In. response to the brotherly request of PM. Sharif in his tweet, and considering the. request by the US for negotiations based. on its 15-point proposal, as well as. announcement by POTUS about acceptance. of the general framework of Iran's. 10-point proposal as a basis for. negotiations, I hereby declare on behalf. of Iran's Supreme National Security.

Council, if attacks against Iran are. halted, our powerful armed forces will. cease their defensive operations for a. period of 2 weeks. Safe passage through. the Strait of Hormuz will be possible. via coordination with Iran's armed. forces and with due consideration of. technical limitations.". Now, two things here. First is that I. know a lot of people expected Donald. Trump to back away from his insane. initial threats because chickening out. is what Trump does. The truth is that. he's never had a coherent strategy. It's. been breathless threats and balking.

since day one. One day he says that he. already won, the next day he's demanding. that Europe intervene, next day he says. he doesn't need Europe, then this. morning he's threatening nuclear war. At. this point, it is becoming obvious that. Donald Trump is employing a madman. strategy to get what he wants, and yet. even still, what he has to show for it. now amounts to the temporary reopening. of a straight that was opened until he. decided to wage war in the first place. Meaning we still have less to show for. our collective efforts today than before. a single bomb was even dropped. But the.

second point that I need to make here is. this. Frankly, it doesn't matter if. Trump chickened out or not, it is still. insane to issue the threat that. he issued. We're talking about nuclear. war, about genocide. He threatened to. eliminate the entire country and its 93. million inhabitants off the map overtly. That is absolutely off the. rails, and we cannot let the insanity of. our political climate desensitize us to. just how dangerous and reckless this. demented lunatic is. And by the way, you.

don't even have to take my word for it. Listen to his own allies. >> If you work in the White House or in the. US military, now is time to say no, absolutely not. And say it directly to. the president, no. Case you're thinking about using some. weapon of mass destruction against the. population of Iran, in whose name we. liberated Iran, we killed their. religious leader for their benefit. Do. you remember that? This was last month. Those people. who are in direct contact with the. president need to say no.

I'll resign. I'll do whatever I can do legally to. stop this because this is insane. If. you've given the order, I'm not carrying. it out. You have to. get 2/3 of the House and 2/3 of the. needs to be something like that. It's. that bad. >> Or how about Marjorie Taylor Greene who. tweeted, "25th Amendment, not a single. bomb has dropped on America. We cannot. kill an entire civilization. This is. evil and madness." Or a Candace Owens. who tweeted, "The 25th Amendment needs. to be invoked. He is a genocidal. lunatic. Our Congress and military need. to intervene. We are beyond madness." Or. former director of the National. Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent who. tweeted, "Trump believes he is. threatening Iran with destruction, but. it is America that now stands in danger. If he attempts to eradicate Iranian.

civilization, the United States will no. longer be viewed as a stabilizing force. in the world, but as an agent of chaos, effectively ending our status as the. world's greatest superpower. This would. upend our economy and shatter the global. order. The process is already underway, yet we still have time to avert. catastrophe if Trump finds the courage. to pursue serious negotiations rather. than reckless rage and destruction." So, when even Alex Jones and Marjorie Taylor. Greene are calling for Trump to be. replaced, maybe just maybe there is some. validity to the idea that bringing the. world to the brink of nuclear war isn't.

worth whatever strategy Trump thinks. he's playing here. And I tend to agree. that the juice isn't worth the squeeze, that voluntarily plunging the US and the. rest of the world into nuclear potential. war to reopen the strait that was. already open before all of this neither. makes us safer nor more prosperous. Trump has poured billions of dollars per. day into this effort, an effort that he. swore would never happen. An effort that means that Americans. don't get those funds, funds that could. have paid for health care here at home,

for food assistance here at home, for. infrastructure here at home, for. education here at home. And you know who. at at one point pretended to care about. those things? This guy. >> It's an old fashioned term that we use. groceries. I used it on the campaign. It's such an old fashioned term, but a. beautiful term, groceries. It sort of. says a bag with different things in it. Groceries went through the roof. And I. campaigned on that. I talked about the. word groceries for a lot. >> And yet now, that same guy and his party. are presiding over rising costs of.

everything, including those very. groceries that he once pretended to care. oh so much about. They have gutted. Medicaid for 17 million Americans. They've gutted ACA subsidies for 24. million Americans. They've gutted food. assistance for millions of Americans. Republicans have enabled a trade war. that spiked the cost of everything. They've greenlit this war that sent the. cost of oil surging. And now, as if all. of that wasn't enough, they're facing. down the barrel of another $200 billion. for this war that, by the way, Trump. swore he would never let happen and a.

$1.5 trillion. defense budget for a war that Donald. Trump swore would never happen. >> I'm not going to start a war. I'm going. to stop wars. No more wars. No more disruptions. We. will have prosperity and we will have. peace. Under Trump, we will have no more. wars, no more disruptions, and we will. have prosperity and peace for all. I am. the candidate of peace. I am peace. >> So, not only did he break that promise. with no rationale ever given, but he's. broken literally every promise that went.

along with it. He swore he would be an. America First president. And yet, all. that's happened since he's taken over is. that Americans' lives have become more. expensive and that the programs that.
