BOMBSHELL: Supreme Court drops ruling we’ve WAITED FOR
We've got some bombshell news here. The. US Supreme Court has finally ruled in. the case that we have been waiting for. regarding Trump's executive order. seeking to ban mail and ballots for the. upcoming midterm elections. The Supreme. Court has ruled 7 to2 against Donald. Trump, denying his effort to block the. use of mail ballots this November. The. court's ruling did not mince words. either. Quote, "The government is. unlikely to succeed on the merits of its. challenge to the district court's. preliminary injunction." translation in. plain English. Even the Supreme Court. looked at Donald Trump's legal argument.
here and said that you're probably going. to lose this fight on the merits. So, we're not going to let you jump the line. and implement it anyway while that. process plays out. Which makes sense. considering the plain text of the. Constitution forbids the executive. branch, meaning the president, from. doing any of this. Article 1, Section 4. is about as clear as constitutional text. gets. The power to regulate the time, place, and manner of elections belongs. to the states and to Congress, not to. the executive branch. Donald Trump does. not get a vote on how Massachusetts or.
California or any other state runs its. own elections. He can't unilaterally. rewrite the rules for mail and ballots. any more than he could unilaterally. decide who counts as American citizens. This isn't even a close call on the. merits. And it's telling that a Supreme. Court that has rewritten the. Constitution god knows how many times. for Trump wasn't willing to do so in. this instance. Consider too this wasn't. some abstract legal question. It was. about whether ballots that are already. being mailed out right now in states.
like Alabama, North Carolina, and. Wisconsin would suddenly be subject to a. brand new verification and tracking. regime dreamed up by Donald Trump and. the postal service weeks before election. day. To claim that would have upended. the election would be an understatement. But as I discussed with Mark Elias, that's not a bug. It is a feature. It is. the whole point. This is from our. conversation yesterday where we were. discussing the likelihood of Trump. losing this case. >> So Brian, when you ask me, does the. delay that we are seeing from the.
Supreme Court ruling, does that favor. our position? The answer is I damn well. hope. I pray. with every fiber in my being. I I I want. to believe that this Supreme Court, even. this Supreme Court, it would be too far. for them to go to rule and run the risk. of a failed election, not in one. community in one place, but frankly. throughout the United States, >> I tend to agree with you in in that.
thinking. Um, as far as the DOJ is. concerned, you know, the the question. that I would ask myself is like why. would the DOJ say that? Um, and wouldn't. that be enough of a deterrent for the. DOJ itself? But in reality, that would. actually the chaos that would ensue. would redown to the DOJ's benefit. because they want that chaos and. confusion. They want people to have less. trust in the election because in that. confusion, in that distrust, in that. environment, they get to fill that void.
with their own version of reality. These. are the people that are coming forward. and saying that 3 to 5 million. undocumented immigrants voted illegally. in California and were it not for them, Donald Trump would have won the last. election. These are the people that are. saying that there are are late night. vote dumps and suitcases full of ballots. and trenches on the side of the road. full of ballots and every time a. Republican loses it's because of some. nefarious behavior. And so this would. only lend itself to those exact.
conditions uh to that exact narrative. that Republicans have been trying to. perpetuate anyway for the course of the. last 10 years. >> No, that's exactly right. I mean, one of. the things that drives me a little bit. crazy with the way the legacy media. covers these stories is that they say, you know, one of the effects of this. ruling would be one of the impacts of. this rule going into effect would be and. then they talk about chaos. AND I'M. LIKE, THAT'S NOT ONE of the effects. That is the purpose. Like, that is not. some some side effect that the Trump.
administration has to contend with. That. is the point, right? Disenfranchising. voters is the point. They want to make. it harder for you to vote and easier for. them to cheat. Donald Trump stood on the. stage at the convention, and Brian, you. did exemplary coverage of this. He stood. on the stage and said, "Republicans need. to cheat.". and and this Department of Justice. saying in a court filing, yes, this. would be, you know, disenfranchisement.
of a large number of voters. Like that. is the point. And until the legacy media. and the elite pundit class that wants to. both sides this. >> Yeah. >> and wants to act like this is just some. debate between two equal sides, as if. somehow you've got a firefighter over. here and an arsonist over there, and we. can't figure out who the good guy and. the bad guy is. You know, until we get. over that, we're going to be on a. razor's edge for democracy. And you're. going to have lawyers like me who are. doing everything we can in court, including in this case, including in the.
Missouri case, where my law firm, against all odds, won in the Supreme. Court twice on behalf of that ballot and. measure measure committee. But look, we're going to do everything we can. You're going to do everything you can. But man, but man, it would be really. great. It would be really great if civil. society. It would be really great if. large corporations. It'd be really great. if the the the media the you know the. the folks who own the big legacy media. outlets showed the same urgency. >> Yeah. >> That we all need to have. >> So look at this point here's what we can. expect. Donald Trump will likely point.
to this Supreme Court loss as evidence. unto itself that the election is rigged. He'll say that the Scotas ruling. refusing to block mail and ballots is. why the election itself can't be trusted. because he knows that Republicans are. going to lose and so needs to find. something to undermine the results. This. is all nothing more than the desperate. rantings and ravings of a sad, small, petty tyrant who is watching his. influence wayne with each new day. His. mentality is heads I win, tales you. lose, which might work if you're a.
seven-year-old on the playground. Not so. much for a grown ass adult with the. nuclear codes. As for mail ballots, they'll keep flowing exactly the way. they have for years without the new DHS. citizenship lists, without the new USPS. tracking mandates, without the confusion. that Trump wanted to inject into the. whole process. His executive order on. the question of whether he can upend how. tens of millions of Americans vote by. mail right before a midterm election. based on an order that even his own. appointed justice wouldn't defend is.
dead. So vote with confidence. Vote. early. Vote by mail. Vote in person. Whatever you do, vote. And finally, one. last thing. I need everybody watching to. take one concrete step right now. I'm. going to put a link on the screen. I'm. going to put it in the post description. I'm going to put it in the link in my. bio. Or you can go to. voterresource.org/btc. Again, that's voterresource.org/btc. to check your voter registration status. Republican states have been messing with.
the voter roles in hopes that you're not. paying attention. It will take one. minute out of your day to ensure that. you are registered to vote. And if. you're not, you can get registered to. vote at that same link. And together, we. will overcome every hurdle, every. barrier, every obstacle that this. Republican party is imposing. Because. let's be clear, if they weren't so. afraid of the power of your vote, they. wouldn't be trying so damn hard to take. it away. [music]. Before you go, one quick request. It's.
become clear to me that this White House. is dead set on preventing me from. reaching any audience. Trump's decision. to put me as the first name on his. enemies list is a testament to that. But. it didn't quiet down then, and I won't. do it now. So, please do me a favor and. subscribe to this channel. Hit the. notification bell to be alerted when I. post new content, and tune in when I. publish videos so that they get picked. up in the algorithm. The link to. subscribe is right here on the screen. And together, let's make sure that we. send a message to this administration. that all they're doing by attacking me. and independent media is making our.
platforms all the more powerful.
