That's. not some courtesy, that is the entire. point of having a clearance system in. the first place. And it's not like this was some minor. lapse that got fixed quietly and. quickly. According to reporting, Harper. received multiple extensions to complete. the paperwork, the SF86 form, which. requires disclosing background. information as part of a formal federal. investigation, and she only actually. filled it out after concerns mounted.

inside the White House's Counsel's. office and among security officials, at. which point Trump himself had to. personally intervene to get her to do. it. Think about that chain of events. It. wasn't like HR catching it. It wasn't. routine audit catching it.
