BREAKING: Bondi gets MORE BAD NEWS after firing
In case Pam Bondi being fired wasn't. already bad enough, it apparently gets. worse for the former attorney general. Immediately upon news releasing about. her firing, the big question became, "Will Pam Bondi still have to sit for a. congressional deposition on April 14th, less than two weeks from now?" And just. as quickly, we got an answer. Robert. Garcia, ranking member of the House. Oversight Committee, issued the. following statement. Quote, "Attorney. General Pam Bondi has been leading a. White House cover up of the Epstein. files. She has weaponized the Department. of Justice to protect Donald Trump and. put survivors in harm's way by exposing.
their identities. She will not escape. accountability and remains legally. obligated to appear before our committee. under oath. She must answer for her. mishandling of the Epstein files and the. special treatment she has given Galain. Maxwell. Oversight Democrats have been. leading serious investigations into. Bondi and Secretary Christine M. If they. think we are moving on because they were. fired, they are gravely mistaken. So, the position of House Oversight. Democrats and Robert Garcia is that Pam. Bondi will still have to appear for her. sworn deposition. However, it's worth. remembering something important. The.
Republican party isn't and never has. been interested in true accountability. because Pam Bondi's refusal to be. forthright wasn't a bug. It was a. feature of this administration. Which is. why now, as far as Republicans on the. committee are concerned, Semaphore is. reporting that the oversight committee. spokesperson for Republicans says, quote, "Since Pam Bondi is no longer. attorney general, Chairman Comr will. speak with Republican members and the. Department of Justice about the status. of the deposition subpoena and confer on. next steps." which is a lot of words to. say that the writing is on the wall and.
James Comr is all but guaranteed to. confer with the DOJ and decide that. surprise surprise now that Pam Bondi is. no longer AG, somehow her valid subpoena. no longer applies. But remember, the. subpoena was issued to Pam Bondi, not to. the office of the attorney general. It's. still valid whether she's the attorney. general or not. And you don't get to. defy a subpoena just because you've. changed or lost your job. If I was. working at YouTube and then I got. subpoenaed by Congress and then I left. my job at YouTube to go work at. Facebook, do you think that I could.
simply tell the oversight committee or. Congress that I got a new job and. therefore their subpoena of me no longer. applies? It's the same logic at play. here. Getting fired is not some magic. bullet to avoid accountability. But. here's the thing. Nothing that this. administration or the GOP do is for true. accountability. This is the same party. that is right now engaged in a massive. cover up of the Epstein files. You think. if these people actually wanted to. follow the law, they would be running. cover for a president who's not only. named 38,000 times in the files, but.
nearly 4 months past the deadline to. release them? Of course not. The whole. thing has been a cover up. And so the. notion that James Comr will suddenly. find a conscience is a joke. He's done. barely above the bare minimum, just. enough to assuage popular pressure, but. never more than what was absolutely. required. And let's be clear, he will. jump at the opportunity to claim that. now that Bondi's out of her role, there's no more need to have her sit for. a deposition. I don't claim to be able. to predict the future, but I'm pretty. damn certain of that. In fact, this.
wouldn't even be the first effort Bondie. made to avoid having to be deposed under. oath. After the April 14th subpoena was. issued, she decided that she would hold. an off therecord briefing for members of. the committee, which was largely. believed to be her way of satisfying her. obligations without those pesky. nuisances like telling the truth. In. fact, I spoke with multiple Democrats. about exactly that point. Are you. confident that she will show up for the. April 14th um deposition given the fact. that she offered herself up for an off.
thereord briefing with members of. Congress just uh just a week or two ago. and and that you know there was some. concern that her doing that would be you. know her way of saying well look I've. I've already been uh I've already been. transparent and here I'm here for an off. therecord briefing and uh so now there's. no need for me to show up uh under oath. and do a deposition for for the. oversight the committee. >> I do believe she will show up. The. reason I believe she show she will show. up is there there are Republicans on the.
committee uh who will not tolerate her. avoiding it, but uh it's not 100%. She. refused to give that 100% confirmation. to me or Robert Garcia uh when asked. about it. So, we have to be vigilant. I. just think it would be total political. malpractice for her not to show up. And. COMR himself has said that she must show. up. Why? because he sees the votes in. the committee. I mean, there are. Republicans who would be outraged. Do. you think that what Pam Bondi is. attempting to do in the aftermath of the.
subpoena being issued to her to come. testify before uh for a private. deposition uh in April that by holding a. a briefing and this was just this just. took place yesterday that she's looking. to basically satisfy her requirements in. her own mind so that she doesn't have to. fulfill any obligations to appear for. that private deposition per the subpoena. that she received. Pam Bondi is a partisan, petulant, petty. fogger. She is a political hack. She's.
deeply unqualified. And we saw how she performed when she. came before the House Judiciary. Committee, before the American people, performing for Donald Trump and no one. else, acting like she's his personal. lawyer as opposed to the people's. lawyer, which is the job of the attorney. general. and she's engaging in a massive. cover up as it relates to the Epstein. files, which is why led by House. Democrats, we have forced the oversight.
committee to subpoena her. And now, Brian, as you've indicated, she's trying. to get around that by holding a. briefing. This is unheard of as far as. I'm concerned. There was no deposition. transcript. There was no recordings, and. there was no swearing her under oath. And so she can say all manner of things. without fear of being prosecuted at some. point later on for perjury. And so. Summer Lee was exactly right that Pam.
Bondi needs to testify under oath before. the American people so we can talk about. the massive cover up that the Department. of Justice has undertaken. There about three million files. connected to the Jeffrey Epstein. situation that Epstein survivors have. firmly and appropriately and. passionately demanded be released so we. can achieve transparency and full.
accountability. I should also note that. I'll be interviewing Robert Garcia, ranking member of the House Oversight. Committee today about what powers the. Democrats have to compel her testimony. and to stay in line with that already. lawfully issued subpoena. So, if you. want to watch that interview, please. make sure to subscribe to this channel. But the truth is that per usual, this. administration and party will stop at. nothing to suppress the truth. If that. wasn't the case, we would have the. Epstein files fully released by now. But. we have seen with with our own eyes that.
this has been nothing but obuscation, delays, and lies since day one. The fact. that Pam Bondi lied about the files. being on her desk more than a year ago. is a testament to that. The fact that. those right-wing influencers waved. around their fake binders is a testament. to that. The fact that Galain Maxwell. was moved to a lowcurity prison with no. explanations a testament to that. The. fact that nearly 4 months after the. files were supposed to be released and 3. million files still haven't been. released is a testament to that. The. fact that what few files were released. included redacted accomplice names and.
exposed victim's names is a testament to. that. And now the latest step in this. cover up will be the Republican effort. to nullify Pam Bondi subpoena so that. she never has to answer for her corrupt. behavior under oath. But if we've. learned anything from Bondi's firing, it's that this administration is not. immune to public pressure. And in the. same way that Pam Bondi was forced out. of her role amid that massive public. pressure, so too can that pressure apply. to ensuring that she abides by the. lawfully issued subpoena. That's our job. to never let off the gas and demand that.
she answers for what she knows under. penalty of perjury. Before you go, I'm very excited to. announce that I've written a new book. titled The Day After: How to Wield Power. in a PostTrump World. The book explores. what is, in my opinion, the single most. important theme that we're dealing with. in politics today and moving forward. Power. Specifically, how Republicans. abuse it and how Democrats refuse to. wield it. This book explains how we got. here and more importantly, how we should. finally wield power if we're lucky.
enough to get it back. It is the. blueprint for progressives who want to. do far more than just restore the status. quo. Please pre-order today by following. the link on this screen.
