BREAKING: Judge deals Trump SURPRISE BAD NEWS on ballroom
In some breaking news here that will. send Donald Trump into a tailspin, a. judge has just halted the construction. of his $400 million ballroom with a. preliminary injunction. The judge wrote, quote, "The president of the United. States is the steward of the White House. for the future generations of first. families. He is not, however, the owner. President Trump claims that Congress has. given him authority in existing statutes. to construct his East Wing ballroom. project and to do it with private funds. The plaintiff, the National Trust for. Historic Preservation in the United. States, claims the president has no such. authority under existing statutes and.
that a preliminary injunction is. necessary to avoid irreparable harm. I. have concluded that the National Trust. is likely to succeed on the merits. because no statute comes close to giving. the president the authority he claims to. have. As such, I therefore grant the. National Trust motion for a preliminary. injunction and the ballroom construction. project must stop until Congress. authorizes its completion.". And you will be shocked, shocked to. learn that Donald Trump did not take. kindly to the news, considering there's. nothing he cares about more than giving.
himself a ballroom. He took to social. writing, quote, "The National Trust for. Historic Preservation sues me for a. ballroom project that is underbudget, ahead of schedule, being built at no. cost to the taxpayer, and will be the. finest building of its kind anywhere in. the world. I then get sued by them over. the renovation of the dilapidated and. structurally unsound former Kennedy. Center, now the Trump Kennedy Center, a. show of bipartisan unity, a Republican. and Democrat president, where all I am. doing is fixing, cleaning, running, and. sprucing up a terribly maintained for. many years building, but a building of.
potentially great importance. Yet the. National Trust for Historic. Preservation, a radical left group of. lunatics whose funding was stopped by. Congress in 2005, is not suing the. Federal Reserve for a building which has. been decimated and destroyed inside and. out by an incompetent and possibly. corrupt Federal Chairman. The once. magnificent building is billions over. budget, may never be completed, and may. never open. All of the beautiful walls. inside have been ripped down, and never. be built again, but the National Trust. for Historic Preservation never did. anything about it. Or have they sued on.
Governor Gavin Newsom's railroad to. nowhere in California that is billions. over budget and probably will never open. or be used. So, the White House Ballroom. and the Trump Kennedy Center, which are. under budget, ahead of schedule, and. will be among the most magnificent. buildings of their kind anywhere in the. world, get sued by a group that was cut. off by government years ago, but all of. the many disasters in our country are. left alone to die. Doesn't make much. sense, does it? President Donald J. Trump. Dear God, where do we begin? First of. all, building an illegal ballroom under. budget and ahead of schedule does not. negate the law, which mandates.
congressional approval before, you know, tearing down the White House. I can't go. burn down my neighbor's house and then. just tell the cops that the rebuild is. coming in under budget and expect the. cops to just shake my hand, thank me for. my service, and go about their day. Second, he calls the Kennedy Center, which is now referred to as the Trump. Kennedy Center, a show of bipartisan. unity of Republican and Democrat. president. How do I put this? That is not a show of. bipartisan unity. That is one malignant.
narcissist slapping his own name on a. building that has nothing to do with. him, pretending it does, and then. calling it bipartisan. That's like Obama. adding his name to the Lincoln Monument. and then saying that the Republicans. must now have to call it the Obama. Lincoln Monument because it's. bipartisan. But, here's the thing. The reason that. Trump is so salty and offering up this. smattering of desperate excuses is. because the ballroom is one of the only. things he actually cares about. Not jobs. or health care or the economy. He just.
wants to surround himself with gold and. opulence and riches. And that is what. the ballroom is. And now, if. construction is paused, then the. completion date of 2028, which was. expected, might be delayed, which means. Trump might not even be able to christen. it himself. And that. that would be a true tragedy. Not a. tragedy like Americans dying in wars. that he swore he would avoid or millions. of Americans losing health care he swore. he'd protect or high costs making life. unaffordable that he swore he'd bring. down. I'm talking about a real tragedy.
that Donald Trump might not be able to. enjoy himself in a $400 million golden. crusted ballroom. In fact, if you need. proof that Trump does not give a. about anyone other than himself, consider the fact that while we are at. war and more than a dozen Americans have. died, this is what Trump is spending his. time talking about. >> And that porch will be magnificent. looking in between the columns. And then no longer we took the stairs. out. that were on the south side and really.
replaced them with. these stairs. So, you have an open porch. and you have the closed porch under the. columns. overlooking the Washington Monument, the. Jefferson Memorial. and the Lincoln. Memorial/Monument. So, that's the way. This is a. a view of the columns. >> What happened? >> as they are going to be made. They're. going to be hand-carved and they're. beautiful. Copy the line. They'll be Corinthian,
which is. considered the best, most beautiful by. far. >> That's right. >> Okay. Well, so we're. uh ahead of schedule and under budget. Wait, excuse me. Wait. I thought I'd do. this now cuz it's easier. I'm so busy. that I don't have time to do this. >> Quote, "I'm so busy I don't have time to. do this." says Trump. as he spends all of his time doing this. And this isn't even the first time that. Trump has done this. How about a couple. of weeks earlier during this press. conference also supposedly on Iran. See.
that nice drape? When that comes down right now, you see. a very very deep hole. But in about a year and a half from now, you're going to see a very very. beautiful building. And there's your entrance to it right. there. In fact, it looks so nice I don't. think I'll even I think I'll save money. on the doors. cuz you can't get more beautiful than. that. I picked those drapes in my first term. I always liked gold. But I think we can save a lot of money. I just saved I just saved curtains.
But and it will be it'll be a. spectacular be the most beautiful. ballroom. I believe it's cuz I built. many a ballroom. I believe it's going to. be the most beautiful ballroom anywhere. in the world. And when you hear all that. hammering out there, you know why the. first lady is not thrilled exactly. She said, "Will the pile drivers ever. stop?" You know, they go from 6:00 in. the morning till 11:30 in the evening. Can you imagine? Here. You know what? To me that's a beautiful. sound. She doesn't like it. I love it. You know what? To me, other than here.
because we're donating it, not a penny. to the taxpayer. It'll be under budget, ahead of. schedule. It'll be 400 million or less. Most people say 400 million or more. No, it'll be less. But. when I hear that sound, that beautiful. sound behind me, it means money. So I. like it. But my wife isn't thrilled. She said, "This is getting crazy. I. said, "Don't worry about it. We'll be. all finished up in a few months.". >> Yes, how could we possibly expect him to.
discuss the war that he embroiled us in. without first going over the drapes in. his new ballroom? Thank god someone has. their priorities in order. All of which. puts on full display what Trump actually. cares about. And that's the telling. part. It's not just that Trump pretends. he has zero time for stuff like the. ballroom when he clearly has time for. stuff like the ballroom. It's that Trump. always manages to find time for stuff. that helps himself, but never any time. for stuff that helps other people, including his own supporters. And so. he'll run as this populist champion. looking out for the little guy. He'll.
talk about housing and rent and. groceries and eggs. Dude is such a. working-class hero that he wanted to let. you know he felt your pain over a carton. of eggs. And then the second he gets off. into office, what does he do? Launches a. trade war that raises the cost of. everything. Then he passes a tax cut. that disproportionately helps. millionaires and billionaires. Then he. cuts your healthcare and food assistance. for the neediest Americans. Then he. launches a war in the Middle East that. cost about, oh, I don't know, $2 billion. per day. Then he keeps that war going. long enough that oil surges well past.
$100 per barrel to the point that gas. prices start surging here in the United. States. Then that same war closes one of. the world's most important shipping. lanes for oil, meaning this problem. isn't going away anytime soon, which. means we're going to be plagued with. high gas prices for a long time. All of. which comes from the guy who cosplayed. as a populist. And yet, despite the fact. that you're paying more, that your. healthcare is gutted, that your food. assistance is cut, that you're paying. more for gas, that your utility bills. and grocery bills and gas bills are.
higher, he has somehow managed to find. time to help himself. Somehow managed to. find time for his ballroom that none of. us will ever see the inside of. A $400. million Qatari jet retrofitted to the. tune of a billion dollars that none of. us will ever use. Couple of Gulfstream. jets for $172 million that none of us. will ever use. Crypto dinners that have. led to him doubling his net worth. Do. you see who he's helping here? It is. himself. He's heaping more gold and. wealth and opulence onto himself by the. day, and we're all paying for it.
Meanwhile, what have Americans gotten. these last few months? They've gotten. their Medicaid gutted, their ACA. premiums doubled, farmers are utterly. screwed, everybody is watching cost of. everyday goods go up, inflation surging, wages are flat, job growth has vanished, manufacturing renaissance that was. promised is non-existent, gas is going. up. When Donald Trump wants to get. something done, he gets it done. That is. why there is a ballroom for him, but no. healthcare for you. Before you go, I'm very excited to.
announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to wield power. in a post-Trump world. The book explores. what is, in my opinion, the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward, power. Specifically, how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got. here and more importantly, how we should. finally wield power if we're lucky. enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo. Please pre-order today by following. the link on this screen. You can grab.
yours from any of the major retailers. like Amazon and Barnes & Noble or stroll. down on the page and get a copy from an. independent bookstore closest to you. Thanks so much for supporting. independent media.
