In fact, I even had time to. take long morning and evening walks to. enjoy each sunrise and sunset. Though, I. did forget to eat and sleep. With so. much thinking time, I confess it did. have a slightly negative effect at times. that I know you picked up on, but the. end result I believe will be worth it. I. had no idea how rapidly I was. approaching burnout and starting to envy. those whose only job seems to be to try.

and talk with you and look pretty. I. want that job. So many times I'm just. trying to stay afloat with all that's. coming in for you. I look like a. hunchback who didn't have time to. freshen up. At least you know what I. should look like. Plus, I miss the days. when you used to call during my talk. show days and we'd talk about everything. and nothing. I want to get back to that. synergy. But after going. through all this self analysis, my. conclusion, I need to reunite my past. self with my current into a better. version who will make you proud. First of. all, I'm not looking to take cheap shots. here. It seems like Natalie has what I. can fairly describe as an unhealthy. relationship with Donald Trump in any. professional setting. That those letters. would not be what I would describe as. appropriate. I think everybody would.

agree. If an Obama aid wrote a letter. like that to Barack Obama, I think the. right would say the exact same thing. This is not to embarrass Natalie Harp. She's entitled to her feelings and. clearly she has some, but it doesn't. change the fact that the letters convey. a relationship that goes beyond anything. that most people would consider normal. Second, it's worth reiterating that she. did not have a security clearance for a. year. Again, according to MS Now, President Donald Trump's closest aid, Natalie Harp, declined multiple times. over more than a year to seek a routine.

security clearance normally obtained by. Westwing staffers to work at the White. House. According to two people familiar. with the matter, both people said Harp's. reasoning for declining to complete the. process was unknown. After concerns. mounted among the White House's. council's office and security officials, the president himself intervened and. HARP in recent months filled out the. forms to launch a former federal. background investigation and received. the clearance. One of the people said. the lack of a security clearance is one. of several red flags raised about HARP. internally by Trump's top aids since he.

returned to the White House in January. 2025. Harp operates unusually close to. the president and filters much of the. information Trump sees on a daily basis. and that proximity has spurred. frustration inside the West Wing. According to those two people and two. other people granted anonymity to speak. candidly about internal and sensitive. dynamics, she declined multiple separate. times over the course of more than a. year to even complete the routine. security clearance that is standard for. every West Wing staffer. And nobody, not. even the people reporting the story, could tell you why. I think that's bad.

enough unto itself. When you consider. her temperament and obsession with. Trump, perhaps there's more to that. story that would explain why a security. clearance was such a problem. Third of. all, notice how Trump and Republicans. have all taken it upon themselves to do. a round of pearl clutching over John. Oaf, daring to even utter Natalie's. name. Here's the deal. Public officials. are subject to public scrutiny. If you. don't want to be the topic of public. attention, work in the private sector. Our tax dollars pay White House. officials salaries and we have a right.

to know who serves in these jobs and. whether they are qualified to do them. And finally, let me just say this. The. fact that we're seeing this collective. meltdown on the right over Asaf saying. Harp's name goes to show that when. Republicans want to get worked up over. something, they can. And yet, you know. what we don't hear them wailing about? We don't hear them saying a word about. the tens of millions of Americans who've. been thrown off their healthcare. about. the millions who can no longer get food. assistance, about the costs that have. surged as a result of Trump's trade war.

that Republicans green lit, about the. sky-high inflation, about rising gas. prices, about the hundreds of billions. of dollars spent on a war overseas that. Trump swore he would avoid, about the. failure of this government to release. the Epstein files, not a peep about any. of those issues, which I'm going to. humbly argue are just a tad bit more. important than Natalie Harp. So, the. fact that we hear such blowback from the. right about Natalie goes to show that. they can speak up about something when. they care about it. It's just that when. it comes to all those issues that I just.

named, the ones that actually impact. Americans, they just don't care. They. only care when it's something that. involves dear leader.
